Dregg Starr

Dregg Starr had set off before the other Mandalorians. They had just got done killing some Nagai pirates on Mandalore and were now doing two different attacks. One on a ship and the other here, the pirate base on Concordia. Dregg had decided to scout out the base, get some intel before they attacked. He’d landed his ship around 5 miles away from the base, jetpacked around 3 miles and then walked a mile to his current vantage point. He was a good mile away from the base. It wasn’t particularly large, enough to hold a fair amount of pirates though. It was at a fraction of it’s total manpower. There were around 6 guards at the front gates, two watchtowers with two snipers inside. Luckily, Dregg was high above them and hadn’t been spotted. His cape was wrapped around him to make sure his armour wasn’t shining and drawing attention to him. He crouched down, his visor zoomed in on the base. There was a large two story building, that’s where the pirates kept their gear. There was also a cave system that had been gated off, the gate was open. He scanned around some more and saw the Rancor. It was a large beast, being handled by several or so men. They were feeding it some scraps, making sure it was still hungry and it sure did look hungry. Dregg shook his head and sighed. The base was fenced off, they had been here for quite a while. It was situated against the wall of a mountain, hard to get in from the back. But it could be done by that sabotage droid. He nodded as he formulated a bit of a plan to present to whoever came. He was currently thinking about having a sniper up here, provide cover and keep the heat on them. They could jetpack in, take them by surprise. If Eisa and Curse came they could use their AT-RT for a frontal assault. That thing could do some major damage. He nodded as he thought to himself. He’d have to see who came.

The gruff Mandalorian turned and begun to walk back towards his ship. After a mile he’d use his jetpack to get back there. He had some gear in the ship which could be used well. Soon he’d arrive back at his Firespray 31 and board it. He begun unloading a few of the weapons on board, grabbing his E-11 Sniper rifle and RT-97C heavy blaster rifle. Dregg leaned the rifles against his ship and went back in, pulling out a box of ammo for his amban rifle. Then grabbing the explosives he held on his ship, 2 thermal detonators which were locked in a padded metal box with 2 smoke grenades. He liked to keep his explosives in a padded box to stop them from moving, made them less susceptible to blowing up. Dregg sat on the ground, placing his explosives in front of him. Now, he waited for everyone to come. Using his comms to put his co-ordinates on the Mandalorian channel so he could be found. The Nagai wouldn’t be able to get on the comms and he doubted they even knew of their existence.

Kyp had landed well aways from Dregg's Firespray, wanting to be as inconspicuous as possible so as not to alert the pirates to their location. He wasn't one to shy away from a fight but getting shot out of the sky wasn't his idea of fun. As it was, he came upon Dregg's ship, rifle in hand.

"Get a look at that rancor? I've never taken one out myself." the Lepi asked Dregg.

Tavaran would approach the pair of ships, his black armor seemingly diminishing the sunlight around him as he walked, cane in hand. His visor would scan the area, and the hand not on the cane would lift to show it was clear and he meant no harm. "You two wouldn't happen to be the cause for what happened in Sundari?" he asked, his tone hopeful. "If so, I am here to offer my services."

Talons groans, hoping he didn't agree to do this with a bunch of fanatics or amateurs. All he wanted at the moment was to be doing with job with his close Vods; hopefully @Dolworth would be here soon. Regardless, nobody's noticed him leaning silently against the Firespray--not yet anyways. One's checking weapons, the others are starting with the small talk.

He eyes cautiously the other black armored Mandalorian; it was not a common color. Black meant Justice, and it was a high and true goal to seek. Hopefully this man would prove he was worth the shade. Regardless, it immediately places a bit of distrust towards the man, whether it be dislike, jealousy, annoyance. Were any of them to notice Talon, he'd just nod at them and say nothing; he wasn't there to make friends.

His stealth armor isn't equipped with a jetpack, but he's come with a light assortment of weapons; two WESTAR-35's and the E-11s on your back. With that in mind, it'd probably be best to get moving as quickly as possible; shouldn't be holding everyone up by walking. Talon began stalking away from the ship, passing the three talking to one another and heading in the apparent direction of the base.

