By now everyone in the galaxy had heard of the chaos unleashed by the Killik invasion of the galaxy. People were on edge everywhere, brother watched brother and neighbors watched each other for the faintest signs that someone was a Joiner. For the Sith, however, this paranoid watching was just another Zhellday. Distrust was a way of life, and it was likely for this reason that the Triumvirate of the Sith Academy on Korriban had noted the odd behavior of the High Overseer, Headmaster of the Korriban Academy.

When the First Blade, Academy Warden, and Arcane Master confronted him about the behavior, they discovered that he had, in fact, come under the influence of the Killiks. He fled and the situation had deteriorated. The Killiks began to appear immediately, but in contrast to the invasions on Corellia and Thyferra, their movements here had been more subtle. Small teams of only a dozen or so made attacks all along the exterior of the academy as if probing and looking for something.

The bickering had begun almost immediately. Each member of the Triumvirate wanted to handle the situation differently, each vying for the Headmaster position that had been vacated by the now-Joined High Overseer. With the High Overseer compromised and no Council members on site, the Triumvirate was the ultimate authority here, even outranking other Masters who may have arrived. This was their world, their academy, their responsibility... their domain.

The First Blade - Master Ericton - had long been the head of those who sought the path of the Sith Warrior and the military academies. Master Ericton was a direct man, a hammer capable of crushing any nail, and to him that's all the Killiks were. He pushed for moving Imperial forces and Acolytes to attack the Killiks directly.

The Academy Warden - Master Trelain - had taught those pursuing the path of assassination and intelligence: the ISB route. She favored cunning, intelligence, and unorthodox tactics to subdue her enemies. She advocated an investigation into those who had been Joined and using that information to track down their Killik masters.

Finally, there was the Arcane Master - Master Letous - who was the greatest scholar at the academy and knowledgeable about all things Dark Side. She had sensed a shift in the Dark Side power that flowed through the Twin Worlds of Moraband and Korriban. She had become convinced that it was related to the Killik threat, and it must be investigated. The Dark Side would show them the truth and give them the power to prevail.

It was also Master Letous who had - unilaterally - decided to open a call to the rest of the galaxy. She had ordered the defenses lowered, though she had no idea who would show up. Would Jedi arrive to defend an academy where Sith Acolytes were raised and trained? Would they use it as an opportunity to attack the Empire? Would they dare come so close to a nexus as dark as Korriban? Questions abounded, but the call had gone out. All hands were being summoned on deck including countless Acolytes. Unlike younglings of the Jedi perhaps, the Acolytes went straight to the front, seeing it as an opportunity to shine and show themselves capable.

Those who had arrived would find themselves gathered just inside the Korriban Academy's main doors. The structure had been destroyed and rebuilt numerous times over the millennia, but it was once again the home for graduating some of the greatest the Sith Order had to offer. Only the most skilled Sith were admitted, and those who survived often went on to greatness. The great entry hall had a large stairwell upon which the Triumvirate stood. They had already been making their way through the group, briefing Sith and outsiders alike as to the plan. The word would pass about what each of them wanted to do.

It was the First Blade who first spoke up over those gathered.

Many of you have already heard about our intentions to stop this outbreak. I will move directly against the Killiks along with any who would join me. Those who are wise would do so and fight our enemy head on. My... colleagues will try to convince you of other choices, but now is not the time for slithering in shadows, he said, clearly unhappy

Master Ericton, we already know that the High Overseer has thrown his lot behind the Killiks, and no doubt there are others as well in the fringe facilities and perhaps even in our ranks. We cannot lead an attack until we know the extent of the infiltration. An investigation I will be heading as well as pursuing the High Overseer, said Master Trelain.

And while I appreciate the action-oriented decisions of my colleagues, our answers will come only from the Force. This place is a nexus of power, and the balance of that nexus has shifted and I do not believe this to be a coincidence, said Master Letous. Until we know the truth of the powers behind this invasion, we will be blind and deaf.

And so it was set. Each of the Triumvirate would choose a different path, and those who had gathered would have to decide which route seemed the most likely to yield results. There was only one thing that could be certain: danger would lurk around the corner of each path.

-This thread is not open to individuals currently on Corellia/Thyferra, but is open to participants from Ruusan.
-Please include summary spoilers at the bottom of your posts
-To be clear, participants will choose to join one of the three members of the Triumvirate and will have a different experience based on which group they join. First Blade will be a more combat focused experience, the Academy Warden will be a more investigative experience, and the Arcane Master will be primarily focused around the Force and Dark Side. It is unlikely that participants will be able to switch groups after choosing their path, so pick wisely. Your choices throughout the event will be very important.

Korriban was a hellscape for people who enjoyed being surrounded by the Dark Side - it was worse for people who didn't exactly subscribe to the Sith mentality. Crix hadn't been on the planet for very long, having been brought in on a prisoner transport only a couple of days ago from a different prison facility. At first he had probably been brought here as a way for budding members of the ISB or whatever they were called to practice on because he'd been stubborn during his captivity. But now?

