Shai was quite happy that she managed to land the job. It was simple and easy. Pick up some guns. Load said guns into ship. Fly over to the client. Get paid and get drunk. Exactly the type of thing she was looking for to start recovering all the credits she lost when her parents' company collapsed. Hopefully she could save up enough to bust her mother out. But that wasn't today's concern. The only thing on her mind now was that she landed a job and could start building up her family name again.

Her freighter was neatly parked and the cargo ramp was wide open. She had met up with her employer and established the details. A couple dozen crates were standing outside of her ship...and the Shistavanen was furiously tugging, yanking and pulling at the ones on the ground. To any person with even an ounce of upper body strength it probably would be easy enough to lift and stack in the cargo hold. But for the wet noodle making a fool of herself it was no use. She finally gave up on trying to move herself and stomped off towards where some people were walking past her landing pad. "You guys wanna help a poor girl out?" she asked with a hopeful smile. Alas, nobody wanted to help her out. "Anyone?" she called out, her smile faltering.

"Oh kark you guys then!" she shouted and stomped back to her ship, ignoring the snickers from some onlookers. "Buggy, get over here! Help me out." she ordered her droid who came racing over towards her. She took hold of a crate and, with the help of her droid, managed to drag it on board. "YES! Haha!" she cheered, throwing her arms into the air. Though one look at the pile of other crates waiting to be loaded was enough to sap her spirits and sag her shoulders. "Ugh. Come on, buggy. Let's get moving." she said to her droid as she walked over to the next crate. "I swear, I'm going to steal the first thing I see capable of lifting these. Damn Hutts, stingy as ever." she grumbled to herself before working on loading in the next one. "And I'm gonna shoot the first one I see who laughs at me!" she shouted with a glare at some kids who were laughing heartily at her struggle.

[Kai]

Kai took a shuttle to Nal Hutta. It was a paid for one that came and went from Nar Shaddaa and he shared the ride with other civilians. Eventually he found his way to the ship he was going to be using for his latest job. His Kaleesh employee, Bruggan, was with him. "Don't you think the sky here looks like it's made out of farts?" Naturally the stoic thug did just gave a mildly amused huff.

The Grysk watched the shistavanen struggling with a crate. He pulled out a cigara from a tin and proceeded to light it up. There wasn't a loader droid in site or a utility sled. He scratched his nose as he observed the woman he had contracted for this job. How did she expect to hand load five tons worth of arms and associated gear. "You work alone and don't have a loader droid or anything?" He sucked the smoke between his teeth before letting out a curling cloud as he made his way closer.

"Bruggan, this is Shai, Shai this is Bruggan." He introduced the two of them. "You should buy one. A loader droid I mean." The dark sider spoke from a business standpoint. It was worth the investment. Otherwise she should have help like employees. But seeing as that meant being an actual boss it might not be what the wiry canine was suited for. "Want one?" He held the small tin of spice laced cigaras for Shai to take if she wanted one.

As Shai was grunting away, some creep accompanied by another creep decided to bother her. "Yeah well, usually one is always around. But of course the Hutts are too damn stingy to borrow me one!" she ranted away before dragging the crate further. When he said her name, she was taken by surprise. She hadn't met her actualy contractor for the guns face to face yet, so having a stranger know her was a little odd.

She stood up and looked at both the Grysk and the Kaleesh. A cackling laugh escaped her as he corrected himself. "I'd be concerned if you meant him." she joked as she calmed down. He offered her a very fine-looking cigara and she didn't hesitate. "Oh man, it's been a while since I had something this good. Thanks!" she said with a big smile before pulling out her lighter. Once it was lit she took a long drag and melted on the spot. "Ohhh man...that's nice." she muttered before taking another drag.

She finally snapped back to the situation at hand and looked back to the Grysk. "Sorry if I sound like a harpy, but who are you?" she asked him with a squint. "Your voice seems familiar though I can't say I've seen your...uhhh...face before." she really wasn't sure whether it was a mask, tattoos or actually his face. She'd heard about Grysks and their rather infamous looks...but damn, they were ugly up close. At least this guy's tattoos, or whatever, looked pretty awesome so she gave him a pass.

