It had only been a few hours since her ship landed in the Jedi temple. She felt as thought she was ready to face her destiny; to become a Jedi. She had Fang with her, the man who'd saved her life and who'd helped her realize a power she had locked away. He also helped her discover that it may have not have been a Jedi from her past that she was so angry with, but perhaps an imposter. Either or, she would find that person and reveal him for who he really was in front of everyone he knew. Then she'd continue on her own path as she did before.

She stepped off the boarding ramp and stood to the side. Lyndis was nervous, yes, but she was confident. She wanted to embrace this path. She wanted to be a Jedi. She may have been skeptical at first, but she was certain now. And this time, there was no going back. She would earn her lightsaber and her place in the Order.

Fang stepped off the ship after Lyndis into the Hanger of the temple, it was not the grandest sight, certainly not as grand as when one entered the temple through the front gates, where one could see the life of the temple almost all at once. Here though, the room was lined with ships, mostly transports, droids and mechanics scuttered about the hanger, mostly doing routine checkups and minor repairs, tools and tool benches were everywhere, but would all be put back in their rightful place by days end.

Fang walked with Lyndis to the turbolift, and entered. moments after entering it the lift reopened again, to the second floor main hall of the temple. Welcome to the temple, your new home.Fang said to her, letting her step out and observe what she would, for there was much to see in the main hall of the temple.

"My new home..." Lyndis said more to herself than anyone. She looked around, taking in the sight of droids doing their daily programmed tasks along side Jedi who resided in the temple. She watched them as they lifted massive objects using their telekinetic powers, making mere child's play out of what would take a normal person days to accomplish. For some reason, seeing these Jedi gave her a different feeling than what the man she had run into so long ago felt like. These people were warm, caring, and peaceful. She couldn't help but feel as though this would soon change. She had a bad feeling that they would soon have to be on the run, something she was all too familiar with. But at least she could help other Jedi get to safety if something did happen.

"Where to we begin?" She asked, turning to Fang. She was ready to train, to learn, to adapt to her abilities.

Fang smiled as Lyndis looked around at her surroundings, while she did so, Fang walked off to the side a bit and picked up a temple datapad and began to punch some things in. after a minute, she was a registered member of the Jedi order. Fang put the datapad down and then walked back over to Lyndis with a smile on his face.

"Where do we begin?" she asked. Anywhere you want, You are a member of the New Jedi Order. Fang said and then paused. Of course, technically a master has to approve, but I have decided to take you as my padawan which technically exempts us from haveing to wait, should you accept me as your master. Fang explained as he looked over the balcony at his fellow Jedi milling about. on the floor below some padawans were sparring with training sabers, other Jedi were floating in place, meditating.

"Of course I accept," Lyndis said. She rattled her mind on what would be most beneficial for her to learn starting off until she settled on learning more powers that she could use. "I suppose the best place to start would be with the force and the abilities it grants a Jedi," she said. She looked around, watching as the other Jedi were using the force to perform their daily tasks. It then hit her how much stronger those without the force are compared to a Jedi. Strip a Jedi of the force and their unique abilities, and you're left with a person who has barely any survival skills beyond the basics. The Jedi truly were dependent on the force, and she would have to learn to be as well. The force would be her crutch, more-so than her lightsaber.

She then remembered about her lightsaber; it was red. It was the color of the Sith. She would have to change that once she was able to use it. But that would have to wait. For now, she wanted to hone her abilities. She assumed she started her force adeptivity in a much different way than others; using telepathy. She had heard stories; how Jedi discover their power through lifting objects with their minds or having a burst of telekinetic power that destroys everything around them. She imagined this meant she would focus more on intellect than on combat prowess, which didn't bother her one bit.

