Kori's hand ran across the metallic frame of the newly-purchased black swoop bike before turning off the ignition. The engine under her stopped purring, and the Zeltron dismounted with a smile of content. Totally worth it. Don't you worry, I won't keep my third eye off you. Even though the parking lot was under surveillance, and the swoop itself was outfitted with a tracker, Nykoria wasn't going to take any chances. Coruscant was no Nar Shaddaa, but vehicles were stolen there too. It would be a shame if all her academy instructor earnings—in the form of this old-school technological miracle—would be stolen by some lowlife. After all, she had left most of her weapons at home; only the Force was with her that night. The newly-anointed Jedi Master could regret that choice in the long run, but felt that it would suffice.

But what had a Jedi Master forgotten in that seedy place? Surely it had to be something important, lest she wouldn't bother. And important it was. So the Zeltron had taken every precaution to look the part. No Jedi robes this time; just a black tank top, a brand-new dark-brown leather jacket with a barely noticeable tribal pattern on the back. Tight-fitting dark-blue pants and black boots completed the picture. For the first time in a while, the Zeltron had even applied the make-up to hide the burns on her forehead and cheek, at least partly. That night she wasn't meant to be "Nykoria Tallis, Jedi Master". She was just "Kori from the neighborhood". Hopefully, her exploits on Coruscant hadn't gained too much notice yet, and it would work as planned. After all, Kori's mission was simple: to unwind and get a change of pace.

That's why she had picked one of the clubs where she went in her very late teens, just before having to leave Coruscant and join the Jedi Order. Reliving the experiences of the past seemed like a childish thing to do, unworthy of a Jedi Master. But who cares? I'm still myself, first and foremost. With that, Kori stepped through the door, into the dense and familiar sea of bass and intertwined emotions. As teen, she had thought that she could perceive them well enough. But years of studying the Force had taken the experience to a whole new level. Even while keeping some of her attention focused on her swoop outside, the Zeltron could still take in the cocktail of dance trance with a little bit of lust as she made her way through the crowd. Speaking of cocktails...

"One Corellian Drive, with ice," a few credit chits landed on the counter, along with the Zeltron's elbow. Her purple face turned in the direction of the dance floor. As the bartender tended to her order, Kori simply watched and felt the crowd. Despite the emotions surrounding her, the memories of the past kept the Zeltron somewhat isolated from everything going on. She was finding some weird form of serenity even amidst the storm of party-goers ripping up a dance floor. Am I really getting too Master-y, like Oren? The thought made the Zeltron close her eyes briefly and shake her head with a shudder. No way.

In the meantime, the bartender slid over a glass of blue liquid, which Nykoria accepted with a nod. The Zeltron was pretty content with her current position, reminiscing "old times" and not seeking much else. But she still didn't know what the future held. For all she knew, it could escalate into anything: from a dance with someone to gang warfare or something worse. All is as the Force wills it, huh? Let us see then.

The music was a parade of pulsating power as it stormed over the speakers, drowning the club in a sea of sound and soaking the dancers and their floor in sweat. Vayla watched their bodies sway and tilt, jump and bounce, limbs and lekku flailing every which way. Even before the doors had opened, she could hear the faint lightning of the electronic rebellion from the outside, though now those beats were drumming right through her heart. The sensation itself was electric as she stood at the doorway smiling at the dancers, a sudden urge to join them, feeling their energy and elation like she was already with them. For a moment, they made her forget about the feeling of someone like her sharing the same setting. Look at them go. Characters with their own codes and creeds, own lives and problems, different species and backgrounds, all blending together on one floor like nothing else matters but this moment.

The Pantoran took a breath to steady her heart before her moment passed and she stepped further throughout the club. Patrons passed her by, some eyes lingering on her person, though she paid the oglers little mind. A pair of Humans suddenly sprung up from their table to dance around it, nearly knocking a server’s platter out of her hands, but Vayla was quick to place a hand on it and catch a tumbling bottle.

“Frak and farkle! Nice reflexes, girl!” The server thanked.