Kai raised an eyebrow at Shai admitting she did not recognize him. "Malakai Beck." He shot a thumb towards himself. "...I'm very forgettable." His tone was more like someone trying to give Shai the benefit of the doubt. Like most people took several interactions with the Grysk before they remembered him despite it being far from the case.

"Alright...Bruggan you watch the ship and cargo...." The Kaleesh moved towards the crate and began lifting with a bit more ease than Shai. Malakai turned to look at the Shistavanen again and pointed a skeletal gloved hand in her direction. "...you and me, we're getting a loader droid." The hand moved to gesture beyond Shai towards where he hoped there was a droid shop. "...we're getting you a droid." Taking another long drag he began heading away from the landing pad despite having just arrived.

She blinked at his comment before coming to a sudden realization of who he is. "OH YOU'RE MALAKAI!" she said a bit too loudly. "Now I'm on board!" she grabbed hold of his hand and gave a firm handshake. "Well nice to meet you face to face, Malakai. And don't worry, you're not forgettable. Trust me, not with a face like that." she assured him as she released his hand.

He immediately took charge and ordered his friend to watch her stuff before telling her that they were getting her a loader droid. "You won't get any objections from me! Thank you, though. I was planning on going off looking for one after this job was done. But if you wanna do it now, I'm with ya!" she explained. "Personally I would have loved to go give ol' Hurr Durr up there in his palace a piece of my mind for leaving me to struggle like that alone. But then again, I don't think that would be the secret to a long and happy life." she rambled on with a smile as she walked beside Kai.

"Can I just say that you got a karking awesome face!" she said she she glanced at him, taking a drag from her cigara. "I've seen some pics of Grysks and usually they look like they got slapped with a shovel. That or they look like they climbed out of a painting. You look good, though!" she rambled away some more, her smile a mile long. She flicked out a pair of aviators and slipped them on while walking with a happy spring in her step. "Thanks again, by the way! I swear I'll pay you back after getting the cash from this job..." something suddenly dawned on her as she looked at her boss. "Oh wait! You're paying me!" she cackled away. "You can just take it off my pay." she dismissed.

She smoked away further until they reached the droid shop. Her attention was drawn immediately by some awesome plates and colours for BG-units. "Oh man, Buggy would look adorable with these." she commented as she lowered her glasses to look the stuff over.

She was enthusiastic and observing Shai's character had him entertained. An entertained smile crossed his face due to her reaction to his introduction.

"Hurr Durr?" He asked with a quizzical look. "You mean Durr the Hutt?"

When she complimented his appearance he could help but let out a singular yet genuine laugh. "HA! Thanks, I guess. You're not bad yourself." People got hung up on some things and while Kai appreciated the outrageously gorgeous he had a different outlook on beauty. The shistavanen wasn't bad, as far as canine humanoids went. Talk about a hot bitch... His hand waved through the smoke he puffed out before him as he walked towards the nearest droid store.

As they made their way to the droid shop he looked at her realizing she was probably not the brightest bulb. Her surprise by the fact he was paying her was enough to make him wonder how she had made a living in her line of work so far. What one criminal takes for granted, another appreciates. Missfits, broken things and the outcasts all made their way to Hutt space at one point or another and Malakai wasn't going to let a good opportunity go to waste. But Shai laughed and offered to take it out of her pay even though that was what Kai had planned from the beginning. It was nice to meet someone with appropriate business sense.

When they got to the droid shop the Shistavanen went straight for the astromech units. Kai let her peruse for a moment before flicking his Cigara stub back outside. "Hey....loader droids...not astros." The hand that had flicked his cigara stub pointed towards the section of the shop with the manual labor droids.

He seemed to be confused over her name for the Hutt, but she simply gave a nod. "Yup! Not a fan of him personally, his goons tried to kark over my dad once. I can assure you that a firefight between pirates and Hutt gangsters isn't a place for a fourteen year old." she chatted away. He went on to compliment her back which prompted a hearty laugh from her. "Now don't go lying to me in my face. That's just rude." she joked with a wink.

