Light armor is even more prone to customization than normal heavy or medium armor, and is often used by jetpack troops, scouts, snipers, and saboteur troops, bandits, pirates and criminals where the tactical options it allows are most needed. It's also a favorite of lone fighters throughout the Galaxy, who like to bring the intimidating force of their tech into their profession as bounty hunters, enforcers, assassins, or bodyguards.
The armor doesn't tend to invite any scrutiny as the simple plates are covered with a poncho and the helmet is not common place or associated with any factions.
This is just a plug & play armor for anyone looking to make a light armored or Indie-affiliated PC. It's your generic light armor variant. No extra bells and whistles.

Computer spikes are electronic interface tools used to forcibly decrypt or unlock computer terminals. Most unencrypted civilian systems can be cracked in one full posting round, while most military or hardened systems take two or more.
For the unusually paranoid, this helmet function can scramble a person's voice to unintelligible garbage, while allowing commlink conversations to continue as normal. Alternatively, it can be used to "digitize" a voice into a deep bass tone.
The recorder, usually located in the helmet, is a device that records visual audio content for up to an hour. It has to be activated by the user manually for it to begin. It is capable of working with existing HUD systems like advanced zoom (scout HUD) or night vision however as a stand alone function it does not possess any such additional abilities. This recorded data can be transferred to a data storage device or terminal as well after the desired content is captured. A small thumb sized data drive holds the data and can be removed, overwritten or replaced at the disgression of the user.
Most often in the form of a cape or underlay beneath armor, modern armorweave provides protection against the penetrating effects of shrapnel from explosives, basic slugthrowers, and unpowered melee weapons using a tightly woven lattice of the material. It offers no protection against kinetic impact or energy, and vibroweapons (or similar "powered" weapons) cut or burn right through.
