“Energy constantly flows through the crystal. You're not fighting with a simple blade as much as you are directing a current of power. Your thoughts, your actions, they become energy. They flow through the crystal as well and become a part of the blade.”
― Kanan Jarrus, to Sabine Wren
JEDI TRAINING GROUNDS
She’d come across the technique in a footnote to a document that discussed the construction of a lightsaber. The instructions were sketchy but using deductive reasoning, Fiach pieced together a variance of what was no doubt intended and what she saw as useful. What resulted were a series of cadences… a series of lightsaber training techniques that involved manipulating durasteel ball-bearings atop wax candles.
In each of the cadences, the primary practice would be to stand in a circle of candles with the ball bearings and attempt to strike the ball bearings without hitting the candles. As you proceed through each of the cadences, the number of candles would be incrementally increased until the fifth, where you will have achieved such a level that the candles would be unnecessary – as you would simply know when you have performed the sequence correctly.
