Sevrin was about to step into the shuttle that would take him off planet when the Padawan addressed him. The Sephi stared calmly as Shaw stumbled through his words, wearing the same stony expression as always. After he asked his final question, there was a long moment of painful silence.
In truth, Sevrin hadn’t taken on a Padawan in many years. He traveled a lot and took on dangerous missions, but the boy showed potential. And he showed initiative by directly asking Sevrin to become his Master. After what seemed like a century, the Sephi finally spoke, “Very well,” He said flatly, “But know that this means you will be away from the temples for long periods of time. I teach on the field,” Sevrin said curtly.
“Come with me,” He said as he walked up the ramp.