Now "Killiks" were involved.

What the kark a Killik was, Crix had only vague rumours. They said they were giant bugs but he wasn't sure what that actually meant. Were they giant from regular bugs point of view or were they giant from, like, humanoid scale? He had a feeling it was the latter but he could hope, right? As a prisoner of the Sith Empire, Crix as deemed as expendable and one of the Sith needed people who they might sacrifice for a "Joining" - whatever the hell that was. Again, from rumours, it sounded like mind control and that tracked.

Stood in the entrance hall, Crix was dressed in the bright uniform of the prison he had been held in for some time at this point. A shock collar around his neck to keep him in line and many Sith watching him and other prisoners as they were directed to stand with Master Trelain's group. The Academy Warden was heading up an investigation but the investigative side of things didn't really call to Crix - he'd rather have gone with Letous - but as a prisoner his opinion was not asked for.

As he moved with the rest of the group, he sighed a little bit and scratched at one of his horns as one of the enforcement officers walked down the line of prisoners. Each of them was being handed something and Crix was rather surprised to find himself being handed a vibroknife... and nothing else. The part that was surprising was that they'd bothered to give him even a knife at all. Humming a little bit, he tested the knife while it was deactivated, finding it rather poorly maintained but otherwise serviceable.

No armour, no lightsaber, a single vibroknife and a planetary environment that skewed so hard toward the Dark Side that he wouldn't be surprised if just breathing the air was tainting him.

The enforcement officer smiled cruelly at him.

"You'll serve until you die, Jedi."

Crix did his best to do what he'd done in the face of captivity so far - he forced a grin and made a stupid sarcastic remark.

"If I kill a Killik do I get real blue milk tonight?"

The smack to the side of the head was expected but it didn't make it hurt any less as he was slammed to the ground by the strength of it. Groaning a little bit, Crix pulled himself slowly back to his feet as the enforcement officer moved on. Rolling his neck a little bit, Crix let out a small sigh as he eyed Master Trelain and kept an eye on the newcomers.

"... I've got a bad feeling about this..."

Pedee had heard about the Killik invasion. First Ruusan, then Thyferra and Corellia. Pedee was eager for a fight against the menace, yet she was stationed around traditional Sith space after the victory at New Alderaan. But she wouldn't have to wait too long, as the Killik swarms had come to Korriban. Pedee was wondering how the bugs would stand up to her fists that are made of phrik.

At the gathering, the three Sith Masters spoke, making their cases. They were splitting off to do what they think is best. After they finished speaking, Pedee made what appeared to be the natural choice, she stepped forward to go with the First Blade. The obvious solution is obvious. Beat the Killiks down into submission and kill them all. The simplest solutions are often the best and as a droid that revels in killing, she would agree. Killiks are bugs and are still organics. Pedee likes killing organics. Pedee's databanks have some knowledge of the Killiks Just a mention, not a whole bunch of info on them. But they caused a whole lot of havoc in the short time after they invaded Ruusan.

That "Joining' thing is also a thing. Pedee could very well be fighting force-using Sith. Truth be told some of the acolytes are very annoying so she wouldn't be too fussed if she had to kill some. The Overseer has also been Joined, so he will have to die.

Pedee had her usual weapons on her person, her two Kyuzo petars, blaster pistol, and lightsaber stored on her chassis. She wouldn't have any weapons her her hands at the moment. But yes, Pedee is looking forward to jumping into the fray. If Pedee could smirk, she certain would.

Tiamat had gathered with the others, a sickening feeling sat in her stomach upon hearing that even the Sith were not immune to the insect invasion. Her ship, the Eternal’s Wrath was still being refitted for repairs from the Rusaan massacre, and she would be damned if she would let some bugs do to their world as they did to the people of Rusaan. Though being a sith garnered some level of paranoia, knowing that one of the Joined had infiltrated only meant there could be more and she agreed with Master Trelain in learning how far this infiltration went. It gave her a bad feeling knowing not even ISB had an upper hand on the situation.

She waited quietly, armored up, saber at her side, as well as a few other tools and code cylinders she carried in her side pouch to allow her access into terminals as needed. Her gaze quietly followed along the heads of those who were present, quickly seeing Pedee among them. She gave the droid a quick two-fingered salute when she caught her ocular receptors, admiring the droid’s enthusiasm to continue to serve among the Sith. Though with her fully armed, Tiamat couldn’t help but to smirk at what the droid was hoping to accomplish - a type of pride and admiration for the droid’s goal here.

Though there was another presence, one that quite surprised Tiamat as she turned subtly to catch a glimpse of one of the prisoners who were here to fight, or continue to serve their time under new circumstances. “As you should Crix Aran, this isn’t some picnic.” Tia said, hearing him mumble something about a bad feeling.