“No problem. I’m a Jedi.” Vayla winked. Her statement had only warranted a chuckle before the two moved along, the latter toward the bar in pursuit of a familiar feeling. She had little doubt that the presence she detected was a mutual discovery; Vayla herself would have probably been picked up at any moment before or after she had waltzed through the club’s entrance. As a train of shot-toting merry-goers passed before her, they left behind a clear view of the Zeltron woman sitting at the bar. Vayla did not recognize her face but she recognized something else and that was enough. So she stepped forward.

The Zeltron was dressed rather casually, in fact her entire outfit seemed like something out of a mirror. Contrasting it, the Pantoran sported a tan leather jacket, white shirt, black pants and black boots. This, though, was not what had warranted the smile on her features as she strolled toward the counter and stood beside the other woman.

“I’m not following you, I promise,” Vayla joked as she leaned back against the counter to watch that floor and its carousel of dancers. “Though I wonder if it’s the Force that brought two Jedi together in a club on Coruscant or a colorful coincidence.”

The beverage created a warm and almost forgotten feeling in the Zeltron's chest. She hadn't had a chance to drink on Ajan Kloss... And on most of her missions, for that matter. It made the surrounding emotions—including her own—flow through Kori, just like the Force flows through a Jedi. A part of her felt like it wasn't something she should partake it. But it ain't no crime, right? After all, being a Jedi wasn't about denying her own emotions. It was more about being wary of them when making important decisions. So, the Zeltron added a credit chit on the table and gestured the bartender for another round.

That was when Kori sensed something... no, someone. The presence made its way through the doors of the club, taking in the beat and feel much like the Zeltron before. Then it headed towards Kori, only stopping once to emit a surge of warmth and light. The Zeltron didn't try to isolate the conversation, so little did she know that it was a show of reflexes on the Pantoran's behalf. Still curious, Kori turned towards the new arrival just as she leaned her back against the counter. The woman was like a photo-negative of Kori: same style, different colors. The coincidence made the corner of the Zeltron's lip curl up in a smirk.

"I’m not following you, I promise. Though I wonder if it’s the Force that brought two Jedi together in a club on Coruscant or a colorful coincidence."

So, she was a Jedi alright. But alas, the Zeltron didn't remember the name; it could be that their paths hadn't crossed on Ajan Kloss; or that Nykoria had simply forgotten. Regardless, the Zeltron putt the refilled glass on the counter for a minute and turned towards the stranger. That way, she could also cast a glance at the dance floor from time to time. "In my experience, the latter is the evidence of the former," she raised her voice a little bit, so that it wouldn't be stifled by the music as easily.

"Perhaps it's the will of the Force that the Jedi wear leather jackets as their uniform now," the purple-skinned alien returned the joke. "Kori Tallis," she introduced herself to the stranger, hoping that they indeed hadn't met during apprenticeship or the earlier years. Otherwise, if the stranger knew her name, and Nykoria couldn't return the favor, the introduction would look pretty awkward. "So, how come that the Force brought you here of all places?"

"Kori Tallis,"

"Perhaps it's the will of the Force that the Jedi wear leather jackets as their uniform now,"
“Vayla Mirana,” she exchanged, evidently for the first time after all. Her gaze swept over their jackets at the Zeltron’s comment. Hers might actually look good on me. If only I knew brands. The more thought she might put into it, standardizing leather jackets across the entire Jedi Order was not too terrible an idea. We would look pretty cool. Then again, sometimes her ideas were fleeting at best and failures at worst.
"So, how come that the Force brought you here of all places?"
“I don’t know, I was on a stroll and I just...” Her thoughts were a little more focused now as she averted her gaze back into the crowd. How long has it been? “Just felt like stopping by… I used to visit establishments like this one years ago, here and there. Had a friend in the Order, Twi’lek named Mila Tesara—good sparring partner, great dancer—and we’d unwind our nights in these kinds of ‘clubs’ on occasion.”

The train of memories were taking her back, the tracks switching back and forth. Where are you now, old gal?

