If you were to wander outside the Jedi Temple early in the morning, you might notice a trail. A few trampled ferns here; a broken twig there; a footstep in the dirt... And a faint, elusive feeling that something or someone might be waiting for you at the end of this path. Your senses don't hint at any danger; whether or not to follow the trail is entirely up to you and your curiosity.

Those who take the path would end up going farther and farther away from the Temple. First over a toppled tree trunk across a fast narrow stream. Then through the jungle thicket. Then another toppled tree trunk or climbing plants would help you scale a small cliff. After a little walk through the jungle, you'd reach a chasm—shallow enough not to be deadly, but wide enough to only be crossed with the aid of the Force. Summon a vine to your hand and swing across, or just augment your jump with the Force if you think you can make it.

Your reward for going this far would be a small clearing on top of a cliff, with a breathtaking view on the valley below and the mountains in the distance. The grass is trampled here, and receding in some places. Someone has definitely frequented this place. You can almost sense the person, and the sense is getting stronger by the moment.

Suddenly, 4 training remotes that had been hiding in the bushes spring to action and surround you. After a few moments of scanning, they leave you alone and fly off in the direction you came from. Something is about to happen...

If you have a reason to be on Ajan Kloss and follow the trail, then you are welcome to do so. To join the thread, just react to the obstacles listed above ;)

Kegari wasn’t sure this was the correct place. She had wrote on her blue hand “Ajan Kloss” was what she could make out after it had smudged from the trek over here. The guard had given her coordinates and then told her that Ajan Kloss is where she would begin her training.

“Hello”? Kegari said hoping to find someone who could help her. Although she was still unsure about everything. She was scared, alone, and now she’s more doubtful than ever.

“Hello”? Kegari said again although she didn’t see anyone she sensed another presence here. She had hoped that this wasn’t a trap.

Squelch-squelch-squelch-squelch! Kori's feet trampled the dirt as ran down the familiar path so fast that the wind in her hair made them wave behind her. Dodge the branch here, jump over a stump there, and soon you'd be at the river. The Jedi didn't even need to process that; she had run through the area so many times that it seemed like second nature. Yet this time something was off. Kori sensed doubt... and fear? Why would she feel that, and there of all places?

Deep in those thoughts, Kori jumped at the toppled tree trunk that'd take her over the river... Only to feel a sharp sting in her upper hip, causing her to lose the balance and fall into the river with a quiet curse: "Kriff!" The water wasn't too cold, but without the time to adjust to the temperature, Kori still squeaked.

Of course! The Jedi Knight had recently incorporated training remotes into her training. Too consumed with the weird and unexpected emotions, the Zeltron had completely lost her focus, letting the remote take a cheap shot at her. Kori wouldn't have been that reckless if she weren't distracted.

A moment of swimming didn't diminish the Zeltron's determination. Calming herself and closing her eyes, she'd let her foot touch the muddy bottom of the stream. A little leverage was all she needed to propel herself out of the stream with the aid of the Force. Before the spatter she had produced landed on the ground, Kori was running off to her next obstacle.

However, the momentum was lost. Running through the thicket, dripping wet, and scratched by the branches, Kori was still experiencing the strange feelings. They weren't her own, they couldn't be. So someone might be around... To witness Kori yell, slip up, and fall onto her stomach and into the fresh wet dirt. Another remote had punished her for disregarding her surroundings, and a sting in the abdomen was a painful reminder of that.

As Kori tried to get back on her fours, the remote fired another shot, this time at her shoulder. Squeaking angrily, Kori landed on her back this time. "Guess I might need to take a swim again after this," she mumbled to herself, taking a moment in the dirt, her training session ruined already. At least the remote didn't attack her while she stayed down.

Alright, Kori, a deep breath. Emotion, yet peace. Failure is not a sin. You can overcome it. That's why you do it. Closing her eyes again and counting to three, the Zeltron tensed her muscles. With a sharp exhale, she sprang up, dodging another shot from a remote with an intricate somersault. Enough failures for today. As she ran towards the cliff, she summoned the lightsaber from her belt into her hand. The next shot that was aimed for Kori's lower back was met with the hiss of a light-blue blade. Deflected, it flew back towards the remote. A hit meant it was out of the game.