Hot sand and blinding skies. Stone like fire against the wind. Korriban breathed, dripped venom like a snake. Here, the Dark Side was alive. Black ink in the form of a flowing river, threatening to drown any who were not wise enough to embrace it. Sol was quiet as he melted into the temple's grand shadows, an adder awaiting his chance to bite.

He was here not because he cared for the Grand Overseer, or for his fellow Sith. No, they were competition. But to allow the Killik to have Korriban? Such a bitter acid to swallow, a poison upon the tongue. No, he was not being sentimental. Protecting Korriban was a chance at feeding that wild, ambitious flame within his chest. So often did it lick upon the edges of his skin, threatening to consume both body and spirit alike. It burned in his eyes like molten lava, and yet, even as it progressed like a disease, he would cater to it lovingly, an arsonist willing to burn away everything he was for more.

And so there he was. Quiet. Observant. His lightsaber fastened at his hip as he stood adorned in decorative clothing, a symbol of his greed. Whether these flaws would leave the man gasping in the dirt was yet to be seen.

A chilling vision pierces the frame of a Jedi prisoner with all the frost of a lethal blizzard. Why the Jedi would be allowed here was beyond him. Were the Sith truly so desperate that they would taint the stones of their academy's walls with the light? Meeting them on neutral ground was something entirely different. He could chatter with them there, like a serpent beneath a stone, all too eager to learn all that he could from their friendly conversations. But here, on Korriban, things were different. The Jedi did not deserve to stand among them. But even Sol could understand that they would make decent enough pawns on a battlefield.

So, he wasn't happy about the Jedi's presence, but for now, he would tolerate it. He understood it. At the very least, their corpses would serve as adequate projectiles against any killik the Sith might come across. Hardly civil, is it? Sol feels a sour amusement in that. To think, he had a persona to maintain. The polite, and... rather creepy young Sol. Not the type to stab you in the back. At least as far as anyone knew, for now.

The sound of a hand connecting with the side of that Zabrak's head was certainly a noticeable one. Sol doesn't move from where he stands, but his eyes still remain coldly upon Crix, entirely devoid of pity.

Finally, they flicker back up the grand stairway to peer toward the trio of masters that would be guiding them. Each had a different opinion on how the situation would be handled, but Sol found himself agreeing more with Master Letous. Brute force only went so far, and investigations took far too long. The force was superior guide in all aspects, and the darkness of Korriban was particularly mighty. The Kel Dor is the third to step up, but he doesn't join Pedee or Tiamat. Sol instead positions himself with those who would accompany Master Letous.

The force shall set me free.

Korriban was not her school, but when Master Letous sent out the call Llolith just happened to be in near space. So, of course, she hopped on a transport en route to the prestigious academy.

When the acolyte arrived, she did so to a growing crowd of persons standing before Master Letous and the two other triumvirate leaders, Master Trelain and Master Ericton. All three of them addressed the crowd, one after another, and each gave an explanation as to why they should be followed. Llolith ruled out Master Ericton almost immediately, leaving her to choose between the two women.

Master Trelain's call for an investigation seemed like a good course of action, but she found Master Letous' talk of "the balance of the Force nexus" too intriguing to pass up. So, as people began to shuffle their way toward one Master or another, Llolith slipped her way over to stand in her general vicinity. Like the majority of the acolytes present, she was dressed in simple robes. Her two sabers were clipped onto her belt underneath the folds of the black fabric, and for her own sake, a pair of sunglasses rested on the bridge of her nose.

Upon joining Master Letous' group, Llolith would immediately begin looking about to see who else would be coming along. Her gaze was entirely neutral, but she couldn't help but wonder, "Is anyone here already Joined?"

The thought gave her the heebie-jeebies.

A simple grey cloak, worn and withered from years of neglect, draped over her armor, hood pulled to keep her face concealed, the Sith Champion was not trying to keep her identity hidden, the traffic cones that adorned her head would make that hard in most parts of the Galaxy. But neither was she openly announcing who he was, nor her return from over two years of absence from the Sith capital. Of all things, it was a bug infestation that had drawn her back, if Altair or Vahl heard about it they'd probably joke it was the prospect of a good meal that had drawn her back.

Letting a smile pull at the corner of her lips at the thought of her friends, she let her eyes follow the horned prisoner being heralded after the academy warden. Intrigued by his presence, specially after overhearing the mention of Jedi jogged her memory enough to make her recognize who the prisoner was, she considered following after them. It seemed she had missed a great deal while she was off sorting out her head, how had she not heard that the Aran boy had been captured by the Sith?