“Get you anything?”

Vayla blinked herself out of an edging trance and turned to the counter. The bartender looked at her amicably if expectantly. “Oh, uh…” She hesitated. Alcohol? Tea? What kind? Green? Mei-mei? Kopi? Do they have it? She took a breath to begin her request but nodded at her companion instead.

“Hey, help me out? What would you recommend?”

Few better places to hide than in the Coruscant nightlife. Vibrant, pulsing and wild. In long past days, she'd head to places like this herself. Along with the others in her unit, they'd drink and dance and forget about all they'd done in their time on tour. And there was a lot to forget.

The Outlander Club was famous and the report she'd been given had said it was a favourite of her target. Some wealthy industrialist with several links to the Coruscant political scene. One who'd been quite vocal in his attempts to get the Republic and the Free Worlds Alliance to take the Sith more seriously. He had to go, in no uncertain terms.

Equivocal had been posted there for three weeks. One of the management team had an 'unfortunate accident' following one shift, so they'd reached out for a replacement. And wouldn't you know it, her credentials had been excellent. She'd been working there every night as the bar manager, overseeing drinks and listening in on conversations, while mapping out her target's general routine.

She was returning to the bar with an empty tray as she heard the word Jedi mentioned. Her blood ran cold, though she kept moving purposefully. Had they rumbled her already? She knelt down to check the spirit stock as she ran through her worries in her head, logically. Not a chance. Unless there was a traitor in the Sith, they'd know nothing. Carefully, she stood up and listened more, whilst busying her hands. She figured out where the conversation was coming from and honed in. The purple one and the blue one. Jedi, from the sounds of it. Neither looked particularly ready for battle, but then neither did she. The tiny holdout blaster was buried in the waist of her dark trousers.

Equivocal fixed a smile on her face and moved to the other side of the bar, hands clasped in front of her. "Well, we've just got in a new crate of Chandrillan Chill Spirit, fresh from the spaceport this afternoon," she said brightly, smiling at the Pantoran. "Excellent quality, we had to pull some strings to get it here." Her eyes flicked over to the... Zeltron? Offering her a smile too.

"Marys Level. I'm the bar manager tonight," she explained, in an effortless CoCo Town twang. "I'm sorry to intrude but, did I hear you correctly? That you're both Jedi?" she asked, trying to put a little of that starstruck awe into her tone.

The Pantoran—no, Vayla—seemed to ignore Kori's remark about colorful coincidences being the proof of the Force's will. Could I have worded it better? Was it too bland or obvious? Or maybe—Force forbid—I am becoming as philosophical as Master Zapan with my conclusions. No, can't be! Must've been just a bland statement.

She hadn't heard about a Jedi named Mila Tesara... Not surprising, considering how many Jedi there were on Ajan Kloss, and that the galaxy was a pretty big place. Sparring and dancing sounded like a curious mix though. Both were up Kori's street. Regardless, as Vayla moved with her answer, it made Kori think. Guess it is normal for a Jedi to unwind. Even like this. Good to know. Now my conscience is as clear as the waterfalls of Ajan Kloss again. In fact, maybe I should go for a dance. A bit later though. A couple more drinks in, and I should do be good. With that, the Zeltron downed the second Corellian Drive. Her second liver should be able to take it.

Kori was about to return the favor and share her own reasons for being there. But the bartender interrupted her, and Vayla's subsequent question added to the confusion. Why ask me? Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to help, but I don't know your preferences. What if you're a no-alcohol type? Before Kori could suggest a Corellian Drive, she was saved by a member of the staff.

...

They say that a Jedi knows what you're up to before you even do it. That's true... But only to a point. Jedi precognition may allow them to dodge a blaster bolt. They might even sense a person's intent or emotions. But there are techniques to protect your mind from a prying Force user. The crowds—like those in the Outlander Club that day—don't help either. And the Jedi can't read the future like an open book.
So believe me when I say that I had NO idea what that woman was up to at that moment. It didn't occur to me once that she could be working with the Sith. You can't play the part so well without putting real emotions into it. And when you do that, put the Jedi in such a place, and give them a drink or two, you might deceive all but the best. What I mean is, the Jedi aren't infallible, and the ordinary people can be just that good at their job. She would've fooled anyone. Maybe the Eternal itself.

