By all official records, the Sphinx was a simple experimental variant of the standard Banehound design becoming common in the Imperium fleet. Featuring a light armarment, different hangar layout, and faster engines the Mark XI.x was to be faster cousin to the Mark XI.v to hunt down smugglers more efficiently. The project was eventually abandoned, as lighter vessels were chosen to fulfill this role instead, and the Sphinx herself eventually ended up in the hands of the Ubiqorate, who further modified the vessel.

Most notably is the Sphinx's difference in armament layout compared to a standard Banehound. The Super-Heavy tuborlasers are mounted in single ball shaped turrets, with two on the ventral, and dorsal side, and one on the port and starboard running centerline with the rest of the ship. The power settings of the Sphinx's guns are not as variable as those on a standard Banehound, and are instead locked in at the medium level, but make up for it with a capability of 12 shots per a minute, and a full rotation rate of only 17 seconds as opposed to the standard's 8 and 34 respectively. One of the Heavy Dual Turbolasers the ship carries is mounted in the prow, but the remaining guns are mounted across the ventral, and dorsal sides of the ship. The Sphinx has a even distribution of guns, and the spread in effect makes the Sphinx an anti-T crosser. The Star Destroyer can bring all its guns to bear down on a forward target, making the standard t-cross tactic as close to suicide as you can get. The dual light laser cannons are intended for anti-starfighter duties, and are a cut above similar designs in terms of accuracy, and rate of fire, but are somewhat less optimized in terms of how hard they hit, and range.

The variable ordinance launchers have a somewhat odd placement. Two are built into the forward prow centerline with the ship, and facing forward. The other two face rear, with one on the dorsal, and one on the ventral side of the hull that sticks out beyond the central engine unit. The launchers have shutters that close over them, to prevent starfighters from attempting to Death Star the Sphinx.

The hangars are the other significant departure from the standard Banehound, which uses the same basic design as on the first Imperial-classes, with the addition of starfighter launch tubes along the vertical axis. The Sphinx has four hangars, two port and two starboard, which bear a stronger resemblance towards Mon Calamari, and old CIS designs with a large shielded open face, and armored shutters that can be closed. The hangars are not pressurized and have no atmosphere or gravity however, and are heavily armored with thick alusteel plating. Craft enter the ship proper through elevators on the floor or ceiling of the hangar, magnetizing themselves to the appropriate surface. The intent behind the design is to allow ship's that dock to be checked thoroughly for any tracking devices, or explosives, before exposing them to to parts of the ship where such things can do damage. Teams of personnel in spacesuits will comb over the hull of every ship that lands. Fighter launches are facilitated by a carousel design at the center, in between the hangars. The design allows a fighter to be loaded on top, one on bottom, and then both will be launched, exiting via whichever hangar it's rotated into. Twelve of these carousel exist (six in the forward two hangars, six in the rear two) allowing for two squadrons to be launched at a time.

The escape pods of the Sphinx are a more standard design as opposed to the large Skiphawk lifeboats on the standard design, freeing up a lot of room for the additional electronics equipment carried by the Sphinx. In general the interior of the ship follows the same design pattern as the Banehound, with a buried bridge, jettisonable detention rigs, narrow corridors, and so on. The big exception to this is the reactor bulb area. Like the Banehound, the Sphinx uses a wheel shaped design that's buried further into the center. However where the Banehound uses the space freed up in the reactor bulb for additional recreational facilities, the Sphinx uses it to house all the equipment you'd find in a listening post. This allows the Sphinx to quietly monitor communications in the area of space where it is, and sift through the traffic to find coded messages from agents in the mess of everyday traffic.

The crew of the Sphinx is heavily vetted by the Ubiqorate, and the ship observes a strict policy on entrance. Outside technology is not allowed on the ship unless cleared by the Director or the Keeper directly, and accessing the ship is done only through pre-approved means of transport. Operative access codes are disabled when the operative is either on leave (vacation) or stationed at a mobile command center, and codes are scrambled every seven days. Every operative knows not to write their codes down under any circumstances. The ship flies in a random patrol throughout Imperial space, known only to a select group of pilots that rotate on a bi-monthly schedule. Furthermore it makes use of an ST Box that allows the Sphinx to present itself as the ISD Janus, a standard Banehound that actually does exist.

@Clayton, this is an official write-up for the Ubiqtorate's ISD. Since the Rebellion has it now, I figured it would be best to actually make a post that isn't stuck in a private forum. @Zapp Frankigan is a boss for doing like 95% of the work on this.

@The Kyzer, hey look a star destroyer.

As for "intent" - she stole it from the Ubiq obviously, but I was thinking we could turn it into a mobile outpost and a base of operations for the Imperial Knights.

That would be my suggestion as well.
