Outer Rim Territories, Phaeda

Myr Khandros stood silently in a small clearing deep in the woods on the planet of Phaeda. Before him roared a bonfire, perhaps a bit too large for the size of the clearing, but maybe that was the point. Wrapped in a dark cloak, hood drawn up to the sinister horns of his helmet of Ren, the shining metal reflecting the flickering light of the roaring bonfire. He held his vibroglaive tight against his robed form.

As the gathering cultists arrived one by one, Myr would say nothing. Instead he remained still, deep in meditation over the dancing flames. For nearly a century, the Sith Eternal had remained shrouded in secrecy, biding its time and growing in power. For now it was best that this secrecy remain, yet for many within the cult this inaction wore at them, Myr among them.

The young and adventurous legionnaire craved action, real action that duels with his fellow legionnaires or the occasional attack on a pirate compound couldn't satisfy. He ached for the thrill of combat, to immerse himself in the dark side on the field of battle, free from the restraint that so many of the Sith Eternal had to practice. So if the name of the Sith Eternal was not yet ready to be revealed to the galaxy, then perhaps an old name would serve their purpose for a time.

Roman had felt similarly to others, the inaction that the secrecy of the cult required was growing thin on his patience. He was neither a scholar nor a priest, he did not simply wish to remain in the shadows and continue studies focused on the dark side without an option to further the cults' primary agenda: Forging a new galaxy with the eradication and purging of stagnant societies. He was ambitious, hungry, and often times bloodthirsty; he longed for the thrill of combat and if the Sith Eternal was forced to inaction, then perhaps in the meantime, he too would bear an old name.

The Legionnaire was dressed in the Sentinel, the ebony armor maintained his personna a mystery under the durasteel skull visage. The helmet itself freshly polished along with the remainder of the combat suit, twinkling with reflections of the bonfire next to them.
Roman's armored form approached, nodding towards the other cultists' gathered as he waited for the time being. His weapon of choice was an obsidian longsword, matching the darkened affinity of his armor and strapped to his back.

For years Vaylin had done everything within her power to further the Eternal cause, staying hidden, biding her time, making meticulously planned plans which were efficiently executed for gains that were often negligible. But through it all was the certainty that they were not ready to reveal themselves, that the pain of the last Sith incursion was till fresh enough in the Galaxy for any sign of their continued existence might unite everyone against them. They would be crushed like an insignificant ant. Their only means of survival lying in secrecy, in maintaining the veil of shadow that surrounded them till they were ready to reveal themselves.

But news had started to trickle in that the actions of a foolhardy few had started putting their very existence at risk, threatened to reveal their face to the Galaxy when they needed anything but. So despite her every attempt to stay hidden for all these years, she was about to step out into the open and do what she had vowed never to. She would be an agent of chaos. But not under the guise of a Guardian of the Eternal. No, the mask she wore today was a different one. Today she would be a Knight of Ren, and today she would shed blood and break bones in the name of Ren. They would burn so brightly that the Jedi, or any other threat, would be blind to the sparks that had threatened to burn down everything they had worked for.

Noticing the two who had arrived before her, one of them apparently partly responsible for some of the actions that had threatened their anonymity, she scowled behind her mask as she came to a stop before them. They carried more mundane weapons, much like the vibro-staff she herself carried. Besides the helmet and the staff, her disguise was completed by the thick dark clothing she wore to disguise her form and gender, and the pair of vribro-bayonet strapped to her thighs.

"Is this it?" She asked the Devaronian, only acknowledging the other man with a glance. She might not like his actions, but his presence here would serve another purpose. If they were to wave the flag of the Ren for the Galaxy to see, then his presence might mask his other actions. That was the only reason she had agreed to work with him today, otherwise she would have simply flown by and blasted him back to seven hells.

Cal remained quiet as the others—one-by-one—began to materialize out of the shadows stretching from the great fire like wraiths. The flames danced in his scarlet eyes, which cut across the clearing, briefly lingering on each of the gathered. If he closed his eyes and focused, he could sense the Shadow in them all, in some stronger than others. But he couldn't stay focused like that for long. Inevitably, anger coiled within his belly and he was forced to surface from the Shadow. He reminded himself what Myr had said some time ago, when he had announced this gathering.

The Knights of Ren must be above the squabbling of the Old Sith, lest they suffer the ancient cult's fate. Still, Cal had no love for some of those assembled. He existed—was trained—to serve the Ren. To advance the Shadow across the galaxy, to fight its battles, and preserve its tools, and to eat whatever it sent him. The "order" some of them sought to impose on the galaxy was revolting to Cal. The Shadow thrived in chaos. In anarchy. And so chaos and anarchy were what the Knights of Ren, if they were to succeed in their mandate, had to bring.

His silence was rewarded. The newcomer, Vaylin, had not seen him among the gathered. He returned to himself in time to hear her address Myr and slid his gaze across hers. "No," he said simply, though his voice was harsh and scratchy, a product of the voice modulator in his mask. He held her eyes for a moment and then released it, and her, to go about her way. He saw no need to say anything more until the others arrived. And even then, he doubted he'd say much. @Arclight @Bran @Darasuum @Faded @Wit @Logan

Kholvar had never been to Phaeda, but he had to say he had an appreciation for it so far. He stalked through the woods, his normally snow-white fur concealed beneath black clothing and his face hidden behind the mask of his helmet.