She almost felt inclined to follow, just to satiate her curiosity about how he had ended up here, but she wasn't in the mood for intrigue. She really wanted to punch something, and keep on punching till it dropped dead. So she moved towards the group lead by Master Erection, err..Ericton. She wondered if she was going to regret that choice, it never boded well when you called your battle commander by the wrong name, sppecially such an innuendo laced one. But by then it was too late and she was already Erection chasing...Ericton, Ericton. ErI, not e. That was the chant in her head as she followed after the First blade.

"I, not E, I, not E."

How could not even the academies be safe of that pest? It was truly hard to grasp...but perhaps this was what had become of the galaxy right now. Those horror bugs were everywhere and they weren't even afraid to strike in the midst of Sith territory.

Nova had received the call and hadn't thought twice about taking the fastest shuttle. Korriban wasn't her academy, yet if it had been hers she would had acted just like that, so what difference did it make? She was expecting to see some familiar faces...faces she had partied with not long ago, but that was over now. She was loyal to her kind and she would not stay behind and watch while shit was going down like that.

After an admittedly rough landing she had immediately jogged into the direction of the larger crowd inside the halls, fortunately still in time to listen to what the masters explained, and while she listened to the Triumvirate she was suddenly spotting a very familiar short silhouette. Could that be? How had she gotten here so fast anyway?

As the group began to split, there was no doubt Nova would join the group around Master Leotus. After all, this whole planet was thriving on dark power and still there seemed to be something off. The nexus was disrupted and it made sense to investigate that. Perhaps the Killiks even had something to do with the Force themselves...

She wasn't surpised to see Llolith join the same group, and she was indeed more than happy to see a familiar face. "This can't be coincidence" she muttered amusedly while slightly shaking her head. "Are you tired of your life as well? I don't believe this will be the usual mission...". She was grinning, but Llolith might notice that she was overplaying her nervousity.

Altair was already on his way back to Sith space when news broke out about an attack on Korriban. He had his platoon of IAF soldiers with him, and they rerouted directly towards the desert planet. He had been aggressively punching away in the cargo bay of the transport ship to train and take his mind off the encounter with Clove back on that refueling station. Of all the emotions he always felt for her, right now he felt nothing but anger. As soon as word arrived about Korriban, he showered and donned his trademark armor, placing the horned helmet back on his head.

The ship pierced through the atmosphere and landed near the academy. The ramp lowered and the platoon of IAF soldiers marched out, all armed and ready to go. As usual, Altair brought up the back, striding down in his armor. In the absence of his wan-shen, he carried a phrik spear on his back, matukai gloves on both arms.

“We join the First Blade,” Altair’s voice boomed out to his men, “This enemy is unlike anything you’ve faced,” He called out to them as he walked down the ramp and addressed them all, “They will show no mercy because they are here for one reason and one reason only - to destroy. They do not yield just from losing a limb, you must go for their heads and complete annihilation. They will attempt to penetrate your mind, but you must resist - fall back on the training you had at the academy,” The tiefling looked across them all, “And if you see a fellow brother act strange or fall to the influence of the Killik…you will level your blaster and end them, for they would wish it. And you will do the same to me,"There was a grim silence that hung between them all for a moment, This won’t be easy and this ain’t for the faint of heart. But that’s why you all are here - because you are among the best,” That was when they all held their heads up high, “Together we will fight them till our last breath, because this is our home and ain’t no fucking bugs gonna take it. So are you with me?!

The grimness was replaced with shouts and cheers of support, a rallying cry as they all mentally prepared for the direct confrontation. Altair knew which path he would take even if it killed him. He was built for the front lines, and that’s where he would always be.

With that, he strode ahead of his platoon, the soldiers falling into march behind him. It didn’t take them long to catch up to the First Blade. Altair took a quick glance at others gathered there, giving a nod to Pedee and… his visor lingered on Ashla for a few moments, genuinely shocked to see her. However, he didn’t react outright, tilting his helmet back forward as they kept moving forward.

Altair arrives with a platoon of IAF soldiers and joins First Blade

"Hate it here. Hate Killiks," the Wrean quietly grumbled to himself, his air-filtering mask reducing it to unintelligible nonsense without the speaker or ear-commlink on. Garbed up in what was essentially a lightweight Wrean-made bodysuit that helped keep him cool and hydrated in the cursed hellhole that was the average wasteland/desert. Personal armor with a lightweight robe and pants tied slip-fashion into his boots were worn overtop. His knife and spear were with him along with a notebook with included pen and general utility belt utilities, water, snacks, and a small medkit. There was also a generic lightsaber he'd been given from the armory.

Kanaloa wasn't actually too miserable owing to the suit and his relative stillness, nor did he hate Korriban. Mostly it was the sand that for some reason kept flying into his face no matter what direction he turned in and, also, how bright the sun was. Really he was just complaining because of how tense he was. Kane leaned against his spear in an attempt at calm that was completely ruined by how much he was shifting his weight from foot to foot and generally fidgeting about. From what he'd heard, the overall situation could be summed up as not fucking great. Squinting spitefully at the sand, he remembered he brought tinted goggles and arranged them to cover his eyes.

