Hergalor was a proud Ithorian. While a part of the scattered Ithorian diaspora, he worked tirelessly to maintain his understanding of the language, politics of the planet, and still cultivated a personal spiritual relationship to the Mother Jungle. His singular social policy was to advocate for Ithorian and other non-human language classes on Taanab, in part, so his daughters would know themselves as Ithorians as well as Taanabians. He always, quietly, hoped his daughters would walk a different path then him - that they would become renowned conservationists, botanists, teachers, healers...paths different than the dark road their father walked.

His mind drifted to such topics throughout his journey to Ithor. As the war between FWA and Sith Empire dragged on, Prime Minister Belasi begun to advocate for greater defensive steps from the disparate worlds, with a goal of ending the war. This mission took Hergalor to the farthest edges of FWA space - to his own people's homeworld - to negotiate with three planets and find a common cause. This would not be an easy task: The worlds of Ithor, Er'Kit, and Phaeda each had radically different problems and radically different philosophies on how to solve them. Hergalor was unsure if he alone could negotiate Taanabian peace with any of them - in fact, peace was not his primary aim. As Taanab sold to both Sith and Senate alike, in some ways, the conflict kept a supply of hungry mouths flowing towards Taanabian goods. No, Hergalor had...personal interests today, outside of just negotiating what would likely be a worthless peace treaty.

To balance his exceedingly selfish interests, Hergalor would be joined by two of the FWA's finest: Senators Phineas Hawthorne of Ord Mantrell and Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl of Kashyyk. The three would have to balance each others energies to successfully negotiate with the diplomats of the three worlds: Ithor, peaceful and serene. Er'kit, ever beset by slavers and crime. Phaeda, a planet so insignificant that they considered joining the Empire to raise their own status. Hergalor could only hope that the emotional impulses of his colleagues could give way to actual diplomacy today. But either way, a trip home would be nice.

Hergalor's personal shuttle touched down in one of the many headships that floated above the untouched jungles of Ithor. He had arrived early, to take in the sights and pay respects to the Mother Jungle in private once more. However, the clock marched on, and it quickly became the moment when his colleagues would arrive. With a sigh, he headed towards a tall, silver spire - an administrative office where negotiations were set to take place. For once, he did not wear his bulky translator - today, he could speak his native tongue on his native world. He hoped his colleagues would have translators of their own.

He hoped they wouldn't fuck this up for him.

Ithor. An lush, undisturbed world with beautiful fauna that lacked any of the dangers of Kashyyyk; if Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl had been her for anything other than business, he'd have enjoyed the serenity of the planet. Today, however, he was here on business, and faced the surprisingly difficult task of convincing a small delegation of very unique planets to agree that it was worth it to stand up against the Sith.

At least he wasn't alone in his quest. Also joining him would be Senators Hergalor and Hawthorne, both of the Free Worlds Alliance. It was, the Wookiee admitted, a shrewd pairing. Hergalor's status as an Ithorian would be invaluable in navigating the political scene on his homeworld, while Hawthorne's passionate words might fall favorably upon the ears of the delegation from Er'kit. As for himself... Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl was ready to remind the Pheadans of the benefits of the Free World's Alliance.

With T-8R programmed to ensure that he could communicate with all parties present, Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl walked slowly towards the tall, sliver spire that was the location of the meeting today. Although his 400+ years weighed on him, so too did the knowledge of the importance of this mission; today's outcome would certainly set a precedent- good or bad- for other similar defensive pacts around the FWA.

Success meant that a ringing message would be sent to the rest of the galaxy that the Free World's Alliance would take appropriate measures to defend itself against the Sith. Failure would only confirm the widely-held belief that the FWA was too disjointed to respond adequately to the changing tides of the galaxy.

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl hoped they didn't fuck this up.

Phineas was surprised when he was asked to take on a pretty substantial endeavor with two of his most esteemed political role models. Senator Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl and Senator Hergalor were mighty with their words, and it was Phineas' words that had almost raptured and graciously saved his mistakes made in the last senate meeting.

This time was going to be different! This time there would be no apologetic public announcements directed to anyone!

Thanks to the help of his godfather and big-time CEO of a big time trade corporate, Stayssi Vox, the Senator of Ord Mantell was a new man. He wore clothing that was the perfect mix of 'Princely' and 'Subtle', while he also put on some more weight with some well toned muscles (which was mainly for a very secret operation he planned with the infamous Zaa Fenn Crime family) and even grew a few inches. The 'kid' was growing into a 'Man' of regal stature- even the people back home began calling him the Prince of Ord Mantell which Phineas modestly deemed inappropriate, but the phrase still lingered over the Holonet.

