Despite the pain she was experiencing, Vahliri continued her sprint towards the hangar bay - easily passing by both Kaos and Tahiri along the way. Unsurprisingly, the half-Annfyn didn’t so much as glance back at the pair - and certainly made no attempts to help them. She was strictly concerned with self-preservation, and leaving them to distract the Kilik’s only increased her own chances of survival in the end. There was only a single person in the Mines that warranted her concern - and he was keeping pace right alongside her.

She could feel the blood that gushed from the laceration on her back, soaking into the fabric of her robes and dripping onto the floor. Pangs of exhaustion and dizziness began to gnaw at her from the bloodloss, but she pressed on regardless.

Upon reaching the doors, Vahliri did her best to suppress a smirk. It was clear that her troopers had followed orders without hesitation - evident from the injuries of the Jedi Master. Of course, the half-Annfyn’s gaze promptly flicked down to Charlotte as well - who apparently had found herself in the middle of it. With the faintest knitting of her brows, the half-Annfyn glanced towards her troopers. “Secure the Champion onto the shuttle.” Vahliri wasn’t going to apologize for Charlotte being caught in the literal crossfire, but neither was the half-Annfyn going to abandon one of her own to the Kilik’s.

Regardless of the condition the woman was in, Vahliri’s orders would undoubtedly be followed to the letter. If Charlotte was unconscious, dead or started to lag behind, Imperial men at arms would bodily lift her and begin making for the shuttle up ahead. Vahliri took a few steps past the door - amber eyes fixed onto her military transport.

Just as she stepped behind Indy and while Kaos was attempting to thank her, however, the half-Annfyn abruptly halted in her tracks - spinning around to face the Jedi Master’s back. Without a single word, Vahliri carved her unignited saberhilt in a downward, diagonal arch - attempting to slice through the Pantoran’s neck and down her left shoulder. The crimson blade sprang to life at the very last moment before impact - giving the Jedi Master no advanced warning - especially with her attention strictly fixed onto ‘holding the line’. Kaos, meanwhile, would have a front-row seat to the gruesome maneuver.

No amount of righteous indignation or protest from Kaos would bother Vahliri. The Jedi Master was her enemy - and any functional truce was broken the moment that Indy abandoned her and Varyn deeper in the mines. Her previous orders had all but ensured the Pantoran’s demise, and the stroke of her saber would ensure Indy didn’t get her noble sacrifice in the end.

Assuming the Jedi Master put up no last-minute defense, Vahliri would continue right along to her shuttle - not even missing a beat.

John was naturally suspicious of these men ordering him around. How had they gained access to the hangar? Had they managed to open that door? John eyed the men, trying to check if they were truly Imperials. It could be a trap, a gimmick to disarm him. He considered decapitating the Imperials with his lightsaber. Cutting through rocks in the mines was far tougher than slicing through flesh. After a few inches of bone and cartilage the heads would roll. He bit his lip. Could he take them all down? A few, but not all. He probably needed some real training first. John wasn’t afraid, but if he died here his revenge on Lord Draugr would die with him.

John took out his lightsaber and held it out for the Imperials to take. “Whose command are you following? And where are the others I came with? I need to tell them something.”

You may now make your final posts with an "/Exit Thread" attempt. I reserve the right to deny elements of them if they're truly outlandish but I will allow most things. Congratulations and thank you for your participation in this event!

Inside The Hanger Bay
@Edin Frost @Vahliri Kahtal @Varyn Atrix
@Charlotte Le'Anna @Indy Sati @Kaos Tyr @Tahiri @John Q

@John Q would find that the Imperials ordering him to submit to the new standard checks for Killiks and Joined personnel were very much authentic - after all, he had landed back in the exact same hanger he had left from originally so he would be able to see behind the two Imperial troopers, the doors opening and what remained of the group. All of this was right in front of him and his lack of adherence to the protocol was enough for the troopers, already jumpy, to get a little snippy. Still, one of them grabbed the Sith's lightsaber while the other covered him.

"Sir - it's time for us to leave." one of the troopers observed, "Champion @Vahliri Kahtal is in command. Please board the ship that the Champion came in, alongside the squad."

