PERSONALITY

Somewhere between fighting in gladiator pits and becoming a Mandalorian, Jado unfortunately developed an undiagnosed personality disorder. Throughout his short life, Rhyys has not known much peace which has led to a paranoid and fearful personality. No matter how relaxed he may be, he is always watching his back for the next life-threatening dilemma to sweep him away, sometimes even in the midst of coitus. Despite this paranoia, Rhyys can be a charming or seductive person when able to relax enough. As Rhyys, he is much more agreeable, preferring to avoid confrontation and make friends wherever possible. Over all things, Rhyys values security (including financial) and tends to make decisions that prioritize his safety. His attitudes lean towards extremes - both high and low - which sometimes lead to manic decision-making.

Once the helmet comes on, Rhyys is lost to the world and Jado Veren involuntarily assumes control. As Jado, he is a calm and vigilante warrior; an imposing figure. He radiates confidence - sometimes to the point of arrogance - and shows little respect to people who are not proven fighters. Jado is firm in his beliefs and not willing to concede losses for anything, no matter how small. If he has set his sights on it, it will be his; especially through warfare. Despite his fervor for violence, Jado is not especially reckless and has a patient mind for tactics. Due to his stubborn nature though, Jado can be hard to get along with but tends to be an inspiring leader.

APPEARANCE

Like most Pantorans, Rhyys has aqua-blue skin with piercing yellow eyes and a full head of messy black hair. Thanks to handsome parents, Rhyys was blessed with high cheek bones, a thin nose, full lips, and a sharp jaw line lightly shaded with facial hair; considered traditionally attractive to most humans and near-humans. He's of fairly average height and weight for someone of his kind. He has a lean, muscular build and is frequently training his body to maintain this physique. Having been raised as a slave, his back and arms are thoroughly covered in scars, not to mention a burned-in brand on his right shoulder blade.

BIOGRAPHY
Although born on the beautiful planet Zygerria, the pleasantries soon ended for the young Pantoran named Rhyys Kresh, who was born into slavery to parents he would never know. As a baby, he was largely raised by medical droids in the employ of his owners, along with the occasional sentient contact from other slaves who were working as servants or caretakers. Much of his youthful curiosity was instead wasted staring at the sky or the rusted interior of a metal crate with some rags in the bottom for cushioning. Once he was old enough to hold tools and know what to do with them, Rhyys was sold to another owner and carted off to Ord Trasi.

The shipyards of Ord Trasi would probably be Rhyys's favorite assignment as a slave. Though the workdays were tedious and long, they were by far the easiest workdays Rhyys would have as a slave. He would spend 10-14 hour days laying across the titanium plates of starship hulls, tightening and welding things into place. Unfortunately, due to the unskilled nature of his position as a slave, Rhyys wouldn't acquire many skills here beyond how to handle standard tools. Though his performance was relatively median, he was soon randomly chosen on a manager's list and resold to one of the Kessel coaxium mines.

Rhyys trudged through the dangerous and unhealthy work of coaxium mining on Kessel for several years, which took a toll on his long-term health and developed a chronic cough that he would battle for several more years. The work conditions were harsh and there was minimal protection provided against the raw coaxium, notwithstanding the explosive safeguards. Rhyys developed a small fear against Geonosians and similar insectoid races due to the particularly cruel treatment of a Geonosian foreman. During a business exchange, Rhyys's blue skin was distinguished by a slaver working for the Hutts, and with little negotiation, he was on his way to Nal Hutta, suddenly bathed and scantily clad in leathers and chains.

Rhyys would come to appreciate his lack of clothing once he arrived to Nal Hutta, as the heat and humidity was unlike anything he'd ever experienced. In a castle on the swampy planet, he would come to work as a servant to Nor'baal Desilijic Fa'athra, a dangerous gangster as many Hutts were. Most of his "work" for this Hutt was to serve as eye candy since he was attractive and had somewhat exotic skin and eyes. He would be used to impress visitors or serve them refreshments, but his time on Nal Hutta was short lived. When his handler attempted to drug and rape him, Rhyys let go of all inhibition and blacked out, regaining consciousness on top of his handler's dead and bloody body with a hooked knife in his hand. It was in this position that his Hutt owner found him, though it did not earn the violence he expected. Instead, Nor'baal found humor in the slave's actions.