The idea of a Sarlacc isn't too inviting, but as Talon looked down at the base, it didn't seem to heavily manned. Should be a few easy shots, assuming they avoided any Sarlacc complications, which wasn't guaranteed. The others would be there soon, and if they needed to convey a point, your comms were always open. Talon had had enough talking, enough sitting; it was time for action, for Mandalore.

Dregg Starr

Dregg looked up to see the Lepi from the firefight against the Nagai. He’d been a good shot from what he’d seen. Dregg stood up and walked to the rifles he’d leaned against his ship “Got something for you kid” Dregg grabbed his Amphan from the side and gave it a wipe down. Making sure the rifle was clean and it was all in order. Dregg walked back towards Kyp and displayed the gun to him.

“E-11 Sniper rifle. Packs a hell of a punch. You could use it with your A280. Set up a nice sniper position, there’s a few good places. I was up there. Rain hell on ‘em”

Dregg said looking over to the newcomer. Another Mandalorian, asking if they were responsible for what happened at Sundari.

“Yeah...a group of us. We must have killed almost thirty pirates. We’ve split up, there’s a ship to take and this base up ahead. I’ve got a plan. They’ve got a rancor though. But, if I can hack it then you sure as sh** can.”

The old Mandalorian had a gruff edge to his voice. A weathered sound. He noticed a third Mandalorian walking by them. More help, who was not staying around to hear the plan though. No matter, Dregg could get him on the comms. Dregg tuned into the right frequency for Talon to hear him.

“Alright, I got that feller on comms. So, guy on comms that went ahead. An’ everyone else. Here’s the idea. Well plan. There ain’t too much of us, but they’ve got a skeleton crew. I reckon there’s a good few inside that building though. Then there’s that Rancor. I’ve got a bunch of thermal detonators.”

Dregg took a short break to make sure everybody was listening, he cleared his throat before he begun to speak again.

“So, we sneak on up there. Take them by surprise. One of us distracts the Rancor as the rest kill the men. Kyp and someone else, focus on the men coming out of their little barracks building. Then, I place all of my thermal detonators in a dead body. Get the Rancor’s attention, hopefully he comes for the body. If it goes to plan, it’ll eat the body and get blown to smithereens by all four of the thermals. Then we clear the place up of any remaining pirates. Plan might change depending on who shows. Anyways...what’s your input? And before anyone asks why we don’t hop in our ships and blow them to kingdom come. Well, we want to claim our home world back right? We’re gonna need a base and this is a good start.”

The Mando nodded, waiting for everybody’s reply. He’d said a lot, laid down a lot of things. The plan wasn’t the greatest, but what else could they do against a rancor? Those things were tough and a well trained rancor was known to be able to kill even the most capable of teams. Known to even kill Jedi at some points in time. Hopefully the plan would be good enough to kill the thing. The pirates would be easy, they weren’t trained well, much like other pirates. The man was concerned about the two new Mandalorians who had joined he and Kyp. Hoping they weren’t green. Dregg had a lot of experience, he was getting old. A Mandalorian had to be a good warrior to reach their 50s. Dregg realised that he had forgot to introduce himself to the new people

“Oh, and for those who don’t know. The name’s Dregg, Dregg Starr.”

It had been a rocky ride since that little gathering on Mandalore. She wasn't sure how many of the armored fellows she had pissed off by speaking like she had, but she wasn't one to sit by and not speak up when she noticed something wrong, or stupid, going on. Either way, there were some how hadn't thought too badly of her interference. She had spoken with a few random Mandalorians while in the city, and one had let slip to her that her skills might be useful here. They also thought that it might be good for her, which she couldn't really disagree with. Shooting things always helped, and while she might not be able to understand their language or their ways, she did know her way around a blaster.

She was just in time to hear the plan being spelled out, and seeing an opportunity, she spoke up. While she might have been unsure of whether or not she should have spoken at the gathering, there was no doubt now. If they were going into combat then every soldier had the right to ask questions, and every captain had the duty to explain things well enough to help them reach the end of the fight with their lives intact. At least that was the way her sergeant had taught her, and how she had operated. Guess she would know soon enough how these bucketheads operated.