At the shop, she got stuck by the astromech parts until he spoke up. "Oh, sorry. I always keep a lookout for stuff like that. Buggy loves getting new looks every couple months." she admitted as she caught up with him. She took her glasses off and slid them into her pocket, though she kept the cigara firmly in her grasp. She glanced over all the different types of droids as they maneuvered through the items. "Man, I need to check this place out more next time." she commented, stopping to inspect a rather peculiar droid. "No way. Kai, check this out! It's a real B-1 battle droid! Doubt it works, though. They're ancient." she commented before pushing on. "By the way, mind if I call you Kai? It's either that or Skelly boy." she joked.

A smirk spread on her face as she gave him a nudge with her elbow. "Or if you feel funky, we can settle on Skull Daddy." she teased before letting out a snicker.

They finally reached the labour droids and she looked around with wide eyes. "Oh man, this is gonna be hard to choose." she spoke to herself before taking another drag of her cigara.

He folloed the shishstavanen around and would just watch her mostly talk for her own sake. Either she was just a chatty person or she spoke out of nervousness. 0"Kai's fine." The Grysk replied with a warm grin. Skelly boi was fine too. It wasn't the first time but it wasn't inaccurate. The Skull Daddy part made him squint for a moment. That is bedroom only

As they came to the different labour droids Kai looked them over. Shai seemed indecisisive so he wondered which direction to nudge her. "The stevedores are pretty solid choices. Otherwise yeah a sec droid or B1 could do manual labor though not as good. Plus..." He flicked a finger on the droid's chest causing rust flakes to dust for a moment. "...that."

Kai decided to help her out on what droids to go for. She glanced at the droid he "dusted off". In all honesty, any more dusting would result in a droid without a chassis. She looked up at him and then back at the droids. "Well it's a pretty easy choice, now isn't it?" she quipped with a chuckle. "Yeah the Stevedore's good. I can get a security or battle droid at some other point to help out on the ship." she explained, walking over to the massive labour droid. She fiddled around until she found its activation switch, turning it on and taking a few steps back. "Alright so...could you take care of the pay while I get those crates loaded up?" she asked him before looking back up at the droid.

"You're coming with me, big boy." she said to the droid as she grabbed a hand and pulled it along. "Thanks boss! Might treat you to a drink later." she said as she led the droid out. Outside she gave it its orders and then turned back to the shop to catch up with Kai.

She peeked around the doorframe before waltzing back in. "Steve's loading the crates up now. We'll be ready to fly off in a bit." she folded her arms as she stood next to him, looking around the shop. "So why are you here? Just coincidence we bumped into each other or are you looking for something else to do?" she asked him calmly, picking some dirt out from under a nail. A sudden grin appeared on her face.

"Ey boss." she said, looking up at him. "Since you seem to be in a helping mood, how would you like to help me upgrade my ship?" she asked him with a sly tone. "I heard from some chatter of a couple Crimson Dumbass ships that's in a rather acquirable position. Hutts say they got hit by some boys from Florrum, got knocked around good. So they need repairs." she explained, turning to face him. She threw an arm around his side and started walking with a happy smile...once business was concluded, of course. "Come on! It'll be fun! Get some souped up babies to fly around in, pester a bunch of elitist idiots, maybe get drunk somewhere in between there and blow something up...sounds like fun in my books." she continued on, her smile unwavering.

The Grysk would pay for the droid while Shai led it back to the ship. He made sure to affix a restraining bolt to the automaton just to be sure before she ran off with it. "I'm coming on the delivery" He said like that was obvious. "The guys you're meeting with prefer to deal with someone they know. That'd be me."

"How reliable is your info?" He asked with a clearly skeptical tone. Whatever Shai had gathered he wanted to make sure wasn't just baseless street hearsay. Using that for intelligence would get them killed and getting a new ship for that didn't seem like something he was particularly up for unless he could make sure the odds were in his favor. But Kai wouldn't dismiss the option completely.