This whole endeavor would be a huge brick that would soon stack up to reach Hawthorne's redemption from his last politcal ploy and he was extremely excited to be alongside the legendary Wookiee Senator and the equally immaculate Ithorian Senator.

But, deep in his subconscious, Phineas was hoping the Force would spare him from potentially fucking this up.

The trio would enter into an Ithorian conference room. It was green, sleek, and designed to evoke feelings of peace and comfort. Such were the standards of Ithor.

However, they would notice a problem rather quickly. The Ithorian sitting across the table, a diplomat named Oko Theed, seemed to recognize. And that recognition...seemed unpleasant. "<Hergalor togTherador. The sellout. The traitor! A corporate lapdog, brought here to beg.>" Hergalor brought his fingers to the middle of his skull, feeling a piercing headache about to emerge. Of course it was Oko Theed, the staunch traditionalist. While many considers him a spiritual leader, Hergalor thought that he was nothing more than a heaping sack of...

"<Dearest friend, Mister Theed! Blessings of the Mother Jungle upon you.>" He said, in Ithorian. He had already committed a faux pas with his partner in conversation by simply existing, leaving his allies to suffer the weight of Hergalor's past. Such unfortunate circumstances like this - the damned reputation of one senator in the eyes of another - made cross-planet alliances so rare within the Free Worlds Alliance.

The Er'Kit and Phaedan representatives were yet to arrive. "While we wait, perhaps my fellow Senators Hawthorne and Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl can help us set the agenda?" He looked to his fellows expectantly, looking for them to dig him out of the hole he had dug.

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl didn't have to wait long for Hergalor to fuck things up.

Far from being welcomed on his home planet, the Ithorian appeared to have some rather bad PR here. Maybe one day before he retired, Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl would have a straightforward, simple mission... but today would not be that day, judging by the reaction of Oko Theed. T-8R faithfully translated the lopsided exchange into a small earpiece the Wookiee wore, and Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl had to suppress a groan of dismay. What's worse was that the accusations leveled at his fellow Free World's Alliance Senator might even carry some weight to them, if the rumors about Hergalor were true. The Senator from Kashyyyk privately wondered if the Ithorian had another agenda at play here today.

At least Oko spoke his mind- a trait Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl admired. Theed likely played with all his cards face up on the table, which would take away the guesswork of any objections that he might have. Honesty was an increasingly rare trait among politicians, and was one to be valued- and perhaps taken advantage of- whenever it appeared.

"Mr. Theed" the Wookiee rumbled, shifting his Wroshyr staff to his left hand in order to deliver a polite but firm handshake with his right. "Blessings of the Mother Jungle upon you" he greeted the Ithorian via T-8R in the traditional way. "Let past grievances stay in the past; our proposal here today can write a new chapter of prosperity and security for Ithor, and you will certainly find it beneficial to work with Senator Hergalor on this issue."

His overture extended, the Wookiee looked to his right where Senator Hawthorne was standing. Don't you fuck this up, too he thought to himself.

Contrary to what Phineas thought of how Hergalor would be welcomed to his people's home planet, the Senator of Tanaab had quite an interesting welcoming party. This wasn't a good start. The official meeting hadn't even started yet and already the Ithorians were pulling away from the Free World's Alliance. The trio were going to need one hell of a comeback if this was to move forward at all.

Then, Phineas felt the eyes of the Senator of Kashyyyk on him and his subtle glare made Senator Hawthorne roll his eyes behind his aviator shades.
Thank you for your gracious vote of confidence, you mangy rug. The Senator thought, but only his charming smile and eased mannerism could be seen.

Doffing the aviators to put them away, Phineas used his free hand to shake his host's,
"It is a pleasure to finally be acquainted with you, Mister Theed. And may the Mother Jungle's blessings be upon you." The Senator began, praying to literally any god that would spare him the misery of potentially fucking this up. "I believe we have very important matters to attend to, so let's get this started before we rip each other's arms off, alright?" Phineas nudged the Wookiee with his elbow before moving forward to stand next to Oko Theed, leading him up to wherever their political gathering would take place.

"What marvelous attire, Mister Theed! How did you come across those fabrics? Perhaps if you're interested, we could make a visit to Ord Mantell one day and I could show you to some of the most magnificent wardrobes in the galaxy- but I'm afraid nothing there amounts to what you're wearing today. I think I'll have to look into your style here, while I'm at it." One of Phineas' gifts was appearing genuine, much like most other politicians, but the way he carried his words made it sound as if there was no planned agenda the Senator had in mind behind his flattery. There neat looking gowns and robes were also a basic interest the Senator had. Maybe he could have Vox Mechanica make some Ithorian styled bathrobes or night gowns- they looked so comfortable!

