I like the ship, i like the design, the write up is fair though my concern is ever the same. How much R&D was put into these ships, how many resources and manpower had to be realistically routed not only into their development, but conception. I really like them! Dont get me wrong. But ships on this MASSIVE scale would take ten years to make and finish 100%

That said, the ship seems balanced, it fits the bill, chiss ships should be high tech and top of the line. Simple as that. The design is well done and in depth, and i would reply to all of them, but they're all well within the bounds of this chiss. And none are unreasonable. I'd say, that if you want these ships to be in service you would have to wait, and perhaps decommision a few ships to use the raw materials for. It would speed up thier creation process, if it were just a conversion process and upgrade/ complete overhaul of outdated current ships.

That's my say, as i was asked for my opinion.

These designs are going to be implemented in the Chiss fleet writeup for the Main Faction Review, not just an IC development to the military. However, the Chiss wouldn't need to decommission current ships to implement them in the fleet, only dedicate workers to construction labor. If anything, offering the surplus of jobs in the economy would reinforce the civilian lifestyle and production count in Chiss-friendly space, while still having the natural resources on their own planets.

Although, manufacturing plants and stations still need to be added to the writeups, so it'll balance out by the time the review is finished.

The ship is very much an assault vessel, and despite its offensive strengths, I question how it will fare against GA warships. Regardless, it's still an impressive vessel, one I personally like greatly.

Awesome! Correct me if I am wrong Zach. Fusion, I believe our Maser Technology is three times more powerful than a laser cannon, our MegaMasers three times more powerful than a turbolaser, and our Heavy MegaMasers are three times more powerful than our MegaMasers!

Not to mention Chiss shielding and armor is much more advanced, recharges quicker, and our ships, though smaller, are MUCH more agile. Our fighters have the same benefits of power in their Masers, shielding, and agility. The Chiss do not NEED the super large ships of the GA to get the job done even better.

And for my friend Nite. These ships have reached the end of their R&D, so are being added to the ranks of the Chiss. The Chiss are known for their ability to build ships quickly and efficently, much like the Sluis. Chiss also have access to a massive supply of ore, in the many asteriod belts that occupy their territory!

Hmm... Maser technology is, unless I am mistaken, considered stronger then blasters or lasers due to the kinetic energy aspect of the weapon, which technically would not prove that much of an advantage until enemy shields were down, at which point I would indeed expect them to do double to triple the damage of a comparable laser. I always thought heavier weapons were typically twice the yield of lighter weapons, super-heavy weapons being twice the power of heavy weapons as well.

Chiss shielding and armor is admittedly more advanced, and the vessels do seem to have a certain grace about them that would indicate superior agility, but I'll pick an Imperial warship with a beam cannon or two(or more) any day. :p

Well, when you play the game "Freespace 2" for the majority of your life, you eventually learn to believe beam cannons are superior to almost every other weapon in the galaxy. :p