Kane listened to the explanations with a sense of nervous energy and briefly weighed his options. He picked the group that he felt would rely on following the flow and instinct toward answers; Master Lettuce- uh, Leet-oos? Lat- how in the name of Palpatine's saggy right- Letous, that was it.

The magic one. Kane joined the magic nexus group. Maybe his attunement to the Great Current- as Wrean shamans called a talent for magic stuff- would help somehow. Shuffling over, he re-engaged his spear-leaning position and promptly resumed fidgeting, quickly bouncing his foot in place atop the red sand. He felt mildly sick, was that normal? The young Sith distracted himself by checking out what the rest of the groups looked like and quickly noticed most of his own had their eyes covered. Weird coincidence, but not helpful.

Then a broad fellow in horned armor marched steadfastly from a ship and gave a rousing speech to his soldiers. Oh shit that was Altair, right? And he had a spear! Kanaloa felt validated in his weaponry decisions if a reputable Sith was using one, and honestly, the speech kind of made him feel better.

Lucas had been on Taris for a handful of weeks since his lesson with Varyn on Dromuund Kass. During that time, he had learned to channel his emotions into anchor points, enabling him to command the Dark Side and twist the Force to his will. He had built upon the foundations of lightsaber combat which Varyn had taught him. He had learned the other Acolytes couldn't be trusted, each of them were vying for the attentions of Overseers, Crusaders, and in some cases Sith Masters. This meant that betrayal was expected and murder, while discouraged, was still on the menu. And finally, speaking of menus, the food at the Taris Academy was actually quite good!

Upon his arrival at the Academy, Lucas had been assigned a standard Sith Acolyte uniform and a set of armor he was expected to don during dueling practices and if he went on missions. The armor set him apart from the Sith and identified him as a lowly Acolyte and not a fully fledged member of their Order, at least not yet. Alongside this set of armor, Lucas was assigned a single simple Lightsaber with a red kyber crystal. It was in this armor, his WESTAR-55 Blaster Pistol on his left hip, the hilt of his lightsaber on his right hip, and his chainsword strapped to his back was all that Lucas arrived on Korriban with.

The distress call had been sent out and Taris responded, flooding the ancient Academy grounds of Korriban with countless Acolytes of various skill levels and experience. There were rousing speeches of this being a crucible to greatness, that this battle would forge them into the greatest Sith the galaxy had ever seen. It was all bullshit, Lucas understood what the Overseers had really told them, they were expendable, every last one of them. They'd all been sent to protect Korriban, they were expected fall into assigned groups and reinforce pre-determined operations. They would obey, they would fight, and if need be they would die at the command of their Sith Overseers.

Lucas' hands began to tremble as the Acolytes were filed into the massive archways of the Korriban Academy, their Sith Overseers callously began to assemble five man teams and assign them to theaters of war. Lucas' team was led by an experienced Kaleesh Acolyte, then there was a pale human woman, and two twilek siblings making up the other three members of the team. The Acolyte team leaders were given a commlink that was then patched into their commander's communications network.

Lucas felt his body begin to tremble as primal fear washed over him, this wasn't what he imagined being a Sith would be like at all. He felt like he was about to retch but the pale human female beat him to it and vomited all over the front of her robes, causing cries of disgust to echo from the rest of the team, except for the Kaleesh. He didn't react as the woman's sick splashed onto his boots, instead he seemed to relax a little bit, he seemed relieved suddenly.

"We're to serve under Lieutenant Din." He stated flatly. "That means we might have a kriffing chance at surviving this." He explained. "Fireteam Thesh, fall in and follow me." He barked before heading towards the platoon of IAF soldiers Lieutenant Din had led into the gathering.

An additional two teams of Acolytes fell in alongside Fireteam Thesh and and the Sith Overseer that would present them to their Commanding Officer. The fireteams marched towards the Tiefling officer to be presented and then fall into position within his ranks. This was done by kneeling before the imposing figure of the Tiefling before rising to their feet and awaiting whatever his instructions might be.

"That means we might have a kriffing chance at surviving this." The words of the Kaleesh echoed in Lucas' mind has he followed whatever directive were given to him. "I should have stayed on Vandyne."

@Sreeya @Phoenix

Aadya had been far from Korriban when the call from Master Letous had gone out. It had been some time since she had been to an academy and even then Aadya tended to stick to Dromund Kaas. The weather of Korriban was never really her thing. Too dusty, too dry. And the people that lived there tended to be just like the weather.

Despite her feelings for the world itself, the call wasn't something she was just going to ignore. The academies had their handful of Champions and higher, but they were mostly comprised of acolytes. They were going to need the help. Plus, it had been too long since she had seen real combat. Her men were getting restless and so was she, at least a little.

