Layla Tamm was a force-sensitive Togruta female from Shili who served as a padawan in the Jedi Order during the Force Eternal era.

BIOGRAPHY

Layla was born on Shili, and was found to be strong in the Force when she was four years old. The village elders, following traditions of old, tested her and declared that she was to join the Jedi. She joined the Jedi soon after and was mostly raised on mobile bases in those early years, as the Jedi were dealing with the aftermath of the fall of Ajan Kloss. For the longest time she did not know what it was like to put down your roots and be able to call a place your home, so often were the younglings shuffled from one location to another to keep them safe.

She was twelve when she was brought to Yavin IV, to continue her training and begin looking for a Master to sponsor her promotion to padawan and to guide her through the next phase of her training. As a youngling she was timid and shy, which hampered her growth, though a stint with the Star Guardians helped bring her out her shell as she spent time learning to be a healer and grew more confident of herself. Her time with the Guardians didn't last for long as the disappearance and assumed death of her mentor Clove she returned to the Jedi. Over the years she has grown as a healer, and earned the rank of Padawan, though not yet ready to take her trials.

ABILITIES

As a child Layla was unsure of herself and that greatly hampered her abilities. With age she has gained confidence in her abilities and has grown into a decent healer and a passable combatant. Always a tinkerer, Layla loved pulling things apart, driven by a desire to understand how they worked and fix them. Unfortunately she wasn't particularly good at putting them back together and would get into trouble for breaking something she was not meant to touch. Over time her technical and mechanical know-how has improved, but in this one regard her normally shy nature is replaced by a sense of overconfidence that has no basis in reality, as she is still as scatterbrained in her approach to fixing things as she ever was. Still, she hopes to become as much a mender of droids and machines as she is of flesh and bones.
