Sevrin had arrived a few hours prior in a borrowed ship from the Yavin temple. While he had one of his own, he preferred to change up what he traveled in based on the nature of how he operated. The Knight was closely aligned with the Jedi Shadows, and he often changed his methods every so often to keep any trails off.

The Sephi would have offered a ride to anyone that tagged along with him, or he would meet them at the rendezvous point. All the padawans had been given thorough instructions on where to arrive and when, and he simply hoped they could at least all meet without any incidents.

The sun was hot and there was humidity in the air. There was a thick jungle through which they would have to trek to find an old Imperial base. Intelligence gathered suggested that there was a very lucrative ship nestled away in the base, and it would be an asset for the Jedi. It would serve not only as an addition to the growing fleet, but also a covert option to use to venture deep into Sith space.

The exit ramp of his ship lowered and he strode down till his boots touched grass. Sevrin was adorned in his Jedi robes. The area was expected to be largely abandoned and he didn’t anticipate running into anyone. Nevertheless, things rarely worked out that simply.

Sevrin glanced out towards the jungle path, waiting for his cohort to gather.

Wurfuhlla had been traveling to this place he had never heard of. It was quite common for this padawan. The ship he was riding in arrived at the location given. Hopping out, the Wookiee landed on the soil. Taking in the sounds and the smells of this jungle. Reminded him of the jungles back on his home planet of Khashyyk.

The location was shown on his holographic projector. “Well if I head this way I should make it to where it says on here. Better get to moving.” Closing up his holographic map he began heading in the direction of the beacon. This was the most exciting thing he has ever done.

Deciding to have fun along the way Wurfuhlla climbed the trees and jumped branch to branch. Swinging in the vines. The feeling of wind flowing through his fur. It was like being home. It was fun until he swung into a branch... and fell..

“Let’s hope no one saw that!” Wurfuhlla said as he slowly stood up. He began running to the same direction. Passing so many trees it was quite the sight. The Wookiee then saw a ship in the distance. Looked like one of the ones back at Yavin. Could be the place he needs to be. He began to approach as he had seen Sevrin in his robes awaiting. Wurfuhlla was in awe. He had never actually met the Jedi but had heard the stories. This has officially become Wurfuhllas greatest trip.

Felix had hitched a ride with Sevrin, he didn't have his own ship and even if he did have one, he didn't think Indy would let him have access to it after what happened on Denon. To be honest he was surprised she allowed him to come but that didn't matter right now.

He was in his combat robes, he wasn't excepting any fight the place was meant to be abanded which meant the only real dangers were the local fauna, but it was likely they could deal any animals without to much of a fuss, he was those robes because they were light, breathable and form-fitting, less like to snag on the brush of the jungle than a heavy cloak.

He followed Sevrin down the exit ramp of his ship, walking past him to stand facing towards him, his eyes on the ground as they waited for others.

The directions seemed simple enough. Go through space mostly undetected, land in a humid jungle and meet at a rendezvous point. But...

"Why do Jedi always have to meet in kriffin' jungles?"

It was humid enough that the woman was already starting to sweat, swiping at her brow and glaring, for a moment, at the tops of the trees before grumbling again, pulling up her nav. "Where was that again..?"

By the time she came into view to the rest of the crew, Willa had shed her outer robe, lightly jogging their way. She exhaled slowly, then gave a small smile to the Knight, giving a slight bow. "Hello. Hope I'm not too late to the party."

Another day, another jungle planet.

Hopefully this one was less likely to try and kill him by cannibalism but, well, Crix was of the school of thought that it was better to prepare for the worst than to expect to not have people try and eat him alive. Thankfully for him, he wasn’t going to be going through the trial of this particular jungle alone.

Sevrin had gathered a veritable platoon of Padawans and that both reassured him and worried him a little bit. Evidence showed that as the number of Padawans present increased so too did the chances of disaster and he wasn’t immune to that effect himself. Still, Red Lancer had the ship ready to go again at a moment’s notice, though he had made sure that he and Scooter would keep the ship locked until he returned.

