He rolled his eyes slightly, pulling the blaster from his holster. Of course, she wasn't going to come peacefully; they rarely ever did.

He gave her a nod at her plan. Was it a good one? It was probably the best one they had. Nick would have felt better with 10 more units for backup, but this Jedi had proven quite adept at handling things.

In true Jedi fashion, the woman casually strode into the room and addressed the witch directly. Nick, not quite as confident as the Jedi, took the opportunity to slip into the room, keeping hidden behind a pillar.

The exchange went pretty much how he expected it would have. As the witch cackled, Nick opened fire on the witch before she got a chance to wield her foul magic or whatever these witches did.

The blaster shots struck her, though Nick didn't stay trained on her long enough to see the likely fatal results of the shots. He spun, turning to face the two nearest zombies rushing the Jedi. He brought them down with two shots and bought the Jedi some space to work with.

Well, the Nightsister certainly wasn't expecting a blaster bolt to the chest, was she? She had been so focused on the Jedi, she hadn't even registered the secondary threat. Nick Shaw. Looking over her shoulder, Sybella gave a nod of the head; truth be told, she was rather impressed. The shot was clean and precise.

If only that were the end of it. Crumbling to the ground, the Nightsister gasped, clutching her chest. An expected reaction yes, but the accelerated decay which ate through her body was certainly not normal. It was as if she were rotting away; the flesh unravelled until only a pile of sinew and bones remained. Sybella had hoped that with her death, the reanimated corpses about them would go dormant once more.

No such luck.

A green, smokey vapour rose from the witch's remains. Like mist, it spread out, covering piles of bones and bodies until even more joined the already existing ranks. A scream came from one of the zombie's maws, apparently signalling the start of a coordinated attack. With two lightsabers firmly gripped in each hand, Sybella prepared for the impending clash against an unrelenting horde. When the first of them lunged forward, the Jedi sprung into action, cutting at the wave with precise and fluid strikes; with each swing and parry, the Jedi's blades swiftly carved through the multiple bodies of decaying flesh.

Despite her best efforts, however, Sybella soon found herself crowded into a corner. There were simply too many of them. Using the Force, she repelled many of the zombies back with bursts of raw energy. The stench of decomposure was becoming overwhelming. Just breathing was fast becoming a neasating task, yet the Jedi persisted. Utilizing her dual-wielding style once more, she moved once more; swinging with unparalleled precision, her two lightsabers a whirlwind of lethal strikes. As the slaughter intensified, the Jedi's connection to the Force became increasingly evident, even to someone like Nick with no apparent connection. She allowed the Force to guide her movements, anticipating the zombies' attacks before they even occurred.

Slowly, but surely, Sybella prevails. The once-thriving horde of undead zombies started to crumble into fewer and fewer bodies. With the last of them cut down, the cave fell into silence, save for the fading hum of the extinguished lightsabers. Panting, the lady Jedi took a moment to recover from her exertions; Nick apparently had kept himself busy as well, shooting at any of the undead who strayed too close to the living.

Some of the swamp's locals had fled in fear. Others had remained, too terrified to move. Freed from the control of the Nightersister's mind, they were in utter shock, seeing some of their own amongst the ranks of zombies. If Sybella had to guess, she suspected the witch was trying to establish a cult. The villagers were her unwilling worshippers. Judging from the corpses that tried to reach the unconscious Ariadne, it seemed the magic-user was trying to acquire a young, new body.

"Lucky we here when we did..."

Unshackling her still unconscious companion, Sybella checked to make sure the Tiefling wasn't otherwise harmed. Aparet from a rather nasty knock to the head, she appeared no worse for wear.

Surveying the scene around them, the Jedi couldn't help but offer the ranger a cocky, side-ways glance "After all this, I bet you'll have to write one heck of a report. Best of luck..."

The creatures swarmed Sybella, apparently more interested in the Jedi than him. Only a handful of the undead beings approached him, quickly put down by his blaster.

The rest of his time was spent picking off the closest creatures that broke through the Jedi's defenses. Jedi were master warriors, but even they could fall in a fight, Nick had seen it. The fight a quick and chaotic, ending as quickly as it had begun

There was a moment of eerie stillness as the thrall of the witch came out of whatever hold she had on them. Many were the missing Nick had been tracking, and others still were likely also missing.

"I have seen some crazy stuff in my life, but this was close to the top..." he said to the Jedi. "You saved my skin back there, thanks. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate," he said, pulling a contact card out and handing it to her.

"You have no idea..." he said. "...But I am sure there will be some relieved family members though.." he said. That was the good part of job, sometimes there was at least somewhat of a happy ending. You learned to cling to those to get through the bad ones.
