There was a common misconception of the Force. A misconception that greater one’s mastery, the more the Force could be understood…the opposite was true. The deeper your connection with the Force…the great your strength…the more confusing the picture became. You could hear the pangs of sadness across worlds but fail to understand why such pain would be permitted. The future became murkier and the path unclear. Alex was the strongest. She was the closest to the Light. Yet, the answers she sought evaded her grasp. She tried to be wise, compassionate, and thoughtful. She tried to chart the best path forward. She was increasingly uncertain where to walk when her job demanded certainty.

Alex walked through the jungle of Yavin searching for answers that she never found. Her mind wide open to the whispers of the Force. Deep in concentration as she walked. She’d walked this same loop around the Temple several times this week…and she would walk it several more before the weeks end. The Morellian Jedi tried and failed to set her mind at ease. She folded within herself before carefully rebuilding her mental walls. Her feet instinctually carried her to the practice ground.

Watching the youth of the Order train soother her soul. It set the Grandmaster at ease to see the pure hearts of the next generation. She arrived quickly enough, doing her best to keep her presence hidden. There was no need to make anyone nervous. Alex waved a hand as one of the instructors caught her eye. She was only there to watch…not give a lesson. Unless the Padawans were interested in the internal frustrations of waging an unending war. She suspected that would not be best practice. So instead she seated herself on a bench and immersed her mind in the simplicity of training.