...

"Well, you've got me, Marys," the Zeltron returned the smile. "Two shots then, I'm buying." Kori tossed more credit chits on the counter. After all, most Jedi didn't have a steady source of income and had to rely on what the Order could provide. Nykoria, however, had a side job on Coruscant and had just been promoted to Jedi Master. I wish Nara, Izel, and Eisa could be here too. But at least I can share this moment with someone from our Order.

Ms. Level's second question made Kori tense up, if only for a moment. From the Zeltron's experience, people could be quite prejudiced about the Jedi and the Force. But the stranger's tone and the alcohol helped soothe that concern a bit. Still, Nykoria replied with a playfully-cautious: "Depends on who's asking and why. Are you going to burn us at the stake if we are?"

Coruscant, a planet of a thousand cities, or a city the size of a planet,” Rossana chucked to herself at her inner monologue, “oh how silly I’ve become. I must be more exhausted then I realized. With all these silly thoughts.” The Senator was dressed down from her usual attire, wearing a low cut strapless golden dress, the fabric went down over her right leg and encircled it, crescendoing upwards towards the left, showing off her leg for all to see. Rossana was sick and tired of all the bureaucracy and being proper: for one night, all she needed was some fun.

The woman’s cool blue eyes were accented with golden eyeshadow and red lipstick, her hair down and pulled back over her shoulders like a vortex of flame being forced downwards. Of course, Senator Snowel was no fool-she was armed with her lightsaber incase a man or woman got a little too handsy.

The destination for Rossana was the outlander club, a favorite of hers where she went drinking when she was in need of fun. Usually she’d go, have an interesting chat with an interesting person or two, drink, dance and flirt. Then she’d return to her quarters on Coruscant and get back to work.

Upon entering the club, the Senator went straight for the bar, ordering a simple glass of red wine. After receiving her drink the Senator began to eye up the inhabitants of the club, talking to a few folks as she went through the crowd. She was scanning the folks sitting at the tables and sipping her wine when she suddenly spit out her wine-(thankfully no one was in front of her) “Holy force. Is that MASTER Nykoria? Ah I think it is!

Now with a giddiness about her, Rossana made her way to the table where the waitress and the two woman were sitting, unaware of their previous conversation the Senator from Corellia went ahead and introduced herself, “Hello there! Sorry to interrupt but-I,” She smiled at Kori, “I just can’t believe it-A Jedi master, here of all places! I’m Senator Rossana Snowel-but you and your friend can call me Rose.” She kept smiling and gestured to both the Jedi Knight and Jedi Master when she spoke of them, “May I please sit with you? You’re truly a legend!”

One song ended, another began. The dance floor had been filled with pulsating if panting dancers and the DJ had probably timed the track change with the coming and going of new souls. Vayla looked away as the music began to change, shifting into a soft if somehow haunting chorus. Just then, a woman’s voice gave her the answer that she had needed for her indecisive question; not a Zeltron’s but a Human’s.

"Well, we've just got in a new crate of Chandrillan Chill Spirit, fresh from the spaceport this afternoon," she said brightly, smiling at the Pantoran. "Excellent quality, we had to pull some strings to get it here."

The Pantoran gazed into her black eyes surrounded by shadow. Chandrillian Chill Spirit, eh? Well that sounds positively delightful! She had no idea what it was. However, one lesson that her clubbing excursions had since taught her was that you should never turn down a bartender’s suggestion of beverage as much as you should never turn your back on a Wookiee.

"Well, you've got me, Marys," the Zeltron returned the smile. "Two shots then, I'm buying."

Vayla did not know her ‘booze’ as well as others might but she certainly knew what a shot was. “You’re a legend, lass!” She thanked Nykoria in what comical word choice she could muster, right as deep beats enveloped the lot of them in a world of wobbling bass. Then the manager raised the million credit question.

