Ignorance, Yet Knowledge
SELF-DM / 48 HOUR POSTING LIMIT
Greed, selfishness, and destruction seemed to always permeate throughout history, across the galaxy, people were left stranded by those with more power. Al of the Governments had been involved, even the Republic in some aspects. People were used as holo-chess pieces and whole planets had been stripped for their natural resources. Ifrane was no different, the Republic and then the Empire had chipped away at the planet, stripping it down and spreading its insidious decay upon the planet like a cancer, a cancer that was eventually defeated.

In her last dying breath, Ifrane had erupted, purging the landscape, cities, peoples, all of its traces in a volatile planetary devastation. Remnants of the past remained though and our Jedi had slowly begun to realize this. Things had been long and dangerous for them all, and it seemed that both groups were on the brink of near death. But, even in all this destruction and gloom, peace had found a way. Through sacrifice of their own, the Jedi were able to get their friend the treatment he needed and slowly they could continue on.

They would find themselves at the entrance of a large Imperial Mining station, abandoned and ghostly. The facility had been built into the mountain side and all around it the landscape had been stripped and mined, with large Imperial cutters and walkers still remaining abandoned in their posts. Large rail systems could be seen leading towards the top of the mountain where the Praxeum stood, it seemed the Empire was curious in discovering what secrets the Jedi of old held. If they could find a way to get that cart running they could make it to the temple, and somewhere within the depths of the station had to be a medical facility for their ally.

As the group would walk in, a few emergency lights would flash on, signaling that there was still a power system somewhere located within. A flickering holo image of a Grand moff would appear, the voice modulator fried beyond repair. If this equipment still worked, I wonder what other Imperial remnants or critters hid within the darkness.

Max's ankle hurt.

He wasn't going to complain about it but it hadn't been quite long enough for the annoying little injury to heal even with some mild bacta treatments. If he had hogged some of the high quality stuff he probably wouldn't have had any pain at all but he had ensured that his allies had as much as they could have.

If they'd had any more they would be passing it for months so he had relented slightly and applied a little bit to himself.

The journey onward had not been pleasant but it had happened and they would be made stronger for it should they all survive their quest on this most desolate of planets. As they approached the refinery, Max noted the way it seemed to half-awaken as if to greet them with the ghosts of the past.

"Every place in the Galaxy has a memory."
he mused even as he drew his lightsaber in his right hand and held it tightly, thought not ignited yet, "Places like this though? Places like this deserve to be forgotten."

Still supporting his burned ally with his free arm, Max waited for his allies to prepare themselves mentally. Who the hell knew what kind of horrors awaited them within?

Saul's breathing was shallow. Though the burns across his body still ached, the bacta had done enough to keep him on his feet. For now, anyhow. He knew when they finally left this place he'd need medical attention, serious attention. He knew that these wounds would not heal so easily. And yet he kept his mind elsewhere, on anything but the thought of the future. All that could matter to him was here and now, lest he wallow in the pain. And pain could lead to dark places where he refused to follow.

Max still shouldered much of his weight as they'd carried forth, onwards and upwards to where they found themselves now. The station appeared abandoned, though something of its old energy remained as lights flickered and an engine somewhere rumbled to bring the place to some semblance of life,

"Then let us forget it all the sooner too" Saul wheezed out to his companion "whoever held it before certainly has" his voice was weak, a distinct rasp and twinge in his inflections betrayed his wounds. Lurching forward, he let go of Max and propped himself up against the console before them, the image of some ancient Imperial flickering above,

"Perhaps there's a map in this thing" he said through gritted teeth "no use wandering blind" Saul pushed out through a spark of burning in his arm.