"These men we clear out before dealing with the Rancor, what's to keep the Rancor from going after them?" She didn't wait for anyone else to ask, she'd let them have their say once she was satisfied with the plan, but not before. If she was going to fight with them she was going to do it right. "Do we clear out their bodies when they're down or just try to herd it towards the rigged body?" With eyes on her, she would raise her right hand in greeting and flash a toothy grin. "Name's Jester, one of the red armored fellows asked me to help out here."

The cane tapped the ground twice. "Wonderful, then it appears I'm in the right place." His visor would follow Talon briefly, so many of his kind gathered here, so much beskar to gather if they fell. Even with the cane, he walked like a warrior who had only ever known combat.

He listened to the plan with patience, both hands resting on the head of the cane. He even let the young woman speak, ah the magic of youth. "Once inside, I'll distract the Rancor. The beasts are top heavy, you knock them down and killing them becomes much.. easier. And for those who survive this ordeal, the name is Tavaran."

Kyp almost felt his eyes water up. An E-11 rifle? He'd never shot one before but he sure as hell was looking forward to it. This is why he only preferred working with other Mandalorians.

"Hell yes." Kyp said softly to Dregg as a way of thanks. He spent a few more moments listening to the plan, agreeing with all of it before heading up to a rocky outcrop to take point with his newfound rifle. He couldn't wait to start blasting.

"Just let me know when to shoot. These guys aren't too tough from what I remember fighting them." Kyp commed over to his fellow teammates, preparing his sniper's nest.

Talon groaned as he realized another person, a "kid" at that, was going to help out with the sniping; no need to have two people doing the exact same thing. With that, as he cased the target, he slung his sniper back on his back and pulled out both WESTARs. He had no idea why this Dregg character was making the plan, but it sounded respectable. Still, he didn't need a bunch of other people to help kill one man.

Taking care to keep out of site, Talon slipped closer and closer to the base. It didn't matter if they had thermal scans; scatterweave should be able to take care of that. He headed right for the front gate, activating his cloaking device before stepping around a rock. The rancor had to have been contained or he'd eat them all right then and there; it wasn't much of a problem.

Taking care to stay at walking speed and maintain a good distance between any prying eyes, he climbed the fence, counting down the seconds until the cloaking device faded out. You hit zero as you step into the open watchtower door and begin climbing. It was quite dark and a bit of a height, but you soon see the sniper staring out the viewing hole, watching for any who might endeavor to attack.

The pirate didn't realize anyone was watching him until an arm was around his throat; he slumped the the ground in moments, eyes closed. Talon took his rifle and strap it to his back; might come in handy in the future. Then he tapped his coms; a bit of static fills the air, nothing too revealing; what those on the comms might here, however, is simple; "
I'm in." He grabs his E-11s and aims directly at the barrel of the other sniper's gun, peeking out from his watchtower.

Now it was a matter of waiting for the fireworks.

Dregg nodded and listened to the questions of the woman before him. Handing the sniper rifle over to Kyp so he could make good use of it during the oncoming battle.

“Well, if they’ve trained the rancor well enough it shouldn’t attack the pirates. I mean, I saw that thing and it had around three handlers. Their pet was primed and ready by the looks of things. They were preparing because they got a tip off by their crew in Sundari. Well, we just try and heard that thing towards the rigged body.”.

He said picking up his box of thermals and putting them underneath his right arm. His helmet looked upon Tavaran and nodded.

“Perhaps we can knock it over then, we’ll see what’s feasible when the fighting begins. This is gonna be a fluid pla-“

Dregg remained quiet for a second whilst he listened to Talon’s quick comm message.

“Okay, our stranger from earlier is already in. Like I was saying. Fluid plan. The feller from earlier, already in. Alright, sit tight we’ll be there soon. I’ll contact you when we’re there, soon as we’re there fire upon whoever you can. It’ll surely confuse them getting shot from within”.

How this stranger got in, Dregg sure as hell didn’t know. But, he admired the bravery of the act. Hopefully his vod would be fine on his own until they arrived there. Dregg walked up to his other blaster, the the RT-97C heavy blaster. Picking it up and slinging it across his shoulders. Armed and ready he begun to make his way towards the base.