Shai blinked in surprise at Kai's words. "Coming along?" she asked, almost sounding worried. "You should have said something, I don't have any good stuff on board! We could have made a thing out of the trip." she explained, sounding rather disappointed. Her mood shifted immediately, however, when he asked about her information.

"Very." she said with determination. "I heard the same story from a crew on Florrum a couple days ago. Now I'm hearing it here on Nal Hutta. I'm willing to bet the last of my pay for this job that this is not just a simple bigmouth story some pirates and gangsters drummed up for the hell of it." she finally let go of his waist and gave him a slap on the backside. "So, boss? What'll it be?" she asked him as she spun to stand in front of him. "You wanna go rustle some jimmies, get a souped up ride and have fun doing it?" she asked him with a grin a mile long.

She fished her packet of cigarettes out of her pocket and took out two, offering him one as she slipped one between her lips. "Not as good as the stuff you got, but it gets the job done." she quipped, turning to walk back to the ship.

It wasn't a matter of pleasure. The Grysk was becoming for business purposes. "Don't worry I brought my own beer." What Kai meant by beer was that he had a backpack with plenty of spice and other illicit substances to enjoy for

"So your gambling your pay of your current job to risk getting even more from a new job?" He asked with a skeptical tone. But his face changed to a grin. "We'll head to Florrum...but only after we drop the cargo off on Naboo. I'm interested in getting my hands on some souped up ship. But I'm kind of keen to finish what's already on my plate." He would take the cigarette the Shistavanen offered. <"Thanks.">

It wouldn't be long before the two of them were sitting in Shai's ship with the cargo hold full. The world beneath them got smaller and they were headed off to Naboo. This was not the first time he had made the trip. It used to be his longer charter starting out but now he was using trips like this to test out potential new employees. So far Shai was doing pretty well.

Shai looked up at him with a determined look, giving a nod. "You betcha." she quipped. He seemed interested in the idea and agreed to come along. "Of course. I'd prefer if we finish this first as well...otherwise I got nothing to bet with." she agreed with a cackling laugh, walking ahead after shooting a wink for the cigarette.

In no time at all they were loaded full with crates upon crates of weapons. Her new droid was sitting idly in the cargo hold with her astromech eyeing it up and down with curiosity. Shai was seated comfortably behind the controls of her ship. A song played over the holonet and Shai nodded along to the tune with a smile. "Approaching jump point and..." her hand hovered over the controls after selecting the coordinates. Once they were in position, she pulled the lever back and allowed the ship to shoot into hyperspace. "Gon with the wind."

As soon as they were in the wormhole and her systems were stable, she leaned back and lit a cigarette. "...So skull daddy?" she perked up, glancing over towards him with a sly grin. "Since we got the next couple days to ourselves, why don't we see what drinks we got for lunch?" she joked, standing up and wandering out of the cockpit towards her kitchen area.

Once there, she dug out a good bottle of whiskey from a cupboard along with two shot glasses. "Should work nicely." she thought aloud.

An amused huff came from the Grysk as he was called 'skull daddy'. He wasn't sure how he felt about that just yet. When she got up to go to the limited kitchen on board the ship he watched her go. Kai fished out his own flask and turned back to look at it. Unscrewing it he took a sniff since he didn't quite remember what he filled up with. The strong inhale told him enough that it was Bruggan's brew of jet juice. It was well over one hundred and twenty proof.

The Shastavanen produced some whiskey though which seemed like the better option at the moment. Putting the flask back in his backpack he would keep it in mind for later. "I got something better for chill mode if that's what you're looking for." he said and pulled out a small baggie and other items, setting them down on the table in the ship. He didn't have any of the relaxing body-high based spice rolled up. Finishing a finely hand rolled cigara in expert time he brought the vice up for Shai to take after she had finished pouring them shots. The Grysk's other hand held a lighter, ready for her to take too. If Bruggan was around he would probably join them shortly too. "Before we get too deep into libations and other questionable acts....maybe make sure your astromech is at least keeping an eye on the course." He would prefer to not have a buzz ruined by dropping out of hyperspace suddenly.

