[Covax]

Just before dawn on the backwater world of Tangrene. Covax was deep within the overgrown forest in the northern region of the plant, ass deep in mud and muck as the local weather went sour not long after he landed. After assisting @Artorigas Wessex in the acquisition of his family estate the Sith noble offered him yet another lucrative opportunity.

The task seemed simple enough. Link up with another Sith to scout and secure an old Imperial emplacement. The facility would be used later for Art's other efforts. Or at least that's what the merc assumed. However he quickly realized that the old base was not as inactive as this employer assumed. Sizing up the outside with the scope of his rifle, Covax could see what appeared to be a couple of ship outside the hanger. Nothing high end of course. In fact..."Fucking pirates." He blurted to no one in particular. However if the Sith he was suppose to me was near by he would of easily heard the merc.

[Raksis]

Raksis lurked above Shane in the trees overhead. He could drop down on the mercenary, whether walk with him or to kill him, but Raksis enjoyed staying out of the mud. After hearing his comment, the Dathomarian…well, remained silent. There was no need to talk to someone who was literally beneath him. If Shane was as skilled as Raksis had been informed, then he should be able to pace with the Sith Marauder.

Their mission was clear. However, the ancient evil that guided Raksis had other plans for him. Artorigas was catching up with him in power which made Raksis scowl and scorn. He wasn’t wearing his helmet anymore and his displeasure could be seen, if Shane knew he was there, from below. He leapt from branch to branch gracefully and silently above Corvax until he finally decided to make himself known.

“Pirates are led by the strongest amongst them. Both physically, mentally, and sometimes spiritually. I want you to find this leader that holds the gangs’ honor and crush him. It is the only diplomacy these wretches know.” Raksis spoke coldly into his com link. “After we break their leader, we break them too. Think of it as…your own band of vulgar miscreants that shoot at whatever you deem worthy of a couple holes to the head.” Raksis chuckled following that remark and continued forward in stealth, keeping himself aware of his surroundings in case he needed a quick and decisive defense.

[Covax]

"Oh I'm getting extra for working with this creepy dude." Covax muttered to mostly himself. He hadn't known the Sith was above him until he started to move. While he could not easily hear the Sith himself, the tree above him did make an odd rustling sound. Like small bird taking flight, only is was a 200 pound man with a laser sword.

However the merc could see no flaw with the Sith's plan. Covax goes for the gold, while this weirdo presumably lays waste to the rest of the fort. So with that in mind he let the Sith creep on forward and literally fade away into the darkness at the edge of the forward landing pad. While he took another path that looked like it would lead a little deeper into the fortress.

The path itself was a duracrete walkway partly taken back by the forest. It took the merc past the exterior walls that were defensible but quickly degrading to rust an rot. As Covax entered the facility he noticed a pair of thugs getting warm by a fire under a makeshift rain shelter.

Quickly looking around, no one else appeared to be outside, meaning these two drew the short straw to guard while the others inside were likely partying it up. So Covax thought he'd try something, and casually walked up to the small fire barrel beside the other two men.

All three men now gave each other a casual nod. The thugs returned there attention to the fire then for a split second before they both, "Hey wait.." It was too late however. Covax had the hand cannon draw and put a bolt in the man's head closest to him before quickly shifting his body to the left and putting two in the chest of the other thug. "Oh I'm telling Aska about this one."

[Raksis]

The Sith drew his vibro blades and swiftly jabbed one at the back of Shane’s neck, inches from making contact. He held the blade as a threat and chuckled to himself while doing so. “No, you won’t be telling anyone of what happens here.” Raksis said in sudden seriousness. He sheathed his weapons and continued forward, passing by the the mercenary. Four more guards where huddled around a similar fire, none of them expected to be choked simultaneously with the Force.

After crushing their windpipes, Raksis moved forward in stealth- the easiest way this job was going to be done. He spoke into his com link once again, “Covax, I need you to do something for me- you’ll get paid extra as you wish. Their leader, find them and challenge him. I trust you’ll be quite able to defeat him in single combat, so I’ll keep any cheaters out of it. I need you in charge of these scoundrels, it’ll make everything else easier.”

[Covax]

Quite as the Sith thought he was, he wasn't that quite. As the the horned fucker's blades drew the merc pulled his hand cannon and to he barrel to Raksis gun as the blade came to the human merc's neck. The Marauder would of course flaunt a little power, killing several pirates at once with a mere closing of his hand. But Covax just gave a nod.

Covax could swear the fucker was grinning, as he moved away. Still more then a little on edge, he continued to follow the slippy sith with the pistol until he once again faded into the shadows. "Ohh you motherfucker." He fumed. Then the Sith chimed in on the comlink.

