Jack sat in the center of the training room lost in a meditative trance. After his last couple of escapades through space he felt like he needed to work on his training so put up a notice on the notice board in hopes that some other padawan learned will show up at the time he designated. Placed in a circle around the room where various automated training turrets and droids. Today he was going to train in form three, mainly the technique regarding blocking and deflecting blaster fire. To Jack this was a necessary skill for all Jedi to have in their repertoire especially against stormtrooper blaster fire. Jack would also take this opportunity to touch up on his defensive style

He made sure to invite his fellow Padawan Anara to the session. The young man had not seen her since the trio's excursion to tatooine a few weeks ago to find a Krayt Pearl for his lightsaber. Since his official tutalage under Master Lynn had begun he had become to busy to go on out of trips with Anara and Adun.

Anara opened the door to the train room and entered to see her fellow padawan and friend Jack meditating in the middle of the room. She had gladly skipped her current lesson in order to join him as it seems hadn't made much time before. Instead of announcing her presence she sat down in front of him and went in to trance like him. She sat there hoping he would eventually sense her.

Aodán had caught the message that Jack had put up on the notice board announcing the training for Form III at 16:00 and considering it was a style that Aodán was hoping to possibly work on he knew he had to check it out. So the young man waited until the appropriate time, meditating within his room until 16:00 drew near. With a heavy breath Aodán brought himself to his feet and made his way to the training room. The door opened and much to his surprise it seemed that two others were already in there. The first was the younger man that Aodán knew to be Jack, but the togruta was a new face. Aodán's gaze lingered upon the two as the meditated in silence within the center of the room. A light little smirk danced upon his lips as he made his way off to the side. He could feel a connection between the pair and Aodán felt it might not be best to encroach, especially when the young man only knew one of the two parties.

Settling in upon his knees Aodán would gently place his hands upon his thighs. A slow breath soon fell from his lips as the junior padawan closed his eyes and opened his senses. Letting the force flow through him and him through the force. Letting himself go while he waited for the training to begin or at the very least he was addressed.

moments passed in silence as the three presumably meditated before using the force to jump up into the air from where he was sitting back into a standing position. " Right" he began "I have called you here to practice our defensive skill against blaster fire, mainly form III" he paused the gesture to the main automated training turrets played around the room. " I am sure you guys are lightly trained in this form already so it wont hurt to brush up on it"

Anara jumped up as she heard Jack suddenly speak,"Uhh, oh right! Yeah, let's begin",she got up and drew her lightsaber and sparked it up. She turned to Jack,"Could we possibly turn the settings a little higher? I'm a little more skilled than you might think"

Aodán could feel Jack as he began to gather himself up for the jump and opened his eyes as he rose up into the air. A little smile lingering upon his lips at the reaction that Anara managed in her moment of surprise. Shifting a little within his position Aodán slowly brought himself up to his feet, "That sounds good to me Jack." Aodán stated as soon as he was standing, "I haven been looking forward to learning some of form III since I got here." The junior padawan added with a grin. His eyes darting between the other two for a moment before turning about to grab one of the training sabers within the room. After all Aodán was incredibly new to this and hasn't had enough training to be ready to make his own saber yet. Aodán's attention would return to the pair as Anara spoke once again about setting the skill a little higher. The older padawan's response being almost immediate, "Maybe just for when you're up Miss. I don't have any training in this form so I am going to need it on the basic setting."

Anara was a bit overconfident in herself but a little bit of whipping will put a curb in that. Jack took a remote from his robe pocket the upon clicking a button the turrets whirred to life and without warning started to shoot at the Jedi. The turrets and droids where of course to low so if they where to be hit they would only receive a nasty sting. He gathered the force again and back flipped backwards through the air igniting his saber (cleverly hidden in his sleeve) to know away a few bolts in all directions wasting no time in his getting form in together hopeful the other padawan had done the same

Without warning, blasted bolts were flying in her direction and was able to ignite her saber just in time to deflect them. She stood in place, as is the way of Form III. She had to stand her ground as defence was the primary purpose of Soresu. She remained steadfast and deflected the bolts back at their senders with ease.

Aodán could feel a brief ripple in the force just before Jack hit that button and all of the droids and turrets kicked to life and began to fire. That intent he felt gave him time to ignite his lightsaber just as their younger companion flung himself into the air. Aodán knew the form in just the bare basics of its premise and little else. So he tried to focus on what little he knew, small movements to conserve energy and keeping it tight. It seemed simple enough as he was going through the records but with the live shots being fired Aodán found himself struggling.

For every shot he managed to deflect there would be three or four that passed by his guard. The sharp sting from the first hit drew a sharp inhale from the boy. The second was like fire upon his skin and he made a even sharper sound of pain as it had caught him in the leg. The young lad stumbled a bit and his guard suffered more because of it. Yet this was almost to be expected as he openly admitted he had almost no training in this form, let alone with a lightsaber. But even the pain would serve as a good teacher eventually to him. As it was better to get hit by these non lethal rounds and get used to the stresses of combat than be thrown in the deep end. Aodán just needed to focus, to push past the pain and try to let the force guide him. If only those shots didn't hurt so much that his concentration kept getting thrown off.

