Anami's eyebrows rose at his abandonment of attempted secrecy. "Very," she said politely. She continued to stare ahead, past the horizon.

"I got this one when i was at the academy" Deakr said holding the one that had the blue beam, of course she didn't know that it was blue because he didn't show her.
"It is blue, or so I'm told. I cant see colors" he said a little embarrassed like.

Hearing the embarrassment in his voice, Anami decided to avoid the topic of his color blindness. It wasn't her place to make the client uncomfortable.

"An academy? Do military academies give those out now?"

"No, it was the, uh, Jedi academy" Deakr explained. "I 'worked' there all my life till about four years ago" he said.
Reaching into his pocket, Deakr took out his other lightsaber. "This one's red. That's the only color I can remotely see. I see with a combination of infrared, sonar and the force."

Anami eyed him, trying not to search his figure while looking suspicious. She couldn't see any visible organs that would account for his ability to perceive infrared or sonar. There were no heat seeking pits on or around his face for infrared detection. There was no visible fatty tissue or large ears to aid in echolocation or biosonar.

Perhaps the client was aided by computer or mechanical enhancements.

Perhaps the client was a droid.

Perhaps all things were possible through this Force.

Whatever the case, Anami smiled before turning her eyes back to the glowing horizon before them.

If he could detect infrared at great distances, he would definitely be able to 'see' some of the beauty in the contrast of the cold shadow of the planet and the brilliant heat of the sun.

"Is it normal for military officers to have two light sabers?"

"No." Deakr said. "I'm a special case because I can use the force. I was trained at the Jedi temple and then joined the military. They really need people like me."
He noticed that he was talking a lot about himself and wondered what was Anami's history. "what about you" Deakr asked. "What have you been doing before you started being a taxi driver?"

Anami wondered why clients were asking about her personal life lately. Usually they were too indulged in themselves to notice anything except the alcohol and the companions in their laps.

This client was different and maybe she was giving off some weird vibe.

"This is my first job actually. Flying is what I've always wanted to do." She smiled, remembering how much trouble it had gotten her into lately. She really did try to be a good girl though. "I hope to work for The Company for many years here after."

Glancing at the glowing charts lighting up the airspeeder's dash, Anami saw that they were approaching the ideal point of re-entry into lower orbit.

(Sorry about the delay, I have had a lot of work to do.)

Deakr sensed the small emotion of happiness, or some form of it. She was probably thinking about the past. Deakr took a chance and said "You probably got in a lot of trouble because of the flying. How'd that work out for you?"
Deakr was having a good time with the female Sephi.

"Well, trouble is unusual. The Company runs a very respectable operation." She paused. "You can never know who will be stepping through your door though." Anami remembered how quickly some people entered her life, and then how quickly they just disappeared.

She then tilted the steering controls for a gentle decent. The light over the horizon waned as she took them both into the night again.

listening to Anami speak, Deakr thought that she probably not of had a conversation with other passengers she drove.
Wanting to start a strong conversation about a topic that has been bugging him for a wile now, Deakr said "Have you ever noticed how humans have been taking over the galaxy. Like they're the mane character in books and they are usually the ones to get picked at job interviews. I don't know, maybe its because they're so adaptable to environment changes."

"Perhaps I am not experienced enough to have noticed this." Anami could only think of her many Twilik coworkers. "Are humans not one of many minorities throughout the galaxy?" Anami's interactions with humans had been limited thus far. "Are humans really so adaptable?" She really was curious.

Answering Anami's last question, Deakr said "yes, you can put them on a frozen planet and a volcanic planet and they will find a way to survive." He was always listening to Holo recordings of genetics, biology, and other things. It interested him
"As long as the planet has breathable air like this, even if it didn't they would find a way to colonize it too."

Anami monitored their slow decent before continuing the conversation.

"But the technology they use isn't exclusively original to their race. They have the help of the galaxy, as do other species."
Not wanting to sound contrary however, she continued, "Perhaps it is the humans most powerful trait though. Their success is probably due to their strong desire to spread and thrive."

"You have a point." Deakr admitted. That brought a whole new factor in his mental equation.
"Have you ever wondered why it's called near-'Human' instead of near-Sephi or something else?" He said changing the subject slightly.

She pursed her lips in thoughtfulness as she dipped the nose of the airspeeder slightly. "Perhaps it is their qualities that are called 'human' and therefore defines them as such. It only makes sense for other species sharing these qualities called 'human' to be referred to as near-human." Of course what she said was obvious, but she had not really thought of it in this context. "A human, by any other name, will still be just as virile, after all."

The city lights of Coruscant brightened as the shadow of the planet deepened.

"I have wondered though, why 'human', and not 'Sephi'," a small smile tugged at her lips as she thought of her own race being a sort of center to the galaxy, "is the common ground many have found to stand upon. And sometimes I am inclined to think that if some race had started it all, it must have been the humans."

She wondered what he had to say to this and if his line of questioning would come to solidify into an identifiable goal. When she knew what her clients wanted, her job was that much easier.

"Ya, I guess. I do look more Human then Sephi. I don't have your ears." He admitted
"Why do you have the ears anyway?" Deakr asked. He was wondering about that from when he first noticed them.

For a moment, Anami thought she should explain the processes of natural selection that brought about physical features. Instead, she thought of something more poetic that suddenly came to mind. "It has been said that ears such as mine are gifts from the divine so that the voices of the gods might be heard and heeded."