"Fine. That's you wanna play it. Ok fine.... come at me while we're on the job... you can..." He growled through his teeth. However not replying over the open com. Putting his pistol away he rolled one of the thugs over and pulled his comlink from his belt.

"Would the scum sucking piece of poodoo who thinks he runs my fortress get his ass out there to the main yard. I killed most of your men. I want a challenge."

[Raksis]

"Good, good...Now he'll be considered a coward if he doesn't meet your demands. Use that against him, too." Raksis said into his com while he was choking another loyalist. He kept him struggling just enough for the pirate to breathe to make interrogation easier. "Now, tell me...Who is your master?"

The body dropped and went limp. A few guards came to clean up Raksis, but the Sith was faster. He dashed forward in a dark blur, cutting at the throats of his victims to keep their screams and calls for help silenced. The smarter ones began to run, but were again, too slow for Raksis who only needed to throw one blade to sever the heads off the three deserters. After the blade returned to Raksis, he spoke again into the com.

"Their 'captain' is an abusive coward anyway. This, however, makes his grunts a little bit more willing to find a new leader. Offer the others glory and honor...and money. Lot's of money. And offer them death if they decline- it's the only language these fools speak."

[Covax]

A tall muscular Weequay would appear from the inside of the facility. Surrounded by several other pirates and a couple of attack droids. The apparent leader walking just ahead of the remaining members of his crew. "Mmm how about I just kill you and your spooky little friend. Yes, I like that plan much much better." The pirate leader would then look to his men. "Who ever brings me the head of these intruders will get five thousand credits a head."

The droids would march out toward the location of the Sith. While about a half dozen of the remaining pirates would storm ahead of the leader. Blasters already firing. Covax returning fire as dashing for anything looking like cover. "Well I got their attention. How about a little help." He yelled into the comlink.

Finding a stack of shipping crates, Covax flopped over them and hit the dirt on the other side. laser bolts cooking over head as he did to. The pirates continued to march forth. punching holes in the sad excuse for cover.

 

[Raksis]

(Mobile)

Raksis sighed with disappointment. He couldn’t use any fear tactics against droids, but at least they still had a slight panic before Raksis severed them in two. He dropped silently, behind the group, and began cutting at the back of their necks as he did the other guards. After he took done two, the others opened fire, lighting up the dark corridor Raksis fought in. He leaped to the side of the wall and used the force to give him more momentum as he plunged through another row of droids with his vibro blades.

After clearing the first apparent wave, the Dathomarian went to lend a sword to Covax. “Call off your grunts, coward.” Raksis spoke smoothly to the weequay. “My…friend here challenged you to a dual,” he deflected a few bolts and then froze another, sending it back to the idiot how shot it. “You must be so exhilarating in bed. Imagine all the positions you could into without a spine.” He cooed staring down the pirate captain.

Raksis needed Covax to have control of this place. Control of these people. Artorigas was a young fool and Raksis needed him to stay out of the Dathomarian’s grand Vision for good.

[Covax]

As the Sith took care of the droids, Covax pulled a tthermal grenade. Arming the explosive and tossing it over the creates. The orb rolling to the center of the group before exploding. Turning the pirates to mostly ash. What was left was bits and pieces. The towering human would then stand up as the crazed Sith started to the Leader and the lost couple of pirates.

"Friend?" Covax mocked. The Sith would then send the bolts, returner to sender. Literally leaving just the leader at this point. Confused, and more then a little irritated with this psycho, the merc waiting till the Sith close to withing spitting distance of the pirate. Presumably to choke him, or verbally assault him some more. But Covax would instead shoot the leader in the head. Punching a fist sided laser bolt hole in the man's head.

Holstering the his pistol, Covax would then turn away from the Sith and the damn fortress. "Job done horn head. Tell Art don't tell Art. Turn the place into a Zabrak brothel, I don't care. I'm getting paid either way."

[Raksis]

After the Sith watched captain fall limply to the floor, he sighed and tightened his fists. Artorigas was such a pain and this merc was one, too. Luckily, they were both irrelevant to his Vision and could be wiped away with ease given the opportunity.

"I wonder, did you enjoy watching the flesh rot away from your little girl's bones?" Raksis was equally irritated and wanted this whole mission to be over with. He'd play his own little insults, too. "Everyone died. That wasn't apart of my plan. You'll get paid whatever Artorigas offered." He stalked away back outside and ordered Herald to pick him up. He watched his T-6 approach from afar. While he waited, he thought about Shane and what Raksis saw in his head.

"Mind me. I saw her rot away. Both of them. That virus is indeed quite the killer. Next time we meet, these horns will be the last thing you see." He leaped up into the opened hatch of his ship and muttered to someone who wasn't there before it closed and the Orcus left the mercenary to his own thoughts.