Seeing that Aodán was struggling the padawan pressed a button on the remote promptly slowing down the turret fire to a stop allowing the padawans to catch their breaths. Extinguishing his lightsaber he flipped it up and down in his hand " Remember Aodán it's not all about technique, its equal parts form and force ability, let the force guide your senses to detect the incoming turret. but don't get cocky. In a real combat situation you wont be able to block and deflect every blaster bolt that comes at you so keep moving and use your surroundings to your advantage". He recited what he haqd learned from his master having a hope that this piece of information would benefit him

Anara shut off her lightsaber and held her sword hand against her hip as she listened to Jack. After he had finished she added to what he had to say,"Yeah, what he said. If you know you won't be able to move your blade in time to block the incoming bolts, you could always dodge it. Many of the more agile don't even need to block, they just jump and dodge them. That's something I'm also trying to do" she smiled and turned to Jack,"Oh and perhaps I could show you some of those acrobatic moves I just mentioned. I could use some critique"

Aodán for obvious reasons was in more need of recovery time than the other two. After all he had taken quite a few hits even if he managed to keep getting up to just get hit again. So when the reprieve was offered he was happy to take it. Using the time to regain his stamina a little and listen to his two companions. So with the sound of his own training saber extinguishing the junior padawan found himself moving to sit for a moment. His chest would rise and fall, getting his breath back and recovering himself. But those eyes of his gleamed as the pair offered him their advice. For ultimately Aodán was notoriously bad when it came to garnering information and any tips or core practices they could offer he would happily adopt. "I see, well I am not the most agile person. Which is why I want to learn this form as I know enough to know I wouldn't be very skilled with Ateru. But dodges I can manage I think." The young man's excitement was clearly growing and one could practically see his mind at work. Playing back what had just transpired within his mind for a moment or two. "Alright, very well then." He added as he rose back up to his feet while Anara turned to speak to Jack about her acrobatics.

" You should tone down your acrobatics and the Ataru form and not recommended for prolonged evasion of blaster fire ". He said simply with a small smile " but your form Anara is getting better and your form is tighter which makes for a better defence ". He clicked the buttom the re-activate the turrets although this time they fired in a more erratic pattern in an attempt the throw the padawan off their game.

"The whole point of Ataru was quick and powerful strikes, I tried to combine that with Soresu a bit. It's still a little hard to deflect blaster bolts while flying through the air. And don't know how the other Jedi could do that, but I would be willing to learn that later perhaps"

" but your form Anara is getting better and your form is tighter which makes for a better defence ", Anara was happy to hear that and smiled. She readied herself once more as Jack re-activated the remote. The bolts were fired quicker and more erratically and was hard to deflect. She found herself dodging them more than actually deflecting them.

After awhile it became more and more difficult to the point that she was starting to miss and was frequently struck, though she kept going. She was still very stubborn and never gave up, no matter how incredibly painful the bolts were.

Much as before Aodán ignited his training saber just before the button was actually pressed to bring to the turrets to life and begin the barrage. Yet it seemed interestingly enough that his igniting of the saber was the only thing that really matched the previous round of shooting. Indeed he seemed a little calmer than before after taking in both of their advise and he made a good showing of putting it into practice. After all Aodán was certainly skilled in sensing through the force and when he was not so focused on the form he had learned but instead let the force flow through him things seemed to serve him better. It was just as his tarasin mentors back home had told him time and time again while he trained with him. One must observe not see, he need not limit his senses in life so why limit them through the force. This was where Aodán's skills shown through as a result of years of training before his discovery, and this is where he would show case his skills.

Letting his senses reach out he could feel the motions of the turrets through the chaos and to some extent he could perceive when the shots were coming at him and less when they were coming around him. It gave the young Aodán a greater means of conserving his energy as he sent bolts flying harmlessly away from him as opposed to his previous showing of getting flustered and expending more of his reserves. Only his footwork really seemed to give him problems as he tried to incorporate more dodges into his defense and found that his senses and his movements would be thrown off a little. Leading him to be struck more times than when he kept his movements tight and only a few shots slipped passed his more focused guard.

The turrets pattern of fire changed eratically, at one momwnt firing wildly in the direction of the padawans to more precise shots aimed at vital spots. The change in the attack would encourage the padawan to be ready foe anything that might cime their way and be ready on a seconda norice, their reflexes depended on it

On that momwnr the floor began to shake ablnd shift below them. Forming a small maze of walls with the odd extra turret dotted around the area for effect

As the firing pattern became a bit more precise, it became a lot more predictable and in no time Anara was back to blocking and deflecting the bolts instead of ducking and dodging them. She thought she was alright until the floor started moving and formed a maze. She walked around the maze a bit while the remote still followed and shot at her. Not sure of what Jack had planned, she called out,"Jack! What now!?"

The shift in the firing pattern of the turrets was actually a great benefit for Aodán in quite the different way than the erratic patterns. For the youth his mind hand gone into a near meditative state work through by pushing his senses into the force as he had been trained to do by the Tarasin. He had never really used his force sense in this manner but Aodán was beginning to get a feel for an almost natural flow that poured through him. Although he had been hit a few times that was due more to his own physical skills being lacking than not understanding where the bolt would be coming from. So as the shots became more precise and less erratic Aodán found it easier and easier to deflect the bolts. Yet oddly enough that sensation of the flow was beginning to elude him as the torrent of firing shots began to dwindle.

Still Jack had more tricks up his sleeve it seemed and Aodán could feel a shift before the floor began to turn into the maze itself. Realizing he was on a panel that was about to rise the young man shifted his weight and stepped aside so he was not in danger of being thrown off balance. "Hmm interesting..." The padawan mused with a smirk mere moments before he heard Anara call out to the other padawan. Aodán for his part took a moment to kneel and close his eyes, focusing the force on his senses for the moment to try and mentally map out where the others were in terms of distance from him before starting to wander the makeshift maze.
