Kit was six feet, four inches tall with the slightly muscular build of a swimmer. He was swift and agile due to his pastime of sports and usually sported a five-o’clock shadow. He had blue eyes, though as the Apprentice of the Dark Lordess his eyes were a mix of blood red and yellow. He had unkempt, shaggy brown hair. As a Jedi, he wore clothing similar to royalty on Corellia, as a Sith he generally wore dark black robes, and as a Bendu he once more wore traditional Corellian robes of royalty.
History:
Kit Corwin Rendar was born on Corellia to Corwin and Jeyna Rendar. At the age of six, Kit's parents were killed in a horrible speeder accident where a man, drunk on Tarisian Ale, driving a waste vehicle slammed into the Rendar's vehicle killing all three. Kit was not with his parents at the time of his death. He was under the watch of his grandparents and when he heard the news he ran away to find his own destiny. Kit stowed away on a smuggler's ship in one of the many ports on Corellia. Fortunately, the smuggler warmed up to the brash young boy and he was taken as his apprentice. Kit learned all the tricks of the Smuggling trade and became known as one of the best smugglers if you wanted a transport of goods to not be discovered. He had a custom built ship made with his earnings, The Outrider, and also bought a robot LE-BO2D9 (Leebo). On a trip to Dantooine to deliver supplies, he met with Jedi Master Eliatra Sabre who sensed that Kit could use the Force and that was why he was able to avoid capture time and time again.
Kit began training as a Jedi and eventually became a Jedi Master. On a mission to Onderon, Eli and Kit encountered an old friend of Eli's. This mission was the culmination of a growing infatuation the two shared. The two expressed their love for each other at a moment where they both thought they were going to die. They survived and became married.
However, months later Eli supposedly died on a backwater world. Kit returned to the academy to teach on his own till he became involved with his padawan, Kyra Maans. The two instantly bonded and fell in love. However, Eli had not died and her return caused a divide between Kyra and Kit. After a few weeks Eli disappeared never to be seen again. Kit resumed his normal duties until his homeworld was placed in the crosshairs of an escalating conflict between the Sith and the Jedi.
With the Jedi Council doing nothing to prevent disaster, Kit took the safety of his beloved homeworld Corellia into his own hands. He went to Korriban and made a deal with the Dark Lordess that he would become her apprentice if she spared his homeworld. The Dark Lordess lived up to her end of the bargain and Kit became know to only a select few as Darth Ravinos.
He still kept up the facade of being a Jedi in order to inflict a heavy blow to the Republic and Jedi's image when he led Republic and Jedi forces in the attack on Pho Ph'eah under the lie that Sith had taken over the important Republic planet. After destroying most of the planet, Kit openly admitted to his troops that he was the Dark Lordess's Apprentice. His captain defied him and was made an example as Kit, now Ravinos, skinned him alive in front of his command crew. At this point, Kit Rendar had fully fallen to the Dark Side and was no more. All that was left of the man was now called Darth Ravinos, a man who lived only to serve his master and help her to dominate the galaxy.
It had recently come to pass that a long lost sister of Kit's, Laili Rendar had surfaced in the galaxy as well as a daughter between him and the late Kyra Maans. Jedi Master Ussej Padric Bac eventually came to him to seek revenge for the torment Laili had been put through at the hands of Darth Ravinos. Jedi Master Bac attempted to kill Lord Ravinos, but it proved futile. The Jedi Master was no where near strong enough. The weak-willed Ussej fell prey to the seduction of the Dark Side and was dubbed by Lord Ravinos as a Sith Lord: Darth Mantus. Later that evening, Laili too fell prey to the seductive powers of Ravinos and Mantus.
One year later, the Macabre Alliance gained a huge footing in the Sith Empire. Mantus turned from the Dark Side and was able to convince Ravinos to do so as well. They managed to kill the spirit of Empress Viea inside of Adena Qel-Droma. Adena thanked them and left in peace. They attempted to kill Darth Apocalus and Darth Invidius, the new Dark Lords, but were overwhelmed and forced to flee. They knew that if they were to continue their family names they would have to go as far away as they could. They took Laili and Ussej Padric Bac II and headed towards the Unknown Regions of the galaxy.
Months after Apocalus and Invidius had taken the throne, the group of escapees was picked up by a ship in the Unknown Regions. Fearing for their lives, the group got into an attack stance. But, the unknown people were not attackers: they were rescuers. The people, introducing themselves as the Bendu Knights of the Ashla, revealed that they were on an exploration mission in The Skywalker’s Nebula which was where they all were at the present time. They explained who they were and the philosophies of their order. The group was stunned to hear the Bendu were once part of the Jedi Order.
They were taken back to the Bendu homeworld of Kal’Shabbol. Laili received training and sat on the Council of Priests, but she decided to resign after a few years. She and Ussej had another child, a girl named Talia, but the child died of a Leukemia-like disease on her eighth birthday.
Kit met and fell in love with a local woman named Selia Carnath. The two were married under the Ashlan Mountain ranges and had a child, whom they named Neil Rendar. Ussej and Kit were made Bendu Priests after a few years and Ussej II, as well as Neil, became Knights. Ussej and Kit eventually became the two High Priests of the Bendu Order and sat at the head of the Council of Priests. There came a time when a strange race threatened to destroy the Bendu, so Ussej took it upon himself to sacrifice himself for the good of his family and the Bendu.
Laili, Kit and Ussej II were devastated, but were able to come to terms with the death of their hero. Ussej was elected a Bendu Saint, an honor that went posthumously to only the greatest of all Bendu.
Kit, unfortunately, was the last of the original group to die. He was with Laili when she died and was the final vote in electing her a Bendu Saint. He was the first to deliver the news of the death of Ussej Padric Bac II at the hands of the Mandalorians. He was with Selia at her bedside as she too passed into the great beyond. But, there was an upside. He was able to see the birth of his grandson Jos Rendar. It was a joyous occasion that he remembered for the short time he had left.
Twelve years after the birth of his grandson, which was three years after the deaths of Laili, Ussej II and Selia, Kit died at the age of eighty one. His funeral lasted for hours with thousands of citizens from all over Kal’Shabbol coming to pay their respects to their beloved leader. Kit was laid to rest just below the Ashlan Mountains next to the graves of Laili, Ussej II and Selia. Upon his death, the Council of Priests elected Kit a Bendu Saint. It was the first time in the history of the Bendu Order that three Bendu were elected to Sainthood in such a small period of time.
Eventually, one Rendar decided to leave Kal’Shabbol. But, the memory of Kit Rendar lived on throughout the generations. High Priest Ussej Padric Bac LXIV was once quoted as saying, “One of my childhood heroes was Saint Kit Rendar. If not for him, my family may not have even become Bendu.” Ussej LXIV was later privileged to work with a smuggler named Dash Rendar, one of the descendants of Saint Kit Rendar. Dash was Force sensitive and, upon learning about his ancestor, decided that the Bendu were in his blood and he decided to join them in their quest for peace.