Still feeling the need for punishment so this slave wouldn't step out of place, the Hutt sold him cheaply to the coaxium refinery on Savareen. Still weak from his previous work with coaxium, Rhyys fell behind on all of his duties, often huddled over in a coughing fit. Without use for a slave that doesn't work, he was ousted to the harshest, least civilized world he would see yet: Rattatak. The gladiator pits didn't care of any illness or handicaps a slave had. If they could move and hold a weapon, they would be able to entertain just fine. There were many slaves so thankfully Rhyys didn't have to fight too often. In the beginning, his fights were much like his actions on Nal Hutta: a terrified blackout leading to unlikely victory. But over time, as he became tempered in the battles of the pits, he became more able and willing to defend himself, willingly albeit untrained. It was on a fateful transit between the pits of Rattatak that their small caravan was struck by an unexpected gunboat. After a brief shootout with the slavers, the armored figures stepped out of their ship in T-visored helmets and broke their chains, allowing them onto their gunboat if so desired. Desperate to escape the harsh planet, Rhyys was among the slaves who were brought back to Mandalore.

Though Mandalore was every bit inhospitable as Rattatak, the treatment of the Clan Veren warriors that had brought him here was much better than he ever would have expected. It was made clear to him that he was no longer a slave, and that in order to thrive among their people he would have to become warriors like them. Tired of being afraid, Rhyys agreed and was inducted into Clan Veren as a foundling, now under his true name, Jado Veren. The Mandalorians were by no means easy on Jado, but they treated him with respect and he retained the freedom to make his own choices. Once finished with his basic training and tutelage on Mandalorian history and culture, he was granted the rank of Vod, having the skills needed to make his way through the wider galaxy as a Mandalorian.

Though free to make his own name, Jado, ever grateful for his freedom, has devoted his life to furthering the Mandalorian conquest, especially for the benefit of Clan Veren. Along his path, he's achieved a few minor victories, helping him earn the rank of Warrior. Among his feats were raiding an old Imperial facility that was suspected of housing beskar. Though most of the bunker had been cleared out, there was a small cache of beskar that was taken back to Mandalore for the foundlings. There were a handful of bounties completed here and there, but only on minor criminals. Having an especially strong hatred for slavers, one of his missions took him to another Outer Rim territory where slavers had tried to enslave a peaceful commune, only to bring death and destruction to it instead. Though the group Jado was with was too late to prevent the undue death, the Veren warriors did manage to exact revenge on their behalf, shooting down their ship while still in atmosphere. Among the wreckage of the commune, Jado found a young, woman on the brink of death and had her brought back to Mandalore as he once was. The young woman, Genova Veren, would become one of Jado's closest and most trusted friends. Now a Mandalorian Warrior in his own right, Jado has his sights set on further conquest for the Mandalorian people, keen on the rank of Rallymaster and, maybe someday…Alor.

ATTRIBUTES

Jado has slightly above-average Strength, training daily with calisthenics while wearing his Mandalorian armor to keep a functional muscle mass for engaging in regular battle. He is exceptionally Dexterous, possessing swift reflexes and fine motor skills to allow him to aim with precision, deftly operate machinery, and react to changing situations with relative comfort. Having not only survived slavery and gladiator pits but adapted to thrive, Jado has a fairly high Constitution. He has a high pain tolerance and rarely gets sick. Lacking any formal education, Jado is somewhat lacking in the Intelligence department. Most of his knowledge revolves around warfare, though he does speak a few languages. Due to an unfortunate mental illness, Jado's Wisdom is somewhat lower since he is not reliably insightful or perceptive. Like a living weapon, Jado prefers to be pointed in a direction and unleashed. Despite any other mental shortcomings, Jado is a Charismatic individual and has a strong force of personality. Whether he is unmasked as Rhyys and charming his way into a bedchamber for the night or fully-armored and imposing, his appearance is sure to make an impression.

SKILLS
Thanks to a vast amount of travel throughout the galaxy, both as a slave and as a free Mandalorian, Jado has had the opportunity to learn an ear for several languages. Jado is fluent in Galactic Basic, Durese, Huttese, and Mando'a. He's somewhat conversational in Twi'leki, and can understand (but not speak) Binary, Dosh, Rodese, and Sullustese. Between his gladiator experience and his Mandalorian training, Jado is well prepared for warfare in all of its forms. Though he is most fond of pistols and rifles, he knows his way around melee weapons, mixed martial arts, and explosives too. If the skillset is useful for direct combat, Jado probably has some experience with it. He tends to have tunnel vision when it comes to further education.