"Marys Level. I'm the bar manager tonight," she explained, in an effortless CoCo Town twang. "I'm sorry to intrude but, did I hear you correctly? That you're both Jedi?"

Here we go. Vayla half-expected a discount on drinks given Marys’ demeanor. The Pantoran had revealed her profession once already in this club, though in a deliberate tone of just joking. Am I still?

"Depends on who's asking and why. Are you going to burn us at the stake if we are?"

She was ready to let her fellow Jedi take over on that front, though burning at the stake might ruin any chance they ever had of standardizing leather jackets with the Council. Still, Vayla had a good feeling about the direction of this conversation. The Order was what it was in the eyes of many, and the Force for that matter, but club experience if no other had taught her that another number of galactic citizens found the Jedi to be...quite cool?

There was another interruption just then. If Marys had replied to Nykoria then Vayla had missed it as a voice cast their way that sounded even more elevated than it needed to be in the loud establishment.

Hello there!

Vayla had not exactly meant the word when she had earlier bestowed it upon Nykoria but this senator of all folk apparently had to the fullest. Her excitement was as contagious as the music and the Jedi could not help but grin. “Vayla,” she extended a hand toward this curious Rossana, knowing full well that it was no legend introducing herself. Still joking, then. With or without the handshake, she gestured toward the empty stool between the Jedi pair, hardly conscious of answering for her companion. “Please do sit, Senator! Here, this stool has your name on it!”

Oh. This is all so delicious. I appear to have hit the jackpot.

What a chance encounter indeed. Her mission was getting much more complicated, but this had the potential to pay off greatly. The Jedi seemed to have no clue whatsoever. It gave her a smug satisfaction that they were just as clueless as everyone else. All your fancy Force training. All your posing and presumption and righteous rubbish. And you're still just pawns.

Equivocal fixed a look of slight apprehension on her face, raising her hands. "Oh, I didn't mean to imply... goodness me, sorry!" she said quickly, like she'd put her foot in her mouth. "No I... my cousin was... he was a guard at Coruscant prison." A bite of her lower lip as it trembled. A quick look away, blinking back the 'tears.' Oh so very easy. "We... my family know what the Jedi did there. We know where the Jedi stand." A nod and an appreciative smile as she looked the Zeltron right in her eyes. Come on, you're a Jedi. See through me. See right through me. It gave her a little electric thrill to use the Sith's exploits in her own roles.

"But I didn't mean to lower the mood, Master Jedi. Master Jedis," she corrected quickly, smiling at Vayla. "And please, you can have my bar discount," she said to Nykoria, passing some of the chits back.

She was about to leave when the redheaded woman arrived, instantly making her evening a whole lot better. Jedi Master you say. Wonderful. The smile was more than genuine as the Senator introduced herself. "Senator Snowel, a pleasure to have you at the Outlander again," she said with a respectful nod of the head. "I shall get your orders ready, ladies. And I'll add a free glass for the Senator. I hope you have a lovely evening with us," Equivocal said, the very essence of professionalism. With that, she turned and strode back to the bar.

Hidden behind there, as she poured three glasses of expensive, shimmering spirit from a bottle, she tapped on a datapad with one hand. Never looking at the screen, tapping what seemed to be random keys. All coded. Messages to be held and sent when possible.

poss target: Coruscant: 'Jedi Master Nykoria Tallis' -check records- 'Jedi Vayla Mirana' no rank known -check records- 'Senator Rosanna Snowel'

After a quick adjustment, Equivocal came back over to the table holding a dark tray, matching the tone of her outfit. She leaned down towards the table, showing the assembled ladies their drinks.

"Here you are, Master Jedi," she said, laying one before Nykoria, "Master Jedi," laying one before Vayla, "and Senator," laying the last in front of the red-haired Rosanna.