Unlike most people, however, Crix cared for his droids. Rather than giving them restrictive orders to stay until he returned, which would doom them should he die, he commanded them to wait for him to either return or a full week to pass. If the week passed without him reaching the ship, they were to fly the ship back to Yavin.

He had shed his outer robes before leaving the ship so he arrived still dressed like a Jedi but less encumbered when he arrived at the meeting point. Crix grinned and nodded to the Wookiee he spotted, gave Willa a wink and acknowledged that Felix existed, before giving Sevrin a little wave. He had been spending more time around Sevrin and, thankfully, it was getting easier every time because he didn’t want any butterflies in his gut when he was supposed to be focusing on the mission.

“Reporting for duty boss.”
He announced with a wink and a grin, “Beginning to think you and me only ever meet in Jungles…”

Sevrin patiently waited till everyone arrived, silver eyes scanning over each padawan. If the Sephi had any opinions about any of them, it certainly didn’t reflect on his face. Not until Crix Aran spoke up after grinning and winking at both Sevrin and Willa. Sharp eyes flicked over to him briefly, Sevrin’s visage always a stoic mask.

“You’re not out on a picnic, padawan,” He stated curtly, “And your robes are inside out,” The tony was icy and he focused instead on retrieving items from a bag. He tossed something over to Crix and Felix. Sevrin looked back towards the jungle path.

“I don’t expect too much trouble on this journey, but that doesn’t mean it will be easy,” Sevrin said quietly, “Crix and Felix, you will put on blindfolds. Willa, you will be with Crix. Wurfuhlla, you will be with Felix. You will be the eyes of your companions as you guide them through this trek. You will need to be one with the Force and truly trust and work with one another. You will not hold hands or physically guide them. You will not verbally tell them where to go. You will guide them solely through the Force.”

Sevrin turned to look at them again, “Questions?” He didn’t give them a chance to ask before he began to walk.

For a while the path was straight and through the woods to allow them a moment to adjust. However, it would soon open up to cliffs and ridges that cut through a valley with huge drops on both sides. The Sephi was light on his feet, easily walking across the narrow path with a huge drop on either side. They could only walk single file and thin wisps of cloud and fog surrounded them.

Sevrin made it to the other side and patiently waited for the padawans to come through. If anyone fell, he would act accordingly, but he would let them attempt first.

And so they start the journey. The Knight before them had explained the rules. “You will guide them solely through the force” this was definitely a new task for Wurfuhlla but he was confident that they would be able to get through with little mistakes.. hopefully.

“Hello! I don’t think I’ve met you before. I’m Wurfuhlla.” The Wookiee said as he plucked a twig out of his fur and reached his rather large hand out to greet Felix. “I’ll do my best to guide you.” He wanted to assure the fellow Padawan even though he knew it would become a whole lot of falling, and possibly more branches.

Once Wurfuhlla had began across the path he noticed that it was definitely going to take a lot of trust between the pairs. No wonder the permission slips were a necessity. “Wow, that’s a large drop.” Mumbled the Wookiee as he followed the Knight along the path. He could feel the breeze blow through his fur. It was quite a relaxer. Which he needed for this next trial they were about to do. Surely it’s passable though.. right? Eh maybe Wurfuhlla was as ready as ever.

Well they were on another jungle planet and this time it was for a mission but it seemed they were going straight in with the serious attitude. He could do that - he could totally do that - but he had apparently forgotten something important when he had gotten dressed. His robes... were inside out?

It was with very little in the way of dignity and a steady reddening of his cheeks that Crix frantically looked down at himself to check. Of course it seemed that Sevrin was right and Crix had, indeed, gotten dressed wrong.

... dying of some jungle disease he'd never heard of would be preferable to the current feeling of wanting the ground to swallow him whole.

Hurrying, he undid the upper half of his robes before pulling them off entirely. He, mercifully, wasn't nude underneath his upper half of the robes - he had a tight t-shirt he wore underneath his robes for when he wanted to do mechanical work and didn't want to get his robes dirty. If he'd had to strip down and start flashing Sevrin, Willa, Felix and a Wookiee he'd never met before some skin?

Well at that point he'd had considered looking into the emitter of his lightsaber and pushing the button.

