BIOGRAPHY

Growing up in one of the larger housing districts on Corellia usually had a few implications behind it. Low income areas tended to house ruffians and dealers in illicit substances, as people needed to earn a living somehow. Regardless of how questionable their income may have been. However Garza never did fall in with the rougher groups and gangs. Most of his time was spent helping out at his parents repair shop mostly working on smaller repulsorlift vehicles. Speeder bikes and other personal craft for local transportation. The closes him and his family ever really got to crime was borrowing from loan sharks from time to time to help float their business by. Thankfully his parents were smart enough to not miss payments with the loan sharks or piss away the money they borrowed and invested that money into the family business and increase their profits. But sometimes business was exrtemely slow, hence the need for the loans on occasion. This also meant that him and his family would get to keep their kneecaps, and due to their reputation of being able to pay what they owe kept them from any more serious incidents. Garza started out helping his father by just holding the flash light or helping his mom carry heavy parts around the shop. Eventually he began working alongside his father repairing repulsor engines and the like.

Garza’s teenage years were still spent helping out with the family business, however he did obtain at some point in his youth, a natural inclination towards racing. Swoop racing specifically. The money he made from racing was good and though he didn’t always win it was usually a safe bet that he would. Most of the time he would only lose due to not having the money for more high-end parts. With his skills and reflexes gained from racing he would come to be sponsored by a local gang to increase his winnings as well as bring profit to his sponsors. Garza developed a bit of a reputation within CorSec as well due to his shenanigans with swoop racing and with several traffic violations he still managed to not let them put a stop to his fun albeit he had to ride more cautiously. At a certain point his sponsors began getting too rough with other gangs and for a little while there were several street fights that broke out because of it. Garza was lucky enough to not get involved in them but he still managed to sever ties with them. The only reason there weren’t repercussions for him running out on the gang that sponsored him was because they were wiped out by rivals shortly after. Apparently things were not going their way in those final days but Garza wouldn’t have known, all he did was race and kept their relationship as just that.

After Garza’s swoop racing career was put on hold and he was now entering his early adulthood, he needed a job. He enjoyed repairing vehicles and other mechanical devices. He just didn’t want to make a living by it, it was just a hobby and he wanted to keep it that way. It took him a while to get hired but when he did, it was by a company not local to Corellia. They were just passing by to refit and resupply and maybe take on a few recruits before receiving their next mission. Heckman & Co were a mercenary/military group that operated in the outer rim worlds. Usually taking on jobs by local townships that didn’t have the security force to protect themselves properly from well equipped pirate gangs. So they would hire H&C to conduct raids on pirate hideouts. Other jobs the company took on were protective details for local leaders. Though the job paid pretty well, there wasn’t really much personal time to go out and spend that hard earned money. Which was a good thing, but sometimes morale dictated you blow a large sum of money on a ridiculously expensive night out to the cantina or one of the casinos. Garza instead spent his credits on his gear, his armor issued to him by the company was fairly standard but he soaked more money into his helmet than the rest of his suit. As well as his speeder bike, which was tricked out with mods for maneuverability and speed with little to no room for any flair.

Garza’s main task within Heckman & Co was as a Scout at first. Performing recon, gathering basic intelligence, and standard pathfinding tasks. Eventually he would move on to a more Hunter-Killer role within the company. Working with a small group of people to raid pirate compounds and capture/kill their leaders and bosses. Most of the time Garza would run point when kicking in doors much to his own dismay at being the first one shot at. After working with company for half a decade he began wondering what else there was to do. He was growing bored. Sure, the pay was getting better as time went on but the jobs were also getting harder. And he wasn’t quite sure he believed in what he was doing. Sure he was going after pirates most of the time but some jobs were just too damn morally vague for his tastes. So he left Heckman & Co to pursue something that to him seemed a bit more fulfilling. Not financially, but morally. He had the money, he had all he wanted gear-wise. He just wanted to be more than he was. He left when H&C hit the spaceport back on Corellia, another refit and resupply as they were heading from galactic north to galactic south, the opposite end of the galaxy for a high paying job they had accepted. He packed all his gear and left to go visit home for a bit. After a few weeks visiting his family he went out and bought a cheap light-freighter with the money he saved up, and stowed his gear and speederbike inside. His next stop would be to join the Rangers.
