"Alright gang your half of the mission involves capturing and then interrogating a lovely little fellow!"

Even via holo, Flynn was the kind of guy to be a little bit flowery in his delivery. Most of the people on this part of the mission had probably never even met him before so he was doing his best to give a good first impression! Well that and, as many had bemoaned in the past, he didn't have any kind of off switch so he was always 'on' like this no matter what.

Made him entertaining and a joy to be around!

Right?

"We haven't got a name for your target but we have managed to get a picture of the guy."

Flynn's hologram was replaced by a Sullustan wearing the outfit of a pilot. It was replaced by Flynn again.

"He's a spice runner pilot who often drinks at a local underground dice den after each flight and we've gotten word from people in town that he's made landfall tonight so good hunting!"

Listening to the holo of Flynn, Kholvar couldn't help but wonder why he'd taken this job in the first place. Normally he didn't do much work that wasn't for himself or the Hutts, and the first time in forever he does, and he's being lead by some effeminate whackadoodle. He rolled his eyes heavily just as the holoclip ended.

The group that Flynn had assembled - a Kubaz, a human, and himself - were standing a few dozen meters away from where their quarry typically hung out. The job itself seemed pretty straight forward. Find the Sullustan, make him talk. There were numerous ways they could go about that.. but first and foremost, they needed to nab the mark.

"Do either of you have a plan?" He asked to both his partners before pulling out a thick cigar and lighting it. "I'm not much of a sneaker," Kholvar motioned towards his massive bulk as he said it. "As you can tell. So my first idea would be to just bust into this shithole and haul the Sullustan out by his ears."

Kholvar ashed his cigar on the ground before taking another long puff, thick acrid smoke billowing out of his nose and mouth as he began to talk again. "Of course, both of you are much... smaller than I am. Perhaps you'd prefer another method."

Kholvar didn't really care how they got the Sullustan, only that they did. Sending in the Kubaz and the human into the dice den to flush him out was also the safest option for him, considering he could just bounce and leave them to die should things go sour.

A little den like this was the sort of place Marissa had spent a fair amount of time over the past decade or so. Good place for meetings, for work, though not, she found, for relaxing. Life could often be grimy, loud, frustrating, something that all such dens were as well. If she meant to relax she would do it well away.

Not that today was a day off. Syndicate work was never far behind and here was another one to pick up. A slimy little sucker needed to be sorted out, and so, here was a group to ensure just that,

“No I’ve not exactly been one to storm a place, but we could do a bit of both I should think” she said to Kholvar in reply,

“We could bring him to a side room, offer to buy him a drink, drugs, some temptation or another. Then you come in after and close off the exit” it was an option, and played to all their strengths hopefully. And saved some trouble with the bar, assuming things went well.

Still, that didn’t stop her from checking the blaster that was tied to her ankle quickly, giving it a once over, just to be sure,

“And you can still grab his ears if it comes to it” she played back to the hulking figure by her side,

“Thoughts?”

Tweezo hated field work. And lava. And giant aliens that looked like they could bite his head off in one go. But he also really liked credits and influence, so he was sucking it up and keeping his proboscis shut about his many, many misgivings. The great, shaggy beast was the first to make a suggestion, just go in and nab the Sullustan they were after. No surprise there, but the human seemed to be in a similar state of mind and suggested a slightly subtler version of the get-im plan.

Now, truth be told Tweezo didn't have a better plan himself, he just really didn't want to get within blasting range of this guy. But what if her could make the target walk into their blasting range?

"I could slice into his comlink and ping him with a message, try to lure him outside so we don't even have to go in and get him." Thweezo offered as he drummed his fingers on his portable computer. "A job offer, threat, blackmail, I dunno. Why go to the target when we can make the target come to us?"

He waited to see what the group consensus was.

Thweezo's plan seemed like it might work out best to Kholvar. The only downside being that if that the Sullusten didn't take the bait, the message might spook him and cause him to flee, complicating their whole endeavor. Still though, getting the guy out of the lair and into the sunlight increased their odds of catching him. Kholvar decided to go against his general instincts and trust the weird alien.

"Send the message then, Thweezo." Kholvar said, scanning the area around for some good vantage points for him and Marissa. If they could find some high ground, Thweezo could draw the Sullusten into somewhere more discreet and they could get along with the show.

Spotting a decent roost that overlooked an alleyway, Kholvar cocked his head towards it and motioned to Marissa. "Lets get up there so we can drop, closing off the exit and cornering the idiot."