Shai seated herself by the booth and started to pour them both a shot. She stopped, though, when he produced the small bag of goodies. "Oh, now you're talking." she quipped, finishing up with their shots.

She accepted the cigara and lighter, working quickly to light it and take a long drag. Her eyes closed and she slowly let the smoke roll out of her nose. "Oh man..." she muttered with a smile, slumping back next to him into the booth. He suggested getting the astromech in the cockpit and she lazily whipped out her comlink. "Buggy, could you please keep an eye on the ship's controls for me? Thanks, cutiepie." she asked politely, receiving an affirmative beep in response.

She glanced at Kai then back to the comlink. "And feel free to take the Kaleesh with you." she continued. Pretty soon the droid came rolling past, hopefully with Bruggan in tow.

Shai sat forward and took her glass, holding it up at him. "To killing boredom." she toasted before downing the shot and placing the glass on the table. "You certainly know how to roll a cigara, I'll give you that." she said as she brought the cigara up to her lips. "You know, boss...you're not so bad a boss." she quipped, glancing at him for a moment before starting to snicker. "Oh man, I'm not even high yet and already I'm talking like a moron." she giggled further as she refilled their glasses, taking up hers again and downing it.

"So what else did you bring along in that goodie bag of yours. she asked, leaning a little into him and tilting her head to look up at him.

Kai rolled a second cigara. When the Kaleesh came up from the back of the ship he looked at both the Grysk and the Shistavanen. Even with his mask like face, Kai had grown to know his body language well enough. The dark sider smiled and held up a fresh cigara for him to take. "Get to know the droid. Check out the nav history."

Bruggan nodded and took the cigara. This way Kai could still get to know Shai a bit better one on one. She had been the one to suggest Kai's man be in the cockpit. That told the Grysk something.

"...may it stay forever dead." He added to her toast. Throwing the drink back he let out a satisfied gravely rasp. "...and you certainly know to buy decent whiskey." Kai complimented back. His eyes drifted toward the cigara in her hands. Kai leaned in a little bit and plucked it in mock kung fu pose before returning to a relaxed posture once again. Taking his own long toke on the vice he would let her take it back once again though held his breath in. Smoke jetted out of his macabre face a moment later that quickly devolved into his attempt to stifle coughs. "not a good pairing with whiskey. ahem...I've got...well, lil bit of everything I think. Whatchu want?" He kept his backpack close by but a playful curiosity expressed on his ghoulish face.

Shai gave him a light salute at the compliment. "I don't waste my money when it comes to drinks." she quipped, bringing the cigara up to take a drag. But Kai wanted some as well and stole it from the shocked Shistavanen. "Hey, that's not nice!" she proclaimed mockingly as she watched him smoke it. He handed it back to her and she helped herself immediately to a few puffs as well.

Just like Kai, she held it in for a good while before slowly blowing the smoke out of the corner of her mouth. The alcohol mixed with the cigara was finally starting to set in, letting her relax a bit deeper into the couch. She took another drag before holding the cigara up for him to take. "Right now I'm all good. I'm just making sure we got enough stuff to keep us busy. Haven't had a buzz like this in a while..." she admitted with an empty stare ahead of her. She looked up at him, falling against him a little in the attempt. "I won't lie to you...I'm feeling karking squishy right now." she said with a wheezing snicker that built up into a loud laugh. When she finally recomposed she pointed up at him. "Your face...I like that shit." she said with a goofy smile.

Shai managed to sit up and pour herself another shot, downing it in the blink of an eye. "How do you kiss, though? Like...is it like kissing a leather handbag? I know it can't be like wood 'cause your face moves...but what the hell." she stared at him for way longer than she should have. "Now I'm curious." she leaned forward slightly but then recoiled, looking away. "Nope. Can't. You're my boss and for the sake of workmanshiprelationsorsomething I can't. It would be very unprofessional." she slurred away, though she didn't sound confident at all in her choice. She looked up at him again with a raised eyebrow. "You got a karking funky face, you know that..."

