Open Tatooine Jan's Undoing

[Aya Willing]

"A Sith champion" She muttered, the words felt wrong off her lips.
Her little brother- A Sith Champion.
It felt so wrong.
In this moment, she could either be their mother or little Aya, scolding or the scolded.
Not that Jan would scold her, but that she would scold herself.
Stupid little Aya.
It should've been her.
Now, her innocent, sweet little brother was her enemy.
A Jedi and a Sith.
"Jan," Aya said cautiously "You won't kill me- will you? I- I mean, it's not something I can imagine you doing, but you are a Sith, and I am a Jedi it would just- be-" She slumped to the floor, her hands pressed onto her face.
She'd seen Jan, everything should be right again, but now everything was wrong.

Jan said nothing to her first comment. His big sister seemed so small as she sank down against the wall to the floor. "I won't kill you," he said softly, already doubting himself. If his higher ups gave the order, would he kill his big sister? Would he risk punishment or execution if he disobeyed orders? "I don't have orders to kill you," he added, subtly changing his sentence.

"I am not your enemy. Your master wouldn't have brought me here if I were," he added. He knew her so well even now he could still practically read her mind.

[Aya Willing]

Aya had to stop herself from sighing in relief. Jan was still a Sith, and even if he didn't want to, his master could still give him orders to kill her.
And when the time came, would she have to kill him?
She shoved those painful thoughts aside.
There was no way she could kill him.
"Did my master tell you why he brought you here?" Sweat beaded her forehead.
She closed her eyes and pressed her hands onto her face again to hide pure terror.
If her theory really was true, her master wasn't who she thought he was.

Jan shook his head at her question, ignoring her inner turmoil that presented itself on her face and in her shaking hands. "No," he said shortly. He had been wondering the same thing. What did a Jedi Master want with two incompetent children?

[Aya Willing]

Aya laughed humorlessly and got up.
"I actually thought you were dead." She wiped her cheeks, but it didn't help her red, puffy face "Did you know I was still alive, Jan?"
Her voice shook slightly; although she still had a certain point of control over herself, she was nearing hyteria.
The door creaked open, and her master's face peeked out.
"Everything alright?" He asked "I could feel your stress, Aya, all the way from downstairs! Control yourself! Jan,on the other hand..."
He eyed Jan, confused.

Jan didn't get a chance to reply to Aya's question, and he was partly relieved. Aya's master opened the door and commented on Jan's lack of stress present in the Force and Jan found it slightly amusing. Weren't Jedi supposed to be in control of their emotions, fighting the Sith who they said drew power from their passions? Jan said nothing to either his sister or her master.

Aya groaned "Seriously? Jan's the Sith here, master!" She looked away from Jan's amused face.
"And yet he has better control of his emotions, Aya." He pointed out.

Once more, Aya's master was their mother scolding Aya, and Jan was puffing his chest (figuratively, in this case). Jan still kept silent, his face in a slightly amused expression. It was the first time in months that his expression had been anything but a frown, and his face felt tight.

She wasn't upset or angry with Jan or her master.
It was at the cruel, unforgiving galaxy.
She knew she could control her emotions, if Jan could do it, then she definitely could.
She just had to reach out and-
"Ugh" She groaned, realizing she hadn't been breathing.
She gasped for air and started to cough.
Her master sighed.