“Alright, let’s move out. Kyp, you fire whenever you need to fire. Pretty much as soon as they get out of the door of their barracks, start blasting.”.

Dregg walked, his furred cape flowing behind him as he did, the armour and weaponry weighing him down some. But, he could handle it. Dregg was always a dedicated man who persevered no matter how tough things got. Although he could jetpack his way there, he acknowledged that Jester didn’t have one. Noticing how she wasn’t wearing any beskar’gam like the rest of them. Noticing the beskar backplating, his eyes narrowed under his helmet. He had a keen eye for it, having worked with it for most of his life and forging with it.

“Jester, you’re an outsider right. What brought you here?”.

He had no qualms about this he knew that other Mandalorians did, so, it was better to get this matter out of the way now rather than later. And probably to discuss it with Dregg who, as a realist, accepted that the Mandalorians would need some outside assistance if they were to retake Concordia. Although the beskar on her back was incredibly suspicious, maybe she had a good story for how she acquired it. Hoping she did for her own sake. Beskar couldn’t be in the hands of an outsider.

Cigo like others had heard the call and eagerly came calling as soon as he could to aid his vod in retaking their ancient home. He'd just finished up handling a job in the rim, so it'd taken him some time to finally arrive back in Mandalorian space. Once close he radioed ahead to find out where he could be useful and turns out there was an operation on his own home turf. He angled the Fleet Venom to come and offer any help he could. He located the coordinates of the operation and set down as quickly as he dared to not give away their position.

His boots crunched against the under brush as he hopped down from his ship. The smells of his home slowly came to his nose and Cigo breathed deeply. It wasn't until that moment that he truly appreciated how long it had been since he'd last laid eyes on Concord Dawn. Not since he left with his mother all those years ago. Maybe the Mando would visit the grave of his father after the task was completed. Until then he had a job to do.

He approached the others just as they began to make their way out. "Sorry for the late arrival, I'm ready to put in some work though." He'd walk with the trio and allowed, from the sound of his voice, the older Mando'a to explain the basic plan. "Seems good to me, hitting them hard before they know what the kark is going on will get the job done." Cigo was kitted with his full loadout. He liked to be practical when it came to combat and the situation on the battlefield could change in an instant. He unslung his BM-548, checked the scope, and readied it. "Name's Cigo by the way, let's kick these aruetii off our lawn."

"Use their training against them, gotcha!" She replied as Dregg replied to her questions, covering the tinge of guilt she felt at that thought behind a smile. It did make her feel sad that this poor thing would end up facing such a fate, but that was the way of the Galaxy. Nothing she could do about it.

By now she was tapped into the frequency the Mandalorians were using, so when Dregg was cut off by the surprise infiltrator, she was again reminded of how much of a mixed bag these Mandalorains were. Some ordered and methodical like this Dregg seemed to be, some more impulsive like the one on the comms.

Falling into step behind Dregg as they moved out, she pulled her carbine out and kept it ready, now that they were officially on the job. "Let's just saw it was a friend's last wish." She shrugged as she responded to Dregg's question, checking her weapons as they walked. "This old man hired me a few months ago, and guess he was one of you, because he got the call that the bloke on Mandalore had sent out. Asked me to stand in as his proxy, seemed to think it would do me some good. So here I am, the sucker who can get sweet-talked into anything." Done with the carbine, she finished checking the clip and shot the masked man a smirk. "He also offered up a big ol chunk of credits, gotta keep food on the table."

Tavaran kept his pace, even whilst using the cane. Ahh, how the young sought death. Visor would scan the guard towers. "The pup should target the rest of the guards in the towers." He said over their comms, perhaps talking to Kyp or even the infiltrator. "Don't want a decent plan getting kriffed up too quickly by young with a death wish."

There was a slight laugh as he stepped near Jester. "Alright, Outsider, we're going to see if you're worthy of that beskar."

Automated flight plan in place, the fiery haired spacer handed over the controls of the ship out of manual and onto the controls of the preprogramed sequence that Curse had devised to automate the ship's activities as it passed over the base of operations for the Nagai Pirates that had established themselves over Mandalore and Concordia. Her hand reaching over to the empty co-pilot's seat to snatch up her belt and holster, and proceeded to fasten it around her waist as she made her way towards the rear of the ship and down towards the cargo hold.