Fang smiled at her acceptance, and then again at her desicion of where to start, it was a broad topic so Fang would be able to cover just about whatever he wanted to. The Force is an energy that connects all life in the universe. Fang stated simply, and with that there are nearly limtless abilities that the Force could grant a Jedi, from telekenisis and telepathy, to shooting fire from your fingertips, to being able maintain your body heat without clothes in a enviroment like that of Hoth, but all of these abilities require discipline, and present their own challenges. Fang continued, One of the largest problems a Jedi can face besides the temptation of the darkside, is letting either their lightsaber or their abilities of the force become a crutch, Fang paused for a moment, because while the likely hood of it happening is low, their are those out there who have the potential to cut one off from the force entirely Fang finished, and waited for any questions Lyndis might have before he moved on.

"One can have their connection severed by another person?... That just sounds... Wrong. Even for a Sith, I don't think anyone should go through that," she said. She looked down for a moment to ponder, giving serious thought into what she wanted to learn first. Then something popped into her head, something that she had wanted to do for a long while and saw many great uses for; elemental control. Power over water, fire, wind, earth, air, and any other elements out there. She guessed if she was going to learn anything extravagent, she would start there. However, she also imagined those powers were fairly advanced. She decided to settle with the first step to getting to that point; telekinesis.

"I want to learn how to use telekinesis," she said, final in her decision.

"I want to learn how to use telekinesis," Lyndis said after what looked like much thought, Fang smiled.
An excellent place to start he said, he turned and waved for her to follow him. Fang led her through several halls until they arrived in a training room, with several objects of all different sizes in the room, from small pebbles to what could be considered giant boulders. Fang motioned for her to sit anywhere she pleased on the floor, after she did so, Fang spoke.

In order to use any force power, you must connect yourself to the force he began, Close your eyes, and reach out with the force, feel the life of the temple, and that of the planet, all of the beings together living, breathing, feel the web of the force that connects them all. He paused and waited for several long moments, giving her time to connect. Now when your ready feel an object within the room and will it, to move in the direction desired, visualize it. Fang instructed calmly.

Lyndis listened and obeyed, taking a seat in the middle of the room and closed her eyes. She forgot about all the stress and warring and hiding that was going on all around her and let her body fade. All of the sudden, she could physically feel the room around her, as if she and the room were the same thing. She searched around, using her senses to detect each of the objects in the room, mapping out the surrounding area through the force. Then the true wave of energy hit her.

It was like a heart beat. In the darkness of her mind, she could see a swirling vortex of blue energy, glowing and pulsating. It swirled slowly, as if it were suspended in space. Then, the glowing vortex began to shift in color from blue, to purple, and then to red. The areas in the center of the light began to darken until the core was black. It was an abyss that was glowing red in color. She could feel herself getting drawn to it, the power surging and hitting her in waves. It felt good.

Each waves gave her body a boost that she would never experience from anything else, a high almost. It was power; raw, untamed power and it was just flowing into her. She couldn't deny it, she couldn't wish it away, it felt too damned good! It was intense and empowering, like being able to lift ten times your own weight with ease. She had never felt so strong in her life.

Her eyes shot open, seeing the boulders and pebbles around her. In an instant, each one began to lift slowly off the ground. waves of energy were rippling from Lyndis' body so much so, that they became visible to the naked eye. Reality and light around everything became distorted, as if there were heat waves coming off the ground. But to her disadvantage, not but a few moments later, the red anti-vortex in her mind quickly changed back to blue and everything but one small pebble crashed back to the ground. She closed her eyes once again to sustain it, the pebble suddenly weighing a million kilos. She could feel herself through the force lifting the pebble, but it took all her strength. After a few moments, it fell back to the ground.

Panting heavily, she stood back up, almost falling over from exhaustion. "*pant* *pant* What was *pant* that? *pant*" She asked between breaths.

Fang felt it as Lyndis reached out and connected to the Force around her and smiled, but that smile did not last long, quickly Fang began to feel her aura change to one or darkness, Fangs face quickly turned to a stern and serious frown, and instinctivly, one nhand went to a lightsaber on his hip, Fangs expression grew more stern as he felt her aura grow continually darker as though she was embracing it. her eyes opened, and the energy could be seen with the naked eye pulsating from her body and each of the stones in the room simoltaniously lifted off the ground. It shouldent of been possible, for one so newly awakened to the force, especially in the temple, to sense the darkness so easily, it meant that either she was much more powerfull and sensitive than Fang initially predicted, or that something very dark was on the rising tide.