Besides, Phineas would've rather made a friend than an enemy, and Oko Theed was better as a friend. Ithorians were such an interesting species as it was- and Phineas wanted to project that interest through his words. And as far as agendas went, there was only the two Phineas had prepared for; the Sith and the Syndicates. Both needed to be stopped and if there was a chance that Ithor could be spared of both of the dually tyrannical organizations, then Phineas was one step closer to avenging his mother and his father figure.

Mister Theed nodded at the other two fellows, as the Er'Kit and Phaedan representatives sauntered in. The Er'Kit took a position opposite Phineas, while the Phaedan, a Trandoshan cloaked in an extravagant fur coat, sat opposite Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl. The Er'Kit took the first opportunity to speak, flashing a gold tooth as he did so. "Enough of the waiting. Boonta Boonta does not wait!" He slammed a tiny fist onto the table, shaking the stability of it.

"My sincerest apologies for the delay, your eminence, Boonta Boonta." Hergalor responded. Nevermind the fact that it was Boonta Boonta who was late - no, no need to talk about that. Mother Jungle, at least everyone was going to have as much fun as he would. "We have come to discuss your defensive needs, and solicit your opinions on the-"

"You are here to peddle your conflict! Ithor will have no part in this. As much as it pains me to leave the Jedi at the mercy of those heinous Sith, Ithor must remain peaceful. We must be pacifistic. Or have you totally forgotten your teachings, Hergalor?" Hergalor sighed, internally, as Theed took a pot shot at him.

"Mister Theed, respectfully, I must finish my sentences before you object to them. No, I merely solicit opinions today. How do you three feel about your relationship with the growing Sith Empire?"

He turned his head to Senator Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl. "Surely, our Kashyyykian Colleague can regale us with his people's experience under Sith rule. I am sure this resource-starved Empire intends to respect your avowed pacifism, Mister The."

He nodded back to Senator Hawthorne, too. "How about you, Senator Hawthorne? How do you feel about the Sith Empire's unrelenting expansion into Free Worlds territory?"

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl was beginning to regret taking this assignment as the personalities in the room were revealed to be as colorful as the Wookiee's internal monologue. Perhaps for the first time, he began to understand the enormous task it was to get the whole of the Free World's Alliance to agree on anything. The Senator from Kashyyyk vowed to himself right then and there to never seek the office of Prime Minister of the FWA.

His increasing desire to get straight to the point made Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl decline an open invitation to elaborate on his people's sufferings at the hands of the Empire. Perhaps it was the impertinence of the Boonta Boonta, but suddenly Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl wanted nothing more than to wrap up this meeting and go home. Judging that the point had been made by Hergalor, the Wookiee decided to try and cut to the chase; starting with Oko Theed.

"There are some in the Free World's Alliance who wish to go on the offensive against the Sith" he rumbled, refusing to admit which side of the issue he was on- "but our meeting today has the goal of preventing the war from spreading to any of your homes. The Sith strike at will because right now, they fight a series of individual planets; a defensive pact between Ithor, Er'Kit, and Pheada can help keep the peace by dissuading their aggression. There are also other benefits to be gained from a tighter relationship between your planets." he said, looking over at Phineas Hawthorne to continue the sales pitch. Hopefully the man was done gushing over boring things like fashion.

Phineas wasn't quite so sure the mildly inappropriate comment about Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl's people would be the best way to start this meeting off. Or maybe it was a test to see if the Wookiee could handle his anger issues and continue to be professional. Whatever the Boonta's ploy was, it didn't work. The Senator of Kashyyyk did a wonderful job of explaining why they were here to speak. So, now if was Senator Hawthorne's job to speak about how to go about keeping what little peace remained throughout the galaxy.

"Well said, Senator," Phineas began. "With a defensive pact among your planets, it would help assure the entire galaxy that the Free World's can actually agree on something as well." This earned a few snickers, but wasn't merely a simple joke. "If others look at what you can accomplish from working together, it will greatly help unite systems all over the FWA. Especially with how close you are to Sith territory, the time to act would be now. The beauty of the Free World's Alliance is that each planet governs themselves as they see fit, and we are not going to force any one of you to conform to a policy that doesn't suit your planet's needs. Think of it as a fancy set of suits. Each different and unique, but we're all wearing the same tie pin."

Hopefully that wasn't too abrupt and made enough sense for the others with them to agree to proceed. There was the question of Senator Hawthorne's opinion on the Sith, which wasn't going to be hard to answer.

"We've all seen what the Sith Empire is capable of, and, well, it's a little terrifying. However, I think I would be a little more relieved if I know I had backup if the Sith ever came to my doorway. Not every battle can be won by ourselves. That's how the rebellion defeated the Empire and the Resistance with the First Order. It wasn't an elite military group...it was just...people. People fighting for liberty, love, and freedom."