Moza made his way forward with the other two. His plodding pace keeping him behind the others; if only to watch their backs from any of the other insanity of Ifrane. Though Moza said nothing to the matter he felt the twinge of muscle spasms from his right arm. The wound had been taken care of somewhat by the bacta, but Moza took only enough for his arm to be operational. The lion's share of the bacta he left to Saul who was in far worse shape than he was. Had not Maxims insisted with a rather persuasive argument that the planet was dangerous enough even with him fully healthy, Moza might have just forgone treatment all together. But Maxims wisdom won out of the padawan's ideology as a healer, and it allowed them to continue their journey in somewhat better shape than before.

So it was that they pressed on, their pace slowed by their wounds. Moza's own mind drifting to the other group, hoping that at least that they were fairing better in this hellscape. It was not long though until they found the station, and from the other end of it rose the rail tracks that lead to their destination. In making their way inside a low hum reverberated out and sparsely dull red emergency lights filled the corridor they stood in. Power, the station had some after all this time. That was good at least, though how much it had seemed to be questionable. The flickering holo with the lack of audio was testament enough to that.

"She can't forget it." The padawan spoke following Maxims remark, "she has been scarred by these people, and so she showed her wrath." Moza continued, the muffled sound of his native language being filtered through the translator to come out in that robotic basic. As the padawan spoke his injured hand lifted to touch upon the cold metal walls. Should either knight have turned to look at him as he spoke they would see the Ithorian wince at the gesture. But there was something important to Moza in feeling the pain while speaking to that of the planets.

"I hope if we make it out of here we can one day heal Ifrane of all the devastation caused to her." Moza offered forlornly as he withdrew his hand and turned back to the others. Seeing Saul lurch forward Moza took a couple quick steps to see if he needed help. But held as the knight proved determined to access the console.

"If we can access a map we should check for a medical bay. A facility like this would be bound to have one don't you think?"

Slicing was not Max's biggest skill but even he had some skills when it came to something that was about a century old at least. The facility was rather easily the best option for slicing for himself. He patted Saul gently on the back to get his attention before taking out a small knife and prizing open a small panel on the console.

"Take a load off Saul - I'll slice it."

Messing around with the wires on the inside of the console, he accessed it on a baser level than it's rather broken display. As he messed around with it, the message of the Moff changed to a map of the facility complete with a blinking dot about where they were in relation to the rest of the facility.

Of course what it also did was start to wake up other parts of the facility as the main lights attempted to come on, flickering alongside the emergency lighting.

He winced as he pointed to the map.

"Medical suite is there, right near the middle."
he advised with a frown, "That might have activated some defenses. Saul... do you want to stay here and try and access the defenses and cameras?"

He didn't want to endanger him too much.

Watching the hologram flicker in the centre, Saul was trying to make heads or tails of the places layout, and where exactly they’d need to head. But his mind was having trouble keeping focus at times given everything he’d been through.

Still, when Max made his offer, Saul could hardly refuse, he needed to pause for a moment,

“Gladly, if the two of you go ahead I’ll try and guide you from here” he said in a wheeze, drawing himself over to the console

“Hopefully we can all avoid any more... encounters”Saul added as he begun to study the console. The layout of everything was rather outdated, but that also left it a little more simple than more recent things, easier to crack open. As the other two would move off Saul found a position that kept him stable by the system, and slowly began to unlock its secrets.

With a whir and a buzz, feeds from cameras across the facility began to screen themselves in the display. Putting them together with the map was another question, but they were not the only thing. Basic mapping of the places defensive features began to overlay on the map. He had the pieces now, they just had to be used correctly,

This better be enough he spoke to his allies telepathically, though the connection strained him a little. They had protected him, now he owed them the same.

Left hall first

As Jedi Knights neither of them should, or would, shy away from danger in the line of their duty to the Galaxy and to the Force but he knew well enough that Saul was in no condition to continue right now. The mission came first in all regards save for when it would endanger the lives of his allies beyond the pale. That was what Max had taken from the briefing and if he managed to get them both home and had to explain the failure of the mission he would do so gladly.

He nodded to Saul as he left.

