LIGHT JEDI ARMOR

Manufactured by the Galactic Alliance and meant to supplement a Jedi’s lightsaber prowess and force abilities, not replace them, this acts is a light armor that can be worn on its own or paired with traditional Jedi Robes. It is not a heavy armor meant to take substantial damage. Rather, Jedi wearing this armor are expected to avoid hits to their person whenever possible. It typically comes in grey, but the user is always more than free to dye it any color they choose.

LEGALITY

A light armor such as this, typically made out of standard materials (save where individuals have made their own personal upgrades) is not illegal anywhere.

INTENT

This acts as a light armor for the Jedi of the Galactic Alliance, though it by no means is exclusive to them. Practical and light, many life forms in the Galaxy would no doubt find this armor to be useful. It is particularly useful to Jedi as it is built to allow its user to move freely and quickly, utilizing and not hindering a Jedi’s agility.

Hey there. You'll have to use the armor template here. In the spoiler you'd find the code and then you just fill the template out from there. (leave out the functions as a force user) You can look through some of the other armors and see how they do it. Here is the baseline Sith armor, for example as what a armor write-up should look like.

Also be sure to keep in mind the tech rules for armor as well.

Thank you! Would it be alright if I used Armor already archived on the site instead of making my own?

Not any in the archives, but here is a link to generic armors you can use anything there that's not a character's personal armor, is non-advanced, and isn't in the wrong faction.

You can reuse the image from an archived armor writeup, but it needs to be in a new submission. Can't use archived writeups themselves. Either an existing approved and free to use one, or one you post on your own specifically for this character.

@llamallove you edit the original post when you have changes you want to cement. It doesn't help to repost in a comment.

Make sure you follow the tech rules as well as the generic tech rules. That includes abiding by the tech templates. Each of those links will take you to the respective sticky. Stickies are located at the top of the appropriate sub forums for ease of access.

Okay, I edited the original post, and I think I correctly followed the tech template for armor (ignoring function as a Jedi). Thank you for your help! :)

take another look.

Sith marauder armor is a good example of what a force-sensitive's armor writeup should look like.

Hey, I’m sorry... I’m sure I’m taking up way too much of your time by now. I’m sorry for the confusion, but I guess I just don’t understand what it’s missing. I’ve looked through the rules and followed the Sith Marauder Template, but I guess I’m still overlooking something. Would you mind just spelling out the mistakes I’ve made and what I need to change?

The best thing to do is select the code from the template and place it into a player workshop thread. That way the contents of what you have already posted is not lost and you have to start from scratch. It's a matter of coding since you look to be missing some parts. I would say since you're a fairly new member it's no surprise that the bbcode is a bit alien which is fine. But we generally advise new members to not create technology. There is a plethora of existing technology submissions that can just be used by linking them in your character profile or IC posts. The coding might take some time to get used to so it's fine to not make a personal armor submission until you have a handle on that. Play around with the coding in player workshops until your confident that it is what is appropriate for submission and to your own liking.

Hey, there! So I did as you suggested and copied the code template to a workshop thread and edited there. I’ve transferred it to up top here. Does that look correct? Thanks SO much for all your help!

Looks good all except for the image part. That pinterest url link you'll want to put in the first fancybox bracket after the = and replace the url that is currently there. That way it will come up as an actual picture in the top right like how the marauder armor has a picture.

Thanks! I’ve replaced the link after the fancy box, but when I save it doesn’t show up.

I noticed before it was highlighted like one of my previous links as white text. If that is the case you want to select broken chain icon if you are using Rich Text Editor. It should appear grey like the rest of the code if that is the case.

When I quoted your code to check I noticed that it is still the link from before and not the pinterest link you had previously posted anyways.

Eureka! I think I finally got it! Thanks to you!!!
