Savareen, Rebel Base

Joran waited for his new team by the entrance of the Rebel base. He was on his datapad, analysing the personalities and people that he would have to work with over the war to come. He noted that everyone of them had some kind of obvious strength. One's a pilot, one's a scout etc. Through this they could work quite effectively he thought. If they survived that is. But if he wanted to survive he would've stayed on as a clerk. There was something about being on the edge of death. Something very... Alluring. He would take aa big gulp of a coffee, as he continued to wait.

Wincor was in the depression. Even a successful mission with his friend Hugo hasn't changed his mood. It actually changed a bit, but he still thinks about himself as a loser. Even though facts were saying that was not his fault, he kept admitting that he just sucks as a squad leader. And now his Star Fox team is probably dead. Poor creatures didn't deserve a death, all they wanted is to live in a world free from racism and slavery because his entire team was consists of them. Instead, they have died tried to make it real. At least Nixdorf has thought as a such, although there was no any evidence that they have really died. One day he will meet them again.

"Ahoy Matey! I'm Wincor, we have chatted slightly before. So... what's the plan?" Asked the Amaran approaching Jaron. He was trying to look cheerful, but the memory of that mission was still in his mind, despite the fact it was a year ago. Shogan has advised to Nixdorf ask Jaron to enlist into his squad. It going to show whatever Wincor worth something or not. It also might help with a constant Fox's depression. And so, right after a little conversation through the HoloNet, the vulpine rebel was here. The building itself wasn't credible, but the Fox doesn't care. He hasn't used to live in luxury, hence he was completely fine with what he was seeing.

Joran looked up at Wincor as he approached. With the orange fur, he was certainly a quite curious looking fellow. But then again this Alliance would have to draw upon every type of species in the galaxy. The best and worst of society drawn together under one banner for one cause. Whether he hoped for different species and different people or just one species is to be questioned. It would make it far easier for him to lead his forces as they only spoke the same language, and wouldn't have to focus on catering for all the different types.

As he approached, the new member was greeting him with what could be said as informal. This made him raise his eyebrows in disapproval. Just because they were Rebels did not mean that discipline wasn't a thing. There had to be discipline, so that they wouldn't go charging round like no tomorrow on a rampage. When he had a chat with the furry thing over holocommunicator, he wasn't necessarily impressed with the recruit's respect for the chain of command and authority. Maybe he thought that just because it wasn't an official military does not mean there are no rules. So the response he was getting would not be of a friendly tone, but a cold and disapproving one

"You will not address me soldier as 'Matey' but as sir. This is not some tavern for you to run around in like a spoilt child but a squad in a military at war. If that is too hard of a concept for you to understand you can leave this instant." He said coldly.
He put his datapad down and continued
"You are going to war. There is a high chance you will be killed on field of battle. There is an even higher one that you get executed for treason. Listen to me and you may survive. Disobey and the only thing you'll be calling 'Matey' is the dirt on the ground. Understood?"

Syrax stepped out of the many base tunnels that seemed to be designed with keeping any potential invading enemy baffled, with a lit cigarra in his mouth. The yellow eyes of the wolf took in the scene before him, amazed by how many of the galaxy's citizens had rallied to this one cause. He believed in causes, mostly his own and mostly on his own terms. He was an isolationist not just per species but by his own life choices. However, when the threat to the galaxy had been to great, even he couldn't turn a blind eye; thus here he was, a part of something he hoped would stem the tide of oppression that was blanketing the galaxy.

Pulling the rolled-up relaxation from his mouth, he tapped it with a single nail-claw from his paw, watching the ash fall to the ground. He smiled, partially, making a comparison to that fallen ash to what he could only imagine would befall the Sith Order and all that blindly followed their misguided causes. Dropping the stub to the ground, he crushed it underfoot; extinguishing the flame. Now, he thought, was time to report to the Captain of his newly appointed squad. Working with others, he amused internally, was going to be something of an endeavor.

Strolling up casually to the Captain, he rifled off a crisp salute whilst saying, "Sir! Syrax….sniper...scout....demo tech...and snowball champion reporting for duty! Sir!"

Tycho strolled through the maze like network of corridors and hallways. Well not exactly strolled as though he was walking through a park, but at a fast pace. The shuttle dropped him off at the opposite end of the base. What sort of luck is that? The wanted fugitive had escaped Kessel not that long ago, so for the rebels it is a huge risk to recruit him. Now this Captain Miran us raising that risk by placing him in his squad. Not that Tycho will complain as he is itching to have a go at the Empire. Until he was caught and sent to Kessel, Tycho was stealing Imperial supplies and selling them to the Black Market. Now the man wants to do some real damage through militaey action. That is if the Alliance and Captain Miran will allow him to leave the base. The last thing he wants is to be stuck behind some desk.

The man reached the hanger in time to see the fox looking creature be harshly told off for a reason the criminal did not know. Followed by another saluting the Captain. Tycho patiently waited for his turn to report his presence to the Captain. His turn coming when Syrax finished. Clearing his throat quietly, the fugitive strolled over, "Captain. Tycho Draykon reporting for duty. Sir!" He gave the officer a salute, "Sniper, smuggler and a pilot. But if you need me to do anything to damage the Empire consider it done." He told the officer.

