Kot'adol'akaan

Strength through Combat
Throughout the glorious history of our people strength has always been revered. Those who were the strongest led, and those who were the fiercest conquered. Such practice keeps our people honed and dangerous like a blade properly taken care of, and reinforced with only the strongest steel. Despite the ferocity of our people, and the strength of our leaders, the situation has occurred where those lacking spine weaseled themselves into positions of power. These pitiful leaders shame our people, and lead our nation into chaos and disarray - and for this purpose the ancient rite of Kot'adol'akaan was established. A mouthful to say, the rite translates in the ancient language of mando'a as Strength through Combat, outlining the method by which Mandalorians can take leadership into their own hands and relieve a perceived weak leader of his position.

The method by which one performs Kot'adol'akaan depends on where within the Dominion's chain of command they sit. For someone of the SuperCommando rank, the only position that can be challenged is the rank of Count, and requires no support. For a Count, the only rank that can be challenged is the rank of Duke, and requires support of two others within the House, if existent. A Duke may challenge the Mand'alor himself, but to do so they must solicit the support of two other Dukes, not including themselves, to a total support base of 3/5 clans, as well as support of the Protectors, or their deaths. If for any challenge a support base is not met, the leader in question may decline the challenge with no embarrassment - as such trivial challenges are dishonorable and, depending on the disposition of those being challenged, may result in repercussions.

If the required support base is reached the challenge will be automatic, and should the individual challenged decline, it would result in an automatic abdication on their behalf, their position to be filled by the challenger. Should the challenged accept, the fight will be 1v1, held on Mandalore, and not interfered with by outside parties. Should the challenged lose, their fate is in the hands of the challenger - with challengers often killing or exiling their opponents after a successful challenge.
