Location: Terminus Station
Time: [REDACTED]
Primary Objective: Social gather to improve morale and camaraderie
[This thread is open to all members of the Kjlljk Protectorate | Anyone else, please PM @TheCalmOne , @Mad Dog , @Rorren , and @Wayrider ]

Friendly Faces
Of all of Terminus Station's sectors, a single one tends to draw the most attention. This area is, of course, the lounge. In any ordinary day, one will see many different kinds of people from many different walks of life - misfits, businessmen, soldiers, politicians - you name it, they frequent it.

Today, however, most of the usual patrons would have been refused entrance. 'Why!' they cry, 'We pay to be here!'
Here's the reason:
The Protectorate is here.

The Kjlljk Protectorate is hosting a social gathering in order for its members to meet and converse with each other. Said members range from wealthy supporters of the Protectorate to high-ranking officials all the way down to the lowest Agent. The plan is for the members to meet each other and develop a sense of camaraderie in order to improve their capacities on the battlefield. Thus, the entire lounge area of Terminus Station (quite a large area, FYI) has been rented out by the Kjlljk Protectorate for an entire day.

"Don't drink too much today, you'll regret it tomorrow."

Being social was far from one of Kaern's strong suits. He wasn't shy by any means, but the typically emotionless bounty hunter wasn't a talker. In his decent gaining of infamy in certain systems as an efficient and bone-chilling killer, he had gained the name 'The Mute' for a reason. Kaern preferred to keep himself reserved, and rarely used words more than necessary to get his point across. Perhaps it was a hatred of the silver-tongued, whether it be politicians or street rats, that were womprats of people that always tried to weasel they're way out of situations they put thenselves in with overbearing aspirations and lies. Maybe it was his lack of care to develop much of any relationship with the people he typically had to associate himself with for the jobs he took. Maybe it was his upbringing in a sith temple that he had no connection with since he simply ignored the dogma of the other brainwashed padawans, Kaern only being there in order to kill his master and avenge his murdered mother. But Kaern let the thoughts fade as he glanced around the large room at vast, diverse cast of protectorate members as he let out a sigh.

Kae'Tl had ordered him here, and he almost found it funny how he had ended up as a cofounder to this project of a new startup order. The man thought he would be a simple mercenary until the day he died, either of old age or the various dangers of his job. But somehow he found himself winding up with another sith who had abandoned the order, for once someone she could connect with. Along with an ex-jedi, they had created the idea of finally having a third option for force users not desiring to be caught up in the teachings and constant struggle between light and dark, jedi and sith. For once Force-wielding children could choose any life they wanted under the protectorate, given they help the cause.

However, a new option of freedom for force sensitive people was just one of the protectorate's goals, as the need for funding as well as the need of manpower led the small startup group to expand their membership. They would be a service for protection of any planet that desired it, boosting their ranks with backers who desired the ability to be guarded by a group powerful in the force who were willing to get their hands dirty, as well as taking in others to be workers, soldiers, whatever the protectorate would need. Kaern himself was involved little in the expansionism of the Kjlljk Protectorate, as combat was his strong suit, and what he would advize the woman who headed the Protectorate on, as well as her being his lover, the same person was about the only one who could command him to attend this event and have him obey (with perhaps some resistance).

Though it may be a good idea for him to actually interact with more of their group, instead of being the faceless, unspeaking right-hand man to the official founder, Kaern almost preferred the role with it keeping things uncomplicated for him. It may be why the half-echani man donned his armor today instead of any suit and tie, covering his face that few had seen, and clearly scaring off conversation from many lower agents. It would take a bold one to approach the ominous figure as he stood in the corner of the bar, but one such backer of the Protectorate could feel his cold gaze on her through his visor. An Anri Astora, who provided many arms for the protectorate, and seemed to prick a bit of the bounty hunter's curiosity.

He always questioned the 'politician' kind, the business people that funded their group. He knew that they would have no care for the ideals of bringing in and fostering force-sensitive people of any age, or anyone looking for a job and purpose for that matter, but he still always questioned their motives. The man had no problem with the mentality of 'You scratch my back, I scratch yours', in fact much of the Protectorate's usage acted in such a way with their services. That didn't stop Kaern from being suspicious of alterior motives than simply seeing the Protectorate as an investment for their own security service, and he seemed to be silently engaging the owner of AstoraArms from across the room, almost egging her over, seeing whether or not she would avoid him.

Cade had arrived nearly as soon as they unlocked the doors to this joint, he had heard they were serving free alcohol to all members of The Kjlljk Protectorate, and he wasn't about to miss out on that. As the Squib sat fairly quiet on the end of the bar on his seventh glass of whiskey, the lounge finally began to fill up with the other members of the Protectorate.

Cade wasn't a hundred percent sure why he had joined the group, but he always knew there was safety, and booze, in numbers.

Stepping through the door to the lounge Jacien Icerider a 26 year old female Besalisk. Her Jedi master who had been both a Sith Lord and then a Jedi master had instilled some odd thoughts in her mind one was that The two sides of the force need not be completely separated. Amongst the Jedi she was known as Rainbow due to her use of five different colored light sabers sometimes all at the same time. Seeing Karen in the corner and knowing his preference for solitude Jacien simply nodded to him and headed to the bar. Jacien like the idea of having help start a multi sector police force but mostly she liked the idea of allowing force sensitive children to remain with their families. Unlike the Jedi or the Sith in the Protectorate the master would go to the student.