2 people came up to Miran at the same time. Once again, he had known both of them from various reports. They are both most certainly useful in his team, and he needed them both. He would have to arrange them accordingly, but there was certainly a good mix. From what little command experience he had leading a squad, he knew the best ones had the most diverse. They complemented each other, and this is what breeds success. Theoretically.

He greeted Syrax first. He also had fur. Great! So it and Wincor were going to get on just fine. He returned his salute, and almost laughed at his joke of being snowball champion. Almost.
“Well if you can shoot as good as you can throw a snowball, you’ll be just fine won’t you.” He said without a trace of emotion nor amusement. Jokes were all fun and well, but war was going to be a stark change from what these fellows thought it was going to be. Probably.

Next, he turned to Draykon. Finally. A human. He also returned his salute. He noted that both of them had told him their specialities. Good. That would help him work out who was to act what role.
His final sentence particularly struck him as strange. Surely that was what they were all here to do?
“Well if you think you’re ever going to go back on your final sentence, I’ll arrange your immediate departure.” He said, showing no favouritism to the human. There was one left. Where was this person he had handpicked, to join the Brigands...

Jaron's words had a bit shamed the furry rebel, but this was Wincor's fault. After the two years which he spent with his team, he has forgotten how to speak with people who were higher in rank. In the vulpine opinion, formalities on the war is an unnecessary complexity and following them during a fight was a real challenge. The only man whom Wincor was giving salute upon every meeting was Pepa, although Star Fox has rarely seen him personally, they usually were talking using comlinks and the HoloNet. Perhaps, Nixdorf should change himself if he wanted to be on the ride again.

"Yes, sir! My piloting and spying skills at your services!", reported the Amaran and also give the salute. But then his scent pick a smell of a canine. Basically, Amarans and Shistavanens have almost the same origins, they were both canines. Once he spotted Syrax, Wincor had slowly reached to his blaster with his hand, but when the Shistavanen approached closer, Star Fox had sighed in relief. That wolf wasn't Ufuru, his old enemy. Otherwise, there would be a skirmish initiated by Wincor. Syrax was the only person here who made the Star Fox a bit nervous (due to his past), in case of Tycho Wincor was absolutely calm. The fox was working with humans in the past, so he was having no problems with them.

If there was a worse time to be late, Alika certainly hadn't heard of it.

She opened up on the throttle and the motor growled into the base, gently turning and cutting back on the throttle as she pulled up her visor and braked to a halt in front of the group that she assumed was her new assignment. Kaz looked around before powering down the loud engine and jumped off the swoop, her hand reaching for the strap on her helmet while the other gave a two-fingered salute. It certainly looked like they were acting rather formal for a band of rebels. Oh, great, a tightass captain with a ragtag bunch to bear. Alika decided to keep her helmet on, only her eyes revealed as she spoke, eyes flicking to the bunch.

"Mornin', captain. Kaz...reporting in to my new assignment. Sorry for being late."

Alika glanced back to her bike and paced back to retrieve the key, letting it lower itself to the ground. She turned back and nodded to the bunch of people who were here. An interesting group of individuals to be sure--and only one other human so far. Surprisingly, she felt comfortable around this bunch. Except for the cap, who for some reason was so very eager to meet her. Like she'd done anything spectacular in the past. At least she didn't recite her full last name, they'd all be going dizzy

Joran accepted the rather furry fellow’s apology with a salute back and a nod. He would let it past. He would learn. Quickly.

Finally. She’s arrived. The loud throttle of her motor made Joran put his hands over his ears to cover the sound. Her salute was rather of poor quality. It seems she, and everyone else here probably, were expecting a far less formal team. Unfortunately, with Joran’s Imperial background, what someone in the Alliance viewed as ‘less formal’ and what he viewed as ‘less formal’ were 2 different things entirely.

“Noted.” He said briskly after returning the salute with only 2 fingers as well. What you give is what you get. Or something like that.

Finally they had all gathered, and he can get onto his little impromptu introductory speech. Well, kinda impromptu.

“Gentlemen and lady” and then glanced at the 2 alien species
“Or at least I think you’re both male” in an inquisitive tone, but reverted back to his cold form of speech
“You do not need one large briefing on what we are trying to accomplish. Your chances of survival are slim. Prey that your chances of capture are less so. Why? Because if you are captured, you’ll be begging for death very quickly indeed.” He took in a small breath before speaking again. He held a slight Imperial tone throughout all his conversations. Maybe they had noticed. But he continued regardless.

“Our job, is to make it as painful and difficult as possible for the Imps to find us. Also, we must make sure that they think the real enemy are the other Imps across the galaxy. We will most likely be entering the deepest and darkest regions of the galaxy. We will try and not face half the Imperial Army at once. I presume you all can keep some form of secrecy with your actions. That will have to be amplified to such an extent that the Imps won’t know we were there. Death is going to be a little problem to overcome. But if rebellions were scared of death they wouldn’t be formed at all. We rise above it, whilst we compound these fears into our enemies and that is how we win.” He let them take in his words for a few moments

“I think we can get started now. Our first missions begin soon. So get prepped and get settled. Thank you gentlemen” before looking at Alika
“And lady.” Before saluting stiffly and walking away
“Oh I can’t be arsed anymore to keep on saying lady everytime I have to refer to her” he thought.
