DESCRIPTION​

A tool of a Jedi built by a Jedi who never wishes to use it to harm another living being - but who is practical enough to know that it is not a sentiment his enemies will share.

When his first split-saber was destroyed on Sullust, Max did not immediately replace it and instead went about his duties without a saber on his person for a long time. However, the Galaxy is not forgiving to those who are under-prepared so Max created this saber while he was spending time getting used to his limited prosthetic in his right hand. With a firm locking mechanism in the centre, the split-saber could be used as both a saberstaff and as two separate sabers when needed.

Balancing the saber took some time, taking into account that it would need to be used as both at a moment's notice. In the end, the saberstaff is of a standard weight but when broken into two sabers, they are individually a little bit lighter than dedicated single blade lightsabers. As a design feature it is something that Max has accounted for with his style.

The majority of the saber's hilt is made of leather wrapped around a durasteel core but for several pieces, Max was keen to experiment and found he enjoyed using bronzium for some of the detailing, leading to a slightly brighter saber than Max had been expecting. A surprise but a welcome one to be sure.

The blades themselves are slightly shorter than average but still glow with an ethereal blue.

INTENT​

To give Max a new split-saber to replace the one destroyed on Sullust, particularly one that suits his promotion to Council.