Normally, Kori would climb the tree trunk or the vines. But her blind deflection and the beep of the defeated remote inspired her. Instead of climbing, she ran up the toppled tree trunk, propelling herself into the air just like she had done in the stream less than a minute ago. Rolling with the fall (Who cares? The outfit is ruined already), the Zeltron Jedi rushed towards the final obstacle. She was back in the zone, and Kori was confident that she could just jump over the chasm. Not minding the strange feelings for the moment, she reached the edge and kicked off it.

Kori learned from her mistakes. She knew that a remote was nearby, so she ignited the saber again, just in time to deflect a shot from the bushes back at the attacker. That's one less. Making another roll as she landed, the Zeltron rushed towards the final showdown with the remotes...

However, the Jedi ran into someone she had not expected: a young blue-skinned female, seemingly lost in the jungle of Ajan Kloss. So that's where the doubts and fears emanated from. Kori realized that she herself must've been quite the sight: a wet Zeltron covered in mud and running at you with a brandished lightsaber was probably not the most comforting thing. Instinctively, she Jedi her weapon to avoid scaring her uninvited guest...

A blaster bolt to the ankle and yet another sting forced Kori to fall on one knee and proved that lowering her defenses was a mistake. The Jedi Knight had only taken out 2 of the 4 remotes, and the remaining ones were programmed to chase her. Distracted by the stranger yet again, she nonetheless ignited her saber... and got a shot under the shoulder blade from the second remote. Grumbling, the Zeltron twirled her light-blue blade around her, eventually deflecting further bolts aimed at her and taking the remotes out of the game.

With the training session over, Kori disengaged her lightsaber, exhaled, and fell on her side, letting her exertion overcome her for a moment. After a moment of staring at the sky and the stranger, she'd lean on her elbow to sit on the ground, breathing heavily: "Who are you? What are you doing here?" Despite being a trained Jedi, she still couldn't hold back a slight hint of annoyance. Probably because of her own poor performance, or the fact that the stranger had seen her like that, after one of her worst attempts at the training course.

Kegari was in the presence of a Zeltron Jedi, in not the best shape. She was unsure of what was to come next although she sensed that she was nervous. “I’m Kegari, I come in peace, a Jedi guard told me to come here to begin my training” Kegari explained.

She looked rather distressed.“May I help”? Kegari asked even though there wasn’t much for her to help with. She wasn’t trained in the Force as she is.

She then walked in her general direction until she tripped on one of the vines that surrounded the area.
“Ouch”. Kegari cried and quickly got back up again. Definitely not used to this, she thought to herself as she tried to regain her balance although the balance was uneven with the amount of sludge and thicket that may cause her to trip and go swimming in it.

Only to find herself planted face first in it as she lost her balance and took a nose dive in it.

“Well I guess that makes the both of us” Kegari said as she sat up and tried to wipe herself off with her bare hands. As she tried to get back up she was then greeted with a training remote, a blaster bolt to her foot wasn’t the most pleasant experience. She really did need help with training, she thought to herself as she regained her composure and grabbed her blaster from her waist and began to shoot back as the training remotes began blasting.

As she began blasting back she began to walk backwards and ran into a giant tree hurting herself.
“I’m definitely not ready to go into combat”. Kegari sighed as the blasted training remote began to emit smoke. She facepalmed as she knew she had definitely destroyed the training remote. “I’m terribly sorry, I destroyed your device”. Kegari sighed apologetically although she could most likely craft her a replacement if allowed.

Rocks then began to fall off the cliff creating a rocky surface. Kegari tried to dodge the rocks charging at them however she was already out of breath and exhausted. Leaving her bruised in some places, but one could never tell from her already blue skin. “Does that cliff do that all the time”? Kegari asked as the cliff stopped spewing rocks momentarily.

The Jedi realised that perhaps she had been a little harsh to her guest. Emotion, yet peace. To Nykoria, the Pantoran seemed a little bit lost and confused... Pretty much like Kori herself, when she had found that training ground almost a decade ago. "Thank you, I'll be fine," the Zeltron replied calmly, standing up from the dirt. "That's... just a little mishap." The fact that Kegari didn't giggle at Kori's failure made it easier for the Jedi.

