Imperial Ruling Council

The Imperial Ruling Council is the direct successor to the Moff Council of the late Sith Brotherhood and early reign of the Empire. Following the bombing of the fifth meeting of the Moff Council, the Emperor reorganized the Council into a group of important Imperial officials with the sole job of advising the Emperor. The Council's members are handpicked by the Emperor himself from among thousands of planetary government officials, military specialists, and even Sith cultists.

There are twelve members total and each are frequently summoned by the Emperor to advise him on key issues facing the Empire as a whole. Unlike their predecessors on the Moff Council, the Ruling Council has no control over the Imperial Military or Navy, and any political power they have is limited to their true station. For instance, one Council member might be a planetary governor in addition to being a Council member, but being a Council member alone does not grant them political authority. Instead, to be on the Council is considered a sign of great prestige and Council members are generally respected within the Empire's borders.

Ranks of the Sith Empire

Welcome to the Sith Empire! Now that you've decided to join (or even if you're still thinking of joining), it's important to know what the organization and ranks are in the faction. The Sith Empire is organized into two sub-groups: the Imperial Legion, which you can read more about here; and the Sith Order, which you can read more about here. The Legion is the main army of the Empire, made up of the best trained warriors in the galaxy, many of whom were formerly part of the Sacred Band of Ziost. Highly skilled and professional, these Stormtroopers can stand up to their Sith counterparts, or crush the meek soldiers of the GAR. Meanwhile the Sith Order represents the re-organized Lords of the Sith.

At the head of the faction is the Emperor, who rules with the support of the Dark Lord of the Sith and the Warlord of the Imperial Legion. This thread details all of the ranks in the Sith Empire, organized by sub-faction. Training is not required in the Sith faction, so those who join the Sith Order are welcome to start with the "Sith" rank. If you want, you can start as an Acolyte. If you choose to do this and go through training, however, it will be your responsibility to find someone to train your character, as training is not an official process within the faction.

Emperor
(faction leader)

nZORrme.jpg

The Emperor is the sovereign leader of the Sith Empire, the twin worlds of Moraband and Korriban, and all of the territories that envelop it. They see the entire galaxy as rightfully being their dominion and intend to conquer all worlds, as the old Sith Empire once aimed to do. Originating from the former position of Supreme Leader, the Emperor rules the Sith Empire with an iron fist, and is known to be the strongest, most powerful being in all of the Empire.

As the Sith respect strength, the position of Emperor is open to those who are not Force-sensitive—though the first Emperor, Kyuss Thaun, former Warlord of the Sacred Band was Force-sensitive. It is the Emperor's job to rule over the various sub-factions and ensure that the Sith Order and the Imperial Legion work together at maximum efficiency. Gone are the days when petty squabbles among Sacred Band and the Sith were permitted, and rivalries encouraged. Chain of command is pivotal to the Empire, and it is the Emperor's job to strike fear into the heart of those who would consider defying it.

Emperor's Hand

OQ8QK6f.jpg

The Emperor's Hand serves as the Emperor's apprentice and personal enforcer. The Hand was employed to carry out tasks on the Emperor's behalf that were dangerous and often required the utmost secrecy. Within the traditional command structure of the Empire, the Hand commands authority equal to their Immortal counterparts. However, their true identity and authority are hidden within the shadows, allowing them to carry out the Emperor's will without drawing too much attention. Under the express orders of the Emperor himself, the Hand can temporarily wield more authority, such as commanding Imperial troops and organizing the fleet in dire circumstances, but this is not a power that is regularly part of the Hand's authority.

Much like the Dark Lord of the Sith's apprentice, however, the position of Emperor's Hand can be changed at the whim of the Emperor, and it is not uncommon for the Emperor to have a multitude of Hands to carry out his will, unaware of the existence of the others. On the whole, the Hand serves as one of the many tools the Emperor can employ to strike fear into the hearts of the galaxy, as well as to keep the Empire's more ambitious members in check.

The Imperial Legion

OzukOWJ.jpg

During the reign of the old Sith Empire, the Sacred Band was born out of bloodshed and war. They were an army of well-trained but expendable warriors who did the bidding of the Sith Lords as their slaves, yet were required to prove their worth. At their height, to even become a member of the Sacred Band meant that a prospective member was required to kill Sith in melee combat. Though this tradition ceased with the fall of the old Sith Empire, the legacy of strength instilled within the Sacred Band is a tradition that continues to this day even with the Imperial Legion.

When the Sith Empire fell, the blame fell squarely on the shoulders of the Sith Lords. It was through their unbridled passions and ambitions that the Empire consumed itself, giving the Jedi Knights an opportunity to strike a fatal blow. When the Sith retreated to Korriban and the small dominion that they had left, the remnants of the Sacred Band remained on Ziost, where they began asserting their own authority over their world.

In the century since the Sith Empire fell, the Sacred Band became a true force to be reckoned with and represented the backbone of the Sith Brotherhood. No longer were they slaves, but warriors and leaders in their own right, standing shoulder to shoulder with the Lords of the Sith in the fight against the Republic. This band of misfits, mercenaries, patriots, criminals, and warriors alike proved their worth through rigorous combat and intensive military training, making the survivors equal to the combat prowess of the Sith themselves.