Pulling his upper robes back on, the right way round this time, Crix muttered a little bit before catching the blindfold out of the air. Guess it was time to put his game face on, try and get through it without having his cheeks permanently turn red. Tying the blindfold over his eyes, he gave Willa a thumbs up from where he remembered her being.

"Force Sight isn't allowed then, right?"

He didn't know the technique very well but he knew it well enough to be able to keep it up in fits and starts. But it was probably against the spirit of the training so he didn't make any moves to rely on it in the end. Instead he did his best to reach out with the Force, reaching out to touch Willa.

Connecting to her in the Force, he recognized her, his memories coming back.

... he was round her flat again, her dad out, and just working on music with her... she worked on music, he just tried to see how many grapes he could rebound off the wall into his mouth... when one hit him right in the eye and they both fell about laughing...

Yeah, that was Willa alright, he'd recognize that soft, warm, feeling anywhere.

So Knight Valtiere lived up to his rumors. She didn't take it too personally; in fact, it was nice he didn't try to be one of those 'it' crowd people like---

She was about to say her old master's name. Like he was still alive, standing there next to her, and she felt her gut twist. No. She had to keep her focus, she had to prove herself with Crix. Ironically, one of the few people in the galaxy she felt the most herself around. He was like a sun; he just drew people in, including herself. Working with him was like being pulled in by his orbit; she had to avert her eyes when he began stripping, fighting back a flush of her own when the Knight began walking away.

They had to trust each other and be open to one another. It was as easy as breathing, and just as natural. She trusted him with every inch, and she knew he felt the same. As he would open his mind to her, she would open her mind to him. Letting him see the world through her eyes.

It was a subtle nudge, an invitation into her own mind, her own thoughts. His memories echoed with hers, and for a moment she stared at his face, the knot in her chest tightening, but she could feel herself smiling bittersweetly.

....The smell of caf after a smoggy trek back home, walking together in sync, their shadows the same height, her sides aching with laughter as he told one joke after another, distracting her from the dread of walking home alone, and feeling the brush of his hand on her shoulder long afterward, a comfort when everything felt so isolating. Leaning over her shoulder and messing with her tracks...

He would see through her eyes. The vibrant thrum of the jungle life around them, taking a deep appreciative breath of the humid air, how all the colors seemed to pop and pulse-like touched with a thin line of Light.
Trust me, a thought skimmed towards him, laced with a smile. Something like a phantom lacing of fingers through his through the Force, a stable connection, tethering him to her. Like I trust you.

And with that, she began taking the first slow steps forward, letting him see through her eyes, feel through her hands. It was a them, natural and easy as breathing.

Felix caught the object Sevrin had thrown, a piece of cloth? No, a blindfold? He looked puzzled before Sev explained the task ahead.

Anxiousness flared up in him, he trusted Wurfuhlla but the person he didn’t trust was himself, ever since Denon he had been dealing with tinnitus, a constant reminder for him of the event that happened there. The constant ringing has made it hard to focus and centre himself in the force.

The Wookie approached, roaring and barking at him, he didn’t understand a word of Wookie, this didn’t help his anxiety. he smiled trying to hide what he was truly feeling below, "nice to meet you too, Wurfuhlla" he presumed the Wookie was introducing himself.

Felix took in a deep breath before putting on the blindfold, trying to calm his nerves as he tried to focus on the Wookie in front of him, he tried to focus on a sound, maybe that would help drown out the ringing, He tried to focus in on the breathing of his companion, using that to connect with Wookie head of him and guide him forward.

Crix’s question about Force Sight was met with a blank stare. If he wanted to use Force Sight that was his prerogative - though the only thing he would see would be the rough outline of Willa from behind. A Padawan that hadn’t trained too extensively in it would see nothing but vague shapes that would only distract them during this exercise.

Sevrin would let padawans find out for themselves what worked and what didn’t.

The Sephi was light on his feet, easily crossing the narrow path and arriving on the other side. He stood and watched his cohort making their way over. The air was brisk and they were very high up in the sky He could see the padawans becoming more and more comfortable with this.

That simply wouldn’t do.