As Kori was cleaning herself up—she still intended to take a swim later, but why not clean off at least some dirt for now?—her guest tripped on a vine and ended up in pretty much in the same state. In her mind, Kori found the situation slightly amusing, but on the outside she only showed it by a corner of her lip tilting upwards just slightly. The Pantoran showed remarkable restraint of emotions about her own rendez-vous with the dirt of Ajan Kloss.

Then something unexpected happened. Apparently, Kori hadn't deflected a sting bolt at one of the remotes, and then it arrived to exact its vengeance... But chose an unsuspecting Kegari instead, due to a quirk in programming, perhaps. As Kori rushed towards the cornered Pantoran, shouting "Training off!" to hopefully disable the remotes and stop Kegari from getting hurt. However, the poor remote was blasted into oblivion before it could process the command. "Not bad, girl," Kori thought to herself, even though she was slightly irritated about the destroyed remote—after all, she had borrowed it from the Order, and it was in her care.

But before the Jedi could praise her guest, she noticed that the rocks from the cliff started falling. A few smaller ones had hit Kegari before the Kori could do anything. However, Nykoria did manage to focus on one of the larger ones and toss it aside with a flick of her wrist before it would've raised a nasty bump.

Approaching Kegari, the Zeltron would put a hand on her shoulder, trying to keep calm. "Yes, that happens with the cliff." Nykoria felt that some consolation was in order. After all, she would've liked one when she kissed the ground. But she also felt the Force within her guest. Assuming immediately that Kegari was already with the Order, the Zeltron added: "This place is indeed a good training spot. But the guard wouldn't have known that I was here with my remotes."

Kori chuckled somewhat apologetically: "Perhaps that sort of training regimen is a little too much for a Padawan, and this caught you off guard. But who is your Master, Kegari?"

Kegari wasn’t with the Order... at least not yet. She sensed the Zeltron has already made the assumption she is. She wasn’t trained either, not without a Master. “I’m sorry about breaking your remote”. Kegari sighed she felt extremely awful about it.

“I don’t have a Master, at least not yet. But I was sent here under the impression that I would have one assigned to me”. Kegari explained she knew very little about how the Jedi order works. She wasn’t a Padawan either although with the training of a Master she had the potential to become one. That’s as much as she knew.

“Before coming here, I was given a Midichlorian test, they told me that I would have results in a few days, although I haven’t heard back from him”. Kegari explained that they suspected that she could be Force sensitive and had a medical droid perform a Midichlorian test.

Kegari sighed she knew she had disrupted the Zeltron’s training session. And she began to feel a bit guilty about it. She had sensed she was a little bothered by it.

“I guess that’s why this makes a good training area” Kegari pointed to the cliff. There was no guessing when it would erupt again and we had to always be on guard or get crushed by the boulders.

If she was to become a Padawan it was best that she found a Master. But Kegari didn’t know anyone, the poor Pantoran was under the impression that she would be assigned one upon coming here. But what did she know? All she knew were the voices in her head.

“Patience young one, for you will be strong with your abilities”.

Kegari had heard the voices calling, she had hoped the Zeltron didn’t notice her slight distress as sometimes her head would hurt when she either saw Force visions or heard voices in her head.

She didn’t try to explain, Kegari was far too embarrassed about the voices in her head. Embarrassed, yes but oddly not frightened by them. The visions would get disturbing at times, but it would never frighten her. Most times she is trying to figure out the meanings behind them.

"It's ok, such things happen," Kori tried to comfort her guest about the destroyed remote. The Zeltrons experienced amplified emotions of the people around them; the Jedi could do that too, and Kori was both."They'll have more than enough spares." She then listened to the Pantoran's story. It explained how Kegari ended up on Ajan Kloss, and her current situation. The Jedi Knight nodded, a slight smile on your face: "I think that the process is a bit more complicated just having a Master assigned."

Then she'd put her hand on the Pantoran's shoulder and added: "But do not worry, Kegari. If the Force has guided you to Ajan Kloss, it has done so for a reason. All those who genuinely seek the wisdom of the Order are welcome here." She paused for a bit, before adding: "By extension, it means that I'll do what's within my power to help."

Kori stepped into the clearing, making a wide gesture: "This place... It's my own little training ground. I found it years ago, when I first arrived to Ajan Kloss. It is a good training ground but not for the reason you mentioned. It's rather secluded, and few people venture here. It... helps me to achieve peace."

