Jedi Youngling to Padawan
In the heart of the galaxy, on the verdant world of Alpheridies, the tale of Mayne Arixus began. Born to the humble origins of the streets, Mayne entered the world as a blind Miraluka orphan, his eyes veiled from the visual realm yet... Somewhat attuned to the Force. His parents lost to unknown circumstances, simply vanishing one day, Mayne carried on their business of selling "runner" services to the wealthy - criminals and commoners alike.
Discovered by a passing Jedi emissary, young Mayne's potential did not go unnoticed. Sensing the strength of the Force within him, the Jedi Council extended their hand to him, offering sanctuary within the hallowed halls of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. While at an older age than most initiates, Mayne was taken in as a youngling, his journey into the ways of the Force set to unfold.
Within the austere confines of the Jedi Temple, Mayne found solace amidst the bustling activity and the whispers of ancient knowledge that permeated its walls. Despite his lack of sight, his connection to the Force blossomed under the tutelage of his mentors, his other senses sharpening to compensate for his blindness. His unyielding determination and resilience became his guiding lights, propelling him forward on his path to becoming a Jedi.
Mayne Arixus possesses a quiet strength paired with an erratic emotionality that belies his outwardly serene demeanor. "Keep it within, reveal nothing" was the mantra of his parents before they vanished, leaving Mayne believing they too shared his... Instability. Nonetheless, to attract the attention of potential clients while on the streets, and the tutelage of the Jedi Temple now, Mayne keeps it all in.
His thoughts, his fears, his anger, his ambition, his heartache. Nothing broke through his outward composure.
A chip on his shoulder, both from being forced into the capitalist hustle of the streets, and now as an older-than-most youngling, drove Mayne to study hard and explore every corner of Jedi wisdom that was available to him. Knowledge is power.
Though he may be physically blind, Mayne's connection to the Force grants him a profound insight into the world around him, allowing him to perceive truths that elude sighted individuals. He is humble, acutely aware of his weaknesses - yet paired with a selfishness, to always want to be better.
This determination is what drives him to find the ideal Master, one who can take him to the very peak of wisdom.