Sevrin called the Force to himself and coiled it around the path they walked on. Almost at once, chunks of it began to fall away. This left the padawans standing on individual grassy platforms with massive drops into the clouds in between. In order to make it across, they would have to hop over across each column and know how to time it perfectly to avoid someone colliding into them.

The Sephi watched calmly before he addressed them, “Trust yourselves!” He called out. He would watch them closely, always prepared to act if anyone did anything exceptionally stupid.

As the Knight had been goin down the path Wurfuhlla and the rest were making easy work of the training exercise. The Wookiee noticed that using the force to focused on the breathing of Felix was working enough for them to have some connection through the force. He could feel Felix’s presence. That was good enough for them to focus on each other enough to get through the course.

That was until The Knight had changed the course. Causing the ground the were running on to separate into smaller pieces. Just floating about. Wurfuhlla missed a stamp but thankfully was able to catch the ledge of one of the rocks with a hand. As he was hanging he saw Felix fall straight down. Wurfuhlla reached out to grab Felix but wasn’t fast enough, which then lead to Felix falling out of the sky. And suddenly out of nowhere a giant bird flew by and grabbed him.

The bird began flying towards a mountainside. Surely it’s leading to its nest to feed it a babies. Unfortunately for that bird Felix would not be allowed to become dinner. Especially if Wurfuhlla could help it. At least that’s what Wurfuhlla hoped for. He was responsible for Felix’s safety through this course. He failed him. Now he needed to get out, find and save Felix.

After climbing back on top of the rock Wurfuhlla would ask Sevrin “What should we do? We have to go save them.” In Shyriiwook. Surely a Knight of Sevrin’s caliber should know his language and if not then he could translate through the force. Either way the Wookiee needed to know the plan.

She had to be careful of her step initially, but when the pathway suddenly began crumbling, she gasped, staggering on one foot while precariously balancing on the suddenly lone floating outcrop. At first, they made some distance, but when she tried stepping again, she stumbled hard, and for two panic-inducing moments, she felt her leg meet free air. Scrabbling hard for purchase, she managed to grip the rock to pull herself up, but her mind still spun, and she whipped around, feeling it just as he took the step.

"CRIX!"

Fear clenched her stomach, as she whipped out a hand as though to grasp at him through the air, almost recklessly diving after him herself when powerful wingbeats came, and she watched in wordless anxiety as he was swooped up, spared one terrible fate and given another.

When she rejoined the Knight and her fellow Padawan, she swallowed down her fear and squared her shoulders. She couldn't understand Wurf's language, but his tone came plaintively enough. Firming her expression she gripped her lightsaber.

"We're going to get them before it's too late. Master Valtiere, any experience with mountain climbing?"
She wasn't one to sit idly by and let her best friend be mincemeat for a bunch of giant birds. She would rescue him one way or the other... but a plan was starting to form.

The biggest obstacle, however, was getting to that mountain.

A deadpan stare from Sevrin… why was he getting the feeling that he was going to be getting this kind of look a lot? He hoped there was some fondness in that exasperation at least but, well, that might just be a spark of boyish hope rather than actual truth in that. He hadn’t said no to Force Sight so Crix was going to try it when he felt the need.

He could practically feel Willa’s happiness at the exercise – if there was one thing that hadn’t changed about Willa over all the years he had known her, it was that she was a perfectionist. She strived, constantly to try and be the best she could be and this kind of training was right up her hyperlane.

Crix himself wasn’t going to say that it didn’t promise to be interesting at least.

However there was interesting – walking through a jungle blindfolded while trusting in the Force and the vague outlines he could see through Force Sight – and then there was Suddenly Horrifying. The Suddenly Horrifying part was when he could feel the ground moving, lifting, under his feet but he lacked the sight to truly know what was going on, and worse? He was already committed to motion.

He knew he had been raised but by how much? He couldn’t ‘see’ the ground with Force Sight but he knew he wasn’t great with the technique yet. It could be less than five feet up or he could be fifty feet up for all he knew. The fact that he was mid-step didn't help at all and neither, strangely enough, did his best friend shouting his name like he was about to die.

That was the kind of thing that worried a guy!

