Affiliation: Kage Warriors, though some outer rim planetary security forces have been known to employ these weapons in small numbers generally planets surrounding Quarzite sector

Ownership: Elohim, anyone that would want one

Intent: Originally it was just going to be a special weapon for Elohim but I decided to give it a backstory and stuff so that it could get approved and make it a nifty weapon for others to possibly use.

Model: Kagebō Mag-staff

Type: Mag-staff, melee

Size: Long, 5 feet when joined, 2.5 feet individually

Composition: Primarily composed of durasteel and cortosis weave.

Range: 1 Foot Optimal, 2 feet maximum

Description: The Kagebo mag-staff is one of the various weapons created and used primarily by the Kage Warriors of the planet Quarzite. It is the groups premier non-lethal weapons, and one of it's more reveled weapons in the wider galaxy. It's primary advantage is it's cortosis weave that allows the Kage Warriors, or it's non-Kage Warrior user, the strength to go toe-to-toe against a Lightsaber, or at least an effective barrier before the lightbeam tears your limbs off. Like most Kage Warrior weaponry, it uses electric shocks to numb and tire anyone it strikes making it popular with bounty hunters and even some police groups across the Galaxy. It has an "all-out shock" setting that surges the entire battery of the staff once the top of the electrical output is pressed down upon, ensuring the target to knock out unconsciously from extreme shock (this of course varies between species, but most species up to Wookiee-size won't be immune/anything larger would still feel a strong shock). In other words, the electric tip has to be thrusted on it's target to render them unconscious, grazing slams or "slashes" won't do much but shock and numb their body. Because of cortosis' bad resistance to electric current, the tips of the electric shock don't have any cortosis on them, mainly just the staff body.

While the electrical abilities of the weapons make it formidable enough, it isn't why the weapon is so popular, it's actually it's magnetic features that have make it a coveted weapon to those who use it. It is capable of pulling on metallic objects on the opposite end of the electric shock tool. Police groups use this to disarm any blaster weapon that could potentially be used to harm the officer, while bounty hunters and Kage Warriors alike use it to disarm or completely lock in their opponents and strike them down with the blunt of the other staff half. It doesn't have a wide area of pull, and it is more narrow field of attraction forcing the user to be precise with their aiming of the staff and item, but users find it rather easy as an extension of one's own limb. It also allows for the Kage Warriors to use the magnetic pull to attach to ceilings or under pathways to hide. It should go without say, but it is this attraction feature is what allows the staff to split from two individual pieces to one single staff.

The weapon itself is controlled through pressure sensors on the staff's grips, making it a difficult weapon to completely master, though those who do master the weapon make themselves a force to be reckoned with in close-quarter combat. That being said, the weapon doesn't have much in terms of lethal capabilities unless the user completely pummels his opponent through sheer brute force. Smaller species like Jawas and Ewoks however might even go into cardiac arrest or result in organ failure from intense shock of one staff end. Using both staff ends to render someone unconscious could also run this hazard of death on an opponent. When attached to one another, the staff loses it's ability of "all-out shock" setting, as most of it's energy output is focused on the mag-seals.

My first weapon submission so critiques are not welcome unless from Clayton. I'll definitely take some compliments though.

I'm kidding about the critiques, just be gentle on me, it's my first time.

EDIT: Also sorry if it's a hard read. I'm like that.

I like it. Kind of an early precursor to the mangaguard staff. I'm not sure how I feel abut the magic magnets push/pull thing though.

@Clayton I'm glad you caught that. My original pitch was gonna be a magnastaff prototype thing, but I sort of had a bit of fun with the Kage Warrior background to it.

And take your time on the magnet thing, I added secondly because it's more practical and ninja-like than anything - which is what I'm going for. I'm personally using it for more practical non-combat oriented things (ie, clinging to ceilings/under metallic bridges/scaling metallic walls), but they do serve a combat purpose for others that would want to use it for those purposes. Plus the obvious work around would be to not fight with metallic weapons, or widen the gap between you and the person you're fighting to make it more of a ranged fight. They're basically really disruptive close quarter weapons.

I could alter the effective ranges, or give it a clear limit, but in all honesty I'd like to keep the feature mainly because it'll be my thief's signature tool and will need the magic magnet for a lot of his early threads in show casing his thieving skills and what not.

Mmm, cut the magnet range in half, remove the "push" and I'll consider it.