But just as suddenly as it had happened, it stopped, all of the pebbles but one crashed to the ground, and Lyndis' aura returned to normal, as did her energy levels, and moments later, the last pebble fell to the ground too. Fang removed his hand from his lightsaber and breathed a small sigh of relief. "*pant* *pant* What was *pant* that? *pant*" She asked. Fang shook his head and after a moment he spoke. I did not think you would feel it so soon. He said ominously. That, was the temptation or the dark side of the force. It seems we may need to discipline your mind before you are ready to try any technique if it found you so easily. Fang said with a hint of dissapointment, his face still serious, he was not dissapointed in her, quite the contrary, though it had been for but a few seconds she had managed to use telekenisis on her very first attempt with next to no understanding of the force, not something many jedi could boast, he was dissapointed because it meant taht they would have to spend time in meditation disciplining her mind, wheich he did not think was something Lyndis would appreciate as much as some other Jedi.

After collecting her breath, Lyndis stood up straight, listening to what her master had to say. "I think you're right," she said, quickly analyzing her mind and the conflicting emotions and thoughts swarming in it. Perhaps it would be best to expunge all emotion while she was training, just to make sure she didn't fall to the dark side and become something she didn't want to be.

"Where do we begin?" She asked.

Fang thought for a moment, and then spoke, Close your eyes again, and think. Think of your goal within the Jedi order, find a purpose greater than yourself to dedicate to and embrace it. put aside all personal feelings as you begin to connect yourself to the force, dont use it for anything, but just connect yourself to it and feel its cosmic energy flow through you. Fang said. that was probably the best he could give her, the rest she would have to find on her own, for he could only guide her so far, and in this step of the journey, it was entirely up to her.

Lyndis obeyed, sitting down and closing her eyes again. She shut off all connection to her heart, blocking any emotion she had. She began to focus on letting go. Her body started to fade again as she was in a meditary state. She could once again feel eberything in the room as if it were her own body.

Her mind's eye focused once again on the blue vortext she saw earlier. It did the same as before, swirled slowly while pulsating waves at her like a heartbeat. She felt calm. There was peace and calm around her. The more the waves hit her, the more she was drawn in. It was almost like a high.

The vortex didn't change color this time. It stayed blue, and stayed calm. Without realizing it, she let out small bursts of force energy from her body. It was merely raw energy that vitalized her and gave her new motive. She felt a connection that only the force could break. Not even herself could sever it. She didn't know how powerful the raw waves of energy coming from her were, but she felt as though they were meager to the understanding the just recieved.

She opened her eyes and looked up. "I think I felt the force..." She said.

Fang smiled, as he felt the warmth of her energy reach out as she meditated, he could not know percisely how she entered her state, as it was different for everyone, but she had done it, rather remarkably in fact. For her to have so easily corrected her mistake and to ahve a raw connection to the force this powerfull, she was strong indeed. after a minute she opened her eyes and looked up, "I think I felt the force" she said, Fang smiled. perhaps, he said.I cant know waht you truley felt, but what I do know is that you managed to connect to the force in a powerfull way. I think you noticed the force, you have always felt it, because it is has always been there. it is like glass, it is always there, but in order to see it, sometimes you just need to change your perspectivem and the light will make it shine. Fang finished. he waited a moment for his words to sink in.

Now, try to lift a rock again, he said, trusting that she would be able to control her power and ignore the temptaion of the darkside this time.

As she started, Fang continued to speak Remove the illusion of size from your mind, the size of the object matters not.