Crix had never had a problem with dreams where it suddenly felt like he was falling but he was damned sure that he was going to in the future. Behind the blindfold his eyes widened and his stomach lurched right up into his throat as he was suddenly falling through the air. How high up was he? Would the impact with the ground kill him or just break him? Would there be pain or would he die instantly so he wouldn't have to suffer?

Having his momentum arrested by being grabbed by the ankle was enough to damned near give him whiplash but even with the feeling of talons/claws/nails digging into his left ankle, it beat falling to his death. Air whipped around his ears and Crix, once again, knew that he was going to be having very specific nightmares in the future. Reaching out through the Force he forced a connection to Willa's mind though it was becoming fainter with a growing distance.

"This is all part of the training, right? You've got this, yeah?"

The terrain below Felix feet was getting rougher as walked behind Wurf, his guide. Noticing the grounding seemingly becoming more disjointed as they continued. He felt Wurf loose contraction whilst he was midstep, his stroke the edge slip down and with it Felix.

With a little light the blindfold let through, it was flashing black and white as he tumbled through the air. He didn't know how high they were or what lay below.

His breath was panicked, it was quick and inconsistent as his mind rushed at lightspeed to figure out a way out of his predicament. Before he could do anything a powerful grip across his forearm and a razor-sharp pain pierced his leg producing a pained howl from the young man.

Taking off the blindfold, he was greeted with the sight of a large avian creature that had caught out of the air, it appeared the force had saved him from falling to his death only to replace it with being eaten.

His first thought was to escape from the creature but with the height below him and its claws in his thigh escape didn’t seem likely. He panicked for a second, he quickly checked for his lightsabers, losing those would make escape more difficult and mean a lecture from Indy. finding both of them remain on his belt he left them there. He didn’t need them now and they were secure there.

Looking around he spotted Crix had also scooped up by one of the same avians as him, presuming they fell under similar circumstances at least he wasn’t alone. The mountain seems their destination and likely to hungry mouths, hopefully, the others weren’t too far behind in pursuit of them, he doubted they could make their way back to the group on their own.

It wouldn’t be a padawan adventure if there weren’t some bizarrely awful mishaps. The Knight watched a sequence of events happen rapidly before him. While he reached out with the Force to catch the falling padawans, he couldn’t have anticipated two giant birds to come sweeping in to carry them away.

It wasn’t in Sevrin’s nature to panic, however, as he stood and assessed the situation quickly. He was quiet even as Wurfuhlla and Willa both frantically approached him asking him what to do. Sevrin’s silver gaze tracked the birds from a great distance, his senses far superior due to being Sephi.

“Temper your mind and focus,” He commanded with an icy tone without looking at them, “You will accomplish nothing if you let your worries govern you.”

With that, Sevrin rushed towards the mountain. The path was narrow and it would hug against the base of the mountain. He had no visibility on the padawans high above, the top of the mountain disappearing into the clouds. Sevrin stepped back and focused on the Force.

He felt his energies drive into the side of the mountain, finding any dents or ridges along the side of it. Where he found any, he used the Force to draw it out or cave it in to create makeshift protrusions to jump on or grip. He moved up progressively, using the Force to Alter Environment and wield it focused on earth as his element.

“Temper your mind and focus. A Jedi needs only the Force as their toolkit. Nothing more is needed,” Sevrin said with his eyes closed as more protrusions appeared on the side of the mountain.

He opened his eyes after a moment and turned to regard Willa, “I'm experienced in improvising,” He finally answered her question before casually leaping high up in the air. He didn’t stop there, jumping up to the next ledge with the aid of the Force. Sevrin moved with practiced grace, each jump controlled and precise as he quickly made his way up the side of the mountain.

Meanwhile, the two birds would make it clear that this was not a part of any plan. The two padawans would feel weightless as the birds flew down to perch at nests carved into the side of a mountain high above the clouds. The birds attempted to pin the padawans down before screeching as their equally horrific babies squawked for food.

Both birds would attempt to lean in and chomp on the padawans’ heads to try and crack their skulls.

It was a moment Wurfuhlla could never forget. He had laid witness to the Jedi begin to leap from ledge to ledge goin straight towards the top of the mountain. Felix and Crix hopefully could defend themselves for the time being.

