  • Got some important info about a supply of spice and different drugs that they want to get through a blockade on the lower levels. The objective is simple, you're going to set up an ambush at that very blockade, make sure they don't get past it and...while the police and the gang members are duking it out, sneak in and get rid of both of them, securing the spice for the Zaa Fenn and sending yet another contundent message, I don't care the way you handle this, the louder the better in fact.

"Boss," the burly human nodded as Kara arrived on her speeder bike. He and seven other scoundrels formed a gang around Kara's person. They guarded the KnowOnes' front electronics shop called 'Rache Robotics' and escorted her whenever she decided a certain job was important enough to do in person. Surprisingly enough that turned out to be on the personal request of Gareth Zaa Fenn, designated second in command of Preef Callo's personal Nar Shaddaa crew that he dubbed 'Shaddaa Legends'. With Preef gone, Gareth had automatically become the top enforcer of Crymorah Syndicate interests and that made him someone you made sure to be on the good side of.

Not just that. Kara had gotten word that another 'Shaddaa Legend' would join her today. Not just any legend, mind you, but the one that personally slit the throat of Durr the Hutt. People all across the galaxy toasted on Aska Ryun's name. Showing up in person for this one was killing two birds with one stone.

She killed the engine and nodded back, "Spill it, chico."

"They're planning to move the product in a speeder van," he looked sideways at another member of the gang who was closely monitoring a datapad, "ETD 10 minutes." He turned back to his boss with a confident smile, "We paid someone off at the blockades. Its the guy with the cybernetic right ankle," Kara would remember that for it was important information. Gareth had tasked them to take everyone out, including law enforcement, but killing your own rats gave the worst rep. She had to make sure he was protection during the skirmish. Maybe Aska felt protective..

"Any ideas on the numbers?" she asked to shrugging shoulders. "Dozen swoopers, probably some in the van. It's an important shipment for them," and none of that was a lie. The Blackened Jet Empire were clearly threatened by the presence of the White Lion of the Zaa Fenn and the various bounties on their names from the Coruscant Planetary Government, "let's make sure they thin themselves out first then." No need in running unnecessary risks, "Plus, we gotta wait for Aska Ryun anyway." A murmer rose from her gang upon hearing the name of the Huttslayer and Shaddaa Legend. One would almost think they'd be in the presence of bonafide Five Syndicate royalty.

There was no rest for the wicked. Ever since the execution of Durr had been broadcasted to the entire galaxy, Aska had found herself busier than ever before. Gone were the days of her roughing up some down trodden fool for owed credits or tracking runaway turncoats of a lowly back alley gang. Now she was Aska Ryun, Hutt Slayer, Legend of Shaddaa. She had her choice of contracts from a variety of esteemed sources, yet even so she always found herself doubling down on those credits that came from less-than-reputable bank accounts. Even with her new found fame, there was just something so sweet about slipping a fast one under the nose of the law that she found herself taking up yet another contract from the Zaa Fenn crime family, though this particular job was far less illustrious than what had come before.

Bringing her bike out of the skylane above of Rache Robotics, the clone spotted what she could only surmise was the group she was here to meet with. Each hand on the control bars of the prized Daggerstar, cigarra hanging from her lip, she pushed the accelerator and closed in on the collection of Syndicate thugs. Most seemed like your common muscle for jobs such as this, characters you can rely to watch your back but leaving them to take charge of a volatile situation was likely an unforgiving mistake. One woman, however, stood out amongst the others as the majority of the group had given her their full attention. At this distance, she couldn’t quite make out just who this authoritative figure was but with the recent disappearance of Preef Callo, there weren’t many notable names that filled the bracket. ”Or those pants,” Aska mused to herself as she approached.

The swoop’s exhaust ports barked as the merc downshifted, slowly pulling in alongside the others. Inhaling the final drag of her smoke before plucking it from her lips and flicking it out and away into the long descent towards the lower levels. Faces all turned to see who this new arrival was, some going so far as to stretch their necks upward for the best possible glance from where they sat. Smiling in the seat of her bike, Aska chuckled softly as she came to a complete stop at the side of the dark haired woman. Maybe one day the novelty of her notoriety would fade and become boring, but she doubted it.

”Damn, Graveth didn’t tell me to expect Kara Lok of all people to be riding with us,” Aska laughed from her swoop. All she had been made aware of was that they’d be interrupting a checkpoint stop and making off with a spice shipment but the clone was sure to do her research. Even so, this was certainly a welcome surprise. ”I’ll have to send him a bottle of Zygerrian Rye as a thanks,” she continued coyly, speaking over the murmurs and whispers of disbelief from those Kara had brought along. ”I’m assuming you guys have been watching the convoy? It’s gettin’ close. What’s your plan?”

"Don't be too happy about it," Kara replied to Aska's praise with a wink, "I'm more of a plan and slice type of merc." In Lower Level Blasterfight she wasn't that much use, after all. That's why she got the muscle tagging along. Speaking of planning, "We'll get a signal when the convoy leaves the compound," Kara explained as she motioned for one of her goons to show Aska the holomap of the area. "Need to make sure they go left here as it leads to roadblock with our man in it," the holographic map showed several blue dots to signify Coruscant Security Force (CSF) officers and then played a little scene of a group of red dots, Blackened Jet Empire's convoy, colliding with the blue ones. "We make sure to take out everyone that tries to leave the shootout and take out whoever's left and then load the spice over into our own speeder van." She motioned for a speeder van parked roughly twenty meters away showing 'Rache Robotics' on the side. "It's protected," by a whole lot of credits, but at least it was guaranteed to pass any other roadblocks. On these levels, the Zaa Fenn's authority was supreme.

