OOC: Death Enabled. Given the setting of the prior thread, this is before Talak joined the Jedi Order officially

Shady Coruscant warehouse? Yes, shady Coruscant warehouse. Talak hadn't figured out what the protocol was for Jedi prisoners yet, but he was pretty sure this wasn't it. He would eventually end up handing the man over to the Jedi shortly and probably join them officially himself, but for the moment he settled for having the Jedi alongside him.

So why come to this warehouse?

Besides the fact that he didn't know if the Jedi even took prisoners to their secret hideout, he also wanted some time for a one on one interrogation. Or... one on two with Vin (@Wit) here as well. They didn't just execute Sith, did they? That wasn't Talak's plan at least, but that would ultimately probably be up to the higher-ups in the Jedi.

The warehouse was mostly empty and their new prisoner (@Darasuum) would awaken tied to a chair with his head still spinning. That was thanks to the drugs that Talak had injected into him to keep him from being able to focus on the Force too clearly. And more were tucked away in his belt should he need them. Talak was content to wait for him to awaken.

Vin was fascinated by the man tied to the chair. Outside of Talak this was the first Sith she had ever met, or had the opportunity. And Talak wasn't even one anymore, so this was really her first encounter with a true Sith. She had questions, as well as concerns, but for the moment she was content with dealing with the former. Answers would help, information would help. If she wasn't mistaken, the man this Sith had helped maim with the Mandalorian, the man whose lightsaber she still carried, had also been a Sith. Why had he attacked him, was it just normal Sith behavior or was there some sort of schism within their ranks since Talak had left them? And had the recent declaration left them so emboldened that they now ran about so openly? Was it because of arrogance, or was it born from a place of safety? Safety born from a confidence in their strength and numbers?

There was much she wanted to know, much that the Council would also probably want to know. But the last time a Sith had been captured, the Rangers had made one mistake. They had let everyone know, and that had drawn more Sith to free the captive. They had no idea to know if anything like that would happen again, if this man was important enough. SPecially now that their existence was no longer a secret. But the precautions Talak had taken in bringing him here instead of taking him directly to Ajan Kloss were ones she agreed with. Better to keep any fallout isolated from the Jedi. Once the trail had gone cold they could hand him over to the Council.

For now they would wait, wait for the prisoner to awaken. There were words to be had.

Many people didn't realize what happened when a person was knocked out. Sometimes it was just a simple 'lights out' but for Kai his mind eventually moved to other parts of his own mind after he had been stunned by the Sector Ranger in disguise back on Formos.

His body ceased to feel anything in his slumber. Kai's imagined a dark abyss, his own being given light and floating alone in the darkness. Minute, maybe hours passed in this state. Eventually a singular eye showed before him.

You promised

Kai wanted to reply but his macabre jaw opened to let out no sound. His body felt like he was moving forward suddenly only this time there was no starship seat or obvious sign for what was making him move. There was nothing to tell him how fast he was moving without any visual to give him frame of reference. The eye that felt like it had been normal sized only a few meters from his face grew to suddenly be the size of a building, looming over him and staring. Kai didn't know how much time was passing, he didn't know if what he was seeing was real or fake.

We'll be together again...

His body began to plummet away from the eye. It felt like Kai was being dragged down. Looking up like a drowning victim seeking air, his eyes stared up to see the pupil staring backm, shrinking into the darkness above him until he was alone again in the void. Kai stopped seeing or hearing anything else after that.

Kai was groggy for a multitude of reasons. The added drugs in his system did not help but he wouldn't say the sensation of being 'out of it' was unfamiliar to him. There wasn't much he could do about it at the moment. Trying to neutralize any toxin with his affinity to the force was probably futile, at least for now so he didn't even try. "Uugh..." a dry groan came from his mouth an was followed by a rasping cough. Plenty of time had come and gone apparently without any sustenance or water.

Moving his arms and legs subsequently yielded obvious results or lack there of. Kai reflexively tried again but none of his limbs moved much more as it became apparent he was restrained. "Dian-...." He said the first half of his safe word and then remembered that he was captured by Jedi. Admittedly he ended up in more benders than he did interrogations. "-kark me. Where's my Mando?" Blinking multiple times his head turned to get in as much of his surroundings. But he should have known the lack of information around him. The events that he last remembered came flooding in.