The Wookiee turned to Willa and then stated “Well, no time like the present.” And he began jumping forcefully to edge ledge. Every jump was powered by the force. The padawan was ready to save the two lost. It would become a moment he would remember forever.

The further up the mountain the group went, the more he could feel the connection to Felix grow. Wurfuhlla was worried that the lesson still continued so not a word was spoken to Felix through the force. Only his breathing was channeled. The time to bring the Jedi out of harm’s way drew ever closer.

Wurfuhlla had been staying as calm as possible. Taking in deep breath’s and focusing on the force. He knew now was not a time to be getting worked up. Plus Sevrin had told him and Willa both to temper their minds, and to focus. Physical strength is an ally to the Wookiee and now mental strength has to take its place for the sake of his fellow padawans.

Being weightless was nowhere near as fun as it sounded.

He could feel the Force being used somewhere in the distance but he honestly couldn’t say by who or in what way, distracted as he was by the rushing wind and the growing sense that, no, this was not part of the plan. Swallowing down the instinctive stab of fear that came from the thought that this wasn’t planned, he took the time to take as deep a breath as his current predicament allowed before releasing it slowly.

This was not ideal but this wasn’t going to be the end – he knew it.

Sounds of screeching reached his ears over the rushing roar of wing passing him by and suddenly the claws and the wind made sense.

Giant birds.

Kark.

Grunting in pain as he was dropped the short distance onto the nest, Crix groaned a little bit but reached out with the Force. Rather than trying to see or find the rest of the group, he reached out to find Felix.

“Felix – you alright?”

The Force screamed at him and through his rudimentary Force Sight he ‘saw’ something blurring towards him, specifically towards his head. Rolling his head to the right, he grimaced as something heavy and sharp slammed into the nesting to his left, where his head would have been not a second before. Grunting, he prepared himself like a coiled spring, tensing his muscles and the Force around him.

Another blurring above him.

Rolling his whole body to one side, the second peck missed by a slightly wider margin but with more force. The creature’s head didn’t move for a second, its beak slightly stuck, before Crix lashed out with his right foot, kicking the unfortunately hostile creature in the eye.

There was pained screeching… was that good? Probably not but it wasn’t going to immediately try pecking him to death again.

“Felix we need to get the hell out of here!”
he pushed the other Padawan, “Combo illusion – three mes, two yours. You do one to cover our sounds and I’ll do one to cover us visually!”

Reaching out with the Force, Crix abandoned the Force Sight entirely, going entirely blind before pushing his will out into the world with the Force. Rather than a complication illusion, Crix pushed forward the image that there were actually more Padawans – another trio of Crix Arans and another duo of Felix’s.

Give them more to chase while they figure out their escape.

The words of the knight was like a douse of cold water to her chaotic mind. Was she so clueless to forget her former Master's training so easily? She had to think and focus on the next step ahead, and she had to do it carefully. Charging in recklessly would only hurt others in the long run. She trusted in the Force; she would save the Padawans, no matter what.

Hang on, Crix, a dim thought nudged towards him. Even from this distance, she could still Feel him, sense him with all the distance. I'm coming.

She wasn't going to give up, but followed the Knight's example. Her connection to Crix was like a homing beacon, a guide even with the mountain rocks in the way. She took care to find handgrips and footholds where she could, providing help from the Force when she couldn't. She would reach him one way or another, and she had a plan.

Hopefully, she wouldn't be alone by the time she would reach the top. That would only make this plan much more difficult.

Felix grunted as the bird dropped him into it's nest, the bird towering over him, a voice entered his head, Crix's voice, he didn't have time to answer back as he could see it's hear preparing to come to attack.

Placing his palm on the ground he channel the force, through it searching for the roots of a plant, any plant he could before causing it to rapid grow and towards the surface. As the birds beak was coming down upon Felix a group of roots grabbed the beak pulling it of course into the ground beside Felix, more roots came to grab it's feet to hold it place.

With the bird distract with trying to escape the roots, Felix crawl way to safe distance before attempting to stand, his left leg was stain with blood from the claws ripping off part of his robes, wrapping it around his leg to create a rudimentary pressure bandage to help slow the bleeding before he began to limp off shouting out for Crix.