Giving her blaster pistol a quick once over, and checking the charge was still good, the pilot made her way towards the loading bay area of the Rim hopper, a wild grin flashing on her features as she clocked Curse dutifully preparing the ATRT for what was perhaps going to be one of the daftest ideas that had crossed the Ex-Jedi's mind. "Reckon the repulsor coils will work?" Eisa spoke out as tapped on the buzz droid's casings, and tried to turn to droid's sight away from the cargo crates she then moved towards - Futile as it was, knowing all too well the little buzz droid's penchant for finding stuff that in many respects, really shouldn't be kept on the same ship as the destructive little droid.

Retrieving one of the rocket launchers that she had claimed as the spoils from the earlier assault on the Pirates encamped at the Mandalorian Palace, out from the cargo crate and strapped it onto the stowage racks of the walker. Her emerald eyes narrowing as she looked over the hastily added coils that Curse had grafted onto the legs of the ATRT, from what she could tell they looked secure enough, and with every hope in the Force that they would serve the function of quickly slowing down a rapid descent.

Straddling up onto the war machine, the spacer took several deep breaths as she readied herself, before looking over to her crew mate. "Right, Remember hold on tight, and put those coils onto full when we get about ten meters off from the ground" Eisa spoke out as she mentally counted down to when the cargo ramp would open and the ATRT and it's two riders would be ejected from the Rim Hopper as it flew over the pirate's base.

She would be lying if the following laugh wasn't one of nerves, as far as her hair brained schemes and strategies went this was certainly one to stand out on the borderline crazed, but if there was one thing she knew is that a key element of any battle was that of surprise - and, nothing more could catch the pirates off guard, having Both Eisa and Curse basically drop themselves right into the middle, free falling atop of an ATRT walker! Hell even the Mandalorians wouldn't see this one coming.

As the Rim hopper closed in on the pirate base, the boarding ramp started to grind open, sirens and flashing lights filling the cargo hold as wind started to whip throughout the ships interior. With a sudden lunge forward on the control sticks, the fiery haired spacer piloted the walker out of the cargo hold and into the skies above the pirates base.

Curse had been humming cheerily to herself as she went about her work, eager to put her master's plan into effect. When it came to battle Eisa thought like a sabotage droid, and that suited the little Pistoeka just fine. As the red haired spacer tapped on one of her shell casings the droid turned to look up at her.

//The repulsor coils are perfectly functional, they'll work just fine.// She assured her master before tilting her head slightly. //The potential for failure comes from the grafting job. There's about a 19% chance they'll break off on ignition and leave us to fall to our deaths.// She perked up a bit. //Well your death anyway. My shell should be able to absorb the impact. But if you do lose functionality I'll be very distressed.// With those semi-reassurances out of the way Curse would climb up onto the controls along with Eisa, making the final preparations and powering up the walker.

"Right, Remember hold on tight, and put those coils onto full when we get about ten meters off from the ground" Eisa reiterated the plan. Given the tone of her voice she seemed uncharacteristically nervous. Perhaps Cure's playful reminder of unlikely death scenarios hadn't been the best option.

//Don't worry Eisa,// The buzz droid tried to assure her master. //I was designed to latch on to starfighters moving considerably faster. This will be child's play...// To give a last bit of inspiration Curse activated one more thing she had prepared for the battle, remotely triggering the spacer's personal playlist to blare from the Rim Hopper's speakers as they jumped out of the ship and made freefall for the base below.

Curse remained calm as they fell, calculating the correct distance and activating the repulsor coils at the last second to avoid giving their enemies the chance to fire on them. The coils shuddered, threatening to break free as the Pistoeka had warned, but they held, and the AT-RT landed with a thunderous boom right in the center of the base behind the main gate, legs crouching down to a near sitting position before rising up again. The pirates at the front gate, completely stunned by the sudden appearance of the scout walker, slowly turned to face the machine, dumbstruck. Curse took full advantage of their surprise, opening fire and blasting four of them the meaty bits immediately, leading the others to panic and flee. The pirates' attention was now squarely on the crazed pair on the walker, with men rushing from the caves and two=story building to take up positions and fire on the AT-RT. Curse engages it's engines and started running across the front of the base, avoiding their fire and keeping their focus on her and Eisa, chittering like a lunatic the entire time.

