Promotions
If you're wondering what it takes to get your mando higher up the ranks of the Dominion, here we will summarize the guidelines that we typically assess when considering and giving promotions. Note that even if not of 'higher rank' you can still achieve much within the faction.

Combat: Seeing as we are in a war, and the Mandalorians are warrior people, combat is pivotal to our faction. It is possible to earn yourself a promotion while limiting the combat you're in, but it will be harder, and other candidates will look more appealing for the same position as combattants are an important part about a war. Characters who have proven their ability to hold their own, and furthermore lead others and succeed in combat situations are the prime candidates for Captain and Protector. PvP requirements are more lax when it comes to the Count and Duke spectrum of the Dominion however. Those ranks are still

Combat: This is the big one. PvP is the most effective way to be serve the faction and to become eligible for promotion. Characters who have proven their ability to not only hold themselves in combat threads and open RPs, but also to lead others while doing so, are more likely to be promoted. I encourage everyone to join open missions, sign up for battles, and try their hand at PvPing. It helps the story of the timeline move forward and keeps things exciting and engaging in the war.

Arauk'kesh: There may only be five Sith Lords at any given time, including the Dark Lord of the Sith, so in the event that there are no available slots, the only route to Lord is by issuing challenge. Any Sith may challenge a Sith Lord for his or her title; any Sith Lord may challenge the Dark Lord of the Sith or the Emperor's Wrath for their respective positions; and, subsequently, the Dark Lord and Emperor's Wrath alone can challenge the Emperor for his place as the ruler of the Empire.
Note: If you don't want to participate in battles or PvPs, that's an acceptable choice as well. No one is required to enter a combat thread if they do not want to do so. Your opportunities for advancement, however, will be inherently limited, as the higher ranks are all based on leading other players in combat situations. That's not to say it's impossible, but you will have to go above and beyond outside of PvP to show that you have earned a promotion. Not only does that include the usual quality of writing and character development criteria, but, most importantly, how your character has served the faction and assisted with leadership outside of combat to warrant a promotion to a combat-oriented role.
Note: If for any reason a player is unable or unwilling to accept the position of Darth should they be victorious, be this as a consequence of other site rules or the players choice, the request for a duel will be denied.

If you feel your character is ready for promotion, feel free to PM @Malon, @Vinny, or @Gian Greydragon with your application. Please include in the PM:

— Links to faction-related threads the character has participated in. Please include a short, 1-2 sentence summary of what the thread is about including whether it is a battle, mission, etc. as well as the outcome.
— Your IC contributions to the faction and why you believe you have earned the title.
— Your future plans for involvement and advancement of the Empire.

Good luck and happy writing!

Prisoners
In order to establish a comprehensible and effective standard in place for the handling of prisoners, the Faction Leadership has developed a set of rules for handling prisoners. These rules will apply to all prisoners that are taken by the Sith Faction equally.
    • Any member that has a captured character has one week in which to organize a rescue party and start the rescue thread.
    • It is the responsibility of the member with the captured character to organize the rescue and begin the thread.
    • Rescue threads are allowed to have heavy opposition, as would typically be the case in a real rescue attempt.
    • Rescue threads must be [Open] Threads.
    • If a rescue has not been started after one week of a character being imprisoned, Sith Leadership reserves the right to execute the character in question.
If extenuating circumstances will prevent a member from being able to post a rescue thread within one week, speak to Sith Leadership (@Malon, @Intratec @Vinny) and we will do our best to come to a solution. Note that this does not mean we will always make exceptions to the rule, only that if serious real life issues prevent a person from adhering to this rule we will do our best to figure out a solution. These situations will be decided on a case by case basis.

Missions
For all Imperial players, there is a limit on how many missions you can participate in. This is put in place in an attempt to keep your thread participants safe, in that if you die in one of the threads, you don't evaporate from the other thread and leave your partner high and dry. For [Ask] Missions, we're going to limit those to 3 per character. If you've got 2 characters in the Sith Empire, then you can participate in 6 [Ask] Missions at a time, and so on. We're going to be limiting [Open] Missions to 2 per character. This is an attempt to keep characters from being in too many, and ruining a ton of threads if they were to die.

This doesn't have an effect on other threads you choose to do with your characters, just official Sith Empire Missions, and running opposition for Mandalorian/Jedi missions. These rules are technically 'house rules' as they're just for Sith players and aren't hard-site rules; and if you run into an issue, or you are outside of the faction and think you've found a Sith player violating this rule, PM Sith Leadership (@Malon, @Intratec , or @Vinny) rather than filing a report or contacting an admin. We will work to find a resolution to any issues!

Additionally, we are instituting quality control standards for all Sith Missions, and for missions of opposing factions or individuals attempting to attack the Sith. These standards apply to all Sith Missions, Battles, Espionage threads, and all espionage, mission, or grid capture threads against the Sith. The requirements are as follows:

For 2+ Participant Threads

    • A minimum of 15 posts
    • More than 1 paragraph per post
    • Legible spelling and grammar (we must be able to read and understand what it is you're doing)
For solo (one person) threads
    • A minimum of 10 posts
    • 2+ Paragraphs
    • Legible spelling / grammar (we must be able to read and understand what it is you're doing)

Note: Solo threads are strongly discouraged and will be subject to higher scrutiny than other threads.