Her ship dropped down and landed near the Academy with little fanfare. Aadya exited down the ramp wearing her usual armor and with both of her lightsabers hanging from her waist; a platoon of her soldiers followed lockstep behind her.

She listened intently and considered what each of the Triumvirate had to say, but it was evident very quickly which one of them she was going to join. Before she spoke up, though, her attention was drawn to the familiar voice of Altair and she couldn't help but crack a smile beneath her mask and toss him a glance. Always such a showman.

Aadya would give her men no speeches or invigorating narration. They knew the gravity of the task they would be undertaking, she had made sure of that before they even dared step foot off of her ship. Her soldiers would have grown accustomed to this hard shift in Aadya's demeanor, it happened any time they entered a true battle. And of all the battles they'd ever faced, this one would be the most dangerous.

To the First Blade, was all Aadya would say as she motioned to her men.

It was refreshing, being away from the family farm. It didn't mean that Kasim wasn't a little homesick, but Korriban was very different from Bandomeer, and with a change in scenery came a new opportunity.

At least that's what Kasim was telling himself.

He'd reluctantly left Bandomeer, at an older age than most Dins did, and followed in his siblings' footsteps by going to Korriban to join the Sith Empire. He'd literally just arrived- he hadn't even been given the orientation speech yet- but apparently not being on Korriban recently made one particularly desirable for whatever mission they were pulling together at the moment. Kasim had been told in no uncertain terms to go make himself useful. The question was, how?

It seemed that there were three different loose groups forming. The unmistakable form of his older brother stood out amongst a formidable group of Sith and soldiers; not only would Kasim feel unhelpful, Altair would probably overshadow him anyways. Group #2 stuck out like a sore thumb, with a Zabrak who looked very out of place, a lethal droid of some sort, and a red-haired woman who Kasim couldn't tell if he felt safe around or not.

That left Group #3. Not for the first time, Kasim marveled at the diversity of the Sith Empire; the human in the group was in the minority, it seemed. A formidable-looking Kel Dor was part of the group. He didn't know what species had eight eyes, but there one was; and he'd only met a Wrean once or twice. Time to add a Tiefling to the mix.

After briefly contemplating, What Would Altair Do?, Kasim chose Confidence and strolled across to Group #3. "I don't think it'll be a normal mission, either" he said, catching the end of Nova's sentence and winking at her, having judged it as good of time as any to introduce himself. "My name's Kasim, and you are?" Hopefully neither Altair nor Amira had mentioned him; although Tieflings were rare, his unique coloration might cause them to overlook his status as one of their younger siblings.

Ancestral homeworld of the Sith, Korriban was a hellscape to just about all those who visited it - and Sarella had hoped she would never join the ranks of those who did. It was a place corrupted and twisted within the Force, and it was the home of an enemy she had fought since joining the Jedi. And yet, there she was - stepping down the ramp of her shuttle, marching towards the masses of defenders gathered outside the Sith Academy.

The Fallanassi had been far off in the Outer Rim during the attacks on Ruusan and the ISC - and thus had been in no position to render aid during either. All the same, she had seen the footage of the crisis like everyone else - and she understood acutely the threat that the Swarm posed to them all. Regardless of her strong feelings about the Empire and Sith, Sarella knew that there would be dire consequences - countless innocent lives lost - if the planet fell to the Kilik Swarm. It was the deciding factor to bring her shuttle to Korriban without a second thought - intercepting the distress beacon on her journey back to Yavin.

It didn’t take her long to reach the rest of the group - listening intently as the trio of Sith Masters explained their individual strategies. The Fallanassi was dressed in simple combat attire - complete with a utility belt fastened to her waist where the hilt of a lightsaber was clipped. Her silver-gold hair was styled out of her face - tied back into a braided ponytail that brushed to the middle of her back.

As she listened, Sarella couldn’t help the way her gaze lingered on the group of the First Blade. She clearly recognized the armored visage of Altair - that horned helmet infamous amongst the Jedi and Resistance for his multitude of military victories. Her gaze flicked towards Aadya for much the same reason, and then promptly wandered its way towards one of the prisoners being dragged to the frontlines. Her lips immediately turned downward in response - recognizing the Zabrak for the Jedi that he was, having been captured by the Sith months ago. Despite her every inclination, Sarella knew there was nothing she could do for him in that moment - perhaps before this was all over, but not now - and merely offered the Jedi a sympathetic smile and tilt of her head.

There was a choice to be made - and Sarella already felt the draw towards Master Lettuce–Letous. Her own connection to the White Current and Consular background meant she was far more attuned with the Force and its nexuses, and she hoped her abilities would be best utilized there. Without a word, Sarella gravitated towards the third group. A tense breath was exhaled through her nostrils as she walked, drawing upon hours to meditation to find serenity in the face of what was to come.

Sarella arrives, spots some people. Decides to go with Group Three Lettuce-Squad.