The Zeltron Jedi did't lower the gaze of the brown eyes as Marys looked her in the eye. In fact, Kori usually enjoyed eye contact. But this time, something felt unusual—familiar, but not in a good way. Something triggered by old experiences. Kori couldn't quite put it yet, but the feeling that got her disturbed was the dissonance between words and actual emotions. Zeltrons were sensitive to such things, and there was a certain arrogance to Marys; as if she was challenging the Jedi and getting the kicks out of it.. All the while telling a sob story about her cousin.

Of course, Kori didn't have the time and perception to figure it out. She just felt something was off, which resulted in a raised eyebrow. Even the alcohol and some credits off the drinks didn't quite help Kori get over that uneasy feeling. Lucky for "Ms. Marys Level", a distraction arrived moments later, in the form of a vaguely-familiar redhead whose golden dress seemed more expensive than Kori's new swoop bike. As the woman introduced herself as "Senator Rosanna Snowel", Kori figured out why she seemed familiar. But more importantly, the Senator recognized Kori and all but announced her allegiance and rank in the Jedi Order. There go my attempts at being mysterious about it.

How the Senator knew Kori's name and rank was another question. So far, the Jedi hadn't been very public or appeared on the news too much. Kori's own involvement in galactic politics was limited to helping uncover Sith activity on Corsin, assisting a corporate CFO on Fondor during the abduction of her son, helping the Sector Rangers after the attack on their Coruscant HQ, and helping fend off a Sith Star Destroyer at Ryloth. Actually, that's a lot more than buying a Pantoran Jedi a drink. Maybe even enough for a 'legend'. But I haven't ended up on the news yet. It made sense though that Rosanna had her own sources, and knew more than an average Coruscant resident. She must've read about me in some report, or in a message from the Order.

Regardless, being held in such high esteem by the stranger—and genuine esteem at that—made Nykoria smile. Even Marys felt less shifty now, with a genuine smile. Yep, too paranoid, Kori. Stop seeing Sith and deceit everywhere. Unbeknownst to Nykoria, the "bar manager" had her own reasons for good mood. Meanwhile, Vayla introduced herself and politely offered the Senator a seat between the two Jedi. The Zeltron didn't mind. "Nice to meet you, Rose. You can call me Kori," she extended her hand for a handshake as well.

A fellow Jedi and a Senator... The evening sure brought together an unlikely bunch. Another 'coincidence', huh? Maybe Kori's being there that evening did serve some other purpose. That improved Nykoria's mood to the point that the "Marys doubts" were all but forgotten. And speaking of the bar manager, there she was, bringing a tray with three glasses. "Thank you, Marys," the Zeltron gave the warmest and the most genuine smile she could muster; and given Kori's mood, her eyes and smile literally radiated friendliness; much like her presence in the Force.

"Well, to having a chance to unwind, if only for one evening?" the Zeltron picked up her glass and prepared to clang it with her companions'. The toast she suggested was the first thing that came to her mind; for once, she didn't want to think about work or bring it up. But if any of her companions had a better idea for a toast, she wouldn't be opposed to that.

Rossana was in such a joyful mood, she had met a Jedi Knight-and even more exiting, a Jedi master too! Genuinely smiling, Rossana reached out and shook Vayla’s hand with a dainty zealousness. After the handshake was done the Jedi Knight suggested to Rossana “Please do sit, Senator! Here, this stool has your name on it!”
With no intention of disagreeing, Rossana gave thanks and joined the two female Jedi.During the greeting she also shook Nykoria’s hand. After she sat down the Waitress began to speak, Rossana recognized the waitress from the last time she was at the club and continued smiling as she was told, “ Senator Snowel, a pleasure to have you at the Outlander again," The waitress with a respectful nod of her head, "I shall get your orders ready, ladies. And I'll add a free glass for the Senator. I hope you have a lovely evening with us.”

As the waitress left them, Rose excitedly replied to Kori’s, “Nice to meet you, Rose. You can call me Kori.” With, “Thank you-but really the pleasure’s all mine.