He didn't wait for Moza, content that the Padawan would continue and follow at his own pace. His lightsaber felt heavy in his hand, a natural result of him never really being comfortable walking around with it as his first option but this place was danger and history and he couldn't afford to go in without a line of defense. On the plus side, it was unlikely that he would have to kill anything within these walls simply due to the fact that the entire place seemed so devoid of life or even the memory of it.

It was cold and disgusting even if it was beyond warm physically.

Understood.

He followed Saul's directions without hesitation, knowing that his ally would steer him true. Of course his progress was halted for the time being by a blast door, stuck almost all the way closed but not quite. It left a small circle in the centre of the door that was left open with the circular door itself poised at the edges.

The edges looked wicked sharp - typical of Imperial design.

Seeing only one way through it towards his goal, Max schooled himself and hoisted himself up and through the hole. The sharp edges of the metal cut into his hands and his thighs slightly but the big issue came from the mechanical whirling that started when he was partway through it. Eyes wide, he forced himself through, further scraping himself, before the door shut behind him by inches at best. Wincing on the ground, he looked over his shoulder and the now completely broken door.

Moza, you can't go the same way as me. Saul, I can't come back for you this way.

The way was shut and didn't that bode well?

Saul followed along on the map as Max made his way through the facility. Having something to focus on kept his mind busy, even when Max had to pause he scanned the map to search out other routes, looked over the cameras to be sure no other pieces of security would be impeding their progress. A medical suite would be a gift from the Force, but part of him didn’t even want to acknowledge what had happened to him. Then he’d feel it again, and he couldn’t bare to do that.

As Max’s voice rung through his head, he looked over the console once more to try and find another way for Max to carry on and return,

It’s alright, there’a a lot of hallways in this place, one will get you back. The medical suite will be at the end of the hall if you find it Saul shifted his thoughts now to Moza,

Perhaps Moza you could secure our way out. By the looks of things theirs a rail to the mountaintop, that looks like our way out of here he would have given more directions, but a sudden sound behind him forced him to crane his head around into the shadows at his back, a thumping on the ground that approached him,

“Hell, hell, hello. I am your DT3 proto, proto, protocol droid. Do you have per, per, per, per, permission to access the console?” A half busted protocol droid emerged, its processors clearly damaged in the years left alone. It’s glowing red eyes looked near demonic in the flickering light.

This, this could be a problem Saul thought.

But the others had their own challenges to attend to.

Moza was a little hesitant in the exploring of the facility. By all accounts it was abandoned and that should have given him some degree of comfort. But there was just something in the air, an oppressive feeling that he couldn't shake and it distracted the Padawan. He was also not necessarily keen on leaving Saul behind. But the knight seemed confident in this being the right choice, and in the face of that resolve the younger Ithorian couldn't argue. So he made his way behind Maxims, his own saber at the ready although in his off hand. He never questioned the thought at being prepared to defend himself after all they had experienced.

Unfortunately the Padawan proved a little too much in his own head and seemed to fall behind Maxims. When he snapped back into the moment he found the Knight at the blast door. In seeing the small opening Moza quickly did some mental math and figured it might have been a perfect size for a human. But there was no way his body would squeeze through an opening that small, not without some incredible bending and maneuvering on his part.

"Master Maxims, I don't think this is the best idea..." The cautious Moza muttered through his translator which held almost no sense of tone to it's robotic voice. It seemed his initial assessment was correct though, as Maxims himself struggled through the hole. Letting out a sigh Moza turned his back to the door to look down the hall in the opposite direction.

"Master Saul, is there..." Moza thought back to his compatriot. His voice falling short as the sudden whirring of metal from behind him distracted his thought. Spinning about the Padawan felt a rush of adrenaline as worry filled him over what the sound meant. He could practically hear each little screech of metal scraping against metal as Maxim's movements loosened the once stuck door. Realizing how bad it could be Moza raised his good arm with saber in hand, and started to reach out with the force to hold the door if only for a few seconds. But before he could channel the force through him Maxims wiggled his body through and seconds later the door finished closing completely.

