@Reyn,

The tall alien paused in the doorway, looking at the passing Republic naval officer for a moment and then the doorway the young Bothan leaves through even as it closes. Eventually, hearing Eoto's words, Ke Pasa turned to look to him and nodded at the invitation, stepping over in his direction.

"I guess we are both tough-er than we look."

Ke Pasa croaked out, his words still hoarse and strained, although much better than at those final moments before the Terentatek was slain. He listened to Eoto's plans for a peaceful death as the Blood Carver slipped into the offered seat, looking over the vista as well.

"I am, soon. I have come to say thank you and good-bye."

He confirmed, turning away from the view to glance at Eoto,

"The trophy is secured, we will be lee-ving soon. Direct coo-rse to my home planet. No offense but unless you come to my planet, I hope this is last Life Day we spend together."

Ke Pasa quipped out in a grunt, his golden chitinous snout twisting to look back over the vista,

"Even if they try to turn me away because the trophy is too big, too pride-ful, I am not leaving my home this time. Perhaps one day our chil-dren will meet instead, or their children, and have their own adven-tures. But for me, this is enough."

He agreed with Eoto's previous sentiment about finally retiring and getting some rest for once. The conversation about the future generations reminding Ke Pasa about something.

"Republic oo-ficer, high rank."

The Blood Carver hummed out, sounding out an observation that skirted the line of a compliment, although not left without a proper criticism,

"He should be wary or the post can turn him soft."

Eoto laughed at Ke Pasa's suggestion. "Oh don't worry about that, I don't think I could deal with an entire planet full of people like you." He replied with a smirk. "I enjoyed this Life Day well enough, even if I did spend the better part of it in a Kolto tank..." He looked out at the horizon, watching the clouds rolled by. Slowly he frowned as he listened to the Blood Carver's words.

"Maybe..." He replied slowly. "Seeing as much of the galaxy as we have... I think I'd prefer my children's lives to be boring." He knew that wasn't the case though. One a navy officer and the other going into the notoriously underhanded Bothan politics, his children were already setting themselves up for lives far more exciting than his own had been. And not in a good way. For all he had done to look after his family, there wasn't much he could do in the face of their own choices.

"He won't go soft." He said absently. "That boy's twice as tough as I ever was, and three times as smart." He looked at the Blood Carver and forced himself to smile.

"I was happy to help you Ke Pasa. I wish you safe travels on your journey home." He offered his hand. "A lot of folks are gonna be patting you on the back with a trophy like that. Make sure not to accept any compliments." He added with a wink.

@Reyn,

Gave out another nod, listening to Eoto's description of his son, forgoing criticism about issuing compliments,

"That's good. I hope my children learn on my mees-takes, fight like I did."

Ke Pasa croaked out absently, turning to look back to Eoto and reaching out to him in return. He clutched onto the offered hand, elongated fingers bending around it and sticking out far enough that they could wrap up over Bothan's finger another full rotation.

"If I will, this time I will ask them to just bee-head me instead."

The insectoid quipped out with a twitch of his chitinous plates and a shudder of his beak-like snout in what must have passed for humor among his kind. Once their hands parted, his grip moved to the seat instead, pushing himself up to stand.

"I should not let the pilots wai-ting, Rebels gave me few figh-ters for escort, in case of pirates. I hope you will return safely too."

Ke Pasa wished farewell to Eoto, giving him a soft bow before turning to the doorway and stepping up closer. However, as the automatic door slid open before him, the Blood Carver paused and looked back to Eoto.

"And may peace be with you."

He wished to his hunting companion before slinking away and leaving the apartment. He made his way through the tree-city then, retracing his steps to the landing platform where the shuttle crew and small fleet of military craft awaited him. He exchanged few words with the captain of the shuttle before slipping inside, the ramp leading up to its entrance closing behind him before the shuttle lifted up soon after and drifted off into dark space surrounding the planet of Kashyyyk.

For better or for worse, this was the last time Galaxy heard about Ke Pasa the Blood Carver, although it came to be a name and a tale of redemption immortalized within his tribe and the family that welcomed him back, as was the name of the companion he would tell his children and grandchildren so much about, "Eoto".

Eoto smirked at Ke Pasa's joke, and nodded in acknowledgement as he excused himself, wishing him a final farewell as the Blood Carver left him alone. The old bounty hunter remained in his seat after that, taking his time enjoying his view. It was strange. He couldn't quite remember the last time he just sat down and watched the clouds. He and Nyir had purchased a home in the country back on Bothawui with the money he'd made over the years. Hopefully he could start a new routine with her. After spending so much time hunting others the prospect of sitting back and passively observing the turning of the world was immensely appealing.

It made the old Bothan smile. He hadn't done anything particularly spectacular in his life. A successful pit fighter and bounty hunter sure, but his renown wasn't such that he would still be remembered in a generation. And that served him just fine. He had done some things he could be proud of, and others he'd like to forget. But ultimately he'd done everything that he felt was necessary as a father. He'd provided for and raised his family, until such a time that they no longer needed his protection or guidance. And he could rest easy knowing his children would do just fine once he was gone.

Eventually Onos returned and joked about how he hadn't moved an inch all day. Eoto just made the boy sit down, and forced him to listen to another of his stories about a hunter he used to know.