Well the nerves surrounding the jump and landing, had quickly faded out - replaced with a surge of adrenaline and energy that was flowing through the fiery haired spacer, so much so that she had let out an enthusiastic scream and laugh as the scout walker came hurtling to the ground, before the walker suddenly jutted upwards as Curse had activated the hastily attached repulsor coils to break the fall. But they had landed, and with a slight yelp as she hit her Coccyx hard against the seat, they had landed right in the middle of the pirates base.

The Buzz droid didn't hesitate in livening up the ATRT, barely allowing for the dust cloud to settle from the impact before opening fire. Doing like wise and to keep with exploiting the sudden state of stunned inaction and confusion of the Pirates, Eisa scrambled to the back of the ATRT, reaching for and removing the missile launcher from the stowage racks. Slinging it over her shoulder and aiming it towards the main gate house.

As she squeezed the trigger, she felt her body jerk to the side as the Buzz droid launched the walker into a charge, throwing off her aim. The fired projectile careened wildly off course, narrowly missing the two storey building and instead came crashing into the fuel stores that sat off to the side, resulting in a large fire ball erupting off at the side of pirate's base, blowing a hole in the perimeter wall and fencing.

Groaning at the shot falling foul of her intended target, the spacer simply discarded the now spent launcher onto the ground, before reaching down to her belt and retrieving her blaster pistol and lightsaber. Whilst Curse piloted the walker around the base, Eisa, continued to stand on the back of the walker, snapping off several shots from her blaster pistol at the pirates who were emerging out from behind various corners, whilst her emerald hued lightsaber erupted into life to swat at and deflect the incoming blaster fire that would get too close to both her and Curse.

”Alright Cigo, nice to meet you and good to have you” Dregg said as they walked. The base was coming into view now, they had been walking for a while. Dregg listened intently to what Jester said and nodded. The beskar on her back suggested a different story, but he didn’t mention it. Laughing in agreement with Tavaran.

“Yeah, lets see if you’re wo-“

Dregg’s attention was caught by an AT-RT blasting music falling out of the sky. Inside his helmet his jaw was agape in the craziness and absurdity of what he saw. Blinking several times before seeing and hearing the loud thud and the dirt coming out of the ground. The group were close to the base now. Their element of surprise was...well the pirates were surprised now.

“Uh, I guess it can’t ge-“

Before he could finish his sentence, Eisa had already blew up the fuel stores. Luckily the building wasn’t destroyed and there was only a hole in the perimeter gate.

“Forget the plan, let’s just kill the pirates before any more crazy shit can happen”

Dregg pushed his cape to the side as he jetpacked into the air and landed in the base. Dropping his A280C and box of thermals onto the floor he readied his RT-97C he sprayed at the men coming out of the two story base killing one and stopping the others from coming out. Then he remembered the rancor. Looking to the right, the Rancor came at him with a swipe. He dodged out of the way of the Rancor, grabbing his box of thermals as he did. Jet packing into the air he got out of the way of the beast.

“Curse shoot at that thing with the AT-RT! And whatever you do, DON’T DESTROY THIS BASE! I CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, DON’T DESTROY THE BASE”

Dregg shouted over the noise of the blaster fire and chaos which was happening before him. His plan, ruined. He understood that this plan was a bit of a fluid one, but this was not what he expected. Dregg was a large mix of angry and impressed, impressed at how crazy Eisa and the Droid had been, impressed at their foolishness. Looking upon the flames caused by Eisa he gave out a sigh. Now, they needed to kill the Rancor.

Talon groaned as chaos erupted around him. Glancing at the approaching AT-RT, he fired at the sniper's rifle, the bolt piercing the metal and slicing through the barrel. He heard a curse as the man leaned out of the window to see what happened; Talon fired again. This time, instead of metal, the hot bolt hit bone and flesh, leaving little remaining of the man's head (not that there was initially much there anyways). What an idiot.

