It was finally complete, from the hull to the engine to the main cannon. The Dominator-class Dreadnought was finally built, the largest ship in any navy within the Galaxy. It's firepower was second to none, as was it's armor and shielding, while maintaining the speed and maneuverability of the common Star Destroyer. It boasted two configurations, moving it's armor to increase it's offensive power power at the cost of weakening shield coverage and more surface area to fire upon. The bridge was entirely self-contained, moving from the usual aesthetic for most ships of it's caliber to sink down into the center of the vessel when in combat to protect the command crew while utilizing a state of the art sensor and camera system to still provide the best observation of any battlefield that it would ever appear on. By no means was it a perfect design yet it would be leaps and bounds beyond modern ships and hopefully be the inspiration for even greater innovations.
There was only one last test needed. The one major armament that would set the Dreadnought far beyond a normal ship and emphasize it's use as both short and long range artillery fire. The Legion Buster, a charged cannon that directly linked with the Hypermatter Reactor that was needed to power all 7,200 kilometers of capitol ship. If the calculations were correct, no shield or ship would ever stand up to a direct hit. Even a glancing blow could cripple even a Star Destroyer, yet until they could test the weapon then they wouldn't know for sure. That was why Kurtis had hired Ners for one final job, to bring in a Captain who had followed the rebellious Alexei against the Emperor and had taken his own Star Destroyer. The Empyreal-class was the strongest in terms of shields and firepower in any navy in the galaxy. With his plan, Kurtis would kill two birds with one stone.
Even if Captain Trynn, the renegade, were suspicious of Ners' knowledge of the project the opportunity being dangled in front of him would be too much. He would use the access codes provided when he paid the Bounty Hunter to gain access to the shipyard area with a stolen IFF, intending to steal the new ship. Embedded in that IFF frequency was a virus, very specific in nature. As the Star Destroyer closed in to a specific range, it would cede all it's controls to Kurtis and his new ship. Just in time to be used as a test target for the Legion Buster. Ners gets paid, a traitor dies, and the Emperor gets his new fully tested battleship. Considering that no word had left the site as to the ship's location or even existence, despite attempts by Jedi infiltrators and homesick workers, the only people to be entering this system were Captain Trynn and Ners. To everyone else this was a failed abandoned colony and shipyard too far removed from the hypserspace lanes to be worth anything to anyone. For now, Kurtis just had to wait, the Dreadnought fully operational and going through another series of tests. He had invited Master Xaxis'Kahal to attend the test with him, if he so wanted.
The cameras and sensors made the bridge seem like it was suspended in space, giving a 360 degree view of the area around the ship like they were suspended in the void itself. While the bridge crew sat in their pits with their monitors for their specific stations, the captain could use a custom commlink to pull up information as a hologram for whatever he wished, information fed from the tactical computers of the crew. At the moment it seemed like Kurtis was standing alone in space, looking over the shipyard and world it orbited as he waited for his prey. If needed his entire fleet was waiting behind the moon of the planet, just a signal away from assistance but hidden so as to not spook their incoming guest. If Master Xaxis were with him, he would be standing in the void as well. It could be disconcerting to some, but the tactical value it could give was tremendous.
