DESCRIPTION

The JK-II is unique to those other types of fragmentation grenades. The first difference is that the button used to activate it is designed with a fingerprint scanner, allowing for activation by the person whose fingerprint matches the scanner. However, there is a three second delay between activation and pressed button to allow the scanner to read the fingerprint. A built in self-destruct system has been incorporated within the scanner, causing it to explode if used by anyone other than the owner.

The second feature is that it can either be used to detonate quickly or as a timed detonated charge. The latter feature can be utilized by thumbing an activation switch on the side of the grenade. The charge is set off when the time expires, which is roughly five to six seconds. The grenade comes with an anti-handling device which is a protective shield encompassing the entire diameter of the grenade; preventing it from being tampered with. The shell becomes magnetized upon being activated, allowing it to hold onto metal materials.

The grenade, designed by and for Xiang Vang, serves only two real purposes. They are to be used as an explosive device to either breach doors, disable small sized vehicles and ships, or to kill enemies. Heavily fortified doors can negate the grenade's explosive nature but can easily rip through weaker doors. Medium to large class of vehicles and ships, usually because of the more thicker materials used to create them, can also negate the grenade, but it can still scratch surfaces. Enemies wearing armour that is heavy will not be affected by the blast's nature, though they can still feel the wave shock. Medium armour wearing individuals can be harmed, possibly killed, in accordance to where they are in the blast radius. Those wearing light armour will be heavily harmed, with a high success rate if death regardless of where they are within the blast radius. And those wearing no armour will always be killed, if not by the initial explosion but the fragments from the grenade itself.

The second purpose is it serves as a defensive measure against those trying to prevent her from doing her job. Per the rules of the Bounty Hunter's Guild, they will never be used against innocent citizens; meaning they need to be used with extreme caution.

LEGALITY
The JK-II is legal on most worlds, but those with stricter rules on weapons being carried by non-military and security personnel must show cause why they are carrying them. Usually Bounty Hunters associated with the Bounty Hunter's Guild are free from scrutiny, if they can prove they are aligned with the guild.

INTENT
The JK-II grenade was created to aid Xiang Vang in acquiring her acquisitions and defending herself against those preventing it or against other enemies. The main intent is to allow her to reach her walking payment when dealing with enemy body guards, pesky doors, or to disable fleeing ships or vehicles.

ADVANCED TECH
NO.

At a glance, thrown explosives can only have a blast radius of 5 m and they can't inflict any damage beyond that. This is in the tech rules.

And aren't they otherwise just drag grenades only your character can make/use?

I just skimmed and haven't read the whole thing yet, on mobile but that will def need to be fixed.

Archived, since the sole "creator" is long gone and some of the features need review. Any recreation of this type of tech should probably be advanced. If you are using these currently, they can be replaced with normal frag grenades.
