Cade's fighter came out of hyperspace not too far from the planet. He started the thrusters and zoomed toward the giant city world of Coruscant. He brought the fighter into land at an independent bay, near to the cantina he was to investigate. Clambering out, he tossed the necessary credits to the owner of the hangers from his mission allowance and he proceeded out into the street.

He pulled his cloak tighter as the wind hit him and he followed the directions to the cantina. He had been tasked to root out the reason for disappearances of people in this area, so he decided, as he entered the cantina, to get a drink and see what information he could find.

He walked up to the bar in the dimly lit room and asked for a water, then he stayed at the bar, sipping it and observing for a lead.

He had been there for a while now, and was getting nowhere. He allowed himself to fall into the Force and reached out to the others in the bar. He listened to their intents and saw them in a new light. He picked through each person, listening to smugglers, thugs, bounty hunters, mercenaries and then he found something interesting. He heard one word over the hubbub word "kidnap". He reached out to the person and found them. In a small booth at the end of the cantina was a Trandoshan talking to a Twi'lek. He could not hear it all from here, so he slowly walked over and sat in the booth behind theirs. He listened to the conversation.

It seemed like the Twi'lek owned an "entertainment" company, hiring dancing girls, actors and musicians and renting them out to functions. The Trandoshan provided him with slaves, from Ryloth and more locally. He would follow the Trandoshan as he left, he decided, sipping more water.

The reptilian finally stood and walked to the exit. Cade stood and walked very slowly out. In the street he could see him walking along, walking across the parts of the street bathed in light from the street lamps. He stayed well back as he followed him toward his destination. He finally stopped outside an apartment building and he entered. Cade went in behind him. When he entered, the Trandoshan was nowhere to be seen, but he felt his imprint in the Force. He followed him to the basement level and as the lift doors opened he saw him at the end of the corridor. There were no apartments down here, just maintenance rooms. He wondered why the Trandoshan was down here. The reptile entered what looked to Cade like a utility room. He counted to ten and went in after him, hoping to interrogate him. The small room was empty, save for a few mops and cleaning utensils. He cursed under his breath.

The Trandoshan could not have just vanished. He fell into the Force and searched for something; anything that could lead him on. There it was, so small anyone would not notice, a door locking switch. He pushed the open button and to his surprise it opened. The smell that greeted him almost made him wretch. He held his breath and went inside. He was in the sewers of Coruscant.

He walked calmly along the sewers, following the squelching footsteps of the Trandoshan silently. At the end of the sewer he stopped and unlocked a door, Cade shrank into the shadows. The door slipped open and the trandoshan entered. Cade slipped inside, hiding behind a large metal pipe as one trandoshan spoke to another. They were speaking of mundane things and then he heard it, the trandoshan wanted to inspect the prisoners ready for sale. Cade steadied his breathing and waited. The door on the far wall opened and a wave of hubub greeted him. He could see people of all races stuffed into cages, apparently grouped by sex and race. He wanted to help them, but inside were many more trandoshans. He did not know what to do. He had discovered the source of the kidnappings, but he did not know if he could free them himself. He typed a message on his datapad to his master and sent it.

He read his master's message.

"Do what you think is best but remember violence is not always the best course"

Helpful... he thought. He knew that meant he was expoected to free the slaves without violence. He would, for now, wait until night, hoping some of the Trandoshans would go to sleep. He sat behind the pipe, waiting.

-----A few hours later-----

To his delight, most of the Trandoshans had left the quarters of the slaves. He presumed there would be a couple inside, and they left one guarding the exterior. He had a plan. He left his hiding place and walked up to the Trandoshan, who raised his rifle.

"Who are you?"

"I am Mr. Varr. I have been sent to inspect the slaves," he said, waving his hand before him and imprinting his owrds on the weak mind of the slaver. The Trandoshn repeated what he had said, opened the door and led him inside. Once inside he saw there were four more guards, who were playing sabaac and paying little attention to him. He turned back to the slaver, "You must leave now." He left without incident. Cade now walked up to the remaining four.

They stopped as he approached and looked up. They asked who he was. He tried confusing four of them again,

"I have bought all of these slaves. They are to come with me. You may leave."

The Trandoshans seemed to agree and got up and went to leave. As they got to the exit, Cade let his concentration slip and one turned around, blaster up,
"Wait, you're a Jedi," he fired. Cade drew his lightsaber and blocked it. He let the Force guide him. He raised his hand and sent the Trandoshan's flying out of the prison room. He closed the door and then stabbed the controls with his lightsaber. Now he just had to get the prisoners out. He called out to them, "I am Cade Varr, a Jedi. I am here to rescue you. Remain calm and listen to what I say."

They seemed to want to get out, so they listened. He thought. The only exit was the door he just locked. For starters he ran around cutting the cages open with his sword. There were about seventeen prisoners in all, who clambered out. He noticed a couple of dead bodies who had not survived. He thought of an exit plan as he heard banging on the door.

He looked at the metal wall, then at his lightsaber and had an idea. He plunged it into the wall and began to cut a hole in the wall. He finished and kicked it away to see a large, wet pipe. He had no idea where it went, but it was as though the Force was telling him to follow it. He motioned for the slaves to follow and jumped in. He slipped a little as he ran, making sure the slaves were keeping up, as he followed it's twists and turns. Sure enough, eventually they came to a ladder up to a manhole. He clambered up, helping the weak slaves as he could. Once he got to the top he used the Force to open the manhole cover. They were in a nice area of Coruscant. Near the Jedi Monastery and the CSF HQ. He took a small chip and scribbled a note on it. He called the CSF to come to the chip and left it for them to find, hopefully with the Trandoshans. Then he led the prisoners to the Monastery. When he got in he was tired, rushed from adrenaline, but very pleased. He reported in with the master and he told him that the lsaves would be taken care of. Refusing the offer of dinner, Cade decided to return to Ossus, and his awaiting master.

A figure stood amongst the empty tunnels of the sewer, still smoking in places from the blaster bolts. It nudged a smoking trandoshan with a well made boot.

The figure wrapped its dark cloak around it tighter, and stared at the walls. The peacekeepers had made quite a mess. Still... the repairs wouldn't begin for a few days still, enough time to erase all traces.

These interlopers would be dealt with...soon enough. The Zekga family would make sure of that.