"Master Maxims are you alright?" Moza called out telepathically as he rushed to the door and placed both hands on the cool metal. A wince from the dull pain in his right arm came to his features, but his lingering pain was a distant after thought to the Knight's safety. In seconds he was answered and the relief he felt flowed through his entire being. The Ithorian let out a breath he didn't even realize he was holding and took a few steps back from the door. Moza fell silent as he listened to the brief conversation that followed, and it seemed he would have at least a semblance of marching orders to move forward with. But before he could get an idea of directions Saul's voice cut off from his mind.

"Great..." Moza said aloud as his vocoder translated his native tongue to an empty hallway. "...I've got a bad feeling about this." He finished and turned about to head to the center of the hallway. The Padawan knew he had to put his trust in the Knights and handle their situations. This crucible was challenging them all and he couldn't let them down and be a burden. Especially when Saul was pushing so hard for their group. So Moza steeled his resolve and made another left upon reaching the center of the four cornered hall he had gotten stuck in. This put him in a short hall way that T'ed off into the left and right directions. Without Saul's guidance with the map Moza was essentially stumbling around in the semi-dark of the facility. So he arbitrarily decided to go right, that way if he stumbled on anything he could at least defend himself a little easier with his saber. Going a few meters down the hall there was another left turn and the hall continued on straight. Here the lumbering Padawan paused a moment, checking the new hall first to make sure it was clear. Then, in seeing it was, he continued forward down the hall he traversed. Moving deeper into the facility for sure, but with his unfamiliarity with Imperial architecture Moza had no idea he was going in the exact wrong direction.

By missing that left turn he just passed the Ithorian would continue onto a path that would T off again. Once more Moza chose the right path and continued into a winding hallway, and with another eventual right turn Moza found himself on a path directly to the resting quarters for the former workers. Far from his goal and well and truly lost within the labyrinth of the facility.

Yeah maybe jumping through the stuck door hadn't been the best of options but it seemed that leaving Saul to man the console had been a good idea. His friend was already proving his worth by providing him with directions towards a different direction that might very well work in getting him to the control room.

If he could reach the control room then he could gain, as the name implied, control. Wouldn't that be a novel concept for this mission considering control had been lost to the terrain of all things within the first few hours?

Have faith in the Force, Moza.

He reassured the Padawan as best he could as he ran down the corridor he remembered Saul pointing out to him on the holomap. It was only as he was coming around a corner that he encountered something of a problem in the form of a metal arm outstretched as he was running. Barely seeing the arm for what it was, Max was only able to pull himself partially out of the way. He still ran onto the arm but at an angle that meant he rolled away at a diagonal angle.

Which meant he avoided the follow-up stomp from the KX security droid that had reactivated to meet him. He stood, igniting one blade of his lightsaber as he eyed the decrepit security droids in front of him. It was old and it was poorly maintained but it still possessed a lot of strength.

Fun.

Temporarily delayed.

Hearing the slightly concerning words of his allies in his ear didn't exactly help him keep calm right now, but there was little other alternatives, it certainly wasn't as if he was going to run anywhere. As the protocol droid marched toward him, his mind raced, thinking, thinking, thinking of what would get him and his friends out of their ruts right now.

And then, like a spark in the Force, he had an idea,

"Approval came from the Moff" he said in a start, pushing the words out "Forgive the delay" he prayed that his gambit would work. And to his luck, it did. Perhaps the years and washed away its friend/foe identification, perhaps it just didn't care anymore,

"This, this, this pleases us" the droids posture fell a little, became more friendly, and stepped forward to Saul arm extended "How can I assist you today?" DT3 said cheerily, even as the station creaked and scratched around him,

"The security systems have turned on" he was shocked, shocked that it worked, but it was about time they had some good luck on their side "they're interfering with our work, could you turn them off for us?"

