Hi everyone—

This is a quick update on how Lore is going to work in the new timeline. When I initially became the site's lore admin during the Sixth Timeline, it was my hope that, eventually, we would establish a site canon in which things like Lore, Planets, and Species all transferred (with some edits for continuity, obviously) to the next timeline. It is my pleasure to announce that that dream has become a reality.

When The First Sith began last year, we started with a blank slate. No lore articles transferred from the Sixth Timeline. That will not be the case with the Eighth Timeline. Like with tech, the new timeline will kick-off with lore articles already in the Site Lore boards. Some of these lore articles will be new and will help further build the world of the new site canon we are attempting to create. These new lore articles will include things like the Valley of the Dark Lords and the tombs of the Sith Lords that occupy it, which would obviously be very different than Star Wars Legends due to the events of this timeline.

But the most important additions will be your lore. That's right. Many lore articles that each of you created over the course of this last timeline will appear as site lore to be explored in the Eighth Timeline. You may find that these lore articles have been updated to reflect the five hundred years that have passed since the events that they record were written; but this will provide a means for each of you to connect with the work you have put into the current timeline and will allow other users to live in and interact with the galaxy that you helped build for the new timeline.

If one of your lore article makes the jump to the new timeline, here are some things you should know:
  • For standardization's sake, each transferred lore article has been given a very basic format that might deviate from the format you wrote it in.
  • It will be posted under the ownership of the Timeline Bot. However, at the bottom of each player-made lore article, credit has be given to the original author(s) for their content.
  • Some of the content may have been edited, tweaked, or removed. This is to reflect the changes that would have occurred over the past 500 standard years.
It should be noted that not ALL lore articles will be transferred. Only those that would make sense or whose plot specifically was designed for being transferred to the new timeline. I am eager to see you all interact with the lore of timelines' past and tell new stories that will carry our site canon forward for many years to come.

Special thanks to our senior plot mod, @Deviant, for helping me to sort through and determine the fates of so many of these lore articles; and thank you to all of you who have contributed to the Lore boards this past year!