With a quick running start, Kholvar used his powerful leg muscles to vault himself up, landing on the rooftop he'd pointed out. There was a ladder and a little bit of parkour that Marissa could use, unless for some reason the human surprised him and somehow managed to make the jump.

Listening in on the plan, Marissa had to agree. Getting the Sullustan outside would hopefully mean they could do what they needed to away from prying eyes. Hopefully then Thweezo could pull off what he said he could anyhow.

Watching the hulking Trianii throw itself up onto the nearby outlook, Marissa sighed. Sometimes it felt like there were far too many downsides to being a human, and without being a damn wizard she wasn't going to be able to throw herself up in any way like that,

"There's got to be an easier way to do this..." she mumbled to herself as she followed Kholvar up, taking instead a ladder nearby that led to a rooftop close by. Still, she needed to make the jump across to make sure the man would be cornered when he came around, and that meant a slightly worrying leap from where she was across to a different balcony.

Marissa by now had prided herself on taking risks when she had to, hell, even when she felt like it. But heights were something she still had yet to grow accustomed to. But with a pair of onlookers and a target on the way, her pride wouldn't let her not leap.

And so then, she did.

With a short running start she heaved herself across, shooting through the air with as much force as she could muster for fear of falling short. Too bad then she might have tried a little too hard. Overshooting she knocked her shin smack into the fence that surrounded it. Not a real wound, her pride more wounded than her leg, but enough to kriffing sting. Gritting her teeth and grabbing her gun, she waved down to Thweezo to make the call

Thweezo was relieved to see that the rest of the gang was interested in his plan, but was decidedly less happy to see the beast flip and leap and crawl his way up the side of the building to the roof. The human took a decidedly less flashy way up the side of the bar, but still made a flying leap across the gap between the bar and the building across the alley. Thweezo declared a solid 'fark that' and just shambled up the side ladder to the roof of the bar. The others could handle the main body of the actual kidnapping, he could lend a blaster but that was about it.

"Alright, come to papa." He set up his portable computer on the floor of the roof so he could patch into the local holonet and place the message. Actually hooking up to the network was easy, the hard part would be crafting a message that wouldn't scare off or put their mark on edge.

'Heard about you through a friend. Looking for a fast pilot. Meet in the west alley. Look for the Rutian.'

A little extra incentive to show up, who didn't want to have business with a Twi'lek woman? Besides, they just needed to get the guy out of the bar and under the two main bruisers of this operation. Everything else was just extra.

Inside the bar, their target was celebrating his latest run with a round of the finest watered-down swill when his commlink went off. He looked over the message and considered his options. He was a smuggler, he had a lot of 'friends', and his 'friends' had plenty of 'friends' of their own, so this could be legit. Or it could be a trap, the odds seemed about 50/50 to the smuggler's mind, so he put some credits down for his drink, rested a hand on his pistol, and made his way out of the bar to the alley.

It seemed that luck was on their side for once. From his perch above the alley, kneeling down to conceal himself, Kholvar watched the target walk out of the bar and head straight for the alley. Kholvar made a mental note to praise the alien for his decent idea on how to draw out the Sullusten. Much better than his plan. Much better.

As the target entered the alley, Kholvar positioned himself like the predator he looked like. Waiting until the Sullusten was far enough down the alleyway to truly trap him, *Kholvar leapt from his position and landed right behind him. With a quick jab, Kholvar punched the Sullusten hard in the kidney area, a type of punch that would likely cause him to go down to one knee at least for a moment.

Hopefully the others would be able to capitalize on the opportunity. At the very least, he wasn't going to be able to escape using the same way he arrived.

Having hauled herself up to her current vantage point, Marissa was rather cynical about having to climb back down again, even if it was to lock in their capture of their diminutive quarry. And her shin still hurt, that irritated her too. She didn't have the physical prowess of Kholvar by any means, so when the great lad threw a heavy punch into the Sullustan's kidney, she didn't leap down alongside. Instead, she drew her pistol, and aimed it square at the little mans head.

Fweet! she whistled down to the figure, drawing his attention suddenly up as he struggled to get to his feet. Instead now he glanced around with a worry, and knowing the gun trained on him, and the hulking being that had just smacked him down, he decided instead to put his hands up, his head sagging a little at realising what had happened.

This had all rather picked up from her awkward start, Marissa thought.