The Zeltron turned to her guest again, inviting her to take a seat at the nearby stone, which seems to have been used for this purpose quite frequently. Kori would take a seat as well, at a respectable distance. "Could you tell me about your path to the Jedi Order so far? As in, who suggested you go to Ajan Kloss, and to this area in particular. How much do you know about the Force? Any information that may help me help you... If that's what you seek, of course."

Kegari took a seat on a nearby stone next to Kori and sighed, she didn’t know where to begin. She lived a tough life before her venture here.

“Well, before I came here I was discovered by a Padawan who was delivering medical supplies to my resident planet of Kashyyyk, I know it sounds strange but I was abandoned as a young child. I know nothing about my childhood or my parents. She had suspected that I was Force sensitive, so she had sent me over, and that’s when I was evaluated and given a Midichlorian test, in the Jedi temple and then after I got tested, I was lead here. Not by the guard or the other Padawan, but by the voices in my head”.

For Kegari, it never phased her to speak about her past, after all its shaped her into the young woman she is today. She’s been fending for herself until now. “I know you aren’t the person to ask about this, but could the Force be linked to my strange headaches”? Kegari asked unsure of what it actually meant. Even If she possessed these abilities she doesn’t know. “Every now and then, I would experience voices in my head as if they were talking to me personally and then I would experience visions, sometimes unclear of the why and how they reached out to me, but they would cause me to have these strange headaches”. Kegari explained her situation to Kori. Kegari suspected it may have happened to her as well, if she is Force sensitive. But from rather a different perspective.

Kegari sat on the stone and sighed, she never once questioned the voices in her head. But she always wondered why her? Even if it didn’t matter, it still crossed her mind.

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate; hate leads to suffering. I sense much fear in you.” — Yoda

Kegari heard the voices again, only this time they were a lot more clearer. But this one wasn’t talking directly to her or even about her, it was said to someone else in another time. Kegari took a deep breath and placed her hands on her temples. Her head was pulsating. As soon as the headache passed she put her head back up and looked back up. She sighed, she had hoped that one day she would get ahold of them and have better control of them.
“I’m sorry, one day I will learn how to control the migraines”. Kegari apologizes. Although it may have not been warranted, she sighed she was apologetic for her mind and body actions, she was basically apologizing for being alive. She really needed to quit that too, as it was a sign of weakness.

And Jedi needed to be strong, and if she were to become a Jedi she needed to be strong. Not always apologetic, especially when an apology isn’t warranted.
“I really need to break that habit, the habit of always apologizing”. Not that it even phased her, she always did it, and not one person she’s met said anything.

Anyways, she was appreciative of the help that the Jedi Knight was going to offer her.
“Thank you for offering to help me. Although you are not a Master, I’m sure you will be of great help”. Kegari expresses her gratitude as she sat on the stone. The Jedi Knight’s knowledge will help her, when the time comes for actual training with a Master.

“I could probably make you another remote, I’ve crafted weapons like grenades and blasters it was one of my favorite hobbies. I made them out of salvaged scrap”. Kegari offered as she looked at the ground. She was genuinely sorry about that though, she didn’t mean to damage the training remote. The only way she could make it up to her was to make a replacement. “If that’s okay with you, if not that’s fine...” Kegari trailed off.

As Kegari was sharing her story, the Jedi Knight didn't interrupt her. Instead, Kori rested her chin on her palm, her elbow on her hip. Occasionally, she would nod, but that would be it. Kori would only interject when the Pantoran asked her a question about the Force, voices, and headaches. "It sounds... possible," the Zeltron rubbed her own chin.

"I never heard about Force-related headaches or experienced them myself. But for all that the Jedi know about the Force, there is at least twice as more to discover. And I did hear about some Jedi hearing voices of those who... came before." Kori wanted to say "gone", but changed her mind, as remembered one of the teachings: "No one's ever really gone". Remembering that dogma, however, did strike a nerve, making the young Zeltron look a deep in thought.

But then the Jedi was drawn from her gloomy train of thought back to there and then—Kegari was in visible pain, or at least discomfort. Kori instinctively leaned forward. However, the Pantoran seemed to have some hold of it. Listening to Kegari's apologies made Kori think back to her own first months in the Jedi Order. That was a feeling she was all too familiar with.