With the dissolution of the Brotherhood, and the birth of the Empire, the Sacred Band saw itself reorganized as well. Gone is the archaic and rebellious nature of the Band. In its place stands the rigid sturdy war machine of the Imperial Legion. Backed by the centuries of strength that the Sacred Band inspired, the Imperial Legion relies on chain of command, and authority above all else. The Imperial Legion's Stormtroopers form the massive military branch of the Empire, while Imperial Shock Troopers are comprised of the former elite fighters of the Sacred Band and are an even greater force to be reckoned with.

Stormtrooper (optional)

P4hFJ6V.jpg

Forming the bulk of the Imperial Legion, Stormtroopers are the most elite army this galaxy has ever seen. Having gone through extensive training at the Stromtrooper Corps, these individuals are a force to be feared. Neglecting the old competitive nature of the Brother/Sister among the SBZ, the Stormtroopers are designed to be the epitome of efficient killing machines within the Empire. Stormtroopers take pride in their armor, personalizing pieces of it with paint, battle damage, and scratches to make their personal mark on it. The sight of this uniform armor strikes fear in the heart of the masses.

Stormtroopers are jacks of all trades, though often find themselves best at one specialty or another. Some find themselves particularly skilled at melee, while others are medics, snipers, or assassins. Few force sensitives exist within the Legion, as most are poached by the Sith Order. Those who remain, however, are encouraged to use the Force to their advantage so long as it brings about victory.

121st Division
Shock Troopers

HQpcrai.png

Within the masses of the Imperial Legion there is an elite fighting force that puts even the Stormtroopers to shame, and these are the members of 121st Division. Made up of the former brothers & sisters of the Sacred Band, as well as newcomers who have proven themselves to be fierce and lethal, the 121st are the rising stars among the Legion. The base title for these troopers are Shock Troopers, but in truth titles can range for members of the 121st. Similar to the Sith, who have their Warriors, Inquisitors and Sorcerers, the 121st are made up of Shock Troopers, Assassins, Explosive Experts, and pilots. Any member of the 121st should be able to stand toe to toe with a Jedi Knight or Sith and come out victorious, let alone a GAR Soldier.

The 121st, though still under the Commander, have proven themselves so often in battle that they are considered to be higher ranking than the average Storm Trooper, and are capable of ordering them around on the battlefield. These soldiers may wear standard stormtrooper armor should they like, but are allowed and encouraged to wear their own armor.

Commander/Admiral

2IFzKBo.jpg

Even among the elite of the Legion there exists an even more advanced group. These soldiers are known as Commanders on the ground and Admirals in space. As the Imperial Legion is built upon strict chain of command and respect, a Commander or Admiral's word is law on their respective battlefields. Commanders are members of the 121st who lead platoons of Stormtroopers, and are the only non-Force sensitive individuals in the Empire (excluding the Warlord or Emperor) who can command the Sith. Admirals command the same authority, but over the vessels and crews that man the Empire's naval forces. These veterans are sent into battle to change the tide of war, winning battlefields for the glory of the Imperial Legion. Legend has it that only a dozen of the old Sacred Commanders were sent to Ossus to sack a Jedi temple on the planet, decimating the Jedi populace; whether true or not, their prowess in battle, even against Jedi and Sith, is a force to be reckoned with.

Commanders and Admirals are generally used to lead missions and campaigns under, if not in conjunction, with Sith Lords. A Commander's authority can range from a simple platoon to an entire Star Destroyer, if not granted more by the Warlord or Emperor. Commanders are symbols to the non-Force sensitive populace, a symbol that even those not touched with the gift of the Force can thrive in a cruel and unforgiving galaxy. Commanders over time have donned several specializations, including spymaster and Dark Honor Guard.

Supreme Commander
(assistant faction leader)

rK6MC2M.jpg

Formerly called "the Warlord," the Supreme Commander is the true face behind the Imperial war machine. The Sith have largely focused on the campaign against the Jedi, while the Supreme Commander has carved the path to the Sith's objective, creating opportunities for both the Sith and the Legion to exploit. Commanding the entire Imperial Legion and bowing to no one except the Emperor, the Supreme Commander is the epitome of strength, a fearsome leader who tolerates no opposition. Many Sith have lost their lives trying to defy the will of the Warlord.

The Warlords of old have been responsible for the rise and survival of Sith dominion, expanding borders and combating the Border Alliance, and subsequently the Grand Army. A grudging respect is held toward the Supreme Commander by many Sith. "Supreme Commander" is the highest position that can be obtained by a non-Force sensitive, save for truly remarkable individuals who can claim the mantle of Emperor for their own. The Supreme Commanders carve a bloody footnote in history upon each ascension, proving only the very strongest deserve to lead. The Supreme Commander obeys only the Emperor, for the Emperor embodies strength. Working alongside the Dark Lord of the Sith, the two are equals and often work hand in hand when it comes to conquests.
