Why was it that, almost everywhere she went someone thought they could take something from her?

This time Demolly was in a junkyard, still in her usual black and silver garb and facemask. It was a detour from what she came to the planet for, but it was more a flight of fancy and... something in the Force had told her to stay.

One of her lightsabers were drawn and ignited. It's crimson blade hissed as she pulled it out of one of the men who'd tried to rob her. Another man got up from the ground, shaking and firing a shot at her. Demolly batted it away with her blade, and began walking towards the man. She could sense his fear, and it only stirred the predator within her.

"Mercy! MERCY!" the man screamed, before tripping over one of his knocked out colleagues. It stirred the knocked out man, but before he could open his eyes Demolly raised her hand, pouring all the built up anger and pain from her training into the darkness. Lightning crackled between her fingers before a stream of it shot towards the two men. Their screams echoed through the junkyard.

Score!

Whatever slack-jawed space muppet who owned this junkyard? They were even more stupid than they probably looked because there was no security around and there was valuable salvage all around! Hells, he was in the middle of disconnecting something that usually cost a good few hundred credits even used and he was getting it free thanks to shoddy security and a quick hand with a screwdriver.

He honestly wasn't even sure what the starship part was called - he just knew that it was expensive and he wanted it and he was gonna get it!

He also had a pocket full of memory cards used for navicomputers which was handy because the ship he was working on? It's navicomputer was just kind of there. It wasn't wrecked but he wanted it to be better... if that made sense to anyone else other than him, good, but he was fine if he was talking nonsense only he understood.

Then he started feeling it, the sinking and sickening sensation that he'd felt before.

Dropping out of the ship he was salvaging, he paused as the screaming started.

"Kark."
he whispered urgently to himself, "Kark kark kark kark karkity karking KARK!"

He quickly picked up his stun blaster and made a break for it - of course he immediately ran for the exit but the problem with that? There was currently a Sith witch woman torturing some guys right in front of him now. He blinked a few times at her.

"Hi."

He was nervous! It was the first thing that came to mind!

"Could you... um... do you mind... stopping?"

A pause.

"Please?"

It was barely on her senses, but she sensed something approach. It was apparent what it was when she heard a tiny male voice behind her. Demolly stopped, though the men she'd been frying were barely holding onto their lives. They'd likely die if they didn't get help soon, since they didn't have enough strength to drag their fried bodies to get medical aid, let alone do anything required to keep living.

When she turned around, a zabrak boy... or some type of mutt stood there. Fear emanated from every pore on his body, which only made his situation more precarious with her. Demolly tipped her head some as she thought... was this why the Force brought her here? A prospect? But why would this prospect be so important that the Force itself guided her to him? She wasn't sure, but she was curious enough...

...and easily fixated.

She stepped closer to him, lightsaber in hand in case he decided to do something stupid. "It was self defence," she answered carefully at first, interested in keeping the boy around, although a little chase would be fun. "They attacked me. A mistake they'll never make again."

Since they'd probably die.

"But they're unimportant. Boy, do you understand what you're sensing now? What you are?" she asked plainly. She wasn't the type to play around for long. Bluntness got things done quicker, usually. It could just get a little more... messier than subterfuge.

Oh fantastic.

Not only was she listening to him but she had the kind of look in her eye that he'd seen before. It was the look some people had had in their eyes when they'd tried threatening his mom - the kind of unhinged look that told him they weren't about to sit down and have a rational conversation. And, worse, she wasn't about to just let him go just because he asked her nicely.

When she stepped closer to him, he stepped back away from her because, well, he wasn't insane. He had some tricks up his sleeves but nothing that would mean taking on a Sith witch with her lightsaber out would be anything other than dumb, dumb and dumber still. He chuckled a little bit nervously.

"Usually self-defense don't include cooking the guys like they're a hotdog."

Hot, sizzling and full of meat you wouldn't wanna eat if you knew what animal it came from. And, shite, she was going on about the Force and how he was sensing her in the Force. He continued backing away, aware of a small passage behind him that ran between two stacks of salvage that was covered only by a sheet of metal. It blended in unless you knew where it was.

"I'm sensing some major bad vibes - you hangry?"
he joked weakly, "Nah but I kind of get the gist of it. I'm what you might call a spirited beginner, know what I'm saying?"

