Appearance: If someone were to ask you to describe what Mikey looked like, their first response would be "Who the hell is that?" Eventually, after they struggled to remember who they were supposed to describe, they would detail the appearance of someone who is undoubtedly the most average and non-descript individual one could possibly see. Mikey has blonde hair which sits un-styled upon his head, flopping down to the top of his ears and just above his eyebrows. To anyone with eyes, it is obvious that he would look good if he used any form of product in his hair but evidently, Mikey does not consider his hair important enough to style (that or he doesn't know that it should be styled). His brown eyebrows, which are often raised in some expression of surprise or confusion, sit just above his annoyingly plain brown eyes. He has a slender nose and equally slender lips. Mikey's angular face and firm jawline form the only two noteworthy aspects of his appearance, but the rest of his visage is so uninspired that people tend to not notice it at all. He has a clear complexion, likely indicative of a life spent avoiding danger or dirt. With no scars or blemishes to speak of, Mikey has a face so difficult to spot in a crowd that a bounty hunter might cry if they were tasked with finding him. With an average build, it is clear that Mikey does not indulge in treats too much, nor does he exercise regularly. To top it off, Mikey frequently wears plain clothing, often coloured soft blue, brown, or grey. Why the galaxy has seen fit to make Mikey so hidden from people's interest or gaze is a complete mystery. Why he decides to play along by not dressing to stand out is an even bigger mystery. If you can, keep an eye out for him, but good luck spotting him.
Background: Mikey was born to affluent human parents on the upper levels of Coruscant who made sure that Mikey never wanted for anything. In ensuring that he never needed to stress about anything, Mikey became used to comfort and quickly became lazy. His father, a local politician named Gerard, whilst displeased with this development, could not bring himself to discipline his son the way he had been disciplined. Consequently, Mikey remained a well-meaning but ultimately ordinary child. Mikey did quite well in school but this was due more to the resources that he had available to him rather than any personal motivation or strength of character. His performance at school was good enough for him to be offered various positions of relative importance in multiple areas such as government, banking, and several software and hardware companies. However, Mikey chose to dismiss these opportunities and instead chose to coast along after school, living from his parent's wealth alone. He spent most of his time partying or enjoying virtual media (sometimes both at the same time). The protests of his father did little to instil responsibility in Mikey and he preferred to stay unemployed and enjoy the hedonistic life he had chosen for himself. Unfortunately for Mikey, the wealth he was so used to wasting would soon be unavailable to him when it was revealed that said wealth came from connections his father had with local crime families on the lower levels of Coruscant. The authorities of Coruscant seized Gerard, his wife Laura, and all of their assets. Mikey, who was on a bender at the time, remained blissfully unaware of what occurred until he got home days later. Mikey spent many days locating his parents and eventually found that they were not being kept under the watch of the proper authorities, as they should be but was instead being kept by one of Gerard's political rivals, a Twi'Lek man named Dinek Blen, who many suspected also had connections to criminal elements. Although Mikey suspected that Dinek had something to do with his parent's arrest, he was in no position to demand their freedom, and since Mikey had refused to get a job or seek financial independence in any capacity, he was left with nothing. Dinek convinced Mikey that after a period of indentured servitude, Mikey might be able to gain enough favour with him to earn his family's freedom and life back. With the only other option being homelessness Mikey had no choice but to accept. Dinek has since decided to send Mikey into Coruscant's underworld (and the underworld of various other planets) to do his bidding. Unfortunately for Mikey, he makes a rather poor criminal. Equipped with only his academic and technical knowledge (and the very simple equipment Dinek dug out for him), Mikey now needs to learn how to survive in the underworld if he wants to go back to his old life.
Personality: Mikey is, more than anything, naive at heart. He is not so naive that he is blindly mistrustful, but a life of privilege does little to prepare one for hardship or mistrust. On top of this, Mikey is unmotivated, even with clear goals he approaches said goals lazily and with much reluctance and complaining. He expects more of life than perhaps he should, likely to the displeasure of many people - especially those who had hard upbringings. In addition, Mikey does not think things through properly. Having lived a life where he simply went through the motions meant that he never truly had to make hard decisions, and simply went with his gut. However, not everything about Mikey's personality is grating. Whilst he is naive and lazy he is also friendly and charming. His time spent partying has given him an appreciation of people and he enjoys socialising. In addition, he is passionate about technology and is more than happy to help someone when it comes to the topic. Although his love for technology originated from wasting too much time on it through games and movies, he has developed a genuine interest in the subject. Despite being an only child, many would say that Mikey has "the energy and demeanour of a younger sibling".
Attributes:
- Strength 3/10: Mikey is not a particularly strong individual, a life of luxury has not acquainted him with the harsh realities of physical labour or exercise.
- Dexterity 5/10: During many of his parties Mikey has (under the influence obviously) made dumb decisions and crawled or balanced on top of spots that he probably shouldn't, displaying a slightly above average sense of dexterity.
- Constitution 6/10: Drinking too much has given Mikey an iron stomach, and the scraps he unintentionally found himself in whilst partying mean that Mikey can stay up when others may not. However, he is still no tank by any means.
- Intelligence 8/10: Mikey's excellent grades in school, coupled with his fascination and proficiency with technology, mean that no one can say that he is stupid. However his smarts are predominantly academic, and his street smarts are all but non-existent. Luckily, he has such an unnoticeable build and face that many people don't notice him or think he's worth the trouble.
Wisdom 3/10: Mikey does not make smart decisions. He might be intelligent, but he does not use said intelligence very well. Turning down multiple job offers simply to enjoy the life of a party animal and then not properly considering the life of an indentured servant is evidence enough to show that Mikey does not exude wisdom.
Charisma 7/10: Mikey can be pretty interesting if he wants, and the charisma that comes hand in hand with having lots of money has now been ingrained into his personality. Mikey would no doubt be even far more charismatic if he didn't have an astoundingly plain face. Alas, he can only work with what he has got.
Skills:
- Technological proficiency: Academic knowledge coupled with a passion for tech means that Mikey is pretty good with all but the most esoteric of devices. If it needs to be fixed, pulled apart, or hacked, Mikey can probably do it. Probably.
- Party animal's charm and abilities: Mikey can keep his liquor down and impress everyone whilst doing it. His days' of partying have meant that he's learned how to socialise rather effectively and can get people on his side using his charm (this skill is usually reserved for getting people to join his team when playing party games, but it might also be useful when attempting to persuade people for other, more serious, matters).
- Great at video games. Not particularly useful given his line of work now, but he is still proud of it.
- Average marksmanship. Very, very, very, average. Luckily for Mikey however, most people only need to be shot once to be down for good.
