Karada Seigyo
tenor.gif
CONCENTRATION: Low
PVP FREQUENCY: Low to High
ALIGNMENT: Neutral
STAMINA DRAIN: Low
CATEGORY: Site Lore

DESCRIPTION:
Karada Seigyo is a form of martial arts developed by the Matukai organization. This form is based off of knowledge of your opponent's biology, and placing quick, but powerful punches to the specific nerve spots to incapacitate your enemy. When the Matukai developed this technique, they were looking for a way to prevent their Force Sensitive foes from using the Force against them. But the first incarnation was unsuccessful in that manor, as it only froze the limbs for a moment, but most Force users are able to use the Force without physical movements.

Then came the thought to add small bursts of the Force into these jabs and punches, using the bursts to disrupt the flow of the Force in one's body. To actually disrupt the flow of the Force in one's body even temporarily, requires a series of successful blows. A single hit using this technique may break the user's concentration on whatever force ability they were using, but it would not prevent them from using the Force again. The disruption of Force only comes after several successful blows using this technique, but even when it takes affect, the ability does not last long. ((One post max))

INTENT:
To provide more lore for the Matukai, and expand on the martial arts in the SW universe. I believe that it would be a fun concept to RP with, and to even the odds for those who choose to fight without a weapon.

So I think the write up seems mostly ok. One thing that I do not like is the line: "if they are in range when the attack starts, a person with the ability can attempt to stop that attack, although those instances are slim to none."

It gives the impression that the attacks using Karada Seigyo are unblockable or otherwise unable to be avoided or misdirected. If this is to be used against PCs, you should probably remove this line or reword the implication.

I'm also unsure if I want to approve something that implies you can shut down a force user's abilities entirely for spurts of time by landing single blows. I think you should reword this portion: "Successful hits will temporarily disrupt the flow of the Force in a user's body. Usually it takes 5-6 seconds to wear off..." to say something more akin to repeated strikes against pinpoints can disrupt force flow, such as landing a full melee combo.

I'm okay with single blows interrupting concentration required to maintain or start a force power, however. So single blows as an interrupt seems ok, just not the idea that landing a single punch to a single vital can shut down a forcer for upwards of 6 seconds.

Okay, yeah I realize now that my wording needs some work. The first line, I meant that it's unlikely for the user of the technique to break the concentration or disrupt the flow of the Force. I will reword that.

As for the second point you bring up, I totally agree. No single hit should actually disrupt the flow of Force. That would probably require at least five or six successful hits. but the single it to break concentration could work well. I will get it edited as soon as I can.