Moreso than most, Kholvar was a natural predator - an apex monster that sat firmly at the top of the food chain regardless of where he was and who he was surrounded by. Despite being built like a brick shit house he was surprisingly light on his feet, a trait that served him well as he approached the gathering.

The true depth of meaning of what the Knights of Ren represented was somewhat lost of Kholvar. The others gathered here likely were much more experienced with the dark machinations of the Sith Eternal, or at least he would hope so. Melkor had only given Kholvar a taste of what the darkside was capable of, but with that taste he'd put an unending hunger inside the young Trianii. Kholvar needed more, he craved it, he'd kill for it. That's what the Knights of Ren could offer him, so that is why he was here.

Like the others, Kholvar carried nothing but simple weapons: a vibrosword across his back, made for hacking limbs, brutal and efficient like he was, as well as a vibro-bayonet tucked out of sight. He nodded silently towards Myr before taking up a position leaning against a tree, the light from the bonfire flickering menacingly off the wicked visage of his helmet.

It was cold, the helmet in his hands. Kai did not much care for masks or helmets. The only time he wore them in the past was when he was commiting some kind of crime though even half the time he did not even bother. But now he was wearing a helmet because that was a tradition of the Knights of Ren. He shrugged at the helmet. May as well give it a try. Of course he had already said he was doing that and had come this far already.

Donning the helmet he sealed it over his morbid looking face. His hands were not the normal skeletal like gloves he normally wore. Instead they were fairly plain and black. As he approached the fireplace he saw those that had already arrived. He leaped up to a tree at the edge of the clearing and stood with the large bonfire. Two swords stuck out over either shoulder though were common vibro-swords and not sith blades.

This whole thing was interesting but Kai had his doubts. So far the Grysk had just lived his life like an underworld entrepenuer with a couple extra tricks up his sleeve and an interest occult. The Sith were dead and gone. The Jedi were different than they had been. Reviving old traditions without a purpose made the man hesitant. But there were certain things that could be done when working in a more overt fashion.

Rumors of supicions had always been present. If you did not drink all your blue milk before bed then the Knights of Ren would come to snatch you up. Or something along those lines. Kai could tell that some of the people present were just blood-lusting psychos. Wild dogs had their place but it was just a matter of whether or not the Grysk liked them at that point then. The Ren was something that Kai had researched in the sparse time he had the chance to during his training. Now, later in life he wondered if the people here actually had genuine interest or just saw it as a means to mess around.

Still too early to judge. Give them the benefit of the doubt Kai. If not. You can kill them later. Eh. Maybe that's too much work. These guys look tough. He shrugged and dropped from the branch to finish the rest of his approach. He stopped a bit away still but close enough to feel the waves of heat emanating from the fire. Pulling out a tin of cigaras, he stuffed a tip into the breathing slats of his mask and lit it up. Smoke pooled out of his helmet.

On the outskirts of the clearing, nestled up within the foliage of one of the trees, far from the reach of the fire's light, lounged a darkly clad figure. A slight dark red glow emanating from within the dark silhoette. Trinity had been there longer than she'd care to admit, having arrived earlier than most of the group she decided to observe rather than make herself known. Even though she sensed no immediate danger from the other members of this meeting, her naturally cautious nature took control. While lying in wait for the last of the group to arrive, she toyed with the sharpened edge of her vibroblade. Having taken the suit glove off her left hand, she pressed the tip to the skin of her naked thumb until it reached its breaking point. Her eyes stared at the slow trickle of blood like those curious hound. This obsession would be interrupted every now and then by the arrival of a fellow cultist who she would analyse from head to toe, paying close attention to their composure, speech and the weapon they chose to wield.

The first figure whom underwent such analysis was the devaronian of the hour, Myr Khandros. The conductor that had orchestrated this fine ensemble of misfits and broken men. Calm and composed in his meditation, Trinity could only ponder as to his true intentions. Nevertheless his spear and bronze mask commanded a sort of fearful respect, or so she would assume, to her it just looked like some tacky tribal gear. The next to arrive was heavily clad in armor and hard to pinpoint, his walk however struck Trinity as familiar and after a few seconds she knew where to place it. Roman Antilles, the prideful cultist that she had seen at the ball on Serenno. His heavy steps and confident demeanor coupled with his bulky long sword spoke volumes about his arrogant nature. As someone who appreciated the subtler means of life, she tended to avoid characters such as him.

After the last of the figures had emerged from the darkness of the forest and Trinity had completed the last of her observations, she decided that she had waited long enough. With feline grace she jumped to the forest ground, landing softly on the balls of her padded feet. Breaking through the foliage and into the clearing she sheathed the vibroblade at her waist and took her place in the circle round the fire.