Not soon after, the waitress brought over drinks and Senator Snowel gave her a broad smile and earnestly said “
Thank you so much!” She reached for her glass and was just about to go in for a sip when Kori began to toast, “Well, to having a chance to unwind, if only for one evening?
Rossana chuckled and nodded, I wish every night was half this fun! The fiery haired woman reached out to clank her glasses with her companions, her eyes and smile conveyed just how much joy she was feeling, along with of course how the very force around her was jumping up and down with joy, her happiness radiating out around them. Mixing with the other two force users, the area would presumably bring great joy to anyone nearby.

A Zeltron’s pheromones could be hard to resist, nuanced though they were when it came to any given Zeltron and any given recipient (such as a Jedi). Now, sitting before Kori in a nightclub that reverberated with wild music, with the prospect of knocking alcohol down her throat, all it took was a senator’s handshake to put Vayla in a fantastic mood.

As the drinks of some kind of iridescent liquid were centered before their caretakers, Vayla could only blink at hers as she imagined the taste. It might compare with with any one in a dozen of spirits she had sampled in the past, most of them courtesy of one Mila Tesara, but the daydreaming didn’t have long to ensue before Kori raised her glass. Vayla looked between all persons present, including the bar manager with those shadowed, shadowed eyes, and raised her hand in agreement. Would that I had known I would be spending tonight in company like this… The universe, eh, Vay?

"Well, to having a chance to unwind, if only for one evening?"

“To unwinding this evening with friends of past, present and future,” she smiled, electing to piggyback on her counterpart’s toast. It was quite clear that a few of the faces around her stool had recognized one another but, for her part, she had lain eyes on each face for the first time only this evening. Any Jedi was a friend of worth as far as Vayla was concerned, known or not, and a senator to boot was far too giddy to glide away from. Finally, the bar manager, one Marys Level, well, before the night was over she could very well end up becoming Vayla’s new best friend. I’ll toast to that too. With that, she timed her hand with her companions and tipped the shimmering spirit down her throat.

There was certainly great joy in the air for someone in that room, if the reasons were somewhat different than the others. The club was proving to be a high-value source of intelligence. Who knew that Jedi were so free and easy with their secrets?

To think that the Sith would usually torture it out of people when you could just give them some drinks and let them spill it all out.

Equivocal thought of how to linger. Only imagining what delicious insights they'd spill next. But her training told her to back off. They'd just got their drinks. Let them have a little fun. Stick to the cover, ease into the role. Don't give them cause to doubt. She might've been smug at how well it was going, but it could turn in half-a-second flat. Especially with a Jedi Master around.

Possibilities ran through in her mind as Equivocal held the tray under her arm for a moment, smiling warmly at all the toasts and friendly banter that was ongoing. "I hope you enjoy your drinks, ladies," she said, giving a quick nod of her head to all three. "If you need anything else, please just look my way. I'll be certain to take special care of you tonight, in the best Outlander Club style," she told them brightly, before making to leave them. Only for a short while.

She headed back towards the bar, wondering if she had time to slip around the back rooms to find what she wanted. It'd be so simple to pull out that recording transmitter from the droid and plaster it to the tray. Or could she take something from them? The possibilities raged in her mind as she pretended to oversee the bar and served a couple of drinks to rowdy customers.

There was a reason why the Zeltron used to love clubbing and such back in the day. Being enveloped in the emotions of others, while watching things unfold from the sidelines, was great by itself. But there was more to it. On some days, Kori managed to reach a state that she called "in the zone". That usually happened whenever she danced or got into the spotlight in a large company.

As the moods around her got higher, the Zeltron would let their emotions flow through her, amplified. The pheromones—and unwittingly, the Force—returned the favor to the surrounding people. For a while, this "feedback loop" would let the emotions build up, until it became almost unbearable; more liberating than any beverage; not toxic, yet intoxicating. With Rose and Vay around in the mood of theirs, Kori felt a familiar surge building up slowly. It was still very far from the peak, but the memories made her smile even before downing her drink. Man, I forgot how it feels! And they hadn't even done much... Yet.