The Grysk was somewhere relatively isolated. He was alone. I'm alive and restrained. That told him something. Whatever they've given me...At least they are quiet. He didn't have to worry about his own ghosts haunting him while trying to deal with this predicament. The two sided coin of the Grysk was he could use his powers the more clear his head was. The only problem, a clear head meant seeing his own sins in ghostly form. The Jedi had inadvertently spared him that so he wasn't going to complain. Except me Yes, she was still there.

"What the... if you want the bounty just take it." While the dark sider had an imagination, this seemed more like a black site than some kind of FWA and Jedi aligned interrogation room. Everything about this screamed 'highly illegal interrogation' and Kai was going to treat it like so. Formos was a highly competitive locale and while the so-called jedi had brandished lightsabers those were just rare items and not concrete representations of identity.

Kai was going to try and delay the next few moments to make head so or tails of what happened before he had been knocked out. While the dark sider was pretty confident in his own deduction skills he knew he was not flawless. Maybe they actually had been some cleverly dressed rival bounty hunters. Blinking some of his bleariness away the Grysk tried to gauge who and what was around him.

Sometimes Talak thought back to being a Sith and couldn't help but think how much simpler it was. Perhaps that was just the memory of "the good old days" but he didn't do very well with rules, and rules against randomly executing people was more complicated.

But then, he was far away from the Jedi and not a Jedi himself. So there was that for him if nothing else.

The air in the warehouse smelled stale and metallic. It was a stiff smell that told the story of rarely ever getting air since its closure.

Talak didn't address the comment on the bounty. Although he hadn't managed to place the man's skull face, he'd given up on the idea. Nevertheless, meditating near the man's presence had only confirmed in Talak's mind that he was a Sith.

The Mando is elsewhere, he said cryptically, though that could have meant anything. Talak seemed quite calm and almost disinterested in their prisoner, only casting his eyes over to the man after several moments.

Let's talk about you. What's your story? he asked. Perhaps the question was reminiscent of Talak's everlasting curiosity, almost conversational if it had been asked in another context. His senses reaching out to the man's mind. Detecting lies was sometimes difficult on another Force user, but that was the role the drugs played. They might get lies, but disguising them would be difficult at best. @Darasuum @Wit

As the man came to, Vin reached out to the Force as well, her senses reaching out beyond her to observe him not just with more than just eyes. While the Force wasn't some infallible tool, it did give hints and suggestions that could prove to be pretty handy in situations like these. So when Talak started questioning the Sith, there were momentarily two sets of eyes on him, trying to get a read on him and gauge the sincerity of his answers.

But they had learned from recent events, and given what happened the last time a Sith was held captive Vin was not about to take any chances. So while Talak took the lead on the questioning, Vin turned her attention to their surroundings. She was still listening to the conversation between the two men, but her eyes and ears were on alert for any disturbance around them, the Force now focused on sensing any new presences in the area instead of studying the captive. She trusted Talak to handle that, which was odd given how brief their acquaintance was. But to be a Jedi was to believe in everyone capacity for good, and so she was putting her belief in his redemption and his path going forward as a Jedi.

So she treated this like working with another Jedi, which admittedly was a rare occurrence for her, but as she would with any other Jedi she trusted in Talak to do his bit while she did her's. There would be no blood shed this time, not if she could do anything about it.

It wasn't the first time others had touched his mind though it wasn't exactly welcome in this context either. They weren't trying to hide their search for answers. The woman turned away though and Kai's eyes watched her for a moment and then looked back at Talak. "Is this the part where we do a fade affect into a flashback of my childhood?" He gave a short huff and then a singular cough and cleared his throat.

"You guys can't really be Jedi right? I mean...this is sooooper sketch. Like, not 'may the force be with you' kind of hospitality. So which one's it going to be first. You, or her?" His eyes looked back at Vin as she continued to check for other threats. The fact she was doing that made his heart feel elated and a chuckle follow. The chuckle would grow into a soft laugh before dying into a sigh.

Talak wasn't surprised by the bravado or the defiance. It was what he expected from the man, but he didn't look at all concerned by it.

No, I'm not a Jedi, he said plainly. He wasn't trying to hide it. I'll let that - and my saber color - sink in for a minute, he said. The blade had been white, and the man would know that it meant it had once been red. That, in turn, meant that he had done much, much worse things to people before. Whether he pursued a better path now or not, he had a long way to go to being a "textbook" Jedi.

Or perhaps the man wouldn't figure any of that out. Talak didn't care.

Take your time. I'll wait, he said, nonchalantly, taking a seat of his own. He wasn't bluffing either. Talak had food and water. Talak could get up and move around. He could go sleep if he wanted to. Talak wasn't going to be injected with drugs at regular intervals to keep his thoughts cloudy.