Upon hearing a familiar voice, Llolith would turn and give @Nova Trent a friendly smile. "I happened to be in the area," she would reply light-heartedly. Llolith was glad to see her here; a familiar face would help keep her nerves down. So far she felt like she was doing a pretty good job hiding them, but who knew how things would pan out?

"But- yeah. This is..." Weird as fuck? Anxiety-inducing? Odd? All three applied, and so would any other word that described the general feeling of suspense thickening in the air. "...interesting."

The lull in the conversation was filled by three others coming to join Team Lettuce. Two acolytes she didn't recognize, and a... "A Jedi?" Llolith's eyes lingered on the blonde woman for several moments, intrigued. "She's cute." The Jedi had a soft, almost somber visage and velvety chestnut eyes. If @Sarella happened to notice the acolyte staring though, the spider-eyed girl would not-so-subtly give the woman a flirty up-and-down, then turn her attention back to Nova and the other Sith.

"Llolith." @Kasim Din's question wasn't targeted directly at her, but it was as good as a segway into introducing herself to him and the other acolyte as any. Plus, he'd walked into her and Nova's conversation anyway. "And you two?" Llolith asked of @Sol Kenuk and the masked acolyte. "I like your get-up, by the way. Stylish," she added toward @Kanaloa Tau.

It was truly good to see the blonde acolyte, however Nova had to caution herself not to think back to carefree parties they used to have. "Interesting...what a great and fitting description" she playfully teased her spider friend, however keeping an eye on the unknown Sith master in case he wanted to start leading their group. (@lizziie)

A few more were joining their group and seeing it grow offered at least relief to some extent. It looked like they were not just acolytes, which was probably a good thing, however as a Jedi moved to join their lettuce group her eyes widened for a second, before she critically narrowed them.

"Is that-" she started whispering, so that only Llolith could hear, but she stopped mid-sentence as she noticed that her friend was checking the Jedi out. With a playful, soft jab in the ribs she tried to catch her attention. "Stay focused" she teased as she still raised a brow at her, however she immediately lost her own focus as another acolyte joined their group.

Nova immediately noticed that he was a Tiefling and that he was somewhat similar to Altair. Her thoughts immediately flicked back to that lap dance on the boat, but before she could got carried away, she directed her attention onto the admittedly attractive stranger. "Hi...I'm Nova" she introduced herself with a flirtatious smile, quite impressed at how confidently he had joined the conversation. (@SlagathorTheUnknown) She immediately noticed his gauntless and that he was apparently nkt even an acolyte from the academy, but before she could ask, Llolith was seemingly involving yet another one in their conversation and her curious gaze followed her to the next stranger (@Mr. Teatime)

As the groups started to solidify, Aadya would make her way over towards Altair. It was impressive, the man that he'd become. She remembered when they had first met and what a fresh acolyte he'd been at the time. She remembered how not too long ago he had served under her and now, hell, the Tiefling commanded his own platoons of Sith soldiers.

She was proud of him, more than he'd ever know, and she wanted to tell him. But now was not the time. Should they both survive this ordeal, then perhaps she would tell him then. In lieu of showering Altair with praise, Aadya would simply approach him with a nod of her head. God, how she wanted to hug him instead.

It's good to see you, Altair. She said, looking up at the looming form of the Tiefling clad in his intimidating armor. Well, intimidating to others perhaps. Aadya found herself more turned on than scared, though, maybe it was a bit of six to one half dozen of the other. I've missed you.

She wondered how he would respond, unsure of all of the things that may have changed. He was a leader of men now and Sith didn't like to show anything that could be perceived as weakness. Of course, Aadya cared little about perceptions. Her men knew the kind of soldier she was, the kind of ruthless and efficient killer that wreaked havoc on the battlefield.

Her eyes sweeping the others that had gathered, Aadya didn't recognize many. The ones she did recognize did offer her a little comfort, though. Ashla and Tia, two Sith she knew didn't fuck around. Hopefully the acolytes here would do more than just provide fodder and food for the killik hordes that undoubtedly laid in wait.

Just like old times, eh?

Ashla turned on hearing a familiar voice, and turned in time to catch most of his speech, the more she heard the more she felt something she could very honestly say that she hadn't had much opportunity to feel before. Neither for herself, nor for others. Pride, simple, heart-warming pride. She wanted to just run over and give him a hug, but she restrained herself as she didn't want to ruin his reputation with his soldiers. Either way, she was beaten to the punch by Aadya. Another friend, another reason to smile. On instinct she started scanning the gathering, convinced that Vahl's tiny form was also there somewhere. But she couldn't spot her, feeling a mixture of sadness at a missed opportunity for another reunion, and relief that she wasn't about to get caught up in this clusterfuck.