Deeper within the mines, @Tahiri threw her last bit of strength into continuing to make the way harder for the Killiks behind her - the one on her back screeched in indignation as she helped pile rocks down from the ceiling as Chirzo was doing the same. The way was shutting and even if the Killiks would eventually break through, they would be delayed. But she did not struggle against her end as it came and the jaws of the warrior Killik would snap shut, cleaving through flesh, bone and grey matter to do so in a gory spray of viscera.

@Varyn Atrix & @Kaos Tyr would find that nothing barred their entry into the main hanger bay as the blaster fire was abruptly cut off as the troopers took stock of who they had actually hit and offered no resistance to either men. Abiding by the new orders of @Vahliri Kahtal, they would hold fire and instead move closer to the doorway to the scene of their attack.

@Indy Sati had taken a blaster bolt to the chest - followed by another couple of them that had burned their way through the armour there to find purchase within her chest. Already she would be finding it all-but impossible to breathe as one of her lungs strained against the burns and the newly seared hole through to it. But at the commands of both @Charlotte Le'Anna & @Vahliri Kahtal , the troopers would leave her to focus instead on Charlotte, who had also been hit.

Catching fire as she had turned to jump away, Charlotte was less injured than Indy but she was still not in a good state - @Charlotte Le'Anna had taken two blaster bolts to her side, which was only lightly armoured. Due to her defence, with the Force the wounds were shallower than they should have been but they were still enough to cause her blinding pain across her side every time she tried to move. She would find herself requiring the aid of the two troopers who rushed up to her and quickly grabbed her under a shoulder each before dragging her away, up the ramp onto the Sith vessel they had arrived in.

@Edin Frost was able to avoid any complications with the hoversled's controls by simply bailing on the thing when he felt it buck underneath him - and his ship was the one that Chirzo would rush past @Indy Sati & @Vahliri Kahtal to reach. Watching as the Sith struck at the back of the injured Jedi, the former wannabe-acolyte decided that it was probably best not to spend time with the Sith, alone in space, after her call had been the reason they arrived in the first place. No, she would much rather spend time with the Mercenary who would likely keep her alive long enough to get paid.

Within the mines, the rocks had covered the main tunnel and the Killiks raged against the obstacle with brute force and numbers. Every second the team spent doing anything other than retreating, they would be able to see rocks being bashed and shattered as the Killiks once again began to break through to their side.

The tidal wave of Killiks would advance - but it would rage against this final barrier first.

John would listen to the Imperials, as he had no appetite for wandering about on his own. He would try to find and board the ship that the Champion had come in. He wondered if he would get to tell anyone about his discovery when flying around the asteroid. Why had someone built a machine like that on the outside of this rock? Why had those starfighters sacrificed themselves to protect it? It didn’t make much sense to him, but he was in no position to investigate. He thought of the others in regret; if only he had been a little faster through the door. He thought of his ship. He may survive this escapade, but he’d have to take transporters from now on if he wanted to get anywhere. Hopefully he’d at least get his lightsaber back once he boarded the Champion’s ship and this was all done with. What had he contributed to this mission? Well, there was the bloody thumbprint he had made in the ground. At least part of John Q would always remain here.

Still alive. Charlotte drew ragged breaths. Her side a blaze of pain. Two Imperial troopers helped her to her feet, practically dragging her to the shuttle. She could barely think through the pain. Fucking idiots. Her eyes snagged on the Jedi for a moment. Smote with blaster fire and then cut down by another Sith. The woman was willing to sacrifice herself for Imperials who wanted her dead. Who had killed her. Both Jedi throwing away their lives for people they did not know. Charlotte simply shook her head. Fools. Her mental walls tightly closed. They were her enemy. They were barriers on her path to power.

Yet, she could not help but wonder what it said of them that no Sith would do the same. Charlotte hated herself for that thought. Weakness. Grimacing, she truly had been away too long. She was forgetting who she was and what she wanted. No more. Taking a deep painful breath, Charlotte resolved to refocus her efforts. The Darkness was her master. She would obey. The Queen Mother closed her eyes as the shuttle would whisk them away.

Kaos would simply let out a sigh as the jedi was cut down in front of him...At least he now understood who ordered the troopers to shoot and could take a guess as to why Indy had been killed like that, it was still vindictive and senseless but at least it didn't come out of nowhere.