The man had none of those things. No, Talak didn't intend to kill him, but he could make his life unbearably unpleasant for the next few days. Hopefully he wouldn't die by accident... hopefully. He'd already asked his question. The man knew what he was waiting for. Talak could wait. @Darasuum @Wit

Vin turned to look at the two men as Talak replied to the Sith's words. Amusement at his words almost brought a smile to her face, and after a moment she let it slip out. The corners of her lips twitched in a smile as she reached into her cloak and pulled out the blade that was left clipped there. The blade she had claimed from the Mandalorian, which he in turn had stolen from the Sith the two had assaulted. She held it in front of her and ignited it, the crimson blade popping to life in front of her, and she waved it slowly in front of her till she noticed the Sith's eyes on it.

"I wonder what my blade says about me? Guess I can't pass off as a Jedi either, can I?"

The question was aimed at Talak, but it was easy enough for the Sith to hear her words as well. She was just as aware of his drugged state as Talak, and knew that he would be confused. More likely than not her little stunt would only add to his confusion. For all he knew he had woken up tied up and being questioned by a Sith and seemingly a redeemed one.

His eyes squinted at Talak as he spoke but then blinked a few more times. Kai had noticed the lightsaber had not been blue or red. It had actually been the first time he had seen a white saber. "Let it sink all you want I-" His words were cut off by the activation of the blade Vinry now possessed. It was pretty clear it was one of the sabers that belonged to Xath rather than the one she had originally used. Kai remembered seeing Vinry's blue blade in the bar so he was not going to hesitate in showing his unimpressed feelings about the unnecessary brandishing of the weapon.

Talak would take a seat and Kai would sigh. A gnarly thumb picked at the edge of the chair corner just as a fidgeting action. The Grysk was pretty sure he had something in his eye but with his bound hands he couldn't clear it. His back was flat against the chair since it seemed it would be a game of waiting. "What happened to the other gal? The one with all the armor." They wanted him to think they were bad but they were either amateurs or just bad at what they were attempting. He was pretty sure he would have been killed already if it had been Sith that had taken him or they wouldn't be asking the same kinds of questions they were asking. Even questions held information in their own right. Kai head went from side to side, cracking some joints and then leaning to try and raise his shoulder to his eye with the closest thing he had to a tool to scratch an itch.

Kai was confident they were Jedi, or at least Jedi aligned. There were other groups and non-jedi and non-sith in theory. He couldn't search their minds or use any of his Force privilege to gain any other info from their alignment even with the drugs in his system. The Grysk knew the Jedi's teachings to a degree so if these two were among the Order then that made what they could do limited. Should....what they should do. He reminded himself knowing that even the best people could still do terrible things. It gave him much to think on regardless of whether or not Talak would indulge conversation.

It was quite evident that Talak was willing to wait the man out. No, he wasn't claiming he would stick a blade through the Sith here and now, but that didn't mean there weren't greater lengths he would go to than a true Jedi.

He ignored the man's probing question and began to tap at his datapad, actually managing to get work done as he ignored the man. As necessary he would inject the man with additional drugs in order to keep his mind from being able to focus on the Force.

Between he and Vinry, they could keep watch around the clock if necessary. As the man had already shown, he was just conscious enough to still have semi-rational thoughts, which meant he could understand all the horrors he was about to undergo.

Assuming he didn't talk, Talak wouldn't torture him per se. Depending on whether various enhanced interrogation means were considered "torture." That was still up for debate in many circles. Talak - the former Sith - saw this as a huge step in the right direction from the lightning storm and saber slices he normally would have done.

The wonders the man would have to look forward to in the next few days. Onset of incredible thirst secondary to dehydration. Urination and defecation leading to skin breakdown and ulceration in all sorts of unpleasant areas. Hunger. Sleep deprivation leading to exhaustion. The hope that he would be provided with a small amount of water to keep him from dying.

This, of course, was assuming that he continued his path of defiance. @Wit @Darasuum

No response. The man in charge of his captivity seemed stoic and ultimately content in waiting. Let's see how long that lasts He thought to himself.

"You don't make up for your sins in a church..." The Grysk swallowed dryly. It felt like his throat was made of sandpaper. Each taste bud scrapped against a separate part of his mouth. "...you do it in the streets. You do it at home." His eyes drifted to a non-descript corner of the room before blinking and refocusing on his captor. A smile came across his face as he still saw the man present almost as if he hadn't been saying it to him but still finding it amusing the coincidence of him being present for Kai's words. "....the rest is bantha fodder" His eyes twitched and the Gyrsk's head leaned forward as his body began to return to rest even if he was sitting up. At this point it didn't matter. But he was not allowed to sleep.