DT3's head tilted to its side and turned to the console,

"Allow me" it said without concern. Saul may as well have collapsed then and there.

At least something was going right.

Moza entered into the unknown dead end of the residential hall and could feel the frustration growing within him. Part of him understood there likely wasn't a need for maps to the people who worked here. More over getting lost in the period when the facility was operational could have been resolved with just a passing droid. Alas, for the Ithorian that seemed such luck was beyond him and he would be stuck in his wanderings blindly through this place. The creeping frustration wasn't helpful though and in part the Padawan understood that. Reflecting on the presence of Maxims, he knew he needed to have faith. The force would guide him, and these trials were only to test him. With a sigh falling from both his mouths Moza took a moment for himself. Closing his eyes as he stood in the middle of that hallway, the Ithorian would try to center himself once more. He just needed to trust in the force and he would be guided to the proper solution.

Unbeknownst to him though his passing through the previous corridor had tripped a sensor; and after entering his current hallway a door in the previous one opened. Stepping from the dark room were two more KX Security Droids, recently activated after their long slumber in the dormant facility. Following directions from the central security system the two lumbering droids made their way into the hall where Moza awaited in brief meditation.

"Y-you..you...you are not authorized to be in h-he...here. I am af...af....afraid you must come with us to to to the detention facility. Please com...comply, there is no where to run f-f-from this location." A cold metallic voice spoke calmly behind Moza.

"It seems I'm busy as well. Anything we can do about security?" Moza reached out to the others through the telepathic link that was established by the Knights. His own large form turned it's way about slowly to face the droids behind him. Moza's golden eyes actually staring roughly equally with the KXs, which was a surprising change of pace for him. The odd passing thought a brief moment of brevity to mitigate the sheer abysmal degree of luck he seemed to have. Still in looking to the droids it seemed they weren't in the best of shape, they certainly hadn't been maintained since Ifrane was abandoned. So that was a plus.

"I don't suppose there has been a mistake has there?" Moza asked almost resignedly. With his dominant arm not in the best of shape he would prefer to avoid active combat. At the same time, he was not planning on letting himself be taken and just end up further lost in this place. So moments after his translator finished his remark the Jedi would ignite his own blade in his left hand. The low hum of the lightsaber gave him an odd sense of comfort. Even as the green light of the blade illuminated the area around him in the dim security lights.

More friends to the party! 15/100 on will there be droids

Max prepared himself for a struggle against the security droid, a type of droid that was known for it's ruthless attacks that were used with overwhelming strength and force to back them up. He had fought a few in the past but he had hoped that he would not have to combat them today.

Not when he and his allies so desperately could have done with a good day.

The droid's eyes flashed and suddenly it looked... docile.

"DT3 unit designated as greeter confirms sentients within the facility have a right to be here."
the droid declared in it's customarily blunt manner, "Your right to exist in this space will not be contested at this stage."

Max blinked.

"... well that's nice to hear."

Leaving the droid but keeping a close eye on it as it actively followed him, Max spared it only a little fraction of his attention as he instead made haste towards the control room. While a medical room would benefit both of his allies, getting to the control room and giving them unrestricted access to the security features would be invaluable and ensure that they might actually survive long enough to use the damned medical facility.

Approached the closed control centre doors, Max eyed them warily as he raised his lightsaber... before taking a chance and simply pressing the button to open them. It was a pleasant surprise to see them open without issues.

I'm in the control room now.

He approached what looked to be the main console and powered it on. Of course as soon as he did so the Force screamed at him and he was forced to throw himself out of the way as the KX security droid attempted to smash his skull in from behind.

"Your continued existence does not extend to access to restricted systems."

Because of course it didn't.

Even from where he was still toward the facilities entrance, Saul could hear and sense the concern generating in both of his allies.

Well, that and he had access to the cameras, so he could see it all clear as day too. While he had hoped to bring things under control from here, it seemed that Imperial systems followed certain orders particularly strictly, they weren't making it far at all, every second action a seeming life sentence from the places security.