Jerex was the last one to sit near the bonfire, but the truth is, he had been around for quite some time, simply observing his fellow partners, much could be learnt from people by simply observing from the distance, many seemed serious and stoic, the quiet, silent type that put duty before anything else, a couple seemed anxious, having come here mainly to spill blood and kill, Jerex, on the other hand? Well, he of course was loyal to the Sith Eternal and would put the faction's goals before his own, but he would be lying if not being able to just go on a murdering spree to spread the influence of the dark side before didn't annoy him, thankfully, by coming here as a knight of Ren, he could do what he loved most without ruining their cover, unlike someone else that was part of the group.

Wearing his helmet of Ren alongside dark robes, Jeres was armed with nothing but a sacrificial dagger, a dagger clearly not made for actual combat, however, he didn't need weapons, the force was a weapon on its own, and a very powerful one, specially when used in its true, dark state, Jerex didn't need anything else. "You have gathered quite a group for this cause" The old legionnaire looked at the Devaronian, his voice deep and echoed because of his voice scrambler "This will be fun" Jerex added with a smile behind his helmet, starting to create small sparks of lightning with his hands, simply warming up, preparing himself for what they would do soon.

Myr Khandros continued to meditate on the flames, for now ignoring the newcomer's that spoke to him. His mind was focused on the force, delving into the darkside which rippled and danced with the flames in his mind's eye. The darkness enveloped him, wrapping around him with its cold embrace. The roaring bonfire flared, the heat of the flames reaching out to the gathered Knights of Ren. With his eyes locked on the bonfire, Myr urged the dancing embodiment of the darkside to grow hotter and higher, the flames reaching as tall as the treetops under his care.

And within the flames he could see it. What looked like a blade thrusting up out of the ground, the white hot core of a saber at the center of the inferno. He knew it wasn't real, but with his mind steeped in the darkside, Myr couldn't help but try to delve deeper. His mind pushed towards the center of the flame. And recoiled. The shock of the contact almost sent him reeling, the only thing that kept his knees from buckling was the solid grip he held on his glaive.

"Darkness." He began, recovering the strength in his legs as he reinforce himself with it, wrapping himself in the darkside to overcome the momentary weakness that had overcame him. "The Shadow." He continued, turning to gesture at the stretching figures that loomed behind each Knight of Ren, illuminated by the inferno. "It is only when the flames are burning high that the Shadow grows."

His eyes fell upon each Knight gathered in turn, his gaze hidden behind the devilish helmet he wore but nevertheless just as piercing. Many of the gathered Knights were truly cultists of the Sith Eternal, but a few of them weren't. True believer's in the Ren, Myr was skeptical of their ability to compare to the powers of the Sith Eternal. But their presence meant that the devaronian cultist and the Master of the Knights of Ren had to tread carefully with his words.

"Without light, there can be no Shadow." Releasing his hold on the fire with the force, it would suddenly flicker and gutter as it was no longer fed by the darkside. The clearing plunged into darkness, the hungry fire barely illuminating it "And without fire there can be no light." With a wave of his hand, the flame disappeared, the light in the clearing cutting out completely for a few moments. Slowly, the embers of the bonfire were once again stoked, Myr's hand moving in a circular motion over the ground in front of him as he once again urged the fire to grow.

As the fire resumed its roaring height, Myr turned his gaze to the gathered Knights. "As the fire returns, the Shadow grows in its reach once more." The shadows behind each Knight seemed to nod in agreement, whether through some trick of the force or a flickering of the flame. "For too long the fire in the galaxy has dwindled low, the Shadow stunted and weak from the lack of conflict." The sharpness of the word lingered before Myr finally addressed the assembled knights with a simple declaration of the groups intent.

"Let's go find something to burn."

At the circle of various Knights of Ren, Kai looked around scrutinized the other Knights a little closer. His mind reached out to get a general sense of the vibe that everybody was flowing with. Dope...dope...everybody here is *bleep*ed in the head too... his inner monologue sounded satisfied but then stopped and his eyes widened behind his helmet. Wait, did I just bleep out my own curses? He questioned his own reality for a split second then suddenly calmed down as he came to a more realistic probability Oh, wait no. It's just that new strand kickin in. *bleep* me I need to get some more of that.

The last of the people made their words towards one another or announcements of arrival. Any of these masked peeps women? I can't tell with onl-"DARKNESS" Kai's inner monologue stopped and his eyes focused on Myr again.

The Legionnaire remained silent for the rest of the time as Mye spoke, listening to his speech. After he was finished the man would step forward. "In other words..." Another short pause. <"...LET'S GET LIT!"> He spoke in Huttese but shouted it regardless of those who understood him. He was fine with them thinking it was some kind of catch phrase like what an alcoholic grandpa scientist might say in a popular adult cartoon show.

Then again, Kai also knew that he just seemed like a moron at that point with a lame joke like that. Yeessss, just as I planned. It fuels me existentially... I should make that into a hashtag later. He had read up on historic the sith with many of the people here. Their information influenced everything in what was the Sith Eternal cult. Palpatine, a known public figure also is known for seeming inept and then later found to be surprisingly powerful. The Grysk figured it was fine for other people to underestimate him as an idiot if they wanted. It will be funnier that way. Seriously though do any of these people want to get high?