Inhaling and huffing at being prevented from sleeping he eyed his warden with defiance. Moments of staring in animalistic frustration stared back from the dark sider's eyes. The bonds around his wrists had cut into his flesh days ago. Still, Kai strained against them from time to time, never letting scabs or healing to be made. Moments would pass where the flicker of a grin would come and go. closer

"No escape..." He mumbled on another day. At least, he thought it was another day. Despite the drugs in his system, Malakai was still seeing her. "just...stop. I'll..." His entire body slumped to the side, causing his form to fall to the cold and hard ground. The only sensation Kai noticed was the difference in his view. The world was sideways, but he didn't have the strength nor the ability to right himself. His heavy eyelids began to close. It was the first time in probably a week, maybe multiple weeks, where his body was horizontal. It was too good of an oportunity for his subconscious to pass up. Kai's eyes began to close but before he knew it he was jarred back to consciousness as his chair and body in turn was righted back to its former position.

Every inch of the room, as plain as it was, was stared at and analysed by the Grysk. There were shapes, abnormalities, the slightest hints that his imagination sprang to in order to probably keep him sane. But in terms of sanity, Kai was already at a disadvantage. He was never alone, even if Talak and the other Jedi woman were to leave him alone. He knew he was observed and it entertained him to every once in awhile fake a 'I'm willing to confess my sins' only if it was to mess with his captors. Either A, they came to visit him from wherever they were and waste precious recources, or B, get tired of wasting their resources and either kill him or realize their mistake. In captivity, Kai lived to spite his captors. A _real_ jedi would deal with it one way, and a non-jedi...

"NO!" He shouted, his own voice ringing in the inclosed space as he felt his phantom lover over his shoulder. Kai's shoulders sagged even further and a sigh escaped his macabre expression which had only degraded further. "I don't think I can....keep it."

The ghoulish gaze focused on someone that wasn't there. "I...I think I got off pretty easy. But..." The blood from his wrists being cut by his own bonds occasionally allowing a droplet of his life blood to drip onto the cold ground. "...I'll see you soon, Tanarra..." Kai would slip into a coma and likely die if not treated for his wounds. He knew when he was beat and so far there had been nothing to entice him to give anything up. No promise of release, no deal, nothing. And he wasn't one to ask. The Grysk fully believed he deserved what was coming to him and if it was death, so be it. If his last act was a to spite someone trying to mess with him, that just made his death that much sweeter. Even in that moment he wasn't sure who had taken him from Formos. As his body went slack, a grim smile resided across his face. At least this way he would great the darkness with the smile and be ready to reunite with her.

@Phoenix @Wit without aid/intervention Kai's captors allow him to die

OOC: Well... that wasn't how I expected this to end. o_o

The man appeared to be almost pointlessly stubborn. A zealot indeed. Truly and completely rejecting turning from his former path. Something, something no one beyond redemption, something, something, but they had to be willing to actually take the first step. Talak had half a mind to just execute him outright, but that probably wasn't the right choice.

So days ticked by. He alternated with Vinry, taking turns guarding him. But Talak wasn't one to waste time. Reading, working, exercising, and training were all things he had begun to do in this warehouse.

His saber swept through the air in a series of pre-planned swings when he heard the Sith's chair tip over. He was muttering something and Talak rolled his eyes. It wasn't the first set of delusional words he'd said, and unfortunately they were never cooperative.

Talak paid him no mind.

Had the man's body not blocked the pool of blood now forming from his wrists, Talak might have actually helped him, but by the time he moved over several minutes later - planning to wake him from the sleep he was apparently intent on getting - he saw the pool of blood.

Are you kidding me... he muttered gruffly as he bent down and placed his fingers against the side of his neck.

A sigh and another roll of the eyes and shake of his head.

He came around the body and looked at the man's wrists. Cuts deep enough to sever the arteries didn't happen by accident, which meant this man had chosen this out. A zealot, he repeated again. So loyal to the Sith he'd rather die than answer simple questions.

Psycho... he muttered with a shake of his head. All that work for nothing. All he had to do was answer a simple question. It hadn't even been a difficult one. "What's you story?" Apparently death was preferable to recounting that story. For the briefest moment, Talak felt bad, but then the feeling was replaced by that same cold pragmatism. The man had made his choice, and it was a shame.