With that, he slung his E11s over his shoulder and pulled out both WESTAR's, flying down the tower and peaking out the door. There he spotted one of the Mandalorian spraying a door with blaster fire. Those hiding in the doorway were at such an angle that Talon could hit them even when the other could not; he aimed for a split second with both and fired. One bolt sparked against the wall, the other brought a man down screaming.

They quickly adjusted to both Mandalorian, and Talon couldn't see anything except for the occasional blaster peaking out to shoot his way. The Rancor was going nuts and had begun to attack the other Mandalorian before his quick and wise escape; Talon didn't want to attract that thing's attention. That AT-RT would either save the day or ruin all of their plans...not that Talon had participated in their creation too much.

Those within the building seemed to realize they had the advantage and had begun to make a perimeter, forcing Talon to stay inside the tower; there wasn't much he could do until that Rancor was taken care of and more help arrived.

Cigo easily kept pace with the other Mandos. There was little banter, but it seemed they were joined by an outsider. He guessed that the message had drawn even non-mandos looking for a bit of glory. Didn't matter much to Cigo, hell maybe the outsiders would want to become full Mandalorians once it was all over with. After all these years they could use all the help they could get rebuilding what was lost those centuries ago.

As the pirate compound came into view, Cigo readied his rifle. The small squad began to creep closer...but then Cigo heard something. Something from up above? His helmeted head turned toward the sky in time to see a freaking scout walker plummet down from a freighter. He could feel the vibration as it touched down and he sighted in with his rifle to see some crazy red-head and an old buzz droid just start to lay absolute waist to the pirates and their base. He could practically feel the frustration from his fellow mando'a. Cigo himself looked on a bit awestruck, then laughed. He laughed deep and hard.

"Well that's the spirit! No idea who that crazy chick is, but she'd make a fine Mando'a haha!" Things kicked off right and proper with that, and Cigo would follow follow suit with Dregg and jetpack into the action. He would land several feet away from Dregg and turn away from the compound, trusting his vod to handle the pirates at the door. Instead he'd open fire with his rifle to defend the fiery spacer from the few pirates behind the walker. Any pirates that popped out in her blind spot would be met with a swift shots to center mass. The field was proper chaos and Cigo had to start moving cover to cover to avoid wild blaster fire. As luck would have it the walker's initial assault had provided plenty of cover.

The only thing that would cut through the sound of the skirmish would be his fellow mandos on the comms and the ever present roar of the rancor. Yeah that was gonna be problem if not taken care of.

Oblivious to the target she wore on her back, she was about to ask what they meant by earning the beskar when all hell broke loose. She hadn't had any dealings with Mandalorians, but if AT-RTs falling out of the sky was the norm she had to wonder if any amount of credits would be worth putting herself through this. Thankfully Dregg's response made it evident that he was just as surprised by this as she was. The open mouthed gaping turned into a grin as she realized that they were just like any other army, there were some mavericks who inadvertently spiced things up.

As Dregg flew off towards the base, Jester slung her carbine across her back and pulled out her blaster, readying the ascension cable to follow. But she had to jump behind cover as blaster fire started raining down. Cursing, she peeked out from behind the outcropping she was hiding behind to take in the chaos of the battlefield. She was trying to figure out where best to help out when the Rancor made its presence felt. That changed things.

The Mandalorians seemed to be handling the pirates, but with Dregg's plan now not so feasible they needed to figure out how to deal with the Rancor, and quick. That was when her mind went into crazy idea mode. She emerged from behind cover and started running towards the Rancor, taking a circuitous route so that she wasn't rushing towards it head on. She drew her vibroblade in her free hand as she ran, and once close enough she fired the ascension cable. She fired at the Rancor's back and let the cable swing her up, landing with a painful smack on the back of its neck. She almost slipped off, but managed to slam the vibroblade in at just the last moment.

Holding on for dear life, she let her blaster slip free, and started trying to draw her carbine, a tough ask when she was trying her best not to fall off. "Fly up to the Rancor and toss me some detonators, I'll try to create us an opening." That was all she could shout out as she struggled. The plan was simple, she would try to shoot an opening through the rancor's hide and toss the explosives in. Easy, real easy.