With nothing else to be said or done, Kaos would get to his shuttle, making sure to stay alert out of increased distrust of the sith...or literally everyone else left alive in the group, really. He had to admit, it was obvious that, even though they were all unpleasant to be around, it was probably part of what allowed them to survive this job, had the jedi cared not about the sith at all maybe they would've made it instead.

Regardless, Kaos left the mission with no more purpose that he started with, nothing of value gained in his nonexistent eyes as he made his way out, just a bitter taste in his mouth, an even bigger distaste for the sith than he already had and a horrible pain in one of his arms that would take a good while to heal. Not even his simpler purpose was achieved, he had come here to take care of strange force entities and instead he had discovered some repulsive bugs he couldn't even take on.

He would need to look elsewhere for motivations to keep going.

With no one impeding his exit, Varyn wasn't excited about lingering. He barked an order into his comlink to O2 and the ramp to his ship slid open as the ship began to hover off the ground. The Champion leap onto the ramp, glancing back to make sure Vahl was getting clear as well...

Of course she was... doing Vahl things. Vahl, let's go! he shouted back (@Altaris). The chaos, destruction, and death they had left in their wake would have to wait. For now, all that mattered was getting clear of this ship before anything else came to eat or Join them.

Assuming that Vahliri and her troops would clear out, Varyn would disappear inside his own ship and it would dart out into space, clearing and hopefully leaving behind the horrors of this "asteroid."

She knew it was a fools hope that they would actually make a break for it, but truthfully, she fully expected the Sith to make a shot at it. They were good at backstabbing, after all.

She didn't feel pain.

However, the hiss of the blade did indeed trigger something. The power she had been building, the strength of the Light side, was suddenly, very aggressively released. A concussive force released from her as the blade sank through her neck, meant to crumble the last of the tunnel and the doorway she knelt in.

She only felt pain for a moment.

Abruptly, she faded out. Her body folded forward, to be buried in the rubble.

The distant sound of ocean waves greeted her ears, as the galaxy faded to black. Warm sand beneath her feet, the smell of smoke and... something else. Someone.

A familiar face swam into focus, and she ran, leaping into his arms. Final wishful thinking, or the dreams of the dead, it didn't matter.

Indyana Sati finally reached the end she had longed for since losing those she loved. She was gone.

Vahliri didn’t feel even a hint of remorse. With deadpan expression, she watched as the Jedi Master slumped forward - expelling the last of her gathered strength to collapse the tunnel behind them. While it was a noble last act.. It changed little in the half-Annfyn’s eyes. Perhaps there was a time when the last minute betrayal would’ve riddled her with shame and guilt, but Vahliri was an entirely different person from her days as an Acolyte. In the end, they were at war, and the Jedi was her enemy. Her actions had ensured that there would be one less Jedi Master to stand against the Empire in the future.

As far as Vahliri was concerned, removing Indy’s head from her shoulders was a greater mercy than allowing her to be Joined.

Just before reaching her shuttle, Vahliri reached back towards Indy’s body - coiling the Force around the Pantoran’s saberhilt and summoning it into her hands. She inspected the green-bladed saber - feeling the Light that thrummed within it - before clipping it to her belt.

With that, the half-Annfyn strode into the Imperial shuttle, past Varyn and towards the medbay aboard. The remaining Imperial Troopers would follow shortly thereafter, abandoning the hangar bay now that all Imperial personnel were secure. Whatever happened to the rest of the group wasn’t their problem.

Edin’s ship was already in the process of taking off when Chorizo bolted in. He grasped the woman by the arm and yanked her in as they took off. He wasn’t an idiot - he would still be wary of her and keep his blaster handy in case she did anything sketch. The Firrerreo plopped down in a seat, covered in sweat, grime and looking far worse for wear. As his ship began to take off, he popped open his comlink and saw a text from Amira (@llamallove ). His expression changed instantly, a fondness suddenly present in his otherwise icy demeanor.

Edin looked up to spot Chorizo gawking at him in surprise. He adjusted how he was sitting so his blaster just happened to point at her. He stared at her coldly until she looked away first.

Unless obstructed, his ship would zoom out and jump into hyperspace.