Demolly barely acknowledged his first comment. Those men meant nothing to her. They were bugs that she'd squashed beneath her feet as she walked the path of the Dark Side. They hadn't even been a challenge. Their existence had been utterly meaningless and she didn't want to waste one more single thought on them.

The boys answer to her question—though snarky—amused her. A smile cracked on her lips in reaction. So he was aware, though how aware she wasn't sure. That uncertainty only spurred the curiosity in her even more. If he had any hopes of getting away from her easily, they would be quickly wiped from existence.

"Beginner," she echoed in an eerie whisper. "Then, come with me quietly and listen to the knowledge I have on it." What she was really saying, and she was certain he knew it, was not to bother putting up a fight. Oh, she'd enjoy it thoroughly, but she didn't want to waste time. No matter how much it'd indulge her predatory nature, when more important matters were at hand she was eager to get on with it.

"A bit of knowledge... ah..." she said with a soft chuckle. "A bit of knowledge never hurt." Demolly continued to follow the boy. Her senses were heightened to the max, her instincts long triggered. She was watching him very, very closely and keeping her feelers out for any escape routes around.

Ah she was not digging the vibes he was putting out and he was VERY much against the vibes he was getting from her. If she would just leave he would be incredibly happy with that result but, he supposed she wasn't in the business of making other people happy with a face like that and all those edgy spikes and shite. He grinned a little bit despite himself, his grip on his stun pistol still rather tight with all things considered.

"See, I would yeah but my momma always told me not to go with strange older women."
he told her with a little chuckle, "Said they might try and grind my horns or something. Or was it right my horn? I didn't pay much attention but I remember the first bit."

And this chick was hella sus.

He chuckled nervously as his back pressed up against the sheet metal covering the exit he had planned. To anyone but him (and maybe the extra crispy boys on the ground) he was actually now very trapped. But he was kind of exactly where he wanted to be - if he ignored the fact that he didn't want to be anywhere near the spikey edgy woman.

"Say your lightsaber is red, right?"
he flashed her another nervous grin, "You one of them Siths?"

Just needed to keep her talking long enough for his distraction to take place...

"Enough!" she snapped at him. He was drawling on and on with none sense she didn't care about. It was almost painful after only a few seconds. The goal to capture him was set solidly into her mind, but he'd already run her patience thin so she choose to expedite some things.

Demolly raised her hand and began to dig into the strange boys mind. But she was not known to do so 'nicely', and yes there was a nice way to do it, at least compared to her methods. She'd begin to—or at least try—to find memories that scared him and bring them to the surface, force him to relive the most haunting peaks. In their absence, or after them, she'd add terrible images from her own life just to push him even more.

He'd see men and women tortured only inches from his face, the near unbearable and life-changing feelings and images of being tortured himself. They'd be her experiences, but he'd see them as his own. She wanted him to feel searing, body twisting pain, feel as if he could taste his own blood in his mouth and choke on it. He'd see lifeless, mutilated corpses frozen in the positions of horror they died in. And all the while he'd feel the sense of hopelessness and helpless as men much bigger, much stronger loomed over him and controlled it all. Then after, if he was swimming in fear, she'd attempt to heighten his emotions, turn up the notch to send him over the edge.

If or when he'd break, her next step would be to use the weakness to dig further and extract more precise information on him. It was what she truly wanted. Who was this boy? Why did the Force bring her to him?

Enough? He'd barely even gotten started! If she thought this was too much talking then she had other things coming. This level of chatter was just a regular, every day, thing for him at this point. If she thought that she could handle trying to teach him when this was took much talking?

"Oh lady I barely even started!"

Of course then she stopped messing around.

It felt like she'd taken a very long needle, heated it up nice and warm, and stuffed it into his brain through, somehow, both of his eyes and his ears at the same time. Yelping in pain (he didn't really get chance to take the breath for a scream and he was unprepared so it wasn't a more manly grunt), he wrapped an arm around his head and clutched at it as the pain lanced through him.

Memories bubbled to the surface of the Ranger HQ... of the heat of the flames and the expressions on the faces of the men he'd stunned, leading to their deaths. Of the smell of the Sith half-cooked from the turret he had used to kill him.

It was disgust that accompanied fear to the forefront of his mind, that she could see and feel herself. Disgust not in the death but in the Sith themselves because, as she would be able to confirm, he was Force sensitive and everything about the Dark Side and how it made him feel made him was to throw up.