Giving Aadya and Altair a few moments to catch up, she would finally walk over, using up almost all her restraint to not just run over. "Aadya," she managed to speak through the dumb grin that was spread across her face as she pulled back her hood, and turning to Altair to greet him, "Altair, how've you two..." She stopped, only then taking in how much Altair had changed. In her giddiness at seeing him and Aadya she had missed the obvious changes in her friend. It wasn't just the armor, he was bigger, maybe not a great deal taller, but definitely much more solid. And that armor, it just fit him, not just physically, but the very vibes it gave. Like it was created just to be used by him. Which, given the wardrobe limitations of the tieflings, it probably was.

"Holy fuck!" She exclaimed, forgetting everything about not wanting to embarrass him in front of his troops and going into full on fawning mode, pulling him into a hug and then begining to circle around him to inspect the armor from all angles once she pulled out of the hug. "Look at you! You look so cool!"

She stood behind him and to the side, just grinning and openly gaping, and turned to the nearest trooper, an even taller green-skinned gym-bro. "He looks really cool, right? I bet you wish you looked that impressive, right?"

It was still hard to digest, this business with an insectoid race seemingly hell bent on assimilating every living creature in the galaxy. Bending them all to their collective will within their Hive Mind. Even the thought of it sent shivers down the young Acoylte’s spine. Wodan had been far from previous hot spots of Killik activity, the military unit he was assigned to at the time working in the far North West of the Galaxy.

When Master Letous’ call about the ‘assault/attack’ upon Korriban had reached the Firrerrian his previous assignment had just finished, allowing him to rush back to the planet, his school, as soon as possible. The flight had been harrowing, how many of his friends and colleagues at the school had been killed or worse assimilated into the Kilik hive mind? He had tried a number of contacts on his Holo but none seemed to get through, he hoped it was just an enforced radio silence by the Triumvirate, but his heart sunk deeper with each unanswered call.

Having left his station with extreme haste, the Acolyte was less equipped than usual, but perhaps was more fitting the ‘Sith’ look many of his contemporaries expected of a fellow member of their order. Senshi Armour he had grabbed from the orbiting Star Destroyers (searching all who came and went to the surface), his trusted and unique spear and a single red lightsaber hanging from his hip.

Stepping into the assembly area before the three Masters, he had heard their speeches through holo and was immediately torn. Each of the three made good points about how best to defeat their foe, his immediate reaction was to head towards the First Blade, the Acolyte had been trying his hardest to refine his combat prowess and become an active and reliable resource to the Empire. Though after Onderon he wasn’t sure his hardest was going to be good enough, plus Altair and his soldiers were there, he doubted he could offer anything extra to the group that the Tiefling and his men did not cover.

The group under Master Letous strongly interested him and if it wasn’t a life or death, fate of the planet situation. He would have enjoyed spending some time looking further into the Dark Side of The Force. But it was one of those situations and Wodan had to think about what would be the best use of his ‘limited’ set of abilities.

He stepped up towards the group surrounding Master Trelain; it was smaller than the rest, but it made sense considering what the Master had planned. Numbers if anything would be against them.

Wodan has happily joined Group 2 as its meat shield

He could taste blood in his mouth and he wasn't sure if it was from the hit to the face, the fall or from the presence of quite so many Dark Side users on such a Dark Side saturated planet. It took him a second to realize that it was none of the above - he had bittin the side of his cheek instinctively when he heard her voice. Hearing her voice still brought things to mind and it was still a confusing mixture of good and bad and somewhere in between.

Turning to look at her, he took in the sight for a second before letting out a slow breath and looking over at the others assembling. He recognized some of them from the holonet, others from reports of the war and some, well, some he remembered because they'd beaten him to land him in this position in the first place. Spotting the figure of Altair Din was pretty easy and even a glance forced Crix to take a second to collect himself as a wave of bitterness and anger made him feel a rise of bile in the back of his throat.

Korriban was bad, it made his negative emotions easier to reach but he'd be lying if he said he hadn't been stewing on his loss even if he could admit that he had been beaten by someone better than him.

Still, the bitterness and anger were never far away these days.

He turned back to Tiamat, his eye catching sight of a lone Jedi who looked his way before doing his best to put them out of his mind. Escape while surrounded by the might of the Sith Empire was a fool's hope and he wasn't going to let that seed take hold.

"No, but until I find out what a Killik is, I'm not sure how grave I need to be."
he responded before adding, "Is it true that they can brainwash even Force Sensitives?"

Dying on this dustball was something he'd thought about and something he had thought would be the biggest challenge to overcome. But brainwashing? Being forced to become something that he wasn't was worse for him. There were a lot of things that Crix would do to avoid dying but there were lines - he couldn't say with certainty that those same lines existed in the face of having who he was as a person suppressed by some hivemind.

A thrill of fear ran through him at the very thought of it and the ghost of a sound, a heartbeat monitor, rang through his mind as he gripped the knife tighter and tighter.

Going for group two, group Treelanes, with his BFF Tia - Crix is, understandably, thrilled