"Don't worry," the Zeltron smiled warmly, both hands oh her hips now, as she assumed a pose for meditation, but still facing Kegari. "That's why we are all here. To understand the Force, as well as ourselves... and hopefully to become better. I do not know if I can help you with the headaches and voices... It would take someone wiser than me," the Zeltron tilted her head. "I'll... need some time to think it over."

At first, she wanted to tell the Pantoran about her own experiences: how she had visions about an item she saw or touched, allowing her to look into the past... sometimes unwillingly. The Zeltron had learned to quell this to an extent. But Kori wasn't yet certain that a similar technique would help her guest, yet untrained in the Force. For all she knew, "each ailment needed its own treatment", and she was afraid to give her guest a bad advice without taking at least some time to think about it. Perhaps she'd tell about it some other day, if the circumstances would be right.

Then Kegari brought up the damaged remote, and offered help in making a new one. Offering help, trying to make it right—it seemed a very Jedi thing to do. Kori smiled warmly: "By all means, Kegari. If you think that you can do it, you're welcome. Perhaps that poor little remote is still salvageable though. When you feel like it, there are some workbenches back at the Temple. You should find all the necessary parts and equipment there."

Of course, Kegari wouldn't have to go and do all than now; it was a piece of advice for the future. The Jedi Knight figured that at the temple, the Pantoran could meet some other Jedi, and perhaps mingle with more members of the Order a little bit more. Maybe some of them might offer better insight than the Zeltron, or provide support on the path of the Jedi.

"Until then..." the Zeltron made a brief pause, casting a glance at the valley below them. She then crossed her legs and closed her eyes: "Feel free to stay around, enjoy the view... Maybe meditate a little. I find this place perfect for this sort of thing."

Kegari listened to the Zeltron as she explained to her. She wasn’t sure why anyone else would want to engage in conversation with her in the Temple, perhaps because they didn’t know her or didn’t see her.

“I could try, I can’t guarantee it will be fixed but I’ve done similar things like it”. Kegari explained. She sighed and nodded, it was one of those things she learned growing up, if you messed up you made it right. It didn’t take training to know that, at least that’s what she learned back home.

Kegari was unsure about how to meditate, although she may have done it already without even realizing it. She sat on the stone and crossed her legs and took a deep breath, closed her eyes and began to meditate. This could be dangerous, being untrained.

There was fire, water, rain, and a hurricane. The visions Kegari experienced didn’t make sense. There was visions of Pantora although she’s never been there physically, it was cold, windy, and snowing. A snow storm. She was trapped on Pantora in a snow storm. Fire, she saw flames amongst the snow that surrounded the planet. Was her planet in danger? Her people?

Kegari broke out of her state of meditation, breathing labored. She looked to the Zeltron hoping she didn’t scare her or anyone else who may have been here. “Oh my goodness”. Kegari said as she couldn’t believe what she saw in her vision.

She was a bit uneasy although it was merely a vision. Visions like these were disturbing, and most times Kegari felt helpless when she experienced these visions. She then regained composure and sighed.

Emotion, yet peace. The very first tenet of the Jedi Code. The foundation of meditation. And something that Kori had always had the most difficulty with. Her being a Zeltron, she experienced amplified emotions of the people around her. Even when she realized that those emotions weren't hers, disregarding them entirely proved problematic. Kori strove to become better at it, but sometimes she chose an easier option and would just meditate at a desolate location, away from all the commotion.

This time, she had made an exception because she saw much of her former 19-year-old self in the Pantoran who had stumbled upon her. Lonely. Confused. For a moment, Kori felt like she traveled back in time. But then, Kegari's distress and exclamation made the Zeltron return to the present.

"What happened?" the Jedi opened her eyes, turning her face to the Pantoran.
"You look like you've just seen something disturbing."

Kegari sighed and looked at the Zeltron, it was her vision. It was only a vision however, some of them come true some don’t. It all depends. That’s as far as she knew about them.

“Oh nothing, it was my Force vision during meditation. I visioned I was on my home planet of Pantora. I haven’t actually been there. But it was snowy, and rainy, and very cold. A snow storm of sorts. Then I saw fire, I visioned my home planet was on fire, my people could have been in some sort of trouble”. Kegari explained. It was hard explaining visions to others, not only because they were unexplainable but because she felt that they were personal.

