18 years ago, a newborn baby was left on the threshold of the Jedi Order on Tython. The child had no discernible pulse, yet was lively and reactive as any child should be. It wasn't long before they were identified as Anzati. While some voiced concerns, the consensus was clear; The Jedi took her in, named her Laura, and once it became evident that she was force sensitive, she was put into training same as any Jedi youngling.
Laura grew up happy, immersed in the light side. It wasn't until her 10th year, when her proboscises fully grew in and she had to adjust to retracting them back into her cheek pouches that she got curious about her species. The Jedi Order was such a diverse place that Laura hadn't felt out of place in the slightest. But when she asked her Masters for more information she sensed some hesitance. They gave her a watered down version of the history of The Anzati. Unsatisfied, the young Anzat searched through the archives and the holonet for more information. The things she found horrified her. She was disgusted by the concept of 'soup'; of devouring someone's brain. They suddenly became cognizant of how their senses always snapped to attention when a particularly strong Master walked by, their innate talent for mind tricks became something ugly. The more she read, the more she began to see herself as a monster.
She continued with her Jedi training, shaken. Nothing the Masters said could make it better. Laura kept her tendrils retracted at all times. She withdrew from her fellow Padawans. She's determined to be the best Jedi she can - and never follow her species' natural inclinations.
- Appearance

Laura has pale greyish skin, long light brown hair, black eyes, and a small build. Laura has a wide, flared nose typical of Anzati. On each side of her nose are two sacs which her flesh-colored proboscises retract into, giving her cheeks a puffy appearance. With her proboscises retracted, Laura can pass as a non descript near human. It would take someone looking closely to spot the cheek pockets.
- Personality

Laura is empathetic, curious, and likes to explore. She's developed a deep paranoia and fear surrounding her species and wants nothing to do with it. Despite her natural curiosity, she has become withdrawn and quite lonely. She has little trust in herself, which hinders her competence as a Jedi.