"Perks of hangin with me is I know how to have a good time. At least I hope I do." Kai took the cigara back. Together they were going to burn through the hand rolled vice but he had more. A goofy chuckle came from the Grysk as he heard her talk about the sensations she was feeling and then a compliment of her own. "Hehe thanks. You've got a pretty wicked smile yourself." He gave a little wink back.

After she took a shot he would pour another one for himself though he did it a little slower than she did. Kai would finished with a cocked eyebrow as Shai continued to speak and give a rather amusing one-person debate out loud. Then again, the Grysk did that a lot. "It's not like we've got an HR department. If the only thing stopping you is because I'm your boss..." He shrugged and remained sitting where he was.

Kai's opinion on beauty was a bit different than the more main stream and 'healthy' people of the galaxy. But he also had yet to meet any Grysk without a strange outlook on aesthetic. Non-humans like shistavanen weren't unattractive by default for him but Shai even seemed like a wild child and that intrigued him.

She gave a wide grin at his compliment. "It's a killer one, ain't it?" she quipped, managing only for a second to not explode into a giggle fit. She looked up at him again as he continued to speak. It took her several moments to actually fully understand what he was actually saying before chortling a little. "You are one...I don't remember what I wanted to say." she trailed off, scooting to sit upright. "Fine then. You can be my boss with benefits." she quipped as she attempted to shift and straddle him.

It got about as far as her just falling flat onto his lap with a grunt.

"Wait! Wait! I got two more chances!" she declared with a giggle as she wormed around to get into position, before finally sitting up and getting th where she wanted to be. Sitting with her legs around him she eyed him for a moment. "Hehe...skull face." she snickered then grabbed his cheeks to pull him closer. She would have commented on the odd feeling of kissing him...but frankly she was way too drunk to register the feeling. She released his face and instead held onto his shoulders. "Now why don't you throw this doggo a bone?" she teased with a sultry voice that lasted an astounding 5 seconds before she erupted into a hearty laugh. Her attempt at trying to appear seductive went right out the window as she couldn't stop laughing at her own terrible joke.

She merely dropped into the couch on her back, resting her legs on his lap as she clutched at her stomach. "OH MAN!" she wheezed in between laugh. Eventually a sound didn't even escape her as she kept laughing, sounding more like a broken whistle.

There was some noise from the cockpit, the occasional whirl or beep from the droid making sounds and probably trying to communicate with Bruggan. But the Kaleesh wasn't much of a conversationalist with people he didn't know so the droid's attempts to socialize would be in vain most likely.

"Oof...easy..." He said as she dropped onto his lap a little harder than he expected. "...I'm delicate." but she squirmed until she had her legs around him. "You comfortable?" He asked rehtorically once she finally stopped moving. His hand gently rested on her thin waist since she didn't have the back of the couch anymore and Shai seemed like the type of Shistavanen to fall easily. Ultimatly she followed through on her clear intention and Kai made no move to stop her. The pun that followed just had him stare at her with a a 'I'm judging you for that' look but he couldn't hold back a snort after she started laughing.

After she slid off and caught her breath he kept her legs in his lap. Leaning forward Kai began to roll another cigara. "Wanna learn how to roll a good cigara?" He would be happy to show her. Shai seemed like good company and knew how to keep things fun and relaxed so at least there was that. Hours would go by but they would make a decent dent in Kai's spice stash.

A few hours before they arrive Kai makes sure to be sober and get some water. His internal organs were not hydrated as often as they should be. They would be meeting people that weren't as chilled out as they were. "You don't happen to carry coffee in this rust bucket by chance?" Some non-illegal psychoactive stimulant would be welcome. He would be able to use the force to neutralize anything else that kept him from thinking clearly enough while still keeping the voices from coming back. He took a long toke on his last cigara at the moment. "Should be landing soon." Bruggan said from the cockpit.