Downing the shimmering liquid only reinforced the feeling that Nykoria had made the right decision coming to Outlander that night. She reached out with the back of her mind to the swoop parked outside, just to ensure it wasn't tampered with. Sure, she wasn't supposed to be driving while drunk... But another benefit of being a Zeltron—or a curse, depending on how you looked at it—was that their physiology allowed them to consume way more alcohol without getting drunk. Still, got to be careful. Someone will have to get those people home. That didn't mean she'd stop just at that.

"I think I'll go hit the dance floor; back in a bit!" The Zeltron raised her voice, trying to make it louder than the dark beats of the music. Getting off her stool, the purple-skinned woman made her way through the crowd, eventually finding enough room to start moving to the rhythm. Eyes closed, the Jedi let her other senses do the job. In the sea of emotions and intents surrounding her, she sought to distinguish each and every one; to keep track of people moving around her. As a Master, she was supposed to be capable at that... Yet the mutli-tasking did leave her somewhat exhausted. So before long, Nykoria would focus solely on emotions building up within and around her, and on anything out of the ordinary.

Senator Snowell was having quite a good time indeed! The young woman downed her entire class and sat for a moment before Kori announced; “I think I'll go hit the dance floor; back in a bit!” As the Zeltron Jedi left the Senator thought to herself, Well, I might as well go get another drink... Or three. Hehe it is my break after all! With that the fiery haired female got up and strutted across the joint with no warning. She was still sturdy on her feet but the alcohol had heightened her joy and made her brain feel fuzzy. Lining up to get serviced behind two rowdy individuals Rossana waited until they were served NNN to speak.

As she began to speak to her server she started with “Hey, Miss! I would like two drinks from Corellia! Pick any one of them! And please do just send it straight to my tab.” The Senator smiled at the woman as she awaited her drinks happily, clearly she was enjoying her “night off.”

“I hope you enjoy your drinks, ladies.” Those words rang out in Vayla’s brain as she sat there letting liquid crystal settle in her stomach. Downing the drink as she did had left a rather distinctive burn in her throat, floating all the way to the bottom of her core, licking lips that sparkled and sizzled. Oh, she enjoyed that drink, all right, already craving for another, allowing the chill spirits of the club to complement that Chandrillan Chill Spirit. Still, there was a line to draw, even if the Pantoran’s fellow Zeltron did not know where to draw it just yet.
"I think I'll go hit the dance floor; back in a bit!"
“Cheers for the drink, love!” Vayla thanked the bar manager, watching her walk away along with Kori while Rose strolled up with another request over the counter. The Jedi Knight planted a hand on the senator’s shoulder, calling toward her ear over the thrumming speakers. “I must admit, I’ve never clubbed it out with a senator before!” It was a surreal experience, quite like whatever it was exactly that she had just tipped down her throat, and it wasn’t the kind of experience that she had a mind to pass up.

Two drinks were planted on the counter just then, courtesy of a senator’s purse. Vayla was quick to take one, down it, and raise the empty glass to her newfound friend. “Probably should have toasted that one too but, eh, what’s a gal to do, eh!?”

She stole a look into the crowd, brushing her gaze past the throngs of sensational souls to spot the dance floor and a familiar Zeltron dancing upon it. With that, Vayla waited for the perfect moment that followed Rose’s drink, then grabbed her shoulder by the shirt and tugged her onward as she left the stool and paced toward that floor with a buddy in tow. “Come, Senator! The dance awaits!”

Music IC

By the time the Pantoran and Human had reached the floor, the Zeltron was already moving to her groove, and the DJ had suddenly changed pace as was often the occasion, the music switching tracks out of nowhere. This did not faze anyone, only inflaming the dancers to keep on dancing. Vayla became one of them, leading Rose’s hand into a fellow triangle-circle-thing among all three Jedi before releasing her grip and swaying either hip.

She was happy, she was glad, in touch with her emotions as much as she ever held them back. After all, this was a night to escape, one moment to replace a million moments lost, and amid a thousand beats between heart and speaker, well, Vayla was in the zone.