She confided in the Zeltron, she thought she could help her through it somehow although she’s not a Master.“I feel helpless at times, especially when the visions are so... disturbing”. Kegari sighed. She didn’t know what else she could do, without training she wasn’t much of a help. However, with training she has the potential to be a strong ally in helping to protect the Galaxy.

The Jedi looked at Kegari for a while, rubbing her own forehead, unsure what to say. The Pantoran's challenge was more difficult—she didn't know what to make of it. Compared to that, the ability to touch an object and see its history and vivid moments was much simpler, even though Kori had her own struggles with it.

The Zeltron too was reluctant to share her experiences with other people, but the young Pantoran had overcome that reservation. The Zeltron knew how much that sort of trust meant, because she had made that choice herself once. For Kori back in the day, that was "trust bordering on desperation".

"I think I understand what you're going through. I had a similar problem, not with visions, but..." Kori took a deep breath before adding quickly: "I sensed the history of an object when I was in its presence. It was tough to control at times, but at least I knew what exactly I was seeing."

She paused, thinking how to continue and turn the conversation to the problem at hand: "What you see is different. It could be a premonition, a memory, an alternate path, a warning to stay away..." the Zeltron shrugged. "Or maybe a metaphor. I wish I had an answer for you, like my Master had for me. But visions may take a Master to interpret correctly, and even then it's a game of chance."

Kori rested her palms on the stone behind her, leaning on her arms: "Feeling helpless is also something I'm all too familiar with. Back on Coruscant, I felt like an outcast. Even here, on Ajan Kloss, I feel that way too, sometimes. It takes time... To adjust. To realize that not everything in the Universe depends on our actions. Yet at the same time, to recognize when, where, and how our actions can benefit the Universe."

A dreamy expression with a faint smile appeared on her face when she said that. As if she hadn't been saying it by herself, but rather repeating someone else's thoughts said to her years ago. She turned to the Pantoran again: "Right now, Kegari, I think the best thing you can do is settle on Ajan Kloss. Meet other Padawan Learners and Jedi Knights. Wait for the results of your midichlorian test."

The Zeltron smiled warmly: "Something tells me the results will be positive. If so, it won't be long before you'll be learning the ways of the Force as a Padawan..." Kori hesitated. "From someone else... Or from me, if the Force wills it." It was a tough thing to say. The Zeltron liked Kegari and found much of her former self in the young Pantoran. Yet taking a Padawan was a big decision... and a responsibility that Kori didn't feel she was ready for. But only time would tell.

Kegari decided to stay in Ajan Kloss, she wasn’t in any hurry to go anywhere, so she may as well stay, and take the Zeltron’s advice. She decided it was best, not only for her training but also to stay out of danger as well.

Beep Beep. Kegari heard a unfamiliar beeping sound. She looked around, to find that it was her com-link ringing. She never had a com-link before she came here, and how did she get it? She never remembered anyone giving it to her. She pressed the button and began to speak. “Hello”? Kegari said into the speaker.

“Greetings Kegari, this is a medical droid and your results came back, please report to the medbay inside the temple”. The droid spoke through the com-link. Kegari sighed and acknowledged what the droid had said. “Very well”. Kegari signed off and turned the com-link off.

She then turned to the Zeltron and sighed, she wasn’t sure if this was something that she needed to face alone, she took the test alone and now she needed to face the results whatever they were alone as well.

“I will be back”. Kegari sighed as she headed to the temple alone, as this was something she would have to do alone. She didn’t know what the results were although she and Kori both have their own suspicions that she is indeed a Force sensitive being.

Before the Zeltron could proceed to meditate, a comlink beeped nearby. It definitely wasn't Kori's, so there's only one option. Aparently, the Pantoran had been summoned back to the Temple. "Good luck, Kegari," the Jedi smiled to her with her warmes smile yet. "May the Force be with you. I feel that our paths will cross again. If not here, then at the Jedi Temple." With that, the Zeltron nodded, looked at the valley and closed her eyes again.

By then, Kori had almost forgotten some of the more mundane problems, such as the dirt on her clothes after slipping up multiple times during training. With a sigh, she'd end her meditation not too long after Kegari would leave for the Temple. The Zeltron definitely needed a shower and a new set of clothes.