Anri Astora listened kindly to an agent while he regaled her with his story of a minor piracy crackdown, nodding and responding with feigned interest at the right moments. He had approached her near the beginning of the party, when there weren't as many people around, and thus Anri had initially welcomed the conversation. However, now that there were many more people in the vicinity, she was quickly growing weary of the overbearing agent.

When the man finally finished his current tale, she spoke up before he could launch into another story,
"Well, it was a pleasure to meet you, agent. I should get going." Smiling, she turned her back to the man, who seemed disappointed, and left. Initially, she headed towards the bar, but paused on the way there. Looking over to the corner of the room, Anri noticed something of an abnormality. A man, dressed in full combat armor, stood in the corner and looking intently towards her, almost daring her to talk to him.

She took the bait.

Smiling, Anri nodded in his direction and once again headed for the bar, stopping there to order a drink then swiveling to join the man in the corner. She knew who he was - Kaern, Kae'Ti's right hand man - but she hadn't had much of a chance to interact with him in any meaningful way. Hopefully that would change today. Nearing him, she took a quick sip from her drink, and initiated their conversation with a joke,

"You know, I could practically feel your eyes on my back even through your visor."

"Hmph. Perhaps your force sensitive?" He spoke in almost mock humor, his voice a hiss through the helmet as he seemed to stare at her unblinkingly frok behind the visor, it almost looking through her soul.

"So, Miss Astora, what is it that attracted your support to the Protectorate?" He questioned her then, waiting intently for the woman CEO's response.

Anri raised an eyebrow,
"I'm sure you've heard the regular 'for security' spiel that others like me talk about all the time so I'll spare you that."

From initial impressions, Kaern didn't seem to be the type of person who liked politicians or businessmen. He probably thought that all of them were selfish men and women who only looked out for themselves, manipulating the ones around them to suit their needs. He wasn't far off, but Anri liked to think of herself as an 'honest businesswoman'.

"For one thing: money. I'm not just spending credits for fun, you know. The Protectorate has done wonders to combat piracy in this area, not to mention that the entire organization is practically a huge advertisement for my businesses."

She wondered if he was surprised at her frankness,. Not many people of the 'upper class' decided to go ahead and tell people that they were in it for the money. They always had to come up with a moral reason: To protect the people, the stimulate the economy, etc.
Anri herself had used those same excuses a number of times in the past, but in the present she felt that being honest to the armored man was the best option.

"A very different reason than yours, I presume." Anri knew that many of the founding members of the Protectorate had sook asylum from the Jedi and Sith, wanting a place where they could practice without being indoctrinated into the two major faction.

"Were you opposed to us 'politicians' from getting involved?" Another joke, but with genuine curiosity involved in it.

"Perhaps different, but it doesn't matter. I think the Protectorate will make a good ally of yours. Everything needs a politician, as much as we all hate them. We need people of your kind, and I would hope more would be like you. I'll let Kae'Tl know that Astora Arms is reliable." Kaern nodded to her, as he seemed to lose most of his hostility, though his helmet still hissed his voice out chillingly.

Kae'Tl's entrance may have been missed if she hadn't been wearing a bright silver formal dress, so endowed with sequins that the light among the room seemed to dance off of her the reflection literally and figuratively brightening the room.

shopping

What was more shocking than seeing the proposed leader of The Kjlljk Protectorate wearing a formal dress, was the fact that she appeared to not be equipped with either of her Lightsabers, this was false of course but the appearance of it remained shocking.

Immediately a handful of people had gathered around her. Handshakes were shared drinks were offered and almost endless conversations had started. Kae'Tl's gaze continued to flash over to Kaern, as he was standing with one of the Protectorate's benefactors.

By this point There were several people in the lounge, many she'd never met before, or had only met a couple times.

Cade had finished his fifth glass of whiskey and was looking around, having decided to "Officially" join the party instead of just drinking at it.

Go figure thought Yong Ki I'm going to be late again he had ordered all of his clan members take the day off telling them of the only practice they were allowed to perform was the practice of making babies. He just could not stand it any longer so here he is in the gym going through each of his combat forms initially with just his hands at slow speed and then his hands at full speed them left-handed with the Vibro blade Ithen right-handed with a vibro blade them using 2 finishing with a combination vibro blade in his left hand and his power hammer in his right each and every movement was precise the blades always at the correct angle pointed at the correct location this has practice for 150 years and he just couldn't stop himself. He had told this clan members to arrive at the party at 5 o'clock finishing his exercise he dropped off his blades and picked up a package and the belatedly his wife. As they stepped through the door every Wookie in the room stopped whatever conversation they were in to look in his direction at his nod they returned to their previous conversations. There could be no doubt in anyone's mind that at his command or even the perception of his displeasure a tide of fur, fangs and claws would rollover you like Waves hitting the beach. Beside him stood a female Wookie whose hair was the color of spun copper, She was also wearing the requisite harness with translator droid attached at her collar. Walking over to the bar where Cade sat Yong Ki place a snake skin pack with shoulder strap and zipper on the bar and said that's for on Rutan's. If your castle never been touched never been stepped on me from that terrible Jedi on Rutan. It is 2 kilos of pure Kessel spice, never been touched ,never been stepped on. Yong Ki then switched on his translator droid and said to the bartender,"two tankards of iced mead."