Keeping her pistol trained, she moved across the buildings roof until she was right above the pair. With Thweezo around too there'd be no escape. Time for the Sullustan to talk.

Between the hulking Kholovar and the sudden appearance of Marissa, the poor Sullustan looked like he was about to soil his shorts. He had expected a bit of trouble, but not getting ambushed by two clearly well armed and prepared bruisers. And then there was Thweezo. Once the message was sent he gathered up his computer, slid it back into the case, and prepared wit the others to get the drop on their target. Once his more combat-ready companions had pinned the Sullustan between them, Thweezo poked his head out and leveled his pistol at the little smuggler while he tried to do something he would quickly come to regret.

In the spy holos, he'd always seen people sliding down ladders, and of all the impossible holo-acrobatics in those movies he figured this would be the easiest to pull off. So, trying to keep his pistol trained on the Sullustan, Thweezo mounted the maintenance ladder with the confidence of a man who had seen something one to many times in his favorite shows, and tried to slide down the ladder.

Only to get friction burn on his hands not even a quarter of the way down, let go, and crash hard onto his back with a dull thud from his body and a sharp crack from his computer. If he wasn't reeling in unexpected pain that would have been devastating.

"...ow..."

While the job they were on was quite serious and Kholvar was the type of person to generally be a professional, he couldn't help but let out a bout of haughty laughter as Thweezo attempted to get down the ladder and ended up flat on his ass. Kholvar heard the crunch of electronics and was sure the weird alien would be quite upset when he discovered it for himself, but that was the price you paid trying to do stuff you only see in holomovies.

The Sullusten didn't seem to find the humor in the situation, though you probably couldn't blame him. With Kholvar looming behind him and a pistol drawn on him from above, there really wasn't much the poor alien could do about his situation. *Retrieving a length of fibra-rope, Kholvar was able to bind the Sullusten's hands, then around his waist, then down to his ankles - essentially making the Sullusten into not much more than a human log fit to be carried.

Hefting the man over his shoulder, Khovlar looked around for somewhere more.. intimate so that they could get down to business. Spotting a boarded up door frame of a building nearby, Kholvar assumed it was probably abandoned, which would suit their needs perfectly. Walking over, the hulking Trianii punched a hole straight into the cheap plywood and ripped open a makeshift entrance.

Kholvar traveled deeper into the building until he was confident no one would hear what was going from the outside. Finding a chair, Kholvar slumped the Sullusten into it and waited for his partners. They had some interrogation to do and things would likely get... a little ugly.

Should be a good time for all involved.

This whole little operation was quite the sight to behold. Things were going well, make no mistake, but the collection of characters, and she had to admit that included herself, were a colourful bunch to say the least. Not that it meant she could lower her game. She already did that with her miserable climbing abilities. At least now in the dark of the abandoned lot, she could work with what she knew,

"Well, hello there" she began as she leant over the Sullustan from above. He clearly wasn't cut out for this inevitable part of criminal life,

"Ah, ah, ah what do you want from me?" he blurted out suddenly. Marissa just smiled as she came down to his level to address him,'

"There's a shipment moving very soon, and we're told you know where that's going to be happening" she carried on calmly to their prisoner, it didn't seem like this was going to be too hard at this point, he was scared enough and in his eyes it was clear he knew what they were talking about,

"West, west oh here, about 30 clicks or so, I have, I have the coordinates in my bag if I could just get-" Marrisa looked back and smiled at her compatriots. The Sullustan was a pushover.

As Thweezo struggled to his feet he followed Kholovar and Marissa into the abandoned building, rubbing the back of his sore neck and peering into his electronics bag. At first glance the damage to his computer seemed minor, the casing looked alright and the only outwardly broken part of the device was the mouse, which looked like the crushed remains of a real mouse thrown off a building. When he took a seat and started to open the device, however, he started to see what was wrong. The screen was cracked, just barely giving a coherent image to work with, and a few of the secondary keys weren't working. But, at least from what he could gather, the hard drive seemed to be intact and he still had just enough functionality to call this a working computer.

When he looked up from his monitor he was secretly pleased to see his comrades hadn't broken out the clamps and the jumper cables, the Sullustan seemed to be in a very cooperative mood.

"Well don't just sit there, jowls. Show us the coordinates!"
Hardly intimidating through his translator, but between the human and the gigantic wolf-man the Sullustan seemed ready to soil his space-pants.