Saul gritted his teeth, biting back the pain that felt ever more present as his stress levels rose. He could not wait here idly as his allies were feeling the pressure, not when they had so long looked out for him. How he would do that was another question, or so he thought,

"DT, urgh, my team requires our assistance, might we be able to-" he could scarcely finish his request before the block-headed driod scooped him up in his arms and lifted him into the air,

"We, we, we, we, we can assist. Security can often be stu, stu, stu, stubborn when they do not know their place. Clearly their records are not sufficiently updated. We will show them" and soon they were away, the droids metal legs booming across the floors as it dashed surprisingly quick for a droid. It seemed in a flash they found Moza and his 'friends', the greeter bot updating privileges for Saul and his allies as they did so. It would not be long before they arrived at Max either, DT's greeter status apparently carrying more weight than one might have expected, ordering the droids to lay off, reprimanding its subordinates like a frustrated middle manager.

It seemed they might finally make it out of this.

Moza was in a bind, that much was obvious. As the two KX droids began advancing the Ithorian slowly stepped back further into the dead end of the corridor. His blade was at the ready, that was for sure but Moza's first thought was more in hoping to out maneuver the droids than dismantling them. Strictly speaking he was sure he could take one on, but he didn't have full range of motion and that put him in a tricky place. What's more he was running out of hall to back up into, and so it was quickly becoming a now or never moment for the Ithorian. Drawing on the Force the padawan readied himself, an idea having formed that would hopefully play out.

Yet before he could act a rather surprising turn of events transpired. For in that moment of decisive action in came a rather determined protocol droid carrying...Saul!? The droid repremanded the KX droids, apparently having some degree of status in the system's administration. While it wasn't how Moza foresaw this ending, it seemed he had been given clearance to move about the facility. Little did he have time to process this when off DT3 went with Saul in tow.

"Well...see...I can be here." Moza stated as he deactivated his blade. While the vocoder couldn't pick up on his bafflement it didn't seem to matter either way to the KX Droids.

"So...S-so it seems. Very well ha-ha...have a good day..." The droid on the left replied curtly and spun about on its heel in unison with it's partner.

"Actually..." Moza quickly interjected, stepping forward a bit as he spoke. "Perhaps you can take me to the rail heading up the mountain? Umm, that was...what I have been sent to repair." Moza continued, lying through his proverbial teeth and hoping with all his might they would buy it.

"V-very well..." One of the KXs responded after an overtly long pause. "...you'll only...only g-get lost if you're left to to to your own organic devices." Moza could practically feel the sigh from the droids, but hey at least he had a guide to his destination now.

Moza found his way...technically...escorts count right? 52/100

Nuts to this.

Max felt a surge of annoyance directed squarely at the security droid and thumbed the activation stud of his lightsaber. With both of it's blades ignited, he threw it forwards in a controlled spin with the Force. The double-ended saber cut cleanly through the droid in a vertical manner, leaving both sides to collapse to the floor.

Calling his lightsaber back to his hand with the Force, he extinguished both blades before accessing the control room console again. Even with his mediocre slicing skills he was able to push through the security; it was security at least a hundred years out of date after all. The console lit up like a Life Day tree.

I have access to the security protocols.

Accessing said protocols, he reactivated the emergency lights by re-routing the power from the security measures to both the emergency lighting and to the medical bay itself. The security droids would shut down and the security doors would jam themselves open as safety regulations demanded.

Even the Empire wasn't stupid enough to have doors that shut and stayed shut during a crisis. Backing away from the console, Max started to jog towards the medical bay.

The way to the medical bay should be clear and it's all powered up - let's get you two down for a nap in some bacta.

Unless something went drastically wrong they had come out okay from this... he really hoped the Force didn't respond to someone tempting fate.