Once again, Lyndis obeyed. She closed her eyes and expanded her mind, stretching around like mental tendrils that grazed everything in the room, even her master. She prowled and continued to search until she found what she thought was a reasonably sized object. She sent herself back to the vortex, drawing energy from it until she felt as though it was enough, and quickly returned to the object before she drew too much energy and had a repeat of tasting the dark side. Using that energy, she felt mental hands stretch from her mind and wrap around the object, slowly pulling it up and lifting it.

Keeping her eyes closed, she could feel the strength coming to her, letting her lift the rock in the air and holding it there. She opened her eyes to take a peak, and much to her surprise, she lifted a rock that was the size of her fist instead of the pebble. She closed her eyes quickly to keep her concentration, but she could already feel herself being drained of the energy she gathered. It left her almost as quickly as it came. She would have to train in order to last longer in the presence of the vortex without feeling the temptation like she did. She would have to learn how to disconnect from her emotion when she needed to.

As she meditated, the rock slowly fell back to the ground. She felt her energy deplete itself completely. Opening her eyes, she looked at the rock and examined it. She knew she had the power to lift every object in the room if she so chose to, she just needed the resistance to the pull. "One step down, another to go," she said, more to herself than anyone. "I know where I stand now," she assessed to Fang. "I need to learn how to resist that temptation more."

Fang watched with a great smile as Lyndis once again closed her eyes, and this time, managed to lift a rock for quite some time before she dropped it, out of energy. Fang was proud and impressed. when she was finished and looked at him Fang gave a nod of approval.

"I know where I stand now, I need to learn how to resist that temptation more." she said, Fang gave a slight nod in response. The dark side tempts everyone differently, and protection lies in your mental will and knowladge, one thing is for certain, the dark side will always offer power, the means to an end or a goal, the fast route, but always at a terrible cost, for you will no longer control the power, but the power, will control you. Focus on the right path, and know the false offers of the darkside, and you will be just fine Lyndis. Fang explained. He had unknowingly addressed her as Lyndis and not padawan because, he had tremendous respect for her, not that he didnt have great respect for other padawans, he did, but there was something about this woman he greatly respected. Fang gave a smile.

Shall we continue? or move onto something else?

"I suppose now would be a good time to move on to this telepathy gift I seem to have," Lyndis said after giving much consideration to the lessons she desired next. She though about it and supposed the Jedi had their primary focus on telekinesis and telepathy, so why not get those two out of the way so she could practice later? It sure beat dancing terribly as a slave girl, when she wasn't even good at that. She was sure telepathy would come to her much more easily.

Fang nodded. Very well then. Telepathy is a relatively easy power in which you project your thoughts into anothers mind, reach out with the force and touch the mind of the person you want to communicate with, and merely project your thoughts. He explained. Try it on me now. Fang said, releasing his mental barriers.

Lyndis obeyed, closing her eyes once more and reaching out with mental tendrils, grazing over every object in the room until she found her master. The tendrils entered into his conscious, examining the many thoughts swarming his mind. She had to pause a moment after seeing such an overflow of information, all of which were swarming into her mind. Then, in the next second, she saw a lightsaber technique. Once she glanced at it, she decided not to continue. She didn't want to take on too much at one time.

She focused her essence, attempting to reverse what she had just done until she could feel energy and information flowing from her mind into his. It felt familiar, like she had done it before. Did it work? Can anyone here me? She thought, wondering if Fang could hear what she was asking. She figured she'd soon find out.

Fang stood there and watched as Lyndis re entered her meditation to attempt telekenisis. after a moment he felt her presence brush his mind, and then enter it as Fang allowed. Fang knew every thought she saw and allowed her to see them, keeping more personal thoughts and opinions regarding people locked away from her prying mind. A moment more and he felt it waver before he could hear Lyndis' voice in his head, Did it work? Can anyone here me? . Fang smiled. I can hear you, very well done Lyndis Fang mentally replied hoping that she had only focused on him, and not stretched the projection beyond the room, otherwise, if other Jedi heard it, who would know how many replies would be projected into her head, Fang doubted that such an experiance would be pleasant for someone who wasnt ready for it, nevermind someone who had just learnt the technique.
