So guys, I'm looking at starting a faction that revolves around adventures across the Universe and exploration. It's sort of weird to explain what I want to do with the faction (because it's technically nothing). I need a group of self-motivated, and highly creative and unique set of writers. And it'll be a different indie faction that involves a bit of work in part of it's members more than usual, and our number one job is simple: expand the lore and make it interesting/unique. You're going to need to expand on lore of planet's that don't have much cannon precedence now that the old canon is sort of in limbo, but in this way, you have complete freedom to do what you want to do with the planet - should it pass approval from the site leadership - and what adventures you have on said planet. And said adventures are the most important part. Ideally, I'd like these planets to have an overarching story with them, or we can create one, whatever our imagination allows us to do.
I don't want to elaborate much because I don't have it all finished just yet and a lot depends on who/how many join, but the general gist of the faction is one thing: explore the Universe and have a bit of fun doing it with your crew of writers. Place yourself in tough situations, get out of them, find some cool stuff to bring back and show your friends - maybe even make new friends??? I can go over the general plan I have for the faction, just know it will be in stages. This is the quickest way to explain the idea I have for the faction.
The Hydian Exploration Corps is an intergalactic community of explorers, spaces, archaeologists, xenobiologists and all-around adventurers (working in ship crews) who go to the furthest reaches of space, creating new hyperlane routes, charting new planets, and making contact with non-Galactic civilized cultures. The Hydian Exploration Corps is an independent entity, free from political interests and only task is to explore the stars and bring in new species to the rest of the Galaxy.
Pretty simple, right? Well, our job OOC'ly is to catalogue these places, create them from scratch if we have to, and make an interesting plot for not only your crew, but as many other factions as well. I'd like to involve as many outside factions as possible, maybe even have some Dark Jedi using us to establish more remote outposts and training facilities, or what have you. Or a Hutt gangster using the Hydian ExplorCorps as a slaver cover and bringing new species to the black market. Maybe Jedi helping deescalate a civil war or something to that effect. Really, the possibilities are endless. Whether the faction really does awesome things (which I really look forward to), or don't do a damn thing (can't be helped), I want us to sort of get in the groove of actually bringing outside members to plot and connect with one another to make a way funner and cohesive story, you know, by working together. Anyway, hope this struck a cord in someone, anyone, willing to help me out with this.