His defenses would be non-existent around some of the basic information but even without formal training he instinctive wrapped all of his concentrated will around the people he loved the most. She would be able to tell that his friends were also Force Sensitive but would find any specifics about them wrapped up tightly. About his mother there would be even less as he ignored everything else just to protect them.

As she dug, it became obvious he was protecting something. And she wanted... no, needed to know what was so important that he was afraid of her finding out.

Perhaps it was the information that he was hiding that brought her here. The Force was rarely clear about its intentions, outside of the Dark Side's hunger.

Demolly increased her pressure on his mind, and not slowly. It would be a swift and sudden increase. She wanted to push him, increase the pain to near unbearable. She knew there was a possibility of it damaging his mind while she was at it, but she didn't really care. If it happened, obviously she wasn't meant to capture him.

He wanted her out of his head.

The pain was lancing through his mind like a headache on steroids that replayed all of his worst memories over and over again like a broken datapad. Physically the pain wasn't the worst he had ever experienced but having to experience it while a demented slideshow ran through his mind was something beyond what he had experienced in his short life so far. His defenses around his most precious memories were weakening and he didn't know enough about how he'd even defended them in the first place to improve or even just mend those same defenses.

He wanted her out of his head and gone.

His hands were behind his back for some reason he couldn't quite remember, all of his focus was on what she was doing to his mind and it did not make for happy reading. She was forcing more pressure on his mind and he could honestly say that he was beginning to feel them peeling away like she was peeling a piece of fruit. He barely registered it when his hands clutched around the thin edge of metal behind him, cutting into his palms slightly.

He wanted her out of his head and in pain.

But he registered the moment his instinctive protections were going to fail. He knew, on a fundamental level, not only that his defenses would break but when they would break and it would be soon. It was going to happen any second now and she would know everything he knew about his friends and about his mother.

He wanted her out of his head and... dead.

As the slideshow of horrors was replaced by memories of his friends, their Force Sensitivity and his mother? Something snapped on the inside and he felt his stomach recoiling in disgust at the same feeling of wrongness with the Galaxy. A mixture of fire and force thrust outward from Crix, directed entirely at the Sith who had dared to tear things from him, who had dared to harm him and take his secrets as her own.

The anger burned in his veins and felt like a lead weight in his stomach. Something sang to him in his anger, something that promised him the power to destroy the woman who had violated his mind. It was a cloyingly sweet voice and it offered revenge like it was a delicacy but the whole thing just stank to Crix, sitting heavy and wrong in his stomach in such a way that he knew he couldn't stomach it.

He pulled hard at the sheet metal behind him and spun, the pain in his mind relaxed enough from his outburst that he could actively think and act again. Crix rushed into the junk at top speed, the narrow corridors seemingly to press in all around him even as he took twists and turns from memory and instinct alone. Desperation gave him the speed and stamina to sprint flat out, gave him the strength to ignore the way the junk cut at his arms as he ran.

He had wanted her dead for an instant and it sickened him.

It took awhile, and she could sense a hint of darkness coiling inside the boy, but she broke through his defense. Untrained he certainly was, a trained Jedi would be much harder, if not impossible to extract information from without much more torture or multiple Sith. She saw memories, faces, names and...

Trys.

The woman the Dark Lord of the Sith himself ordered captured.

This boy was her son. Her weakness. Demolly felt a dark sense of joy fill her. She took in as much information as she could, but then suddenly she felt the boy burst. Her hand was already up, so her face was at least protected but that was her one and only salvation. The force of the burst of flames and the Force itself sent her flying backwards at near breakneck speed. She screamed from the pain in her now burnt arm, and the few other places the licks of flames had managed to burn..

Demolly skidded across the ground, dropping her saber. Her saber went out and the hilt rolled for a few meters. It took a moment to get her senses back and look at her burnt arm. She was lucky he hadn't kept up the attack and made her arm useless, but it was a nice burn that'd leave a good scar. Now both her arms had scars. One from the Jedi Master's lightsaber, one from the boy... Trys son.

When she got up, she walked to her saber with a bit of a limp and grabbed it with her left hand. She knew the boy would be long gone, and she was hurt. There was no sense in chasing him now, but he was never going to be safe again now that she knew who he was. Though, as she stood in the streets in pain, an idea struck her. She was going to exploit this information. Capturing the boy could come later.

She began to slowly make her way back to her ship for medical aid, and to put her plan into motion. She'd waste no time with this treat she'd been given.