"Boss, the ankle cop-" Kara was reminded of a task she wanted to ask Aska to perform, "right, almost forgot. Our inside man in the CSF has a cybernetic ankle. It'll be noticable. Goes without saying he needs to survive, preferably unscathed."

"Showtime!" the goon looking at the datapad suddenly said and prompted the gang into action as they quickly made for their own speeders and speeder bikes. "Intersection first, then the roadblock." They needed to make sure the convoy would take their desired route and it didn't matter how they did it.

”Right. Funnel the convoy towards the checkpoint, spark a firefight between CSF and the Jets, swipe the shipment and pull the informant before he gets burnt. And here I was expecting something with a little more flare,” As Aska relayed the plan back to Kara, ensuring she had heard the details clearly to avoid any sort of mix up, she leaned back in the seat of her speeder and smiled. At face value this seemed to be a pretty simple job, not even remotely comparable to infiltrating a Hutt Palace or retrieving a Sith artifact from Malheion, but that was just it. Face value. The clone had learned long ago that if someone charges into something head first with the expectations that everything would go swimmingly, they’d more than likely drown.

“Showtime!”

As the mercs all moved to fire up their swoops and secure their helmets, Aska followed suit and brought the Daggerstar back to life. Engines roared with every twist of accelerators, drowning the ambient noises of Coruscant out entirely.

”Drinks on me after this, yea?” the clone shouted out over the uproar to Kara as she pulled a cigarra from the pack in her jacket, a sly smirk offered as she lit the tabacc before leaning her foot down on the pedal.

Keeping to an altitude above the convoy, Aska watched carefully as the shipment followed the exact route that Kara and her crew had informed her it would. A dozen swoops surrounded the speeder van in a tight formation, leaving little in ways of a window for them to push their own enforcers in around the target. They needed an opening.

”Time to earn that pay cheque,”

Accelerating her speeder and dropping down to the same flight path as their target, Aska weaved through the busy skylane as billboards and other vehicles passed by as though they were standing still. The amount of space between her and their target continued to shrink but as she approached the vicinity in which the bike riders at the rear of the pack would notice her, she aimed the nose of her craft downwards and then levelled out below.

One of the reasons Aska had decided to spend such an exuberant amount of her savings on this particular speeder wasn’t simply for it’s looks but it’s performance. There was little on the market that could compare to it’s top speed so as the mercenary pushed the accelerator downward, the roaring motor barking below the convoy, she quickly began to pull ahead of them all. Of course, the speeder wasn’t without it’s trade offs. At this speed, maneuvering was difficult. Timing was going to be challenging but there was also little time to waste. Gritting her teeth as the cigarra hung from her lip, the clone pulled back on controls and began to climb.

“Ya ‘ear that?” one of the Jet protectors that had taken the point of the convoy hollered over to his right. “Tha’ new muffler sounds mean, brothah!”

“Bettap no mi!” the Twi’lek called back, puzzled. He certainly did hear the roar coming from beneath him but it was far more thunderous than the bike he rode. He knew the craft inside and out, and this wasn’t him. Yet before he could deduce the source, the sounds of steel scraping on steel to his left redirected his focus. Swinging wide to avoid the swoop that had appeared from below, the rest of the team at his rear fell back to avoid the wreckage of their downed wingmate. “Loca schutta!”

As the speeder bike skipped across the surface of her own swoop, Aska quickly applied the air brakes and cranked the controls hard to the right, spinning the Daggerstar into a slide and finally offering the clone a clear shot on the speeder van at the center. As the craft continued to drift sideways at the front of the convoy, she drew her SE-45 and began firing on their target. The turn they needed to funnel the convoy down was fast approaching and she only hoped this little distraction was going to do the trick.

Aska Ryun was every bit as skilled as Preef made her out to be. One of his Legends, for sure, because she showed exactly his disregard for her own safety. Typical for an enforcer, but effective nevertheless. Kara motioned for her own gang to get ready and they postured a bit to sell the ruse and fired a few bolts into their direction.

Sure enough the convoy went into the right direction and for a moment swirled a corner and was out of sight. Then, a cacophony of blaster fire, sirens and yelling. "Don't forget about the ankle," Kara said over the comline she shared with her gang and Aska. It was important to send a message per Gareth's orders, but the cop they bought better come off looking like the hero survivor of a hellish shootout.

Thirty seconds later their swoopbikes and their own 'Rache Robotics' van arrived on the scene.

What they saw was nothing short of utter carnage. Coruscant Security Forces had riddled the Blackened Jet Swoops and van with scorch marks and holes as dead bodies, both Barabel and uniformed humans, littered the tarmac. Kara jumped off her bike and grabbed the blaster pistol from her jacket. They didn't have a lot of time, a minute tops, to kill everyone but the rat and load up all the spice into their own speeder van.

If they succeeded? Well, then CSF would look stupid trying to shoot up an empty van and the Blackened Jet Empire just lost a big chuck of members and product. The latter left a hole in the market that only the Zaa Fenn could fill.