He’d been on his way to Max’s position as he heard his comrades voice in his head, and the lights across the facility flicking on shortly afterwards. Doors thudded through the building and echoed down the halls,

“Gr, gr, grand. We are not at full operating, cap, cap, capacity. Perhaps work may continue once more” DT3 spoke with digitised glee from his vocoder. Saul did not even consider such things, he was near exhausted by now, the bobbing in the droids arms shaking his injuries dearly. He needed the bacta, and he needed it now.

The droid seemed to agree, and began to make haste to the med-bay in short order. But every few steps it seemed to struggle, its fried chassis and mind finally approaching their end.

But it would not be this day.

With its surprising speed both were brought safely to their destination, Saul being dumped on the operating table gently as the Bacta began to bubble. Soon he’d be gone to the world, and his injuries would have a chance to heal somewhat. Perhaps with this, he’d finish this journey that had gone places he had never expected.

Moza was getting along just fine in making his way to the rail where Saul had directed him to go before their communication cut off. The padawan was determined not to screw this up as it was the last he heard from either of the Knights. What's more it seemed his luck finally turned and he was being escorted by one of the security droids so he wouldn't get lost again. It well and truly seemed like smooth sailing from that point on. But life is funny that way, and while his struggle was lessened by the help of the security droid thanks to DT3 and Saul. The same situation couldn't be said for Knight Maxims who was dealing with his own troubles. His victory over the KX droid was swift enough, that was true. But in shutting down the security measures, that also meant the droid helping Moza would shut down as well.

"Well just my kriffing luck." Moza said to himself the moment he felt the droid no longer keeping up with his pace, and in turning saw it's hunched form and empty "eyes." At least the lights were on fully, but Moza's situation was hardly improved as he had no where he was in the facility.

"Right Master Maxims..." Moza began to reply as he felt the Knight's words in his mind, "...there is just one problem. I have no clue where I am, and my escort just shut down." Moza continued, as he gave one last appraising look to the droid and then to the four cornered junction hallway he was stuck in.

"I was headed to the rail line if that helps, but all the halls look the same to me." Moza added, and decided instead of just wandering he should just stay put and wait for a plan instead of wandering the halls blindly.

No Droid to help Moza means he is back to being lost again. 17/100

Slicing was hardly a strong suit for Max but he needed to get Moza over to the med bay and right now he didn't have any way to know which way to go. Thankfully he had a good idea of where his companion was due to their knowledge of the area's map and because of the telepathic communication they had going.

Still, the console he found at the side of the medical bay wasn't the main console so it was unlikely to be hooked up to the main systems in the way the control center's console had been. Thinking about it for a moment or two, he made up his mind before taking the front of the console off and messing with the wiring to gain full access.

He succeeded - both in wiring the console to the greater control system and in shocking himself quite badly.

Cursing, he pulled his hand back as quickly as he could and looked down at his right hand, noting how his right pointer finger was an angry red color, veins bulging, surging with pain and rather unresponsive. He tried to move it and found it sluggish, as though the nerves had taken damage.

Max shook his head and arranged the emergency lighting to guide Moza before sitting down on one of the medical bays to wait, nursing his damaged finger.

Saul caught Max as his friend entered the Med-bay, just as DT3 was lowering him into the bacta tank as it whirred and bubbled intensely. It seemed the man had unending energy to assist, even as the shock leapt at his hands,

"You'll have to spare a moment to look to yourself Max" Saul offered with the last bit of joking energy he could muster as he was lowered into the pool. Liquid suddenly surrounded his body, rolling over his eyes and skin. A moment of discomfort across his wounds became in a flash a cooling glow that entered his every pore and began knitting his wounds together. Though some had set in for good, and undoubtedly his injuries would take some further repair, for today, for Ifrane, he'd be in effectively one piece.

And it comforted his mind too, letting the worries, anxiety and pain that he had carried since the plunge to fall away, at least for the time he was inside. His thoughts faded, and Saul gave himself over completely to the bacta, and to the Force.
