A broken being. A broken vessel.
That’s all Alasdaire has become. His own name lost to depths of his own self-hatred, the fragile pieces of his mind desperately attempting to feign normalcy.
This is the result of a childhood filled with bloodshed, loss, contempt and indignity. Though Alasdaire was born to said family, a well established family of Vahla, he and his kin where treated as lepers. Even the youngest, innocent and pure of heart, were not spared such cruelty. You see, the Alasdaire had a storied history, and though their cousins had cleansed the sins of their past, it was not so for his family. They still clung to their ancient traditions, steeped in darker, occult ways of the past - something the local Vahla had frowned upon.
Everything came to a head when an off-world warlord, with his feet of onyx vessels, attempted to take claim of Rhen Var in its entirety. Though many in their settlement chose to remain loyal to the kindling frontier, the Alasdaire accepted what in their view was inevitable, and so chose to side with the Warlord, instead of seeking disgrace in defeat. This led to the organization of the presently defunct Omadikímada (Literal; Ember Group). Though he was but twelve of age, the young man’s own peers had come to be his enemies, as he fought alongside Vahla Revolutionaries and off-worlders alike. The horror of these battles drove the preteen to a near schizophrenic state. The boy’s mind broke in the heat of battle, as he watched his brother die trying to defend his father. Being too far away to assist, he watched his sibling’s corpse strike the crimson snow, the family patriarch’s head following shortly afterwards.
He was dragged off the battlefield by his surviving allies, screaming in rage and attempting to kill anyone or anything he saw. A mental break is damage enough for the mundane, but it can be particularly dangerous to a Force-User, when one’s natural use of the energy field is altered. Objects would rise, tables would shake, his eyes would sputter - he saw horrific, nightmarish visions. And he had no control whatsoever, being helplessly trapped in his own body. When the Warlord vacated the planet, he took the child turned teen with him. Just long enough to deliver him to those who could heal him, or teach him to live with the torment - the Sith Eternal.
As they where dark-siders, the intricate process of putting a mind back together was out of the question. However, there where other ways. Ancient, archaic methods. The child was gifted a mask, one that bore a sinister dark energy. From the moment he put it on, he was in control of himself once more - though he was not the only one in his body. Now inhabited by the dark spirit Kanos, Alasdaire seeks to deepen his knowledge of the force in an effort to permanently heal himself.
Without a raspy voice whispering into his ear.
As with some members of the revolutionaries, and members or admirers of the Knights of Ren and Sith of old, Kanos is enshrouded in dark robing, with a white and crimson mask.

Kanos, in usual situations, in calm but conversational. He is used to the casual conversation of day to day travel and official business, being quite charismatic, and able to charm most anyone. He had the uncanny ability to soothe or terrify those who listen to him with the tone of his voice, which has no unnatural qualities to it. Simply, when he goes from soothing to angry, it is usually abrupt.
Kanos has an abnormally long fuse, but once that fuse is blown he can rage and seethe with anger, or simply explode all at once. In combat, he is cold and calculating, waiting for his opponent to make a mistake and taking advantage of it. He is fiercely loyal to the Eternal, and takes pride in his strength within the Force, working to further the faction’s agenda while carving out a legacy of his own in his small way.
It cannot be said, however, that he is not generous. His allies are usually treated quite highly by himself, and he is usually courteous to worthy adversaries. Kanos is rarely merciful, however that does not mean he is unduly cruel. He will end a life swiftly, and without remorse, instead of promoting suffering. He likewise dislikes extreme punishment for anything short of brazen treason, and takes to treating anyone under or above him the same - with respect, unless they act in a manner that changes his view of them.
It is very rare to see Kanos without his helmet on. On those rare occasions, it is usually commented that he has striking, angular features befitting his mannerisms.
