Now, before you say anything, this is NOT a new rule. It has been in effect for quite some time, though many people do not follow it. There is a limit to the amount of Lightsaber Forms one can know, and they are as follows:

Sith Devotee: ONE
Sith Knight: ONE
Sith Lord: TWO
Apprentice to the Dark Lord: THREE
*Dark Lord of the Sith: THREE

*Though you are permitted to know a third, the third form cannot be mastered. Personally, I feel that knowing more than one form is pretty generous as most Jedi in the films and such only mastered one and then knew the bare basics of a few others.

Also, another point I must address. Should a Jedi Apprentice or Jedi Knight turn to the Dark Side and join the Sith Order, his/her master may not teach him/her a new lightsaber form, as Jedi Apprentice is equal to Sith Devotee just as Jedi Knight is equal to Sith KNight. Should a Jedi Master turn to the Dark Side, which is equal to Sith Lord, and he becomes simply a Sith Knight, then that would seem to present a problem. The solution to that is simple. You may know two, but please only use one.

Any questions, please feel free to ask.
